Ideal location. Small but well appointed room. Had a great deal so excellent value; likely not great value for money at regular rates, but in that location, would be hard find better options.
Great location, just steps from Central Park, shopping, restaurants, etc. Nice decor. The $25 fee per guest. Really? What a rip off. BUT, it includes free wifi! And a bottle of water! Many hotels offer wifi and water for free to anyone that signs up for their loyalty/rewards program (which is free!) You do get a $10 credit, though, which can be used to purchase a $20 drink on the roof top. Stop gaming your customers.
Nice upscale, modern and hip boutique hotel. Close to my work in midtown and 6 1/2 Ave. Friendly and consistent staff. Fantastic in room amenities. Comfy bed and nice big bathroom, robes and slippers.

The team at WestHouse went out of their way to take care of the two of us. Small requests, such as for a flat iron or extra luggage stand were met almost immediately. Even with the air conditioning on, it was still a tiny bit warm in the room (we like very cool rooms). The hotel was great and provided a fan, though, which helped.
Location was fantastic, as it was easily accessible to Central Park and train stations. Breakfast selection was great, since it was included in part of the $40 per day per person deal. I am having mixed feelings about the $40 per day per person charge, since the only benefit to someone who is on a business trip might be the breakfast (which was great). But I guess everyone might want an option to opt in or out for such fees. Housekeeping was bad - requested some extra hangers/hairdryer at night but never came. I had to remind them the next morning for it. Same deal when they make up the room - sometimes they are missing bottles of water, others they forget to replenish towels. No standardization in the process. I do not exactly feel the five stars was well deserved as compared to other hotels.

The location and service were great. The room was very comfortable and spacious (especially for NY). We ordered room service and the food was excellent. The parking was more expensive than other local hotels ($65 vs. $50 at other hotels).
The location is superb. Central Park views are a joy to behold. I also thought the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Postage-stamp sized room, even by NYC standards, for $500 a night. I also would have appreciated more attentive doorman service, especially during evening and nighttime hours. (Daytime service was fine.)

The staff is kind, congenial and attentive. The spa is one of the best I have ever been to. I took my 82-year old parents to NY for the thanksgiving weekend, and the hotel staff was so kind, so wonderful to them. Can't think of a thing!
Staff were professional and friendly. Room was perfect size,very clean and tidy. Location was perfect.Had 5th ave two blocks away,central park on your door step.Couldn't ask for a better location.The hotel was walking distance to every tourist attraction. The tour bus stop was around the corner too. The room didn't have a coffee/tea maker.Would happily have brought one from the hotel but prices were stupidly high,along with the price of breakfast and dinner. This didn't put us off as starbucks was one block away and was able to walk to all restaurants,plenty of choices.But menu did look good.

The Hotel staff was exceptional. They were very accommodating and definitely worked to in sure that our stay was comfortable and hassel free.
The size of the suite was great. Plenty of closets. Clean bathroom, very functional. Furniture and fixtures were in top condition. No music capability in the suite unless you brought your own.
Excellent service. Good hotel just facing Central Park. There are many good hotels near Time Square, Rockefeller center, etc. with a more convenient location and with much better prices.

Good location, staff was helpful. The bathroom is so small you had to crawl around the commode to get to the shower. The faucet in the sink was dripping, The room had in adequate lighting, and the clock was set for an incorrect time.

Location. Close Columbus circle. Lobby. Room was extremely small. Bath and Toilet was extremely small too. Bedding was tared which made me don't want to sleep in the bedding. I slept on the bedding. Don't recommend you to stay. I can not believe that I payed almost $250 for this kind of room.
Very good location, with many coffee shops and small restaurants nearby. What I would expect from a NYC hotel, of cheaper value. The shower is part of your bedroom with a clear wall, giving 0 privacy,to shower or use the restroom. Stayed with my mom and it was quite uncomfortable. The bedding consists of a bottom sheet and a duvet, that does not extend the length of the entire bed, so your shoulders are exposed. The hotel restaurant, we did not visit, had avert very limited menu. When we asked for things for the room to be fixed or changed to the cleaning staff, she responded " I know, talk to management". Also very thin walls, you will hear your neighbors tv, our we're quite so that's not a complaint, just a statement.
The hotel was beautiful inside veryour. The feel was cozy. The room I stayed in was right next to the elevator and the water machine. I heard people all night long using elevators and water. Asked for another roI'm was told nothing available. There is a 30 dollar charge per night and I don't know what it's for. Will not be staying there again.
The room was very small with about 3 1/2 ft on one side of the bed and 2 1/2 on the other. We had a very hard time keeping the room temp adjusted since the air seemed to blow on the head of the bed. My wife eventually slept with her head toward the foot of the bed. The bathroom is so small I am not sure how someone large could sit on the toilet. My knees were 2 1/2" from the wall and I am 5'9".

Pristine gym and pool, stylish service and friendly staff but not snobby. Great turn down service. Amazing bathroom and overall decor. Very clean and new. We went with our 4 year old. They where nice to us even though we had a little kid with us. We used to live on NYC but now are just visitors. So this hotel is perfect location. I will only stay here from now on in NYC. No complaints

Location After dinner , wife an I ready to go to bed, my wife noticed pillow cases nor linen was changed. We are avid travelers, we were horrified! Head of housekeeping had it changed at 9:00, but wife an I were tired and this event made us stand in hallway for almost an hour till changes were made.

I love the Park Central Hotel. It is our 2nd time to stay there. We originally stayed at Park Central in July 2014 and had an amazing experience all around. The staff, the room, the bathroom, the concierge, the location were all wonderful! Our 2nd stay in June 2016 was nice but not as excellent as in 2014. I booked the Park Central through hotels.com in 2014 and 2016. I chose it for the clean and well kept rooms, the location and the price is fair. In June 2016, We were put in a "courtyard room (graveyard)" because of the price that we paid. If we spent $75 more a night they would upgrade us to a normal room. This room had a window but barely let in any natural light. You couldn't see what the weather was like until you went outside. The bathroom was so tiny that the only way 2 people could be in there at the same time was if someone was in the shower and the other at the sink. The shower was a tiny stall! I couldn't bath without my elbows hitting the walls. Although, the similar price in 2014 gave us an amazing room with a street view and a huge bathroom (no need to upgrade). The staff on this last trip were friendly but seemed to be rushed. Not the cozy vibe that we had in 2014.
Comparing with Hyatt (4 stars) in DC, Holiday inn (3 stars) in Buffalo and Holiday inn (3 stars) at 57th street NYC, this so called 4 stars hotel-Park central is nothing. The only advantage you have is location.1.The room is quite small, no coffee maker (I requested 2 times by phone, excluded I came to the front desk to request face to face),no refrigerator(you need to request, the quantity is limited and no one replied about whether they would supply or not.) 2.No hair conditioner in the bottle at the first night I stayed.After the third night, I left a note in the bathroom for the housekeeper and said"please refill the conditioner. Thanks." No one cared about this. The bottle was still empty. 3. Airconditioner was broken. Luckily the front desk changed a room for me. This is the worst experience I have in NYC. I am pretty sure I will not choose this hotel in the future and tell others about this experience. Again, if you don't care about the service at all, choose it. If you don't mind to walk several minutes more to Times Square or other sites and want better service and bigger room, Holiday inn midtown at 57th street is a good choice. And the rate is lower than park central.
Excellent location next to Central Park Too expensive. Poor interior quality. Very old rooms. (There was no refrigerator !!!). The hotel pictures are not accurate of its true condition.
Loved the decor and the staff was super friendly. Great location, anything you could want right around the corner. Nothing, some people said it was small, but not if your used to New York spaces.
Room larger than typical for the area, staff were very helpful, walking distance to many restaurants and places we wanted to visit Though coffee places were nearby, it would be nice to get an early morning coffee without venturing outside the hotel. Perhaps marketplace kiosk could be open 24/7
This hotel is very well maintained, in a great location, and the beds are very comfortable! They don't let you check in a minute before the check in time.

they were very accommodating and friendly. the rooms were perfect sizes and beds were very comfortable. the facility charge. we only stayed from 7pm at night until 12pm the next day so we didn't even use any of the facilities that were included in the charging so we thought it was a bit unfair to be charged that amount if we weren't even there long enough to use it.
The staff, from doormen to housekeeping to desk staff were freindly and very accommodating. They are obviously the strength of this hotel. The location of the hotel was convenient to local attractions and eateries. Local mass transit gives you access to the rest of the city. The room was a bit drafty. Also the open shower allows water to soak the bathroom. Scaffolding on the exterior detracted from the appearance. There are three elevators but one wasn't working and another was so small it could only hold 3-4 people depending on luggage.
Room was clean and comfortable and a good size for a NYC hotel. Convenient location for tourists. Elevator situation made for excessively long waits. Lots of street noise could be heard from the room.
Close to everything including entertainment, transit and all the typical sites of NYC/Manhattan. The nightclub attached to the hotel meant large lineups of really young folks all through the lobby at night. No gym.
Location was excellent. History is good. They were in a complete renovation process and they did not tell me up front. Only one elevator was being used for guests and it was malfunctioning. One was out of service and one only for construction.

Location Was far from a Dream. Overpriced for what seems like a 10'x10' room with a brick wall view. People quickly say "well that's New York", but at $300+ a night there are plenty of great options in the city. Won't be back.
This is my wife and my second time staying at this hotel. Last year, we stumbled across the place during our honeymoon simply because it was a great rate and it looked as if it was a bit more romantic and "sexier" than some of the other hotels in NYC. We were immediately hooked! This hotel since last year has underwent major renovations to bring the rooms to an even more modern hot view. When we checked in, they upgraded my wife and I because it was our one year anniversary, the doorman personally walked everything to our room (he is awesome btw) and the reception staff was beyond professional. I almost felt as if they still knew my wife and I from the first time we visited their hotel a year earlier. To our amazement, the hotel sent up a representative about thirty minutes after we checked in with a complementary bottle of champagne and a couple of glasses for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. Talk about overwhelming service you never get when traveling today -- especially in a big city! The rooms were spacious for a NYC hotel. Their upper floor suites are totally worth the extra money -- including one of the rooms that has a walk-out balcony. While there was a bitter snow storm during our stay last week, we still managed to enjoy our time outside! My wife and I have traveled the world and as a native northeastern, I have stayed in a ton of amazing hotels. However, in my opinion, nothing can even come class to the professionalism, cleanliness, romantic and down right hot environment that this hotel possesses. Forget every other hotel you might see on the list -- Dream Hotel, Midtown is the perfect place to say for a romantic getaway or a one-night rendezvous you might never forget. I enjoyed everything. Zero areas for improvements.
In addition to the beautiful suite and comfortable bed the hotel staff makes the guest feel welcome and at home. I highly recommend this hotel if you want luxury, a feeling of warmth and friendliness, and safety.
My wife and I were in town for an awards ceremony and wanted to have a special first class stay near Central Park. The hotel was so nice and the staff were friendly and very accommodating. They even provided us with a limo ride to our event with just a quick call to the front desk. Everything was first rate and the room, view, and decor was very upscale adding to the New York experience. The location was within walking distance to all the best shops, dining, and attractions so that we did not need a cab while we were there. The best part was a view of central park and the room was very quiet with no typical street noise or horns blowing during the night.

A well thought out room layout (jr suite) and everything clean and working. Very friendly employees. An effortless hotel experience where you can tell they are sweating the details. it's not a great room lobby hotel and the views aren't city vistas. But if you value functional comfort Trump Int'l is the best value at the higher end of NYC hotels.
As a family of four traveling with an infant, we appreciated the spaciousness of the rooms. A crib was provided as requested prior to our arrival. Two bathrooms and the kitchenette were useful. The location is central to subways, shopping, and the park. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in, #1716 was showing obvious wear. The nightstand, and living room tables were dinged and worn on top. The couch was stained. Also minor stains on the carpet. We stayed here frequently in the late 1990's and early 2000's and this room has not been renovated.
The best thing was location. Close to inexpensive places to eat like Bread and Honey, Szechwan Gourmet. Central Park and the subway were very close too. Great staff too. The elevators were slow at times and at busy checkout times would even bypass you if there was a lot of weight in the elevator. It passed us 6 consecutive times one morning. We ended up taking the freight elevator.
The initial cleanliness of the room $300 incidental hold on your account and they don't inform you. They don't correct the reservation if there is an error and try to charge you more for your stay. Also we put that we wanted our room turned down. The bed wasn't made all they did was put some towels on the table and left

I liked the location. We have stayed in many hotels in Manhattan. For the price we did well. The pictures are very deceiving. We got the Junior suite. Not that big at all. We were near the noisy elevators. The pictures show beautiful flowers, huge room, everything is clean and bright. It's not. The staff at the door and valet were very nice. All in all, it was a good stay. Just make the pictures real.

The location was all we paid for. Great spot. The room was half the size of the photos and there was hardly room for the bed. The hair hair dryer set the smoke detector off. No fridge. No microwave. Had to pay for internet. Pretty much a bed storage closet with a smoking hair dryer.
We loved the huge rooms. I wish they had said it was a 2 bedroom, we would have taken a friend along. We figured it was just a normal room with 2 beds. It's always nice to know when you have an extra room.
The staff was wonderful. Best bellman you could ask for. They always checked to see if you needed help with directions. Cannot say enough about them! The rooms are hot. It was 22 degrees out and we slept with the window open to get air. It's an old building so you don't have individual control over the temperature.
The only good service I got was from the room service staff and the hotel handyman who came to help we with my heat after being dismissed by the front desk attendant The front desk staff I encountered upon check in was beyond rude, beyond inhospitable. I had to wonder if I was getting a rom for charity or had I not just spent a tidy sum to stay there. As a business owner, I had to speak to the management whose response was less than satisfactory. Had my check in by been at 11pm I would've cancelled and stayed elsewhere. Had I not been tired- the sidewalk outside would have sufficed. I will NEVER stay there again not recommend anyone to. I have Zero tolerance for bad service and rude staff. They should be let go or out around the back to count towels or something. Not interact with humans
The staff were all wonderful and accommodating. We asked to move rooms after our first night for more room and they were able to do it immediately! The new room had a sour smell so we asked to be moved again, my new keys were waiting when I got to the front desk. The staff is great! The bathroom in the newer renovated rooms was nice, good size. The location is perfect- right in between Central Park and Times Square. No a/c controls in room. It was rainy, but humid during the day and colder at night causing the heat to kick on. As people got hot, windows were opened up, causing the heat to stay on. It was pretty miserably hot and our windows stayed open the entire stay. It would dip into the 40s at night, but with the heat on, our room stayed comfortable. older room had extremely small bathroom.
I did not like anything about the hotel besides it's location and even that wasn't worth the stay I dislike that you had to pay for Wi-Fi, the hotel all on it's own was dated, bed sheets were stained, king size bed seemed like a full size, heater made loud noises that woke you up, the water temperature would change when the next door neighbors toilet would flush or at any point the water was being used elsewhere, the sheets were ripped and lights would flicker, elevator was slow. The price you pay is simply for the location. The hotel itself was not worth it

The location was the only thing this place has going for it. The rooms ware super old. Old furniture. Super small bathrooms. Extremely small showers. Not clean. A real dump in my opinion.
The room was as advertised- 2 double beds, there was also a fridge and microwave. Enough room for 4 of us ( 2 older teenage 6 foot boys - bit of a squish in a double bed, but they figured it out!!) - The shower was high pressure and stayed hot for the four of us. The staff were courteous and very helpful. There is a coffee /breakfast restaurant on site that is convenient. We did not spend too much time at the hotel - it is very conveniently located to subway, walking distance to radio city, Times Square, Shops on 5th Ave and Central Park. The shower curtains need more magnets on the bottom. When you turn the shower on. The pressure from the shower causes the curtain to envelop you as you're showering!

Outstanding location and friendly staff. Not luxurious, but clean and modern. When they say check in time is 3 pm, it's 3 pm and no sooner. Hard to get one of the 4 elevators during peak periods; we ended up waking down from the 6th floor at checkout.

The staff was very attentive in spite of having a fully booked hotel and being extremely busy. The hotel is located a few blocks from Central Park, the metro, great restaurants, and theaters. The fitness room was in the windowless cellar. The carpet down there smelled of mildew. The elevators are tiny - we often had to wait for 10 minutes for multiple elevators until there was finally room for us.

Reading some of the negative review scares us a little, but the price is what we are comfortable with and it right next to time square. When we got there we were surprise, it's not bad as you would fear. In fact the place was clean and modernize, bed was very comfortable, got everything you expect of a hotel, including a fridge, microwave, complementary wifi. Major thing is the hotel elevator waiting time can be so long, so it's best to get a room nearer to the ground, incase you need to use the stairs. Minor tins I didn't like was one day the house keeper forgot to clean our room, when we came back late one morning. Also it would be nice if the hotel room have a pool, jacuzzi, or steam room.
If you are interested in wig near Times Square and broadway shows, location is good. Also it is very close to multiple subway lines and walking distance to 5th avenue, Central Park, Empire State Building, etc. Room was very small- like being on a cruise ship. Also although I requested a city view room, they "upgraded" us to a room facing Times Square which meant lots of flashing lights at night. i would opt for something in a quieter area.

The room was much bigger than your average Manhattan hotel rooms, and the hotel seems newly renovated. From the lobby to the corridors, elevators and of course the room, everything was spotless. Also, the staff were very helpful and friendly. If you think all what I stated is what you should expect from any four-star hotel, you most probably haven't bee much to hotels in NY.

Friendly, helpful staff from the front door men onward... The Concierge , he is always a pleasure to deal with. House keeping are quick and helpful, should you require more of anything. Starbucks on the corner... Good to go!
The Empire charges mini bar rates for Keurig coffee in room. The bathroom was very, very small which made it difficult to use comfortably, and we are very small people.
The Empire Hotel was much, much nicer than I expected, considering that it is one of the more affordable options in Manhattan. The lobby was very stylish and featured a nice bar where people were meeting for drinks and snacks etc. The room was very small, but that is typical in big cities, and it was really nicely done, with a lovely bed, lots of towels and toiletries, etc. It felt very comfortable. The location is amazing: Lincoln Center is literally across the street, the subway is half a block away, and you can easily walk to dozens of attractions and the park. This will be my go to hotel from now on in NYC. The movies were a bit expensive to rent ($19!) but the internet was strong and cheap, so it didn't matter. I could hear the folks in the next room, but they were having an argument (whoops) and otherwise I couldn't hear anyone. NYC is noisy, so there's always going to be some noise. I really don't even consider these complaints, to be honest.
Excellent location. Awesome rate. Was in town for a training workshop but decided to come a couple days early with my boyfriend and found a great rate for weekday in January. Close to subway. Only problem I had was that it can be quite noisy. It is located between Broadway where it crosses an avenue, so even at night there is a lot of traffic. Our room faced Lincoln Center, which seems quiet at night, but it was also the side of the hotel which has service entrances so a lot of trash trucks and deliveries coming in on that side. I'm a light sleeper anyway so I always bring earplugs and that worked perfectly.

The room and lobby were beautifully decorated and the hotel was in a great location right in the middle of manhattan. The staff was very professional and extremely helpful. The room was agonizingly small for the amount of money we paid for it. When we checked in the lady behind the desk said she was "upgrading" us, and we barely had enough room to walk around the bed. I shudder to think of how small our room was before the "upgrade".
Room very very small for paying that price. My window view was of another building like 3 inches apart. Sink wouldn't drain, remote control wouldn't work. Otherwise, the staff was nice and the bed was comfortable.
The value of the rates given the the area is great and it is centrally located in mid-town. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My room was noisy in the morning but quiet most of the other times.
