Location House Keeping
The room was clean & fine. Bathroom was with tile heating & very clean. Although it was written free wi-fi is only at the lobby, there was hotel wide wi-fi, including rooms. Everything was perfect about the hotel. Shuttle service is very useful. Just one of the reception staff was rude. Other than that everything was flawless.
The location of this Hotel is perfect for business trip. The price for this hotel is quite worthy.
Good location. Very neat and modern. Staff friendly. We had to pay for our parking ticket every day. At these rates I think it is rediculous
high quality facility providing full service. Staff is competent, professional and helpful. Room are comfortable and clean. Food is very good. Internet works well Sometimes prices on high side for Cape Town where there are plenty of options
The location is a right between downtown and the V&A Waterfront. Everything is walkable plus you have great cab service as well as the hop-on hop-off bus right out in front of the hotel. Since this hotel is adjacent to the convention center, getting to anything you want for business or please is easy to do. The breakfast spread in the mornings was excellent and the rooms were nicely appointed wth hotel being very clean. Since the hotel is at the convention center, if there is a large convention in town (that you are not a part of) you may get overwhelmed by conventioneers. There was a large ANC convention in town while we were there. The hotel was able to handle the added quests, so it reallly wasn't a problem but could be an issue for some. Check the Cenvention Center schedule prior to booking. The only other issue I had was the customer service in general. I really thnk this issue is more cultural to South Africa than it is an issue at the Westin. I just didn't feel like the conceirge's were as helpful as they should be getting tickets for me or helping me find a good restaurant. I sat in the bar area of one of the hotels restaurants (1 meter from a restaurant table - didn't realize it) and we asked to order a desert and was told we needed to get up an move 1 meter to the next table. This kind of rigidity does not exist in the USA..,.the customer is always right and we would have been served. That night we decided to get up and move back to our room. At breakfast, there was mixup with the number of people in our room booking (they claimed the reservatin was for one and we had two in the room). Breakfast was supposed to be complimentary but they made us pay for one breakfast each morning (200 Rand)....an inconvenience. I think this would have been handled differently in the US. Overall, I would recommend the hotel for its location and nice amenities, just don't expect 5 star American style service anywhere in South Africa. (Although I will say the overall service level in South Africa is much higher than anywhere I have been in Europe....espeicallly restaurants)
Comfortable, clean and modern; we stayed in a suite which comes with a great breakfast and cocktail hour
The breakfast.....was very good All three times my car parking was a problem...... First they misplace my key and had to wait 20minutes to find it..... then they brought my car out to early standing in the sun for 30minutes after I arrange when I wanted the car. We I wanted to leave after check out, my car was parked in and they could find the owner......so this experience that was suppose to be something nice..... was very frustrated.
Excellent location, shuttle to waterfront reliable, excellent breakfast, very pleasant surroundings, intererior excellent, comfortable atmosphere, friendly and helpful restaurant staff, very clean sporting facilities, pool, shower, jacuzzi, etc. Swimming pool too small, cleaning of bedroom was erratic,
Extremely pleasant, capable, and helpful staff ! Well appointed room with great view ! Exceptionally good black-out shades in room that permitted good sleep while adjusting to new time zone ! Very comfortable, Quiet room! Good spa facilities. Good on-sight restaurants. Good buffet breakfast. Excellent wifi, including in the room !! Beautiful design/architecture. Bright and cheerful. I REALLY LIKED THIS HOTEL !! Minor complaint: The "lap pool" usually did not serve for swimming laps as it was the only pool at the hotel, it was only one lap wide, and was used by guests for simply lounging in the water. However, the gym was well equipped, so I was still able to get good exercise.
We received an upgrade to the Executive Club Floor This hotel is not the place to stay for couples or any romance. It is all business and has limited facilities for leisure. No outdoor pool. limited food selection. very sterile place!
The Spa on the 19th floor is really relaxing and very clean. The breakfast downstairs was of a high standard and obtuse there was awareness re health eg smoothies etc. The room was comfortable, very corporate- the bathroom is cleverly designed and very user friendly.
outside noise level, some double glazing would be useful
The convience to every thing. The willingness of the staff to make our stay very comfortable That there was only Malay type food available at the Restaurant in the Evenings, meaning we had to go else where to eat .
Clean, excellent service, very polite helpful people ,very organized, excellent cuisine, very beautiful area, feeling of safety The swimming pool could be possibly renovated
The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and respectful. Shows excellent customer service apptitude. The tourist assistance staff were also especially efficient. Facilities like spa etc were at a different location, sister hotel - not very convenient. The swimming pool may do with some cleaning up.
Convenience to the waterfront and safety (felt very comfortable walking around the area) The rooms are a bit dated but I understand refurbishment is being carried out.
The location is great for access to the Waterfront. The room was very clean and the staff are always friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is lovely, lots of choice and nice waiting staff. This is definitely good value for money and a very pleasant experience. The key for the room was temperamental, and the road outside was noisy during the night.
Checking in and out was very swift. A really comfortable room with all the needed amenities. My room did not have hot water. In winter this could be a problem checked
The warmth and welcome of the hotel staff - efficient service - dining no matter what time of day - was carried out with care and courteously - staff approachable with warm smiling faces. No
The staff went out of their way to let us feel at home! The rooms are very small and the bathroom needs upgrading
Location was great. It was next to the Victoria mall and near transportation routes. Hotel was a bit run down. The rooms and bathrooms are in need of some refurbishment.
After having stayed at all category og hotels for 30 years; this is the most pleasant receprion staf ever. A bit noice from the street, bars and trafic. Hope some will be better after consruction work is finished
In trying to create a balance on all the above points, lack of sleep can lead to murder..... I loved every thing about the hotel, except the unassuming, hidden noise factor that takes over from 11pm -4am every day. Please sound proof the window area.
The hotel is well decorated but dirty, hairs in the bath etc. The location is shocking, it's extremely noisy (Sunday night clubs go till after 4am). We left after 1 night as we had no sleep, and were very disappointed with the hotel and how our problems were dealt with. Everything
Contemporary style and location right in the centre. Breakfast is just superb with a special for their yogourt and cooked plates. Staff utterly friendly and accomodating. Cleaning ladies very helpfull. Being located on Long St with Bars and Restos everywhere, it is pretty noisy at night. However on the 5th floor it gets fine. Otherwise room was beautiful and overall hotel is great.
Great location, great design, amazing rooms.....in other words: perfect! Breakfast is poor....you don't understand if the "breakfast included in room price" means continental breakfast or all inclusive, since the staff is handing a menu with prices.....another thing, we came to have breakfast an hour before the official breakfast end time and there was almost no food available....
Helpful staff Noise ++++++ - the hotel is located above a nightclub, surrounded by bars and opposite a backpackers on the only party street in capetown. Do not stay here unless you intend to party and be the last in bed each night a sunrise!
Perfect Hotel, good location. Situated on a very loud street where security is an issue. Surroundings (aka streets) are not well maintained. Be careful at night.
Great view to Table mountain from the hotel room. What a way to wake up!A bit noisy from the street, but with earplugs, you won't notice.Restaurants, shops, museums etc in the neigbourhood.
Nice room and nice service A little bit noisy : the windows are too thin to block all the noise from Long Street which is noisy street at night
The room (602) was absolutely beautiful with the most stunning view of Table Mountain. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The garage parking included in the price, was much appreciated and an added bonus when you compare to other hotels parking situations. windows urgently need a wash (on a more regular basis at least) and the shower door did not work (room 602) - a fault from the installers - which the hotel staff should have picked up on a walk around when building was finished. road was very noisy.
A quality hotel with a nice feel and ambiance with top class facilities
Total experience.feel good feeling.breakfast
Quite, clean rooms and friendly staff made stay very enjoyable TV selections (limited stations
It is a very relaxed hotel with friendly staff and a quiet location in lovely grounds For my last 2 visits there have been noisy building works during the day so one cannot have a nap in a bedroom
Attention to service from the staff and their friendliness. Quality of the food (breakfast, Garden Lounge and Splash).
Vineyard is a favorite of mine - have stayed there many times since 2000, upgrades evident, very clean, quiet, beautiful rooms, great views of Table Mountain - very peaceful and historic. Great restaurant and lounge, wide array of breakfast foods. Staff is super! No
The staff were very considerate. it was peaceful. the food was excellent.
The Spa was great though fairly expensive. The room was comfortable and breakfast was great
Total relaxation. Staff friendly and courteous. Cannot fault anything in this lovely hotel. I look forward to returning. Location was a slight problem without own transport. The hotel claims to have a 'shuttle' bus to and from Cape Town. This is hardly a shuttle, leave hotel at 10 a.m, nothing back until 13.00. 13.00 from the hotel returns at 18.00.At 90R per person each way it's quite costly. I feel the hotel should look closely at this facility.
The staff was EXCELLENT -- accommodating, friendly, and on-the-ball. I was very impressed!
location, privacy and ambience with friendly staff. should have been warned of renovations in progress
What is there not to like? ha ha
Happy, self assuared staff in all departments. Golf carts to move around hotel. Location of hotel. All good. Could do with better design barth.
The fact that we were upgraded to a suite. The friendliness, the personal attention and absolute luxury - we felt very special. A special place for our anniversary (our 2nd time and many to come). Meal at Reuben's fantastic. The attitude of "manager" (in charge of seating) at breakfast.
the fact that sex workers are alowed on the premises.
The rooms are clean, and well supplied with knickknacks if you'd like to spend that kind of money on drinks and snacks. I was disappointed that I was given a room with a single queen size bed. I'd ask for a double bed, which I thought would mean two separate beds. When I checked in with my daughter, I was disappointed that the front desk told me I should've asked for twin beds. There was no option on their website for twin beds. There was an option for two adults which I interpreted as double beds, since that was an option.
size of room, location, very competitive price, excellent restaurant attached
Very good location, just 15 minute walk to the Waterfront and 3 minutes to Long street. In room safe stopped working and even after the supposed fixing it didn't work properly. The internet connection is bit too expensive.
Good hotel that offers value for money A little too far from the waterfront. Taxi's arranged by the hotel are far more expensive than those that can be self organised.
we were upgraded to a Loft Apartment
Friendly staff and comfortable rooms with all the ammenities.Good location.
The staff were particularly helpful and friendly. Having a pianist playing at breakfast was a very nice touch
Very close to the V & A waterfront which is a gateway to lots of tours etc.... I was only there for one night.
breakfast, Butcher's Grill & parking
They upgraded us to a loft and the staff were very accomodating. I know it was no the hotels problem, but starting early Sunday morning and crane was busy being anchored at 9 Dorp Street for a generator to be hoisted onto the roof of the building. It was extremely noisy and disturbing. The sound proofing of the room is not very good either, making the main road below very audible and once again disturbing.
Relaxed but better class
Everything was excellent. The staff couldnt do enough to help make our stay exceptional down to the duty manager spending over an hour getting my laptop up and running. To be able to have a car and driver to take us around free was an absolute bonus. The little bit extra that we paid for this hotel was easily compensated by the savings we made in not having to use taxis. Nothing
Very nice hotel and very friendly staff. Great Location, excellent SPA. Highly recommend it. I heard that If you add your tip to the bill, the hotel do not give it entirely to the staff.
A very luxurious feel -a little over the top even w door man, front desk walkin you to your room... Full apartment, lots of room to spread out, large bedroom, nice bathroom, 2-3 blocks of nice places to eat and shop right next door, but not real close to attractions No black out curtains on living room/hall windows and no door in the bedroom prevents you from getting it dark in bedroom to go to sleep- brin an eye mask
Pool deck, 1800º Restaurant, Hotel Staff, Hotel Facilities, Parking lot, Good Location Bed Size, Living room Window without shades
After a week on safari and in some bed and breakfasts in Stellenbosch, my wife and I very much enjoyed our two-night stay at Cape Royale. It was indeed luxurious. The whole hotel, including the rooms were very clean. The staff was extremely professional, efficient and friendly. The parking was good, safe and reasonably priced. The location was also good. We didn't make use of the hotels facilities, but we enjoyed our stay very much. Our only small gripe was there were no towels and no napkins in the kitchen. A roll of paper towels at least would have been nice.
Well located and staffed hotel/residence with fine decor. Breakfast is not up to 5 star expectations. Used towels disappeared quickly without being replenished.
staff were super supportive. very good location and close to Waterfront Security reaction toward the incident of theft I had in the hotel House keeping is not up to 5 star level, we had to request soap and shampoo although they had cleaned the room just hours before our request.
Amazing hotel with prompt and courteous service. The staff were great and the hotel was terrific. Minor draw back was that you need to take a cab to most places but can easily walk if you have 15 minutes to get there.
good proffesional service. rooms are spaceous. location is excellent. the rooms are fully equiped with everything you need and are well maintained.
Modern Hotel with high standards no
The size of the rooms, excellent design details of the hotel, the butler service and the complimentary shuttle service to the waterfront. Inconsistent housekeeping services
the way they welcome their guest is awesome. I really enjoyed the dignity given to the clients.
location, location, location.....Excellent Staff!....Great Value!!
Breakfast buffet and view
The location of this hotel is incredible, right in the centre of the bustling Cape Town waterfront....you walk out of the front door and you are where you need to be. Very upmarket and classy!
Good location rather expensive for the type of room and hotel
The hotel was fabulous. The location and facilities were outstanding. The breakfast was wonderful. Most of all the staff was phenomenal. They were consistently courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely phenomenal.
Location and spacious room. the hotel need renovation. The staff does not respect the guest. They made me wait at reception to go verify if I stole in the room.
Location Bed was hard
Great hotel, Great rooms, Exceptional breakfast We had a "bad" luck, since our room shared a wall with a famous Jazz club Green Dolphin. We enjoyed the fine music from 8-11 in the night. (there are maybe 3 rooms in the whole hotel affected). One night we also went there. Nice club.
only the location too expensive for such one
The service, the food, the gym and the pool were all very nice. The rooms were comfortable with great views.
lovely room & service no real water view at Dock House-dining room small with no view. However, breakfast at main hotel wonderful - view, service & cuisine. Sorry we took the upgrade. rather stayed at V & A with waterfront view.
On the whole very good with one or two small reservations Hefty charge for late check out even though the room was not to be immediately occupied
The security was excellent! Staff very helpfull and friendly!
Room very good standard with all modern appliances etc Disjointed services - Reception in a different building to bar/restaurant Access by road/path to V & A Waterfront was very difficult despite being nearby Reception Staff not very helpful but other staff very pleasant
Walking distance to V & A The suites were adequate for couples, but I would certainly not be recommend this hotel for acquaintances traveling together, clear glass to the shower and no wall or door separating the bedroom from the bathroom is not ideal for those wanting privacy. The hotel had a feel of a council housing block. Won't be returning
Very nice room, well located for the v&a Waterfront and the City Centre
Proximity to waterfront
Comfortable hotel with kind friendly and helpful staff. Close to the conference center and shops. Very good transport system.
convenient location near V and A waterfront for shopping and trips friendly staff reasonable cost breakfast was expensive staff, though friendly, had limited knowledge of area should create better walk path to V and A
Staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. Room was clean in a state of good repair and well fitted out No parking outside hotel entrance when wanting to book in
Proximity to the Waterfront was good and there is parking for visitors. Lack of good printing facilities and Internet access.
manager, bobby-lee was great...made us feel at home.thanks dewald needs to brush up on his customer service, if i am the client i need to be treated like i am the only one who exist in that moment, we had an incident at the hotel where the the panic alarm went off and we paniced and rush out, justine ask what was going on and dewald just rushed pasted us....
Great facilities and pleasant environment
The staff was very helpful in arranging outings for us, very accommodating to all our needs. The food in the restaurant was wonderful and the service was top-notch. There wasn't anything I didn't like about the hotel. Would definitely book this hotel again.
I could walk to the V&A waterfront or take the shuttle. As always the staff was wonderful. Safe location. Used Jarat for tours and pick-up which was a great choice. You can do cheaper but you get what you pay for. Would have liked it if you could have ordered food at the bar past 10:30pm.
Staff from the reception to the hotel operators are largely incompetent, at least the dozen or so we met. Especially the mid-level is a problem. The bottom level staff were fine, but from there up, it was a disaster! see above
The view is incredible and location. However very lacking for a 5 star hotel, service was terrible and slow, and the hotel looked very tired in places and dated. As a business traveller the room service menu was very limited. Very expensive for what you actually got. On a positive note did feel safe and secure. Yes service for a 5 star hotel was very poor, they did not get one of my orders right!
Courteous, pleasant, helpfulFront Office and Guest Reataions. Excellent, knowledgable Concierge attention. Fantastic location on the Waterfront with stunning all-round views. Perfectly located for the World Cup Green Point Stadium. Houskeeping well-meaning but occasionally under-performing. Dining facilities lets them down: poor selection of dishes and rather indifferently prepared and amateurishly served. Lets them down.
location room price was excessive
Hotel was fantastic ! My cc was billed twice as kayak or get a room.com says they received two reservations at the sand time from me! I only received one confirmation! I spend 30 min on the phone on my dime trying to get them to refund the second charge and it's still not done!
View from terrace at breakfast / evening.
Stunning location in on of the world's most beautiful cities. The cocktail deck is simply gorgeous. The views from the rooms, inlcuding a large balcony. Outstanding. Hotel is in an aging building, not quite up to scratch given the room cost. My plumbing groaned and shower flooded! Service is average, simply no edge. But, the location...!
Willingness to assist in extraordinary requests. i got the impression the B team was on duty compared to my previous stays.
We felt very secure at this hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very close to city. For the price of the stay at this hotel we feel it was very overrated. The price was far too high. The room was nice but needed to be renovated or updated.
I think the staff was extremely friendly and professional. Great breakfast buffet everyday. It was within walking distance of several areas I wished to visit.
Absolutely nothing, it was the most awful hotel I have ever stayed at, I would never recommend staying here and will not return. Very noisy property, unfriendly front desk staff, major complaint was noise both from traffic and from loft room above whereby you hear people constantly walking up and down the stairs. Awful.....
The general convenience of the location.
Staff were very good and went out of their way to help. Room service and service in general was fast and responsive. The hotel also demonstrated a good eye for detail.
Fantastic staff and service attitude and solution orientation is world class. The treatment how they prepared the room for our anniversary was unforgettable.
The super friendly staff, especially those on duty in the breakfast room, totally lifted my mood. Inexperienced check-in staff.
Good location with pleasing decor and excellent breakfast We had beautiful loft room with balcony, very spacious but with inadquate storage space for our clothes.
The lofts on the top floor had excellenet views onto the waterfront and the world cup stadium in greenpoint. The staff are very friendly both at the front desk and in the breakfast room. the rooms and hallways smelt of smoke. I needed to change my loft twice before I was given a loft that had no smoke odour.
Location next to cape quarter is perfect , easy walking distance to V&A waterfront and city centre . Buses at front door Very noisy . Window panes are paper thin and air con is a giant box in the wall . Terrible internet , free until 100 mb ? Seriously ? In a wifi connected apple era ! And as slow as dial up . Staff average , very " apathetic attitudes "
the glass tiles in the bathroom the room and hall was very dark, the elevators were slow and cranky, the staff was either swamped or confused
Nice rooms. Proffesional and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. The hotel is near the Waterfront and we could see a bit of the sea from our window. It is also close to the citycenter and during daytime we could walk there.
location good, staff excellent, service very good. Nice and clean hotel overlooking the sea. View from the bedrooms to die for.
it was really a nice place. bathroom a little old, but overall great
staff friendliness Access to internet and ironing services
Good breakfast not far from Waterfront, and Table Mountain. We had a sea view from our room.Think it is was safer here at the sea front rather than staying in Cape Town city centre. Outside swimming pool was closed as we were there in the winter (July) The bar only sold bottled beer would have liked a pint of draught beer.
It looks pretty and they do serve a good breakfast. Service, if you press 9 at a hotel, you should be able to get the little basics and your reception could not even provide mini size toothpaste. You have comments block on the website when making a booking does anyone look at it, it was the night of my brothers honeymoon, and I booked there because of recommendation from other families, only to feel embarrassed, that they had single beds.
helpfulness and friendliness of staff
very central location in a decent clean hotel at a fantastic price.
This hotel is not up to the general standard of most hotels in Cape Town. Service was very poor, the amenities did not work, the parking system for vehicles is highly problematic and essentially the hotel needs a major overhaul. The toliet was not working, The staff werfe rudhe
The people there were great enjoyed every bit of my stay
The situation of the hotel was very convenient as we were booked to travel to Johannesburg on the Shosholoza Meyl Premiere Class Train the next day. We needed to deliver our vehicle to the station very early in the morning.
Staff very helpfull and pleasant. Rooms a little more ventilated.
Beautiful view, close to shops, transport, restaurants Room by the lifts was noisy. I did my booking 5 months in advance and specified that i would prefer room away from elevators witt the additional bed for 5 yo however it was not considered on arrival
teribly noisy! from airconditioner under window option was noise from lift !!! never again
Close to Waterfront Related to price it was good
Its situated closed to anything shops beaches waterfront restaurants
Parking facilities, security and breakfast. Service in the restaurant on the 21st Floor. One particular receptionist who seemed to have a approach.
liked yhe view as we stayed on the 18th floor diferrent to the other accomadation, i think thats your selling point amongst many i could not get vouchers for the internet, and i have my own laptop computer and all the other hotels are free wi fi, so r50 is a bit expensive when the hotel does not have any outlay to pay when the customer has his computer
Good location as we were close to family. Shower not ok. Difficult and extremely expensive i-net connection, only working at the central PC desk of the hotel. Elevators following their own pattern.
not enough parking; room was supposed to be non-smoking but was obviuosly regularly used as a smoking room...smelt highly of smoke; made stay unpleasant
It was a good location. The pool was nice. We arrived in the hotel and the booking was incorrect. The receptionist was so rude and kept us waiting half an hour. The room was upgraded in the end but the receptionist would be better working in a prison than in hospitality. Another girl and a male receptionist were very nice. The small middle aged woman with a fringe on duty on 16/11/2010 at 12.30 would really put you off the whole hotel. I saw her being just as rude to other people, rolling her eyes and sighing the whole time. The cost for internet use was extortionate - 8 euros!!!
The view food was not very good at the buffet food was cold and not very good value. Very noisy especially when groups staying at the hotel and singing late at night as the rooms are not very soundproof
Breakfast, location and seaviews. The bathroom was very small. Tv's position and poor program selection.
the view the chairs from the restaurant above our room were noisy and woke me up, the breakfast service was terrible, the bath was too small, the towels too small and not replaced and the TV had lines running thru it, we reported this but nothing was done about it. Also small DSTV boquet / selection.
The location. Small bathroom
Hote has a clean and fairly modern look. Hotel staff were initially friendly and service was quick and efficient. Service degraded massively for the 2nd last and last days. Breakfast service was extremely poor. You were made to feel like they were doing you a favour. Waiters spent more time setting tables than assisting guests, which is critical when the hotel serves plated breakfasts. Service was so poor on the last day that I didn't even get my breakfast!
The hotel had a good shuttle service which took guests to the waterfront and returned them later back to the hotel, The hotel was not on the seafront but on rocks above the sea. Therefore a walk was needed to reach the sea. There were no restaurants close to the hotel and the long walk back from the nearest did not seem safe in parts.
The view and sound of lovely Bantry Bay and the Atlantic from my room, from the Dining Room and from the deck. Convenient valet parking. Complimentary transport to and from V&A waterfront. The friendly dining room staff, especially Thulani. After a long flight from NYC my reservation could not be found despite earlier confirmation call, but problem resolved after a wait. Very noisy elevator motor intrudes in Rooms 2B and 4A even over sound of ocean waves. Bar and restaurant unavailable to guests during private function, with no excuse or comp offered. Bar service desultory.
The location was brilliant - walking distance to Camps Bay and free shuttle bus to the Waterfront at various times during the day. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The quality of food in the restaurant was superb. Best of all was the view from the pool terrace over the ocean especially for sunset!
The view from the seaside facing rooms was very nice. The bedding was comfortable. The satff was very accomodating The rooms were a bit small and the sound of the waves were quite loud even with the windows closed.
The location and impact of the sea view. wonderfully in your face no
Fantastic view. Nice staff, quick service. European electric sockets in the room
the owners are very helpful and friendly people and good knowledge on very good restaurants to visit.
Very friendly and comfortable. No
An excellent guest house newly renovated to a high standard, with quality furnishings & decor. Situated an ideal quiet location, within 10 mins of city water front & all its amenities and approx 20 mins to the excellent beaches of Clifton & Camps bay. A guest house with a difference with that extra friendly personal touch by the proprietors & staff, making your stay one to remember and return.
Everything, verry friendly helpfull, just everything.
The owners of the guest house and stuff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are excellent.
nice boutique B & B
Very friendly and helpfull people, they have honest and joyfull attention for their guests. The guesthouse is beautiful and tastefull decorated with an eye for details. This is a perfect location to stay !
I felt from the beginning like at home, very nice and helpful people. The palce himself is at a great location nearby the waterfront. Great complimantary internet, delicious breakfast with a unexpected selection an meat, chees, bread and fruits. Egs any stile can be ordered and are included. I travel a lot but only raerly i feel like at home, here i did. Will be back for sure, maybe for holiday too. Next time i will ask martin if he can take me to a township tour :-). There was no guest book where i could leave my regards :-)....there is absolutly nothing to comlaine.....realy nothing
Tasteful & thoughtful decor, very comfortable rooms, charming hosts, good breakfast.
Nothing that stood out. Lack of facilities compared to other hotels in same price range. Very expensive. Staff very noisy when arriving at work early morning. Loud and laughing without consideration to guests. Room not made up as requested and was asked if we would mind sharing the same bed for the night. I was then charged for two persons for the entire stay when twin share was only one night.
Proximity to city centre and the V+A Waterfront, etc etc. No issues
The staff was very friendly and helpfull! Room was impecable and clean! Will definitely recommend it to any traveller!
Near to the city centre and shopping.
Central location, great for walking ever where Hotel heating system in room was hard to work.room was cold even after we had someone check it out
Very near to our business partners.
Modern and stylish hotel. The best part of the hotel is the reception staff, extremely helpful and very friendly. They gave us good advice on day trips to Cape Point and Stellenbosch. The location is excellent, nearby a good choice of quality restaurants, Greenmarket, Long Street and the bus stop of the red/blue sightseeing bus. Breakfast is good. The room is good, but could have more closet space, especially for a longer stay. The bathroom is good, but could have more towel racks. Wifi is expensive and sometimes not working.
When I got to the Hotel there was no record of the reservation that your company had made for me. Luckily they had rooms available which I needed after flying and sitting for 30 hours.
The helpfulness of the staff and the quality of the room we stayed in Trying to find it when arriving by car. It is very difficult to find especialy as to get to it you have to drive up a street marked no entry! Guests should be warned about this as trying to get to the hotel resulted in a very frustrating and stressful hour driving in central Cape Town
The hotel is conveniently located from shopping area and for takinf the hop On Hop off bus. The staff were very helpful. No porter facility. More variety for the breakfast and if the time for serving breakfast could be extended for until 1100hrs. they forgot to send a taxi for pick up at the airport.
Safety of the place TV screans are too small
There was mold on the ceiling of the marble shower due to poor ventilation. While they moved us into another room, one of the attendants commented, "hundreds of our rooms look like that." Not a good state for a 5 star resort.
Location and grounds are spectacular, as is the breakfast buffet. Late night noise issues from bar and terrace area kept us awake and even awakened us from a sound sleep one evening. Required repeated calls to front desk to resolve. Bathroom lights also miswired and require turning on room lights which is problematic when companion is sleeping. Overall, it's a very nice hotel with very major flaws.
We enjoyed everything. Byron was extremely helpful and gave us spectacular service. High tea was lovely and the staff friendly as well as efficient and courteous. The grounds and building are simply beautiful
Lobby entrance and Bar. Gardens are lovely and one can stroll into town by way of the University park right across the hotel entrance.
Central location, comfort and beautiful colonial interiors
Stunning building and proximity to many attractions in Cape Town, including Company Gardens, Parliament, St. George's Cathedral, Greenmarket Square, etc. Apartment-style is very suitable for family travel. En-suite bathrooms in each of the 2 bedrooms is very convenient and also private enough for the adults, as both were well separated. Guest Loo - what a luxury to have, and the hotel made no hassle of guests in the apartment with you. Staff were accommodating and kind. The state of cleanliness left much to be desired. You have all these great facilities, but when you travelling with small children, you do not want them rolling around on scuffed floors and dirty carpets, nor touching dirty chairs, etc. Throw-up from a previous stay was regurgitated by one of the many basins in the apartment, and never used again. That was disappointing. They do need some assistance with housekeeping, but I found that to be a problem in restaurants as well in Cape Town. Hope that it gets better. The facilities in this apartment do make up for the lack of attention to details, though.
Hotel was excellent, staff were very friendly an helpfull.Facillities were superb.Had a great time at the hotel
The friendly disposition of staff, especially Thembi and Zanele in restaurant. Mary from housekeeping none
very comfortable child friendly had to use two lifts to get to breakfast
We had a huge flat with an excellent view an the table mountain. Very well situated and good price ( we were there in august 2010).
Rooms are beautiful with fantastic views. Gym access was great. WiFi was TERRIBLE!!!! If you need reliable internet access, this is not the place, the signal is poor, access is difficult and limited. If this was corrected, Madela Rhodes would be a superb hotel.
Very convenient central location for sightseeing and shopping. Well equipped rooms - loads of space and comfortable furnishings. Good choice of places to eat nearby. Extremely helpful and courteous staff ... after check-out, we requested somewhere to store/re-pack luggage and to shower and change before a late evening flight, and we were kindly allowed this facility at no extra charge. Nothing.
Very comfortable with gym facilities The shower in the studio apartment W503 messes on the floor when taking a shower.
The location was very good and the rooms themselves were really nice. It felt like a spacious 1 bedroom/studio apartment and it was awesome to have a kitchen (although we intended to use it we didn't, the restaurants are great and affordable) The WIFI connection is very slow. This seems to be an issue in South Africa at times, but it was incredibly bad at times. It would take several minutes just to load e-mail. Also, there was no fitness center there. We were given cards to go to a local gym around the corner, we did that one day and then one of the security staff told me they had made a mistake and we weren't allowed. I asked other members at the front desk later, they had no idea of this policy change. In all, I was disappointed there was no fitness center there, felt a little misleading.
Apartment with kitchen Everything nearby shuts down early, not the most inviting area to walk around after dark
Apartment hotel room was large and fully equipped for extended stays and had an excellent location close to eateries and clubs and added plus a great view of Table Mountain.
Superb quality accommodation in an ideal central location in Cape Town
