Pros: Executive Lounge very well managed Front desk staff and concierge efficient and friendly Junior suite excellent although shower door opening was not always easy

Cons: I had the lamb for main course in the Dining Room - the meat was below standard (undercooked with fat throughout)

Cons: Everything was okay except one point happened in the reception, they get 100£ As deposit for any additional service, however during my checking out they refused for refund because they believe that the didn’t detect the full amount of the room rate, but after checking the admitted it was their mistake and release the amount of 100£. Thanks

Pros: Location

Cons: At £513 per night for a club room and the cramped breakfast space this is really not good value for money. I guess it is more suited to bull buy tours who seemed to consume the hotel than a business traveler.

Pros: This is my new favourite hotel in London. We have stayed severally in five star venues, each with strong points, but this one has it all! Exceptional service across the board from front of staff through to cleaning provision (really immaculate clean and I’m a stickler). Executive lounge a lovely oasis within an oasis and staff most attentive for the breakfast offering there. Lovely all round touches from free ice cream ribbons and a Paddington book for the children through to late night coffee offerings for a hard working husband in the business centre. Hard to come up with how they might do better. The standards are very high and the clientele well behaved whilst the location is convenient for pretty much everything. Just a wonderful place to immerse yourself in, thoroughly recommend.

Cons: The blue boar restaurant a bit of a chequered experience, we were a little neglected, though the food was rather nice.

Cons: I didn't like the room, we were given a disabled room with disabled fixtures and fittings in the bathroom, I didn't request this and wasn't informed about it, the first I new was when we got to the room. Paintwork flaking off of woodwork, split silicone sealant around sink area. Your average premier Inn room was better than this...….and much cheaper. Frosted secondary double glazing on the windows, absolutely no view at all, pull aside the secondary glazing to reveal the middle of the building, pipes, ductwork and filth everywhere (explains the frosted glass).

Cons: I was downgraded from a deluxe room to a standard room (essentially.a closet)and my compensation was a 14 £ cocktail. The following day the y transferred me to a deluxe room and despite two request to make sure there were no feathers in the room...

Pros: The location was in walking distance of many local sites, like Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Horseguards, London Eye, and Parliament. The staff were helpful and friendly, hotel was well kept. Had excellent food from their restaurant, 1212.

Cons: Firstly I don’t like the service of the bell boy at the front gate. I have been to a lot of hotels including five stars but never have seen the attitude like the bell boys from that hotel. All are standing even though seeing the customer is taking luggages. Secondly I don’t like the attitude of front desks stuff. Already requested for an early check in as I have a meeting and I arrived the hotel at 2:30. It was half an hour before of that hotel policy to check in time. They won’t let me in until 3:03pm and said the room is not ready yet. Seeing the customer is waiting and sitting there for half an hour, they have no effort like asking the housekeeper whether the room is ready or no welcome drink at all. Thirdly, I don’t like the room. I booked a river view but the view of the window is so small and can’t even say it is a view. I am feeling my money for that view is not worth it. The room is so small and the hotel is very old. Fourth, the elevator is very old model 1000kgs type and very narrow. It was stopping once in every floor. Very disappointed to take that elevator. Fifthly, I stayed in that hotel at the raining day. The hotel is so old and so bad and even water drops are pouring drop by drop from the ceiling. I saw a bucket and it was collecting the rain drops in front of the elevator entrance of eighth floor. I was so shocked seeing the rain dropping from the ceiling. When I check about the hotel, it says “the Royal Horseguards” is a Five Star Hotel. I don’t know in what part it is being rated five stars. I will rate it not even a three star hotel.

Pros: The front fest was very gracious and accommodating. Housekeeping was extremely responsive to requests. Concierge was helpful. The bar was friendly and had a nice light menu. The restaurant was excellent for dinner. It was very easy to get a table and service was excellent.

Cons: Took a bit of time to get attention of the waitstaff in the tea lounge for a seat just for a pot of afternoon tea. The breakfast buffet hardly changed over the week we were there so we started going out to breakfast after three days.

Pros: I took my partner for his birthday. it was lovely but i wanted the river view room and i rang before we got there to be told it was a river view room. When we arrived that wasn't the case. other than that it was lovely and the breakfast was delicious.

Pros: Stayed in a king suite . View from the room was fantastic and the absolutely stunning at night. The room was spacious and comfortable with very nicely appointed furniture and bed. The bathroom with the heated floor was very nice surprise. Doorman was wonderfully welcoming, the bellboys were quick and helpful and the concierge was professional and always pleasant and patient.

Cons: I asked for an early check in which wasn't possible and I understood this. However, when I returned at the regular check in time, the receptionist without checking with anyone, insisted the room still wasn't ready. Had to ask for the manager, who after checking with housekeeping, found the room was ready. Receptionist was not happy at being contradicted and was less than pleasant for the rest of the check-in process. Not offered breakfast discount on check-in so would have paid substantially more if I hadn't found out about the discount by accident. Stayed two nights. Mini-fridge was not restocked the second day. Took 45 minutes to get a bucket of ice and then felt guilty for asking for it when we found out the poor guy doing room service was the only one on duty. Seems like the hotel needs to amp up the staff numbers to provide the five star service you're paying for.

Cons: Our room was very compact, as we are of a senior age group,the position of the bed against the three walls wasn’t easy access.

Pros: The location was EXCELLENT. We were within walking distance to all the shows and many tourist sights and museums. The staff was awesome. They were Very helpful and were able to answer all my questions. The wine and cheese offered between 5 and 8 was a great way to relax after a busy day of sightseeing.

Cons: The bathroom needed a hook for a hand towel and another bath towel. One hook is not enough for a bathroom.

Pros: The location was excellent as it was within walking distance of my meeting in the day. I didn't arrive until 9:30pm and the staff were excellent, really friendly and helpful. My room was basic, but clean and had everything I needed including water, tea and coffee. Really pleased and will recommend. I will definitely look to stay here when I next need accommodation in London (most months)

Pros: Appreciated coffee machine in lobby. Also greatly appreciated the later check out especially since it was at no extra cost. The apart hotel makes for a more relaxed stay than a normal hotel. Front desk staff were very efficient and most helpful - well done!

Cons: Having requested a walk in shower it took a while on arrival to find the premises has none. Likewise it took a while to find out that the Hotel has no feather pillows - this was important as some pillows felt like feathers. Hand rails at the entrance steps were sadly lacking. I'm not sure that preserving the character of the original building is a good enough excuse for this. Disability access is important these days.

Pros: Location is amazing close to Trafalgar Square and the Tube lines (Charing Cross and Embankment Station). The staff were really good even though I got some negative vibes from one after I made complaint around air conditioning breaking down and how it was handled.

Cons: I had room 112 (17-21 Sept) which had tired decor and non functioning air conditioning. Air con had broken down which they had to then switch off for the whole building (which happened after a recent repair) and would be non functioning for another 2 weeks (according to them). Staff provided a fan AND portable air con unit which made the room just survivable. It’s an old building which needs work. My impression is that the hotel group is milking profit from the location and using it for staff training. The staff I encountered were doing their best with great attitudes but clearly no real accountability or ownership with front desk managers coming and going on a daily basis. Almost felt a sense that they knew the building is working against them and having to deal with grumpy customers for a day to develop better service skills.

Pros: Excellent location for theatres in The Strand. We like having a kitchenette so we don't have to pay inflated prices for breakfast.

Cons: The room smelled a bit when I first moved in, especially the kitchenette, either it got better later or I got used to it. Linens were not changed during my stay (3 nights), but you sort of expect that with a serviced apartment. I would be better if we were told how often they change though.

Pros: We liked the location as we were visiting art galleries and also had a trip to the theatre. It is in a very convenient spot.

Cons: We found the room cold in the evening and could have done with another blanket or two, as the weather was very cold. The thermostat didn't appear to work. We woke up cold in the night.

Pros: The location was perfect and many of the tourist sights were within walking distance so we saved quite a bit on travel and travel fares.On a weekend visit you do not spend much time in the hotel,but I would stay here again because of the location.

Cons: I would advise people to avoid the £9 cost of breakfast and just walk round the corner to a small cafe and pay half the price.

Pros: Hotel is situated in the center of London, near Trufalgar Squere. Hotel visitors are provided with free high speed internet connection. There is no minibar in the room, but there is mini citchen. As for me I used it to make tea because a lot of restoraunts in 2-min walking distanse from the hotel are available. Hotel stuff is very friendly. Hotel visitors are required to pay in advance.
