I loved the location of the hotel!! We didn't realize that our view would be Big Ben, House of Parliment, Westminster Abbey and the London Eye. We were central to many of the attractions which made planning convienent (we only had to walk 5 mins for all of the above attractions and 10 mins for Buckingham Palace). We were also within walking distance to the tube, which was also easy to use:) I also loved the Concierge and Reception. They were all knowledgeable and helpful in assistancing us if needed. I was disappointed that the Spa and pool were not up to Marriot standards. I have stayed at several and when there was 'down time' I could count on being able to entertain the children in the pool area. The pool was small and the children were constantly in the way of those doing laps. Also, I did not see the whirlpool, even though it was listed as having one. Finally, the breakfast was great but expensive (20 pounds) considering that just around the corner in the same building, another hotel had the same breakfast for 7 pounds.
Staff was polite, restaurant staff excellent, the room was confortable and quiet. The room given on the first night was not corresponding to the family room booked on your site. Booking com was blaimed by the Hotel for this situation. We were moved to a more appropriate room for the next night. Checking at the reception is a slow process and a lot of time was lost in sorting out the confusion about the room
The location, comfort and ambience were second to none. The restaurant and bar staff do not appear to be trained at all - service was extremely poor and not in keeping wwith a 5 star hotel
It was very peacefull great place to relax no
close to all the things London has to offer spa pool and surrounds should be renovated
comfortable beds. big spacious rooms. clean bathroom. newly decorated. noisy heater/air con. why can't there just be radiators?
The staff was great. Rooms were spacious. Luxurious. Location was amazing. I loved it.
All the staff were extremely polite and helpful. The room was generous in size, certainly for London.
I loved the room and the facilities, the food and service was excellent and I would stay at the hotel again. The staff especially were very friendly and helpful.
Super hotel. Very pleasant staff. Like an oase in middel of busy city. Would like frigde in family rooms. Relaxed atmosphere. Helpful. Beautiful hotel, boys think it is oldfashioned, but I find that charming.
Helpfull stuff, good location, nice views, proximity to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and London Eye, comfortable beds. The hotel is very tired and old fashioned, a little gloomy, small rooms, endless corridors, we had to walk to our room from the elevator like 400 meters.
The location was awesome. We were close to everything and we were able to return to our room when the walking was too much. The bed was very uncomfortable. The springs were poking through, making it very difficult to get a good nights rest.
Location is excellent. Easy walk to many London sights. Quiet area. Next to the Tube Station. Nothing
location, close to underground, it was very noisy with people slamming doors
Right in the heart of London....easy to get anywhere throughout the city on foot or by tube in this location! Also, nice to have a pub attached to the hotel for any late-night food/drinking needs a traveler may have throughout their stay. There was some overnight/early morning noise in the alley adjacent to the hotel - seems like there is a recycling facility where lots of bottles can be heard being transferred from trucks to holding bins - not the hotels fault, but woke us up early a on a few of our days there.
Close to Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. Good restaurants around it. Taxis are easy to find. Bathrooms are small but you ate in Europe.
The room was very cold even with the heating up full blast. Food on room service was not good.
great location, quiet street, nice room no
Part of the hotel is a pub. It was freezing and the food was poor. Such a shame because the location is fantastic.
i liked best the staff's flexibility and friendly interaction. the single pane glass windows. there was a draft coming into the room, and in the morning the window will was filled with a puddle of water from all the condensation building up over night. the acoustics are pretty bad- you could hear all the construction going on outside, as well as the buses driving by, the guests in the pub, and the person in the next room coughing.
The location was great. We were just a block to the tube, and a block to a major intersection to catch buses and cabs. Our rooms were adorable, cozy, quiet and clean. Perfect spot for walks to St. James Park and Westminster Abbey. Whole family enjoyed food at the pub downstairs. There is major de-struction going on at an adjacent building, so some sidewalks and streets nearby were blocked. This also meant some construction noise, so don't expect to sleep too late in the mornings.
The Sanctuary House Hotel is a gorgeous centrally located hotel--2 blocks from Westminster Abbey. The rooms are clean and have lots of special little amenities that really make the stay that much more fun. The staff is very courteous & helpful. They went the extra mile to help us with everything we requested. I would highly, highly recommend this hotel.
The staff were friendly and polite. The facilities met our needs. The location was close to tube station and within easy reach of the places we wanted to visit in London
