Pros:The representatives in Atlanta were excellent. I liked the choice of vehicle.
Cons:The car was not completely clean. There were crumbs in the leather casing around the parking break and food residue near the gear shift.

Pros:It was easy to return the car.
Cons:First, we were sent to the wrong location. We took the airport trams how ever many stops to pick up our car and after waiting in line were informed that we had been sent to the wrong location. No one is allowed to drive TO the location that we were currently at (cabs/Uber) so we had to catch the tram and ride all the way back to the airport and get an Uber to take us ($24 fare) to the rental location. Second, once we arrived at the location, and after 25 minutes of waiting, we (and the 2 people in front of us and 11 people behind us) were told that they had been overbooked and we would have to wait for cars to be returned before they could give us anything. We all wrote our names on a piece of paper with a phone number and were basically sent on our way. BTW this location is in the middle of nowhere, so there is nothing to do but sit and wait with all of your luggage. Add to this the fact that there were only two desk agents working (with 3-4 others walking around. . . to sell cars?) and everyone was not pleased. BTW, we called their hotline to make other arrangements and the ONLY OPTION was to cancel our current reservation and make another one AT THE OTHER LOCATION and pay 'the current rate' which was TWICE our original quote. Third, they do not accept third party insurance. We purchased our insurance at the same time as the rental because we have been hit in the past with astronomical insurance rates. Phew, saved ourselves the hassle this time. Right? Nope, they do not accept third-party insurance.

Pros:The car was affordable and very easy to book. The car was clean. Check in was very easy.
Cons:Upon checkout, we were not given a receipt of any kind. We did went to the downstairs service desk to change the credit card we used and a man named Brian at the Phoenix airport was very rude to us. Demanded all this documentation, which we were not given upon turn-in. When I accessed the rental code for him, this seemed to be sufficient. We handed over our debit card and before we could even ask another question, he closed the door in our faces, like the Wizard of Oz.

Pros:Very basic SUV rental
Cons:Santa Fe had a lot of miles and did not ride well at all. the seats were uncomfortable and drove more like a truck. Was not pleasant to be in for long periods of time. The main hertz Office on Hwy 17 Mt Pleasant the associates were very unhelpful and did not seem to care. When I expressed interest in what type of vehicle I may be getting. They would not let me put in a preference and did not even attempt to help in anyway. They do not know anything about good customer service and to keep clients. The gentleman at the Brickyard location was very helpful when I returned it. That did leave a better impression on me.

Pros:I did end up with a car, after paying an extra $150.
Cons:Showed up to the rental at the Denver International Airport, They then said that Kayak booked the rental at a different car rental that was too far to get to. I then "conveniently" had to cancel the reservation and book a new one for an additional fee. it went from $150 to around $500. After talking a little bit more they lowered it to $273. I got the new confirmation number and went to complete the rental process. The lady working at the counter said "oh, this is a Thrify rental now" so they had to call a shuttle to take us to a Thrifty car rental after I had just gotten off the phone with the Hertz representative. They drove us to Thrify and the people there kept telling us that we had to go back to Hertz and that they didn't have the rental in their system. AI was pretty furious by this point, and the Wonderful people at Thrifty were able to just get us a rental and make it work out. I will never rent from Hertz or book through Kayak again.

Cons:System kept giving an error message about an age restriction that wasn’t accurate. Car was not full size. Took over an hour to complete rental check in.

Pros:Staff on the phone was awesome however when Picking up the car the person who assisted was not. Drop off was horrible just do to location.
Cons:More information on what it means to prepay would be helpful. You cannot make any changes once you prepay and this was not clearly stated anywhere.

Pros:Marilyn (at the Hertz counter at DFW) was so incredibly helpful. She was understanding of the challenges we were facing with picking up our rental car, and she ensured that we got a new rental for the original price to which we agreed. She spoke with representatives from customer service on my behalf to try to get them to agree to not charge me a cancellation fee.
Cons:I needed assistance from customer service (call center). The phone service was terrible and I could barely hear or understand the representatives. I needed to cancel a reservation twice (first due to the rental being made at the wrong airport and second due to an unknown expired license). They reimbursed the first reservation but then attempted to rebook a car for us for TWICE what I had originally agreed to pay. Then, when I attempted to cancel that reservation, they informed me that I could be required to pay the full amount (approximately $350) as a cancellation fee because I was cancelling after the car was already scheduled to be picked up (literally 10 minutes after making the reservation). We have been disputing the charge and have yet to hear if we are going to be charged or not. I was told three different times I would be sent emails, and I have yet to receive any of them. I do not blame Hertz for the initial issue as they were oversights on my part, but I was sorely disappointed with customer service’s ability to help and to try to take care of their customers.
