Tried to rip us off by adding almost 1000 USD to our bill to be able to rent the car. Scandalous! Never again. Avoid this place at all costs.

They wanted to force me buy their insurance. I have insurance through my credit card company yet they said it’s a mandate by California law. Scammers

A total scam - they charge enormous fees for insurance. I brought a copy of my credit card contract and they refused to let me get its coverage. It cost more for the insurance than the actual rental. Avoid these guys and go with someone who is legitimate and honest. I will never rent from them again. Ever!

We prepaid for a vehicle, pickup after 12pm- there was no way to change the pickup time when making reservations. Our flight didn't arrive until 5pm but given that we had prepaid for our desired vehicle, it seemed logical they would have one there for us. During my flight I get a notice that they canceled car reservation since had not picked up yet, even though it was prepaid! Upon landing, the main phone number would not provide me a phone number for the specific pickup location, said that they would not refund my money, and that i needed to go to the location to see in any car was available for me, at additional costs to me. So we had to leave the airport, unsure if we had a rental car, get to the car agency, and they only have SUVs available for TWICE the price of the car we had reserved! So we are stranded if we dont agree to the additional price. Very much a "Bait and Switch". Remember, we had PAID UP FRONT, there was no risk of them loosing rental money by holding our reserved car for us.

Pre paid car rental but cost of insurance was 3x the rental. Alexis was great and very polite helpful and great English as well worked thru conversations Drop off was easy.

Agent on site lied about coverage needed so I paid more than necessary, despite asking in Spanish about the legal minimums and requirements. Otherwise, the rental was fine, but I am unlikely to use this service again.

Kayak should know that Liability Insurance is mandatory in Costa Rica. Adds 350 to what they tell you the rental fee will be.

I returned the car after one day of a 4 day rental. The doors locks were compromised, the phone charger didn’t work, no blue tooth. They denied returning my insurance fees the the three days I did not have the car for. I would never recommend them.
