When we went to pickup the car the person at the front desk was asking us to pay double the price saying it’s for insurance. We waisted couple hours there and left without a car and needed to find alternative transportation. Also the place looked very shady and o my few cars there. Didn’t seem like legitimate place

Surely there is a better way to inform customers regarding the appropriate form of insurance before booking is complete. Surprises at the customer service counter can be a good thing but this was not a pleasant experience.

I spent over a decade in the armed services overseas, have physically crashed in a helicopter. But the only time in my life where I feared for my physical safety was driving in NU’s spray painted, bald tire death shuttle bus with its screaming wheel bearings, holding up everyone’s falling luggage as we careen 70mph down the instate. Also they lied to me at the check in to up sell me and I was extremely afraid they would lie about previous damages to the car because they came across as a scum level company, adding anxiety for my whole vacation. I also booked a awd car which they cancelled on me then gave me a fwd car. Which wouldn’t be all that bad if they didn’t later try to sell the awd car back to me at 400% my rate.

The clerk lied about how prepaid fuel works, and I was charged $60 extra for a tank of gas when I returned it 7/8 full. Had to pay for a cab, $20, as shuttle has restricted hours. Two shuttles to get there... Huge waste of time

I didn’t like that NU car rental was not truly at the airport. You have to take the train to the car rental area, to then take a shuttle off site to the actual rental place?! Why not just provide a shuttle from the airport and not worry about the train? Other than the inconvenience of that, the actual rental was great, nice staff, and was affordable.
