We missed the flight due to last minute cancellation of our originating flight from Rochester NY to Newark with United. The cost of changing our flight through Kayak for the next day was over $750 and the travel insurance I purchased through Kayak may not cover this event. I may never use Kayak again. Here we see the high cost of low price deals.

I didn’t like the service at the checking in Barcelone airport. It’s was horrible. The customer service is 0/100 I was really disappointed Never ever again on Norwegian From Newark it was great but from Barcelone. New airplane, Dreamliner

I bought premium tickets several months in advance but the airline overbooked those seats and we were placed on standby. Finally, we ended being downgraded to coach despite buying our tickets several months in advance without a reasonable excuse or compensation. The whole thing is very upsetting and disappointing.

Plane wasn’t packed full. Kind attendants.

People who want to stay up all night talking with lights on and poking the back of seats to select screen choices should be sitting together at the back of the plane. Red eye flights are painful enough, and providing a dark and uninterrupted flight for most people should be your priority. Please switch screen selection to arm rather than tapping on someone’s back !

We arrived at the airport at 9:00 to check in for our flight that was scheduled for departure at 12:15 and we were told that we could not check in until 2 hours before the flight (10:15). All of the passengers for flight AZ1466 lined up in front of a check-in counter that displayed Alitalia for our flight. At 10:45 they announced the check in for AZ1466 at a different check-in counter knowing full-well that everyone was lined up for flight AZ1466 on our line. So then everyone that was lined up at the first counter had to line up at the new counter. My wife and I were initially 3rd in line and then after we had to move we were in the very back of the line. On top of that, they only had 1 person checking everyone into economy (which was most of the people on the plane) and they also had to weigh everyone’s carry-on baggage. We were initially told they had weather issues with the snow in Rome and they did not know if we would take off on time or would be cancelled. However, I was getting e-mail messages from Kayak stating our flight was on-time. So how is it that a 3rd party travel company knew what was going on, but the crew at Alitalia did not? Afterward I had to go through security, wait on the tax refund line, and go straight to board the plane. After that we waiting on the plane for 50 minutes and did not take-off until 1:05 PM. These were the problems in short: 1.No one informed us that we could not check in at this particular airport until 2 hours prior to flight departure. 2.They did not begin the check in process until 90 minutes prior to departure. 3.We had to switch check-in lines and they only had 1 check-in person. 4.We had no time to shop or eat lunch at the airport. 5.We boarded the plane and waited until 13:05 to takeoff when we were scheduled to take off at 12:15 (50 minute delay). 6.We received no communications about delays from Alitalia (via e-mail or app). However, we received e-mails from Kayak stating everything was on time. We had no communication from Alitalia about the delay or that we could not check in early (which you could do at every other airport I have been to). We also had a connecting flight in Rome that we were concerned we would miss. We arrived at Rome airport on a delayed flight out of Marco Polo airport (AZ1466). Our 13:40 flight to JFK (AZ610) was delayed until 14:45. After we arrived at Rome airport we ran through the airport to our gate and boarded the plane. After we boarded the plane we waited until 16:10 to take-off (85 minute delay). We did not receive any communication from Alitalia via e-mail, the Alitalia app, or crew members that our flight was being delayed any longer than it already was. We planned on stopping to use the bathrooms in the airport, eat a decent lunch, and shop (which I promised my wife we could do at the airport). In Business Class, the seats did not recline all the way to become flat. Other airlines (including Qatar and Etihad) have seats which become flatbeds even in 3 hour long flights. Very disappointed that Turkish does not have that options from IST to ISB. The boarding experience from IAD-IST was excellent...but it was the opposite from IST-ISB.

I had only 70 minutes transfer time and had to spend almost all of that time standing in line to go through security after just arriving from another flight!! I ran to the gate and was the last person through before it closed. I asked about my two bags and was told they were accounted for. Hardly believing it but glad to at least have made it I boarded. When I arrived in Zurich, sure enough my bags arrived too! Was very pleasantly surprised!

Though no fault of Turkish Airlines, having to go through security after just getting off one flight was stressful even if it might have been necessary. Almost missed my flight. The security area is not properly designed for accomodating many people at one time and the officials (actually two cleaning personnel) who did not speak anything but Turkish were manning the entrance. Even when I showed them my boarding pass they just rudely shooed me away!

The security area is not properly designed for accomodating many people at one time and the officials (actually two cleaning personnel) who did not speak anything but Turkish were manning the entrance. Even when I showed them my boarding pass they just rudely shooed me away!

I was very disappoint with this time using turkish airline5 services. I paid fir my seats with my ticket and they don't give it me and service was not as same as used it before. Wasn't happy at all. I don't thing i will used it again.

The flight crew was amazing- very pleasant and hospitable. There was great entertainment available which made the flight go quickly. The food was good. We did not realize we had to select vegetarian ahead of time, but having cheese sandwiches available made that easier. The small bag of toiletries that we were given was a very nice surprise.

Carrying luggage down stairs after the flight was difficult but the flight team was helpful.
