Breakfast is good
Everything was new Because it was so new it still smelt incredibly strongly of paint, affecting our sleep and health, the breakfast was incredibly poor- we complained and left, the manager accepted our complaint and did not charge.
The breakfast was absolutely excellent. The fitness room and internet were convenient. Subway access required carrying luggage up stairs.
very nice hotel, good location in Prenzlauerberg. Quiet and cosy. Nice backyard Breakfast buffet is ok, not up to the hotel standards.
A nice clean hotel, with quiet rooms in a good location. Not the hotel's fault, but hard to find a car park nearby and train station across the road is closed for renovations.
Its very central and close to underground. no air conditioner and it can be a bit noise durant the night.
the location in the city, the standard of the hotel, the service no
Excellent service, good value, comfortable room, good location. The 'kitchenette' was too small to be of much use. Okay for tea coffee etc.
The neighbourhood around the hotel (many bars) and its location in general. I liked the sunny room and also the warm bathroom. I did not like the beds as they were two of them brought close together instead of having one bed for 2 persons. There was only one computer in the ...fitness room. Breakfast could be better for a 4-star hotel. In general I would say the hotel was good but as a 3-star hotel and not 4.
Zarenhof is well situated in Prenzlauer-Berg, with good connections especeially to Mitte and Alexanderplatz, but also to other parts of Berlin. The area is nice with many small restaurants and shops. The hotel is tidy, clean and quiet and it offers a fairly good breakfast. Many of the rooms are rather large. The bathrooms with showers are small and easily get more ore less flooded when using the shower. There is no service in the hotel at night time, except for the reception, which is situated in another building by the street, whereas the hotel is by an inner yard.
Very clean, quiet, tv.... Shame I couldn't reserved rooms with credit card....He only takes cash payment.....
It is in one of the best part of Berlin, much Cafè and Restaurant, Pub.It's also not noisy. Rooms are clean and cool. The owner is very helpful. S-Bahn and U-Bahn five to ten minutes away. Very good!
Pension Micheal is located in one of the most central area of Berlin. In the area there are many restaurants, bars and pubs. Mosty not german. The payment must be done in advance via a bank transfer to the Pension's owner (he is very funny and pleasent!!). The room is for 2 people.
Mr Grobler is a great person. The appartments are clean and calm. I don't regret any euros :) Don't hesitate anymore !
It was very quiet inside the pension and in the surroundings. The most appreciated was to have not more than +22C degrees in our room when it was almost +40C outside (there was no conditioner but the room stayed cool anyway), the fridge was very useful too as cold drinks were just necessary. I loved a small kitchen in the room. It's especially comfortable if you travel with kids I believe. Maybe it was not hotel's location but bad luck. The pension is located not far from Schönhauser Alle metro station which one together with the next one towards the center of Berlin were under renovation until the 11th of November 2010. It was not comfortable to wait for substitute busses and then change for metro especially as the busses were out of traffic at times. We had to pay too much for the taxi rides within our stay. All the trips from the hotel took too much time every time because S-Bahn didn't help for destinations we took. This location next to Mauer park is in general great for those who want to relax and hang out in bars and restaurants in Prenzlauer Berg, it's a bit too far from everything if you want to go sight seeing
Location: very close to Mauer Park where there is a lively flea market on Sundays; also close to many bars and restaurants in the Prenzlauer Berg district. This is definitely one of the nicest areas in Berlin if you like to enjoy a drink and food in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. The room was clean and spacious, and the private bathroom and kitchen are an extra luxury that is not always available in this price category. Noise: the rooms face the inner garden of an apartment complex, where every sound seemed to be enhanced ten times. We were woken up early every morning from the noise. So: excellent location for people that want to get up early for full-day sightseeing etc., but less ideal for those that want to enjoy the Berlin nightlife and sleep-in.
Very good location, close to U and S Bahn. Huge bathroom, good kitchen facilities etc. You could really set up base there for a while and be self-sufficient. The cost appeared to be reasonable. The financial and booking arrangements were awkward. Michael wanted half the total cost in advance including part of a cleaning fee. This involved me sending 48 euros to a specified account in Germany. I had to pay $20 Australian to my bank as an additional fee . Michael emailed back saying 36 euros had arrived. When I arrived in Berlin, I rang him on his mobile as requested and found my way to the Pension which is in a bright orange building clearly labelled. He wasn't there and arrived about 30 minutes later after I had rung every bell, knocked on every door and made enquiries of everyone around. He could not explain the missing 12 euros, trying to shift the blame on to my bank. I like the booking.com approach and this was an aberratio
very charming and hospitable atmosphere We came very late and unannounced so they were a little unprepared for us but they pulled through beautifully.
Linnen was an extremely charming, beautiful place to stay. The hotel was decorated with care and attention to detail. Its in a wonderful location close to a Flea Market that occurs every Sunday, public transportation, and an interesting neighborhood.
