Turkish airlines did not even bother to help with accommodations, instead giving my wife and I a small bed to sleep in vs a hotel room. The only way to get a hotel room was to leave the airport, and we could not get Visas because we were American citizens. Turkish airlines was a very bad experience. Overall this was a poor experience, and I will not fly Turkish Airlines again. I will make sure my friends and family know that this is a poor airline with poor customer service."

Cons: "I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."

The flight attendant kept trying to give me different headphones...it wasn't the headphones that were the problem!! He never really addressed the issue or coordinated a possible seat change (even though there were empty seats in business class)."

Of the 4 automatic e-visa machines onlyEv 1 was working and there was a long queue. In between the machine stopped working for a long time and no one was there to assist or restart. They gave our boarding passes for the next days flight and their responsibility was over. We had to wait for over an hour to get the hotel. Overall it was a bad experience."

After booking a day-room at a local hotel, I checked in on-line and discovered for 115 euros I could have upgraded to business class, with luggage included, and been accommodated on schedule changes. My suggestion to Lufthansa is if they intend to rip their customers off it's best NOT TO LET THEM FIND OUT ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE, or if they're simply too incompetent to match marketing offers to their booking department they could save considerable income and reputation by closing the ticket office. As it was, the impression was a low-class money grab. It's not like they can count on their partnership with United to make them look good."

Pros: "Nothing. According to Aeroflot, Russia and Belarus are one country. I don't need a visa for Belarus, and I transit through the Moscow SVO several times per year with no problems. Today, Aeroflot denied my boarding and said that I need a visa to be in the Moscow airport. They said that Belarus "is considered to be" a domestic flight in Russia, while they also admitted that Belarus is a separate and independent state."
Cons: "Kayak, if this is, in fact, correct, why did you sell me a ticket to transit in Moscow? You have my passport information. I demand a full refund immediately."

Cons: "1 hour late, sitting in the plane in tel aviv, with no explanation whatsoever. Then when arrived to Moscow after plane taxiing, STILL 1 hour INSIDE THE PLANE without letting the people out!!! I Missed my train and I will have to stay a night in moscow for nothing!! Horrible experience. I will never in my life fly aeroflot again."

Cons: "If you do not know any Russian, it will be difficult. The staff on this flight spoke very little English. Think about it, I was in Siberia. That would be like expecting the flight attendant to speak Russian in Oklahoma. Try learning Russian words for drinks and snacks, that would be a good starting point."

Cons: "The flight was good overall, but the boarding crew in Moscow (that was after a transit) didn't let me take my guitars up on the airplane, different from what I agreed on at the first flight, where I paid 200 USD to take it with me on the plane. By the time the trolley arrived to our sits the food options were no longer available to chose from. The head of the flight attendants arrived to supposedly apologize for the inconvenience, but the attitude and feel was like she was looking for a fight and not at all to find a solution or to please us."

The other lady almost screaming at me saying "wait' . I was not sure even whether she said that "wait" or somethingelse in English. Sometimes all of them were gigling. Call out the last bording call not using a microphone. It looked unprofessional. All of them left before my actual flight but wanted to report this. I was very upset that I couldn't get answers about whether I was in the right place and wanted to know that the bording process."

Brought an adaptor, but it broke mid flight, leaving me with only their cheap headphones as an option. Also dislike boarding by bus from the gate. Would expect the flagship airline to get a proper gate at their hub for a large flight on a major route."

Then we had to climb steep steps in extremely hot weather. We were swearing in the heat for an hour!! We arrived at our destination and hour and half late!!"

Queued for nearly two hours before some airport employee gave us instructions to travel by train without any other information or tickets etc. Had to buy my ticket. Couldn’t recuperate my suitcase. Had to wait for it the next day for three hours. Up to this hour I don’t know how I am going to be reimbursed (train and plane)."

These are NORMAL seats and you charge an extra €30? - Normal (2 seats per row!): what a bargain. Same crappy seats, but two people instead of three! This is really worth my money. - Upgrade to business! Why are you so poor! AF food went from being the best in international flights to disgusting microwave food (especially vegetarian)."

Cons: "Flight was at 10:30pm. Waited at the gate from 9:00-10:40 with no news. Nobody knew what was going on or what we were waiting for. Finally at 10:40 they announced that the flight would be delayed, even though we had figured it out by then. At 11 the flight crew showed up. We finally boarded at 11:30 and we arrived an hour late to our destination. They offered drinks to the 2 people flying "business class" (they were just sitting in the front but amongst the economy class seats) at the very beginning, but then waited to serve everyone else, but as it was late, most people were already sleeping. We arrived an hour late."

Cons: "We were put in the last row of seats, which don't recline, though the row in front of you reclines into you and you are trapped. One of the flight attendants was rude when we were trying to deal with our child who had vomited. CDG (Charles DeGaulle airport) is poorly laid out and poorly run, in my opinion, starting with the landing of our flight. After waiting over a half an hour after landing to de-board, we were given much information In trying to get to the proper places to check certain baggage items, and we walked up and down and around a whole terminal trying to get to the proper gait. This is not the first time I've had a bad experience at this airport. Thankfully, the flight itself after that horrendous experience was good."

Too many other good options out there."
