Cons: I went to check into my room after having lunch. I said I would meet a coworker there. I got there and our waitress came out and talked to me in a very loud voice saying that none of us had paid for lunch, and that it was going to come out of her salary, and that I had to give her my charge card and pay for all the lunches. I told her that was not so as I saw each of us settle up our tabs. I turned around to leave and went down the escalator after I saw my friend was not there and got another text that he was downstairs. She followed me downstairs loudly saying that we had not paid our bills and that she was going to call security. At the bottom of the escalator she found security. They all followed me back upstairs and by then my friend that I was supposed to meet joined us. I was a bit upset because I knew we all paid our bills. He was pretty calm and said what will it take to just get this taken care of for now so we can meet our friends for dinner and will come back later. She just kept insisting there was nothing that could be done except to pay for all three lunches. It was also interesting that as soon as I got to my room there was a phone call verifying that I was just eating in the restaurant and I still wonder if that was not part of the scam. We finally got through to a manager. After explaining the story again, she went over to a register and looked and found all three of our signed receipts for lunch. She admitted that I should never have been treated like that and guess what, all of our lunches are comped on her! Although it was very unnerving, everything turned out well and the hotel room was just fine.

Cons: Staff gave me key to wrong room upon check-in. The rooms have seen better days...seem a bit beat-up. The tile on the lobby floors and in elevators was obviously installed before suitcases with wheels became common.

Cons: A little bit noise whether stay in high floor or in low floor, and the bathroom is too small for a 4 star hotel.

Cons: You're still downtown, so you walk out and it's a lot of homeless and the streets smell of urine, bad. The hotel staff is in no hurry for anything. Toom service took 1.5-2 hours and we even had a package delivered and they never bothered to bring it up. After three hours we told them forget it we'll get it ourselves. Cleaning staff is super nice. They were doing construction there so don't bother trying to nap during the day, because they were jack hammering the lobby. For the money I think there's better.

Cons: Unresponsive staff. Examples: (1) concierge and room service rang out after trying repeatedly reach them for 10 and 15 minutes; (2) waitstaff in bar/dining area was slow and inattentive; (3) we needed 2 extra blankets and they initially resisted until we convinced them we were using all the blankets in the room and were still cold; (4) the food and beverages were overpriced and barely mediocre.

Cons: For the price that you pay, the gym should should have a more equipment.

Cons: Price a bit high, bathroom could use renovation (but was perfectly functional). A light in the closet would be very helpful.

Cons: I felt $64.00 for overnight parking per day is a bit much. I could stomach $50.00 but it was way too overpriced.

Cons: The thermostat in our room was broken and it was way too hot. We tried re-setting it several times but it kept blowing hot air even though it was 75F. It was very difficult to sleep and sweated through the night. The shower pressure was very low. Having both shower head choices was nice, but it was difficult to feel clean because the water pressure was very low and so it took much longer to soap off. For a business hotel, you had to pay for internet. We used a hotspot instead. It felt a bit confused whether it was a luxury hotel or a business hotel, and for the price point I would stay somewhere else that has better value for money. Not having a good night sleep really affected my work day

Cons: Check out was at 12:00pm as normal but was woken up by maid knocking on door at 9:15am. Charged my credit card $100.00 more than what was on invoice when I checked out. To be refunded within 5days or so supposedly....... It would have been nice to know beforehand.

Cons: Every time I’m here, hotel is always busy, so rooms usually aren’t available until 3:00. They do have an ambassador program for extra perks, but it’s only good for intercontinental hotels and not the chain of hotels it’s associated with. Water pressure in shower is low, but it’s a roomy shower.

Cons: Someone kept requesting housekeeping to my room at odd hours of the night and I was charged parking when I didn't drive or have guests. I requested a late check out yet housekeeping kept checking to see if I had left every 2 hours.

Cons: If you plan to stay here long just know that no room cleaning is done until you check out. My stay was for 6 nights and I was only informed that my room would be cleaned on the 5th day when I was checking in. I know this is due to covid and them being careful but which person what to stay in a room that’s not being cleaned?! On the 3rd day I asked for my room to be cleaned and since they have a time that cleaning is done - it was done on the 4th day.

Cons: There was a "bouncer" type employee at night who gave me and the girls staying at the hotel a hard time. He required every girl to have a key in their hand to get in, even though we just had one person per room have a key because we didn't think it was necessary. He was extremely rude and borderline harassing.

Cons: I could hear noise from other rooms through the vents late at night. Food was just okay. And $62 for Self Parking is ludicrous for a half-empty garage - even in San Francisco. It was almost half the price of the room. No good.

Cons: Parking situation was not good. The hotel has first come first serve self parking because of COVID but charge valet prices still. The parking lot was full so I had to find use a public parking lot.

Cons: Everything was overpriced, maybe I’m not a 4.5 star hotel guy. Parking was $70/night incl tax (after 1st night I parked outside), water in room was $8. I needed some antacid at night, 2 tabs of pepto=$2. I guess I was expecting more, or it’s really for people who will use the bar and drink more. Water pressure in shower was too low.

Cons: There was no hair dryer, the room was dirty, there was a sock under the bed, a mask on the chair, and leftover food in the mini fridge.

Cons: I didnt like the fact that when u drive in to check in they dont tell u that the charge for parking is 65$ . Also that the water thats in the room thats bottled i didnt know they would charge me 8:50$ for it. Ridiculous! I seen when i checkd out!

Cons: The location for us was a bit too close to some seedy areas of town. No problem, but you need to be careful which way you walk.

Cons: We were next to a family that had several rooms. Doors were slamming all night. Loud noise,kids crying. We had to finally call down to front desk but it continued all night. Uncomfortable

Cons: I booked this reservation months in advance for a large group, and still, upon check-in there was alot of miscommunication and confusion about the reservation (how many rooms, names on the reservation, etc). Staff was not warm or particularly helpful at all, there was an obvious lack of hospitably and willingness to help that you receive at most hotels. The hotel itself is average, its very old and outdated inside, the walls are thin so u hear conversations next door, and the rooms are small. There were very limited hours for the restaurant/lounge downstairs, and overall was just someolace you'd go to sleep and thats it. It really was just ok. Many other hotels in the area that offered more for the price. I wouldnt stay there again.

Cons: Furniture in lobby needs cleaning or reupholstering. Looks dated. Bathroom was small and dark. I was there 5 days and one of the elevators was out of service for 3 of those days.

Cons: Noise level in the rooms. Windows do not block out the noise from the streets so you can hear Grace Cathedral bells and the cable cars which is great but also the loud drunks in the middle of the night as well.

Cons: House keeping kept knocking on door throughout trip despite do not deserve sign. Room of 5-7 very drunk women being loud and disruptive throughout the night. I definitely did not think it was a party hotel when I booked it. Didn’t get much sleep as a result. Not what I was looking for.

Cons: This place would be great, but it need a renovation. It just looks like it hasn't been kept up in some time. Needs some fresh paint and some updates. It's in an area that not much is going on also

Cons: Dark bathroom, dated room in general...for the money I prefer the Fairmont.

Cons: A bit run down in appearance and small old elevators. Poor customer service upon check. We were given a hard sale to sign up for hotel program upon arrival.

Cons: Not a big complaint or huge discomfort, but we like to sleep in a cool room but the thermostat would not let us lower temp below 60 degrees.

Cons: Air temperature is controlled by the front desk. You will need to call them to adjust (really, are we in the 1970s???)-unbelievable). The air condition smelled like mildew and gave me a headache the following day. My roommate kept coughing the whole night which we suspect was due to the mildew coming out of the A/C vent. Bathroom floor was not cleaned. Found gross hair (and other too gross to mention) on the floor. Corners underneath the sink have dust balls. the bathroom toilet plastic seat was burned that it looked like you poured acid on it. I cannot believe they have not replaced it. The electric plug in the bathroom is not secured and about to fall off, the hair dryer would not turn on because of the faulty plug. (Again, really????) So disappointing as when I think of Hilton, I think safe, clean and decent...not the SF union square. Front desk was very unfriendly. No welcome or "enjoy your stay" greeting. He couldn't find our reservation. When I showed him the confirmation number, he gave me the look and said "oh that's hotel.com's"...whatever that meant. As if he was treating us 3rd class as we had not booked it directly with them. After a few minutes, he finally found our reservation. Again, very unpleasant.

Cons: There was a whistling sound coming from my window when the wind blew. The window was fixed, so it was not slightly open. The sound made it difficult to sleep at night, so I had to put on a white noise maker from my smartphone to be able to sleep. No free wifi in conference facilities was annoying.

Cons: The room was a little small but they had it designed so nicely and utilized their space so well that it didn't even matter.

Cons: I landed, completely sleep deprived, at what my body thought was 1am. Maybe that's why I had such an adverse reaction to a very lively bar whose sounds echoed through the entire lobby. In fact, it seemed to take up the entire lobby as it spilled into seating that i had to walk through to get to registration. I could hardly hear the staff member trying to check me in.

Cons: The tub water was not flowing, full of hair stuck in the drain! Not cool to call maintained guy for trying to take a shower after a long day, guy gave us attitude for the call and ended up cleaning it almost at midnight. Overpriced parking for one night stay, almost $60!!!

Cons: The A/C in my room was broken and it took about 3 hours for someone to come in and fix it. The room was stuffy and hot. We left to go get a bite to eat and returned to find out that they had not fixed it nor were we getting another room. Just off of the staff interaction I most likely would not return.
