Cons: The main building although grand, is a little dated. The refurbished rooms are good, but the particular room I was in the door didn't fully open because the wall gets in the way, so for room service the trolley couldn't be wheeled in, food had to be carried in from the door, and there wasn't really any table to put the food on, only the writing desk or the fold out mini bar. I had to call for slippers

Cons: However, I was very surprised that the ice maker on our floor did not work, and there was a chocolate wrapper on a table by the elevator for our three day stay??? With all that opulence, did not get that???

Cons: Totally preference but the beds are too soft and frankly the food is over priced for the quality. It's clear the food has not been under a real chefs direction for a while but these are relatively minor complaints

Cons: Expensive

Cons: Upon checking in, they didn't have our room available until the next day. Not sure how that even happens, but after talking to the manager, he miraculously was able to get our room. I had an allergic reaction to the laundry detergent they use on the bed sheets and my eyes swelled up. I was told that if you have allergies, you need to call in advance to make sure they wash the bedding with hyper-allergenic detergent (they normally use Dawn). For the inconveniences, they did comp me my room service.

Cons: VERY expensive parking. The hotel contracts with a parking service and valet is the only option. Prepare to spend over $70 a night to park at the hotel, but this is the only option unless you want to walk miles and miles.

Cons: Cost of overnight parking

Cons: I felt $64.00 for overnight parking per day is a bit much. I could stomach $50.00 but it was way too overpriced.

Cons: The receptionist lied to me about the parking fee Later the hotel charge me 75 USD for overnight parking

Cons: Staff gave me key to wrong room upon check-in. The rooms have seen better days...seem a bit beat-up. The tile on the lobby floors and in elevators was obviously installed before suitcases with wheels became common.

Cons: I wish that the rooms were a little bit bigger

Cons: Unresponsive staff. Examples: (1) concierge and room service rang out after trying repeatedly reach them for 10 and 15 minutes; (2) waitstaff in bar/dining area was slow and inattentive; (3) we needed 2 extra blankets and they initially resisted until we convinced them we were using all the blankets in the room and were still cold; (4) the food and beverages were overpriced and barely mediocre.

Cons: Lack of aesthetics, just tired and drab. Parking is just ok

Cons: You're still downtown, so you walk out and it's a lot of homeless and the streets smell of urine, bad. The hotel staff is in no hurry for anything. Toom service took 1.5-2 hours and we even had a package delivered and they never bothered to bring it up. After three hours we told them forget it we'll get it ourselves. Cleaning staff is super nice. They were doing construction there so don't bother trying to nap during the day, because they were jack hammering the lobby. For the money I think there's better.

Cons: Bathrooms are small and outdated. Overnight parking is $34.00.

Cons: The Food Selection and quality was Very Bad, for a hotel that size and location. The $60.00 Plus a Night to valet a Car Is Crazy,

Cons: I went to check into my room after having lunch. I said I would meet a coworker there. I got there and our waitress came out and talked to me in a very loud voice saying that none of us had paid for lunch, and that it was going to come out of her salary, and that I had to give her my charge card and pay for all the lunches. I told her that was not so as I saw each of us settle up our tabs. I turned around to leave and went down the escalator after I saw my friend was not there and got another text that he was downstairs. She followed me downstairs loudly saying that we had not paid our bills and that she was going to call security. At the bottom of the escalator she found security. They all followed me back upstairs and by then my friend that I was supposed to meet joined us. I was a bit upset because I knew we all paid our bills. He was pretty calm and said what will it take to just get this taken care of for now so we can meet our friends for dinner and will come back later. She just kept insisting there was nothing that could be done except to pay for all three lunches. It was also interesting that as soon as I got to my room there was a phone call verifying that I was just eating in the restaurant and I still wonder if that was not part of the scam. We finally got through to a manager. After explaining the story again, she went over to a register and looked and found all three of our signed receipts for lunch. She admitted that I should never have been treated like that and guess what, all of our lunches are comped on her! Although it was very unnerving, everything turned out well and the hotel room was just fine.

Cons: Room needs renovation. Restroom is small, couldn't find light switch when we get in the room. Booked king bed room and was given a double bed room, staff told us nothing they could do. They did give us some credit but only end up buying some water, because there is none in the room.

Cons: For the price that you pay, the gym should should have a more equipment.

Cons: No free bottle water

Cons: Someone kept requesting housekeeping to my room at odd hours of the night and I was charged parking when I didn't drive or have guests. I requested a late check out yet housekeeping kept checking to see if I had left every 2 hours.

Cons: The location for us was a bit too close to some seedy areas of town. No problem, but you need to be careful which way you walk.

Cons: Valet parking fee is crazy high!

Cons: There was a "bouncer" type employee at night who gave me and the girls staying at the hotel a hard time. He required every girl to have a key in their hand to get in, even though we just had one person per room have a key because we didn't think it was necessary. He was extremely rude and borderline harassing.

Cons: Every time I’m here, hotel is always busy, so rooms usually aren’t available until 3:00. They do have an ambassador program for extra perks, but it’s only good for intercontinental hotels and not the chain of hotels it’s associated with. Water pressure in shower is low, but it’s a roomy shower.

Cons: Restaurant and food options are really limited for such a nice hotel

Cons: Everything was overpriced, maybe I’m not a 4.5 star hotel guy. Parking was $70/night incl tax (after 1st night I parked outside), water in room was $8. I needed some antacid at night, 2 tabs of pepto=$2. I guess I was expecting more, or it’s really for people who will use the bar and drink more. Water pressure in shower was too low.

Cons: The thermostat in our room was broken and it was way too hot. We tried re-setting it several times but it kept blowing hot air even though it was 75F. It was very difficult to sleep and sweated through the night. The shower pressure was very low. Having both shower head choices was nice, but it was difficult to feel clean because the water pressure was very low and so it took much longer to soap off. For a business hotel, you had to pay for internet. We used a hotspot instead. It felt a bit confused whether it was a luxury hotel or a business hotel, and for the price point I would stay somewhere else that has better value for money. Not having a good night sleep really affected my work day

Cons: The room stunk! For $600 get some air freshener.

Cons: Check out was at 12:00pm as normal but was woken up by maid knocking on door at 9:15am. Charged my credit card $100.00 more than what was on invoice when I checked out. To be refunded within 5days or so supposedly....... It would have been nice to know beforehand.

Cons: Parking situation was not good. The hotel has first come first serve self parking because of COVID but charge valet prices still. The parking lot was full so I had to find use a public parking lot.

Cons: If you plan to stay here long just know that no room cleaning is done until you check out. My stay was for 6 nights and I was only informed that my room would be cleaned on the 5th day when I was checking in. I know this is due to covid and them being careful but which person what to stay in a room that’s not being cleaned?! On the 3rd day I asked for my room to be cleaned and since they have a time that cleaning is done - it was done on the 4th day.

Cons: We were next to a family that had several rooms. Doors were slamming all night. Loud noise,kids crying. We had to finally call down to front desk but it continued all night. Uncomfortable

Cons: There was no hair dryer, the room was dirty, there was a sock under the bed, a mask on the chair, and leftover food in the mini fridge.

Cons: Honestly I cant think of a single thing... The hotel is working hard to protect their guests and are constantly cleaning/sanitizing... Very grateful!

Cons: The heater didn't really do much, the room was cold and it was a pain to get out of the blanket. And, there was so much hollering from the street front.

Cons: When we arrived the room felt cold to us. We are from a much warmer climate than SF. Turned on the heater and didn't heat up. Called the front desk and was told the heat in the building was on a timer...comes on at 9pm (it's a radiator). They offered to send up a space heater.Within minutes we had a space heater. Problem solved. Great staff and super friendly.

Cons: The bathroom was very small & felt a little cramped. There was no free parking but this is to be expected in a city.

Cons: I didn't like the price, but that's to be expected in San Francisco! The building is old so the walls seems paper thin to outside noise, but not really from room to room, so didn't mind the sound of cars and people walking.

Cons: Rooms are very small and the neighborhood is not safe.

Cons: (1) Rooms at lower levels are noisy from the people in the street. (2) It had no parking counter to what advertised. They push on you a mandatory valet at approximately $40/day. (3) Internet is free for 20 min a day. Nevertheless, when you use it, at their business center, they have a slow mode option you do not know of. You find out at the check out that the default option, you thought was free for 20 min, is the fast option that cost approximately $1/min. (3) The streets in front of the hotel are full with homeless people who use the sidewalks like sleeping quarters and restrooms. For the rest, it was peachy.

Cons: The floor of the bathtub was slippery, so I had to be very mindful when showering. There is however a short rail / bar along the shower wall that came in handy when stepping into the bathtub. Like many buildings in SF, it's an old building and the walls are a bit thin. You occasionally hear sounds through the walls (i.e. steps, hallway chatter, clunks of objects moving through the hallways), but nothing out of the ordinary.

Cons: Our overall experience was wonderful. There were a couple of minor details that could use checking. The shower drain was slow and the bathroom sink counter was beginning to show signs of rust. Might check into a sealer as we know it's only 4 months old and could tell that the staff was making an effort to keep everything really nice.

Cons: - The room was not clean - Bathroom was not clean - Appliances were old and paint was coming out of them.

Cons: There really weren't hardly any complains about hotel Zephyr minus a few small ammenities. We would've liked to have had a microwave in our room but it wasn't really an inconvenience anyhow. The gym was a little small and could've used some more equipment but again, wasn't a big inconvenience at all.

Cons: Soundproof was rather poor. I can hear people walking by my room and chatting very clearly.

Cons: 1. $$ To park 2. Need to step up their maintenance/housekeeping practices 3. Courtyard is a great idea but needs a refresh.

Cons: The hotel was under major construction which we were not aware of in the slightest prior to booking the room. The room lacked more than a single mirror and there was no door on the closet (this wasn't a huge issue, but in a way it served as the icing on the cake for what was a pretty horrible hotel experience). I'm a Club Carlson member, and after that experience I am in no hurry to book a room at another affiliated hotel.

Cons: Could hear guests above us all night walking around. But the biggest downer was that while they advertise poking is available they don't tell you it's $49 a day

Cons: Rooms were a little small. No coffee service in lobby and would have liked a breakfast bar.

Cons: I wish I didn't upgrade my room. Not sure what my original room would have been like, but the only thing I liked about the room I upgraded to was seeing the bay. But there was black hair on the bathroom hair which I assume was from the maids or people who stayed before me. There were two things left behind from the people before, so it made me question how clean the room really was. I didn't sleep well because of where the room was located. I could hear the outside door to the stairwell open and slam shut. A group of people tried getting into my room because the front desk gave them the wrong room number. Overall I was disappointed and if I knew it would have been this way I could have saved myself some money.

Cons: Unknowingly, we asked for a view room. We got a great room with swell views of the bay, piers, etc. However, that meant we were just across from the VERY loud street performers. And the idiots flooring their cars at 1 a.m. with modified mufflers. I suggest certainly staying at this hotel, but ask for an inside room.

Cons: My car was broken into in their locked parking garage. Got parking garage fee refunded. That was the extent of their apology.

Cons: Having to pay 50 dollars for one night of parking. Absolutely ridiculous. Also, no fridge or microwave. Sleep number bed wasn't working. For $250 a night I definitely expected more.

Cons: The food choices at the hotel. The camper is touted as having food that is locally sourced and fresh, but when we looked at the menu, the only choices were personal pizzas and one soup. We got the pizzas and we're not impressed.

Cons: Congested traffic around the hotel during the holiday weekend.

Cons: We paid extra for a king size bed and were put into a double size MURPHY bed! What a joke, we were so uncomfortable all night and the bed sloped downward toward the head of the bed so the blood was rushing to our head while we slept. Worst night of sleep ever and they had overbooked their hotel so they couldn't move us! I will not be staying there again!

Cons: Staff was hit or miss. Although the valets were very friendly, they weren't readily available.

Cons: 1. Under construction. ...need I say more. 2. A new remodeled room had no bathroom counter space w/ a pedestal sink. Only mirror in bathroom.

Cons: Rooms are nice but very basic. No mirror other than bathroom and no microwave. Definitely not worth $300+ a night.

Cons: Because we were in the center of the main attractions of San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, it was noisy. Both from the street and people talking in the hallway. It made it difficult to sleep. Also, I didn't know how to use the Sleep Number bed.

Cons: $50 + taxes to park per night. The fire pits were not working during our stay, and they were not apologetic for that. That was one of the main reasons why we decided to stay at this hotel.
