Pros: The newly renovated rooms are every nice. When we first checked in though, we were given a room on the ground floor, right next to the office with two single beds. This room was quite crappy and old, and there was renovations going on directly outside the window. We asked for a room with one bed, and were given a much nicer room higher up and on the back side of the hotel.
Cons: The older rooms are quite crappy, and I would not have stayed in that. Also, being winter, the A/C is turned off. But, it's hard to open the window, so our room was quite hot. An there was no working fan.

Pros: Staff is friendly, fantastic service. Rooms were clean and for the reason of my stay it was fine. It had everything I expected. Location is very good specially for walking. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family.

Pros: My boyfriend and I stayed here with extended family for a week. Great location, everyone that worked there was really nice/helpful and the rooms were great. So happy to have stayed here during our European adventure!
Cons: Breakfast/buffet was not included in our stay but there are great little breakfast spots for a cheaper price right down the road from the hotel. workout facilities were a little older

Pros: it was a 6 bed dormitory; the bed was comfortable, they have individual reading lights and sockets, two toilets and two showers which is convenient. The location was perfect, it is a three minute walk from Sol and the metro station. The breakfast buffet is worth it, the food was great.
Cons: I liked everything about this hostel, definitely my go to for Madrid.

Cons: The shower in the 4 bedroom; it was out in the open without a lock, no privacy. It was uncomfortable when there is men and women in the same room, I had to put a towel and clothes on the shower door.

Pros: Walking distance from pretty much everything (bars, restaurants, palace, etc) but the museums (Prado and Reina Sofia). Good taste in the choice of furniture and design.
Cons: We had a room that was facing the interior "courtyard" which is in fact the hotel restaurant/bar, which makes it really noisy, impossible to sleep before 2am if you're lucky even with good earplugs. Sometimes it seems that the restaurant staff makes more noise than the clients. There is also no space reserved for the hotel clients such as a lobby or anything.

Pros: Location was excellent - a two minute walk to the Palace and Cathedral and a few more minutes to Plaza de Espana and Gran Via. I would absolutely stay here again when I'm back in Madrid. Staff was very nice and helpful. Oh, free wifi and a large safe in the room were nice to have.

Cons: I was shocked that my 2 hardboiled eggs and yogurt (in room breakfast) was $30. My husband got fruit and Muesli and it was an additional $30. $60 for a small breakfast!!! Apparently if you order anything they charge you for a full buffet. Had I know that, I would have just gone downstairs to the buffet. The laundry service was also ridiculously priced. My husband washed 4 pairs of boxers and three pairs of socks and it was $60. Shame on us for not planning better, but shame on them for price gouging.

Pros: Rooms were very clean and while smaller, furniture set up allowed for a roomie feel. Bed was comfortable, plenty of pillows and blankets. Could use a few more hangers in the closet for those of us who stayed a bit longer. Balcony room was the way to go for views of the city.
Cons: Didn’t replenish water in the minibar in my room daily which is a nice to have item. WiFi didn’t work at all anywhere in the hotel. Front desk staff was mediocre at best, lacking any appreciation for us staying and the service in the restaurant for breakfast was a bit chaotic. Nobody seemed to know the real price of the buffet and the set up lacked flow causing lots of traffic jams.

Pros: The common area has air con. It's a nice area to hang out and chill before you go back to your bedroom. Some staff is friendly.
Cons: There is no air conditioner in all the rooms. If you don't like to sweat during the night, don't choose this hostel in the summer. It's very hot/stuffy and uncomfortable.
