Facilities and space in the room At first we were put in a studio rather than a one bedroom apartment but that was soon fixed
Great location, great rate, very nice large room for the price. Would use again for business or pleasure trip The noise at night from music and street noise meant I wore ear plugs, the window by the bed could have the seal replaced in 1708 I think.
The set up of the room was great! I loved it. I had booked a room for 3 adults and was provided with a room for 2 and my concern was that when we requested a fold out bed there weren't any available.
Location The bed was too hard
Location The fact that we were shown to a room with luggage already in it.
Great location. Helpful staff, we got early check in at 9am as our flight arrived at 7am (we were with our 2 young kids). Couldn't be better!
Excellent location. Close to shops and restaurants. Spaciaus room. Very relaxing. Laundry machine and dryer helped. Car is safe with secured parking. Quick response from house keeping. Minor house keeping problem. The entire floor wasn't vacuumed and the bed wasn't made on the second day (this was fixed after complaining). The carpet area wasn't vacuumed the whole stay.
great location, rooms were reasonable size. The TV didn't work properly when we got there, but it was changed as soon as we let reception know. Sugar and coffee not refilled until our 4th day. Not a big deal, but would be nice just to have these things done.
The hotel is well situated and easy walking to theatres, shopping and places of interest in Melbourne. The staff were friendly and most helpful. I think it was great value for money.
The room was great, really nice and big enough for 4 ppl I made a booking on line and when we went to check in they didnt have my booking anymore..staff had to do some shuffling around but eventually we got our room. However it was a bit concering and not very secure in the fact that we thought we would of had nowhere to stay.
early check in on arrival great breakfast and agreat location friendly staff will stay again.
We have stayed a number of times previously and location a primary reason On the website the picture looked different to the room we were allocated on 1103.
The fact that the hotel apologised for any inconvenience caused by renovations and offered complimentary drinks, tapas food, and discounts on meals by way of compensation.
Location. Bathrooms in need of refurbishment; poor lighting in rooms; bed linen and towels worn and in need of replacing; cleanliness and house keeping extremely poor; foyers, balconies and corridors very unclean.
We liked the proximity to our venue, The continental Breakfast was very nice as well as the roof top pool. Our view was lovely as was the room presentation. The check-in and check-out were hassel free and staff were warm and welcoming. We didnt like the comfort of our bed, it was lumpy and soft which resulted in a restless nights sleep. My sister stayed in another room on the 4th floor and her bed had terrible spring lumps. We also noticed that besides being 15 floors up we could hear every thing that was going on at street level at 3.30am, eg : Drunk loud people, Note that our windows were closed and curtians drawn.
pleasant staff combined with excellent room, food was great, value for money and location. The absolute only issue was noise from refurbishment which I understand cannot be avoided.
central and easy to get to
The buffet breakfast was great!! good value too! The room was quite small, and no kitchenette area.
Helpful staff and quick responses. Remove or maintain toiletry dispensers. Good idea - less clutter but some not working. Brochure for around the city tram..unless you are from Melbourne you don't known this is available.
comfortable bed poor pressure of water in shower and water only lukewarm
the price and location Did not know about the $100 security bond, was not expecting this, and we were only in melborne for a short amount of time and only had a certain amount of spending money, wich we had to use for the security bond.
Location of the hotel and helpfulness of the staff. The room was not cleaned until late in the afternoon.
The service and cleanliness Very goog experience and proximity of the center of the city
comfortable bed not really - a little noisy
Location Checking in 1/2 hour before I was supposed they said have to wait 1.5 hours for room but spoke to manager and she fixed that
Unable to open windows - air conditioning either too hot cold or too cold. Very claustrophobic.
Very convenient for the CBD and the tourist bus & tram The hotel won an award in 2010 for renovations - i don't think they checked room 728. While my hotel room was cleaned every day thoroughly - it was disappointing to see such stained carpet; also as the ventilation in the bathroom was not good, there was a faint smell of "drains"
friendly staff, convenience of hotel, air conditioning, quietness price
Easy access to the rest of the city The TV was old and didn't work very good. It was also hard to see the bed from the other single bed
decor breakfast could have had more selection and real heinz baked beans
The location is great and the rooms are pretty basic. You get what you pay for. There was no "do not disturb" sign to put on the door so housekeeping would let themselves in without so much as a single knock. I could have been naked. Noise from the hall filtered into the room so as a light sleeper I had trouble with that. Wanted to have a look around the hotel because of the heritage but got told off by one of the staff.
Excelent central location, close to shops and Railway station, clean and tidy all services adiquite ,decor average. To describe our room as Deluxe would require a vivid imagination.Good basic at best.
fantastic service no
close to convention centre no milk in fridge on 2 days. no hair conditioner on one day
excellent knowlegable staff some facilities need renovation
We enjoyed the view also the service was fantastic the staff are so friendly. . being woken at 7.00am for laundry that we didnt order.
We loved the King size bed, pillows & doona. We also loved the shower/bathroom. The alarm went off at 6am, we did not even set the alarm.
We chose it for it's location. It is adjacent to the Melbourne Convention Centre Plenary auditorium where we attended a presentation by the astrophysicist Dr Neil DeGrass Tyson. There was a small light in the bathroom which was on all night, no control switch to be able to turn it off.
A great hotel that was in a fantastic location. Staff were friendly and always accommodating. Also they
service was exellent from all areas, room was well appaointed, staff very freindly
Walking the streeta nd the closeness of the facilities surrounding it's location The grave yard shift front desk girl. very rude. Bad reception on the TV
It was very central and the staff were very helpful. Everything was warm and inviting. After having stayed in hotels in Singapore and Malaysia it was a bit confusing that bottled water left by the side of the bed (and not in the fridge) was not free. A note should be put with the bottles so there is no confusion.
Very close to entertainment venues and restaurants. Great parking next door. Loan of umbrella's was appreciated. At reception, on arrival they had to look hard for our reservation and at departure they insisted that the bill had not been prepaid. After I showed paperwork they still had to check with Accounts. Disappointing.
My hotel room was on the top floor, it was really nice and clean and luxurious, the views were great Bathroom a bit small, could hear some noises in the corridor
Hello, i was very happy with our room and its facilitys. I did think that the bed was too soft and that the lounge and chair although welcome, could have been a little more stylish. Thankyou
The location and comfort of the room The bathroom tub looked old and grubby
The rooms were spacious with all modern cons. The rooftop pool was great however opening hours would be extended. The check in staff were appalling. I arrived at 1am carrying 3 heavy bags after a long flight from London. There were 2 men behind reception who say me arrive and that I was struggling with my bags but they continued their own discussion. On a positive, check in was quick but they gave me my key without telling me where I needed to go or offering to help with my luggage. I had to ask where I was going and by the surly answer I got back and the complete lack of interest they showed me, I didn't dare to ask for help with my bags. I enquired about breakfast and they told me that all hotel resident information could be found in my room! Their customer service skills were none apparent and I was truly shocked at how they treated me.
Room was supposed to be non smoking but smell was awful and room had to be re freshed, very tired and run down.
very central to all theatres, shops and convenient parking with 1st class service, immediates service no waiting and parking attendants we could hear commotion in the room next door with a baby crying
I loved the location of the hotel, it was so close to everything we had planned in Melbourne such as AFL, shopping and Museums. The bar shut way too early on the Saturday night so after we came back from a restaurant we had to go over the road to another pub (which was busy and very noisy) for a nightcap. Poor form. The bar should stay open late for residents.
The Hotel was nice, clean and perfectly located. The bathrooms are far too small though, especially for a triple bed room. The bathrooms.
Location! Very close to conference center. Front desk staff were friendly. Front desk staff were willing to help but some were not very knowledgeable about the tourist destinations, restaurants, etc in the area. It would be helpful to have a concierge. Also, there were some plumbing issues in my room -- but this may not be the case in other rooms.
I enjoyed every bit of my stay! The location is excellent, clean rooms , quiet atmosphere, and hardworking staff.
I have stayed here before because of it's location, price, comfortand great service. ll went well.
The service by the staff The size of the bathroom - unfortunately it really spoilt the stay
quiet no where to hang towell
It's a cosy hotel with very small but efficient rooms @ a very convenient location in Melbourne city center. Rooms are extremely small. Ok for a night, but not for too long.
Location was good and the room was clean The bathroom was so tiny it was ridiculous. The shower water went all over the bathroom, including wetting the toilet paper as there was no door on the shower, the door doesn't slide closed all the way so you were exposed when using the toilet.
The convenience and design of the hotels facilities
Efficient, clean, good staff. Single room same price or dearer than double room - it should be cheaper otherwise it penalizes single travellers (like myself). A tea pot in the room would be nice - or made known to be available on request. A soft pillow likewise. The pillow was like rock! I had to use a towel!!
Ease of car parking - the valet service the sound proofing of the rooms
Room was, in fact, a mini-suite with microwave (well concealed in fitment) etc. Therefore useful if too late for b'fast! Very helpful concierge and front desk staff. Name of hotel seems to confuse taxi drivers. Is it the Swanston or the Grand Mercure? (Mercure aka Welcome Hotel adjoins)
Great view and service.
The central location, good room size, friendly staff
efficiency and courtesy of staff with any requests/check in-out
Supposedly a 4 star hotel. Desapointing. Lot's of teenagers, reception needing room key to secure access after 21:00, not the cleanest.
The location in the centre of Melbourne was very good, as I had meeting in Mebourne. The check in & leaving good with no delays. No complaints
Staff was very friendly and helpful at the check in and check out counters and especially at the concierge section where they very patiently helped people with directions/booking tours etc. The breakfast room (Louden) was not very imposing, carpets were dirty due to heavy use, furniture very basic. About half an hour before closing time staff are already clearing and moving/re-arranging tables with a lot of racket, preparing for what one assumes, the lunch session. The view from the breakfast room onto the ally alongside is also nothing to be proud of - although not the fault of the hotel.
Great location to shops, chinatown and easy walk to rest of cbd
great location for shopping. for a 4.5 star hotel did not think the room was luxurios enough and the bathroom needed updating, bit run down.
very nice staff, room was clean, comfortable. and the hotel was in a great location, walking distance to most places,
excellent service, good location
Damaged furniture in rooms
Had breakfast in my room toast was not cooked and the coffee was cold when I did complain they told me they would replace the cofee but I told them not to worry but they still sent it to my room, it was still only warm and thick as treacle, when I checked out the lady on reception then took breakfast off my bill
Room was nice, good size and very comfortable. Breakfast was not good- poor quality. Location is central but a bit isolated when walking at night
The friendliness of the Concierge manager was highly commendable. My dinner on Wednesday evening was exemplary, grilled snapper cooked to perfection. Breakfasts were wholesome and ample.
Good location and helpful staff. A decent standard of hotel at a reasonable price. Not really.
The hotel was clean and presentable, and provided a location (not particlarly accessible)for our needs. The hotel decor was 'tired' and in need of refurbishment. The room we had (on the first floor above the entrance) had an obsure noise. The hotel was VERY expensive for what was provided. It was the only decent hotel available at the time. I believe the rate was opportunisically driven.
The view from the spa (free) cannot be topped! The room itself was spacious, clean, comfortable (bed, pillows etc), staff friendly, not as luxurious as other Radissons which we especially noticed in the bathroom that was just average, but still ok and for a good deal we'd book it again. Bathroom bit oldfashioned, location just outside of the centre and not in it. Nothing serious though.
The hotel was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful We had a room located close to the lifts, and the noise from them was contstant and very annoying
The close proximity to the city. The size of the rooms, bed etc. Easy to find, easy access when coming from s Aust. Poor veiw out the bedroom window. Very strong smell of cleaning chemical in the room.
Requested to store bags while attending meeting and it did take some time to locate the bags on may return
It was quiet and comfortable. Would have prefererred a room with a view.
Convenience to conference centre at ANZ building, also to shopping and restaurants.
Convenient location for Etihad Stadium, Southern Cross Station and cbd. Inconvenient access. Kept waiting for a long time on phone to reception.
Staff were very helpful and friendly
Right room size. Good bed and good shower. Internet limit for guests WiFi sucks!
friendly service, basically same as other hotels, nothing exceptional but for teh price adequate If not for a complaint, then I will say I did not like how the billing procedure is organised-no explanation given as to your regulations.
Great friendly staff, big thanks to Emily and the crew there for wishing me a happy birthday whilst I was there too
location and they are going to send a forgotten item back my wife stubbed her toe on the door stop in the bathroom. needs repositioning.
Great staff meals from room service excellent breakfast in cafe excellent Poorly sign posted very hard to find up small alley even when getting close TV had lots of channels missing fixed next morning room quite small for amount charged
The price 4 internet connection was 2 high. 9.95 $ per hour.
It was perfect for my needs. I was there for business and close to the city and all public transport.
Close to railway station SC , Close to the Docklands, and City centre The bed was just right for Mumma and Poppa Werrett for a big afternoon sleep after getting back from NZealand and haveing a brunch on the Docklands, loved it
I thought the staff represented your brand in the best possible way. They were helpful and very friendly. The Barista made the most delicious coffee!! The food was lovely. Overall though, the point of difference was the customer service!! you should be proud of your staff!! We loved it and will be back!
My husband and I had a great stay and would happily stay there on our next trip.
Central to shopping and a quiet location
the rooms were very generous and the kids loved having room to move around.
spacious and quiet room, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, great location, everything in walking distance
Our room was upgraded on arrival to a much larger room which was great.
The apartment Spa was out of order. Short staffed. Nobody to help one as to how some of the equipment in gym works especially the bike. The technology is not the same on all bikes. You should have at least one person on duty every day that is trained how to use the equipment so that if there is a problem someone would be available to help.
The rooms were fantastic in size and amenities...more than enought space as we had 5 people in each room. Had requested parking for our minibus which i was told would not be a problem, but once we arrived we were told the bus would not fit in their undercover parking. Had to arrange alternative parking but staff were very helpful in arranging this. Upon check-in the staff member who attended to us was not very friendly but other than that everyone else was great.
The Hotel was very nice and well managed and well kept. Our room was very comfortable and ample room and very clean.
Rooms were very spacious. Convenient location. Small kitchenette in room was very helpful. Were not able to use the stairs to walk up and down - they were locked. Always had to wait for an elevator even if we were on the 1st floor.
Heaps of room in a modern setting. Two tv's were a plus. Room could have been a bit cleaner.
Car parking - cheap, secure and easy access Location - short walk to Etihad, Docklands, Queen Vic Markets, Aquarium Rooms were fine Good view across to Docklands Very slow wifi
This was the 2nd time that we have stayed. We found it comfortable. As we go to the football we find the location great and it is close to the thing that we do n/a
There was on 1 lift working to the room I was allocated. This resulred to extra time need to wait for lift
The location & the views from the windows I felt the in room movies were over priced.
the rooms was spacious for the price and very clean. also quiet with little street noise getting in no restaurant on site and very few in the surrounding streets. no view from the window of the room the good view was in the hall next to the lift which seem wasted
Location, close to Southern Cross station. The standard check-out is rather early for my liking - 10am. It would be great if the shower was a bit more powerful and that internet access was free.
Location, trams at door Lack of info of industrail building 1.5 from window, very bad tv reception very poor channels, Reviews state poor tv so its not a new thing!
I liked the helpfulness of the staff & the location & facilities of the hotel
good bed Horrible bathroom and TV remote didn't work.
That we were close to the Docklands as we needed to be
Lovely swim in the basement pool. A fine hotel, great view of the city, everything you need and a decent price.
Cleanliness, staff attitude
The decor of the hotel was amazing and there was a definite wow factor when you arrived in the big ornate lobby with high ceilings. The central atrium was also a spectacular feature. Although the hotel may be at the 'Parisien' end of the Collins Street and it may be owned by a French group, the 'bonjour' greeting from staff was a little contrived if not pretentious.
The friendly & professional staff, always willing to help & answer any questions. The room & gym facilities were fantastic, the views were amazing! The hotels location was close to the major shops and transport. I would highly recommend the hotel and look forward to staying there again when I return to Melbourne in the future! Found the the air cond could have been cooler. Only felt the coolness when seated close to the windows, not whilst in bed or any other part of the room. However it we did not bring this to the hotels attention.
Excellent service from staff. We stayed in a club level room that provided a quality breakfast, sandwich lunch, afternoon tea then canapes and drinks for a pre dinner. The staff were very keen to assist in any requests
Good location, beautiful city views, romantic environment and nice staffs.
I liked the convenience to restaraunts and Rod Laver Arena.Enjoyed the view from the room and chocolates for our anniversary.
the excellent service and the central location
Great location, near to the main shopping areas, Great food Hall and shopping under the actual Hotel complex, Fantastic view from our 45th floor room.
The bed was amazing, the views spectacular, staff were very polite and very helpful. A little bit of sand in my mushrooms at breakfast time and the bathroom does not have an exhaust fan but other than that everything was perfect!
Was set for a pickup at hotel from tour company and when they were not there concierge took charge of situation by locating and calling all 3 direct numbers available until he got ahold of someone. Timing was critical as missing a tour has its own bucket of problems because of his urgency response the tour was located and all proper arrangements were honored. He was solid. Excellent location views breakfast Wifi did not work in room. Acoustics from outside in. Mattress was uneven in firmness.
Paying $75 for a small bottle of australian champagne
Ideal location Large and impersonal hotel
nice modern accomadation, close to concert venues, shopping etc. n/a
Close to the Regent Theater and within our price range. additional fresh milk was supplied happily when requested. It would have been nice to have had a pool available
Liked the room size and cleanliness. Staff were nice and no fuss.
The staff were very helpful and the location was within walking distance to most of the main attractions.
The staff were terrific and very helpful. Lovely rooms.
It's very close to the city center without all the hassle of traffic. easily accessible to public transport.
Location was perfect for runners like me competing in the Melbourne Marathon. Disappointed when I made two separate requests and they were not followed through.
Great location. Excellent breakfast. Rooms a little dated. Despite the colourful mural, the lobby area close to the lifts looks very dark.
Its central location was the reason for selecting this hotel and I was pleased with the location There was a horrific buzz sound throughout the whole night - not noticed until I went to bed I went to bed at 11.45 p.m. that evening - it was too late to be moved to another room, so I just tried to sleep through it - it didn't work!
The room was comfortable a convient to the theatres Blood on the towel and no apology
i liked the convenient location. Price good. We had been overcharged for items that were not ours
I was upgraded which was fantastic!
Location was good although not absolutely central. Large variety of restaurants close to hand - Asian, Indian, Greek, etc. Hotel is marketed as top of the range 5 star but its standard/quality does not reflect this rating. Too many things not up to scratch. Very disappointing.
Excellent service from the staff who very helpful to our enquiries, especially organising a hire car for us, and forwarding some articles that were left in the room. We found our stay most satisfatory.
Getting away from home, shopping shopping and shopping weekend ended, time to go back to work :(
The respect shown by staff including housekeeping staff especially in relation to entry of apartment. The comfort was pleasing and our questions in relation to locations were accurately and happily passed on. The disappointment if any was our choice of room service meals.
Perfect choice to stay while attending the theatre followed by shopping the next day
Everything is awesome at this Hotel. The elevator is very romantic, the rooms are out of this World. Is a very good place to have fun. It is just at heart of Downtown Melbourne.......
service and suite layout
I loved how friendly the staff were, and that they were more then happy to help you I was disappointed that there wasn't any decent foxtel channels.
I like area of CBD, always clean, comfortable and good value for money, i received a wakeup call at 6.30am which I did not request
great location Only 1 lift working for the whole 3 days
The hotel was in a very convenient location. It was within walking distance of many things to do and see, as well as great restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions about how to get to specific locations and offered good suggestions about things to do in the area.
Pleasant staff allowed us to check in early. Large room. The rate was a little high
convinience of being in the centre of the city, excellent facilities, chocolates and apples was a lovely touch, breakfast was very pleasant just a bit of rust on the windows near the spa area didn't look good
Central to our weekend activities The noise of the lift travelling up and down
Location The room was quite dated and worn
Central to the main attractions of Melbourne. Decor needs to be upgraded i.e. sold to us as an executive Queen Room. What we found was no quite that.
Very convenient, comfortable and the staff very helpful. Will stay with you again.
the convenience of the location no complaints
The comfortable and relaxing atmosphere was appreciated.
We liked the clean fresh smell when we opened the door, the comfort of the bed and facilities to wash and dry clothes if we needed to.
The room facilities for 5 women were excellent. Having the free city tram right at the door was an excellent bonus. The pull out bed was very bad and at the time we did not think of having an alternative day bed brought in. When we discussed it at the end of our stay with staff they were very polite but we still had to pay the additional charge as they told us we could have brought this to our attention earlier. As this bed is a permanent fixture in the room this had not occurred to us. The bed is partially broken the pull in/out feature is not working properly. Room 911
The location and the views.
The accomodation was good quality and spacious.
Very convenient location close to the free city tram stop and near to Lygon Street for restaurants. Good size apartment with views of the park. Air conditioning system was barely adequate.
Very close to Victoria markets
close to trams and nice restaurant downstairs There was no clean towels provided on the Saturday. We paid in advance for our room and when checking out in the morning the receptionist wanted to charge me an extra $91 but couldnt tell me what for.
loved the view over looking the gardens and the space it is great to stay in a hotel with space and room to move the cost of the parking and that we couldn't stay longer in the hotel to enjoy the room more and that wonderful view. Would of liked to have eated in the restaurant but didn't get the chance
Excellent service, were willing to do the extra bit to ensure our stay in melbourne was an easy one.
The location and layout of our apartment. It was excellent value for money. The desk staff need some training in the locations of the nearest public transport. Also, there needs to be a location in the lobby for tourist brochures, maps etc.
The firm did me a favor by letting me check in four hours early. After 27 hours on the airplane I was happy to see a comfortable bed. A+ proximity to South Cross Station, helpful and happy staff. You could feel they appreciated you chosing their hotel. Room #711 is directly across the hall from the house keeping staff service room entrance. This proximity produces a very high level of unwanted negative noise whenever anyone enters and/or exit the service room.
