Great room with huge shower and jacuzzi tub. Bed was very comfortable. Rooms were very much in the style of the French quarter. Great for people that are not using the hotel for more than a place to sleep comfortably with great location for a French quarter experience. No bar attached
Very close and convenient to Frenchman Street...choose enough to French Quarter area without being in the middle of it all Nice quiet area, loved having the secure parking lot right there
The lamothe house has an incredible location, we could walk and explore the French quarter very easily. The staff was super friendly, the pool Is beautiful, the room was clean and I loved that they used Aveda products in the hotel bathroom. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will most likely stay here my next trip to New Orleans.
Loved the environment and the old world historic nature of the entire place not really
Great price, comfort, and convenience. Parking
Quaint, comfy, good value. Walk or street car to most sights.
I liked the older mansion look. The rooms were a good size. The staff were not accommadating.; They claimed we did not make a reservation through you. Luckily I had my confirmation email. There was no free wine and cheese. Breakfast was sparse. the air conditioner in the room did not work. I would not stay there or recommend the hotel to anyone.
The complimentary wine and cheese each evening was fantastic. Particularly as there was a large couch in a window bay on which to recline while enjoying the wine and cheese. The bed was high off the ground and totally luxurious. The bathroom was huge. The swimming pool was fabulous for the New Orleans heat. My only complaint is that the staff did not tell us that the pool would be covered over in preparation for a wedding on our last day.
We enjoyed how close the bed and breakfast was to the French Quarter. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We were supposed to check in at 3 pm on Monday the 1st (of February). The innkeeper texted us to let us know the BnB was not open on Mondays. If the room was clean before 3 pm we would be allowed to check in. We arrived to the BnB and found our room at 11 am hadn't been cleaned from the person before. So we decided we would just wander and come back at 3 pm. We did so and when we returned we found the room in the same condition. At this point I'm tired and frustrated. We call the innkeeper and he tells us there is staff at the property that should be taking care of it. After that they quickly cleaned our room and we were allowed in around 415 pm. This was one pitfall. I understand if you are closed on Mondays, but what I don't understand is why you don't have the staff to help run the place. In our price we were offered a continental breakfast... But the chef was in Houston and we did not get the continental breakfast the next day. We got a knock on our door at 8 pm to give us our breakfast. This included a yogurt, Apple, granola bar, croissant, and water. I'm in no way upset with any of the staff. I'm just a little frustrated that all of this couldn't have been told to us prior to our arrival so that if we wanted to find another hotel we could have. Value overall due to it being close to the French quarter was good. Value for the service provided, don't think so. I think I'll be staying somewhere different next time.
Location Staff was knocking on the door to ask us to leave fifteen minutes before checking out
A nice European style breakfast was served, and the WYFI worked well. For a cozy B&B the Burgundy was fine. The walk to the French Quarter would be too much for most adults but it was an easy enough drive.
Convenient location. Quant digs. Comfortable. Hot tub. Back patio area. Friendly staff. No.
The hosts were genuinely kind and welcoming. The rooms are immaculate with all the amenities one would want. There is plenty of street parking which not only saved me money but also made it easy to come and go. You don't need to drive to get to the French Quarter because it's only a few blocks away. The neighborhood is beautifully maintained and safe. I was traveling alone and Benjamin helped me carry my luggage to my room and Ed was so welcoming when I checked in. They offer wine and cheese from 5-6 every evening which is a great way to meet some of the other guests and share places to visit. There was a huge selection for breakfast in the morning in beautiful surroundings. The home is warm and charming. Each room has its own elegant charm. I was ill the day I left with a stomach flu and Ed was so kind and took care of me just like a close friend. He made sure I was well enough to travel and printed my boarding pass for me and checked to see if my flight was on time. I felt like I was staying with dear friends. There wasn't one thing I didn't like. I will definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect place to stay while visiting New Orleans.
Kim and Charly are great hosts. If your looking for somewhere to lay your head after a long day this is the place.
The Inn was a very nice place to stay. This staff was extremely nice and helpful, the Innkeeper let us know all the good places to eat and that weren't the mainstream places. It was clean and pretty roomy, for two people. It wasn't a very big place, which I liked because it wasn't loud or crazy. Even the neighborhood it was in was a very quiet area, but it was close enough to the Quarter that we could just walk there. The only things lacking are nit-picky things. For example there was not ice available. And they only had showers not tubs. There was street side parking only and it was hard to find places to park at times because it is in a residential area. But as I said for all the pros, these are just little nitpicky things.
Perfect location, just betweeen frenchstreet and bourbon street. Very helpful hosts. Parking permit was provided. Perfect breakfast, very unique rooms - we loved it!!!! We could use the kitchen, which was very convenient. The pool was a nice treat. We would definately stay again, when again in New Orleans and recommend this place to everybody
Great location for a couple to stay at with walking conveniences. Great size double room suite, but severely lacking in a/c! Plus, one ceiling fan worked while the second one didn't. I had to buy a standing fan so I would melt from the heat.
Reasonably priced for New Orleans. Walking distance to Frenchman Street bars and restaurants. Great little courtyard in the rear. Friendly front desk clerk. NO sound proofing whatsoever. Poorly fitting glass door to room. Inadequate lock. Security gates were left unlocked every night. Lots of noise, yelling and banging of metal ironing boards by staff early in the morning. Water fluctuated crazily between scalding hot and frigid cold. Easy to peer into room/bed from outside.
Staff is helpful. Location is convenient, close to the French Quarter but out of the noise. Very close to Frenchmen St. Place has some charm and it's good value for the money. It looks a bit old. We were there 2 days and they didn't clen our room the second one. It was a bit cold and we only had one electric heater which was very insufficient.
Loved the location and the staff were awesome. They let us check in early and check out late.
Walking distance to the Frenchman, you really get a local feel staying at the Old Towne. Also just blocks away from local watering holes, it is in the center of everywhere we wanted to be. my boyfriend and I booked here last-minute on our drive back to Chicago from Texas, where we were visiting family for the holidays. We were welcomed warmly and had a great and comfortable time. Olde Towne was just the place for us late-nighters. If you're a bit more high maintenance, and you need polished bathrooms and state of the art amenities... well, New Orleans probably isn't for you, but also you may be better off staying at a Holiday Inn. This place is probably too old school for you.
