This place was right off the beach. The area was well kept and there are plenty of food places within walking distance. The resort package fee included all of the little things tourist would like to do. From buggie boarding to bike rides, this hotel had it all! The staff was VERY friendly and accommodating. Our room had a double bed instead of a king. We slept in both lol
Awesome staff to help with day planning and restaurants
Right on the beach, Great service.
SO convenient, great location, beautiful beach and the most friendly helpful staff I've been around. we would recommend it without a doubt.
This hotel is a real gem, right on the beach. The hotel exceeded my expectations in all categories. Found my new place at Pacific Beach.
Great staff. Clean and the location couldn't be better.
This trip was one of our best experiences ever, and Pacific Terrace was central to that. Extremely friendly staff, yummy breakfast, beautiful room...this hotel had it all. I can see now why it is so highly rated. It has all the amenities you could ask for without the pretension or pricing of a resort. They only serve breakfast and have some offerings for room service, but trust me we didn't miss having a full restaurant. There is so much right outside the door if the hotel! We'll be back! Can't think of a thing!
Great hotel. Perfect location. Staff was very friendly and interacted with everyone. That alone would make me stay here again. The views are amazing. Great place to just get away and relax.
The hotel is located in a great position right on the ocean and the staff was great. I didn't research the parking costs before checking in. We were charged $20 + a day. I'm not sure how that compares to other hotels.
Everything was great! Staff was super nice and location was perfect. I will be staying here again.
Great location, good bar/restaurant, excellent sundeck, overlooking the ocean, free wi-fi
the comfortable beds
The hotel was nice, but I'm really glad we didn't pay the full price for the room. It almost seemed like it was brand new and they hadn't figured out how to run it yet. Room service seemed to be just one guy and I had to talk to 4 different people to get a room service wine list. There was also some confusion when we checked in about what kind of room we booked. The rooms also seemed to be showing their age a bit. The furniture was scratched and looking worn. Also, the sliding door for the bathroom wasn't as big as the opening. So you couldn't have complete privacy. There was always an inch of space exposed on one side or the other.
Classy hotel. Very comfortable bed, and great location on the beacch. does not have a pool or a hot tub
excellent staff, very, very helpful throughout our stay. Very nice room
Everything! What an incredible hotel!!! With the exception of one hotel staff member who really shouldn't be part of the "team", everyone was amazing!!! Thanks for an incredible holiday Tower 23 Staff. No workout facility.
It was close to the beach...but also close to clubs...the bedding was very nice, and the rooms large. The bar off the lobby was really loud - made it difficult during check in. While that bar noise didn't follow me to my room - the club right next store thumped away until 2 a.m. I did not stay the 2d night.
The location and the staff. The bar and restaurant were amazing!
Excellent service; great room; wonderful view No coffeemaker in room
View No ice buckets in room. Should be standard. Not enough drawer spaces for clothing. Closet small. Would recomend hotel but would warn about these areas.
Really nice and clean. Great location to the beach, bars and food. Expensive for a hotel with no fitness center and no breakfast included with the stay.
Great place to stay with good local restaurants and shopping, and it's Pacific Beach!
Location to beach, restaurants, Starbucks was ideal. Only 15 mins from airport
Excellent staff customer service, clean rooms (carpet needs some stain removal in hall in places), run of the mill but tidily administered continental breakfast, amenities adequate as promised, obvious recent refurbishment of much of the premises, quiet inside the hotel. Nasty drunken hobos camped outside on ocean boardwalk with no security or police response. More so, no amelioration of loud, loud drunken after-bar partying by young people on said boardwalk beneath our window.
Great location and amazing staff!
Enjoyed being so close to the boardwalk and ocean. Overall had a great time. The front desk staff was great, especially Mercades. She was so helpful and quite pleasant.
Right on the beach and very convenient to area restaurants and shopping.
Great location on the Waterfront, good facilities, would recommend to all. Bit petty with charging for water in the room after the amount paid for the stay, slightly devalues the hotel.
Great location and nicely remodeled rooms. We had an ocean front room on the third floor, which was perfect. The hallways reveal it's still an older hotel, but the carpet is nice. So do the doors, frames, and other small details (that add up).
Our room was very nice and had robes fro our use in the pool area or the beach. There also were beach towels and blankets for either area. We had a great ocean view from our second-floor balcony where we drank wine and watched sunsets. Though the management could not do anything about it, some people walking on the sidewalk along the ocean-side of the property did not pay attention the signage saying not to smoke; others did not pick up after their dogs.
Close to everything, on beach. Staff excellent. It's a place to stay as this is 4th time in just a few months. I really have nothing I didn't like!
Top-notch hotel! The rooms were spacious, clean and felt very luxury... Staff was great and breakfast was off the chain. Will definitely be coming back soon!
Friendly staff when we arrived, however checked out and mentioned the none warm water and the gunk and front desk could care less, tried to inform them for the next guest. Won't be returning. Hard to get to property, shady area parking lot next to dealerships, no warm water in the room, black sand like gunk came out of sink when toilet flushed. Glad it was only a short stay! Very disappointed!
Take a tricycle to park because the parking is so small and cramped that you can barely get your car turned down a lane and most everyone has to have a spotter standing outside their car to get the car out of a slot. I could not turn off the bathtub facet, so it ran all four days I was there. The cabinets look like they were bought from IKIA and put together by a chimpanzee since the doors did not fit right and the drawers would not push all the way in. The room was extremely small for a Holiday Inn Express.
Nice hotel close to zoo etc Door to bathroom stuck frequently. Staff seemed very attentive and eager to fix when advised at checkout
Tight space but comfortable bed and pillows
Had some extra time at the continental breakfast as my wife slept in. Food was very good. The staff was friendly and did a great job.
I like that it was clean and smelled clean. The lady at the breakfast, spoke spanish and was really friendly. I didnt like that the restrooms were soooooo small, and the door didnt close sometimes. Overall i didnt like restrooms and the parking too small.
I was warmly greeted and every staff member smiled, said hello, and were genuinely kind. it was clean, well kept, and a great stay for my three grandchildren and I. The breakfast was good, although not my idea of healthy food. But the grandkids likedit. My only complaint would be that the breakfast was served in styrofoam plates and bowls. It wouldn't be difficult to do more recycling and use paper goods. There was an exorbitant amount of waste.
Friendly staff They didn't have towels in pool area after I called before hand to check if they did and the front desk said yes. I had to walk up back to my room with my kids all dripping wet.
These people really want to be the best hosts they possibly can be and it shows everywhere. Down to the details like the same enthusiasm from every employee every single time they pick up the phone to answer a request/inquiry. My favorite breakfast of any hotel ever is at the Renaissance in Long Beach. The eggs are milky and not dry and the sausage patties are juicy and not stiff same with bacon. While the drinks served aren't as good the meat and potatoes of the beeakfast items are close to it in quality which is remarkable and commendable. Overall in most respects this people will do right by you and I don't think you can best their customer service. Or attempt thereof. Customer service value for money = crazy good. Bathroom smelled of humidity/mold... A criminal offense to guests as far as I'm concerned. Doors locked everywhere... except for one that is suspiciously left half open in the back of the building next to Rubios.
It was a clean room and staff was pleasant and helpful. Near the bay and mission beach but not walking distance as photos suggest. Outside having a tiny room and needing to straddle the toilet to open the bathroom door...especially when trying to get out of the shower....it was a good place to spend the night.
The room was very clean. The staff was very nice. The continental breakfast and eating area was very Nice too. I have never had such a great choice of food to choose from. And it was delicious! The location is centrally located. We will come back here again. Ana and Yadira were very accomadating and explained everything to us about our room and any other issues. The only thing that went wrong with our stay was that someone's child pulled the fire alarm in the hotel. The hotel had to be evacuated. All of the guests had to leave their rooms. This hotel has a very good alarm system for fires, and security cameras, so at least they were able to find the culprit who pulled the alarm. The staff explained to me that the fire department did arrive, and the family of the child will face a hefty fine for the disturbance. This was of no fault of the hotel. I was pleased to know that they have everything under control. It did make you feel at ease that they take the safety of their customers very seriously. So kudos to the Holiday Inn for making sure their guests are safe!
I liked that the place was clean - which is actually a huge plus for a hotel to have. thats about all I can say that is positive. The front desk staff is rude, and they are WAY overpriced for what they are.
It is in a convenient but unattractive location The Front Desk staff was on their respective cell phones too often
The shower and that you can make your own waffles for breakfast. That you can hear EVERYTHING from the guests next door.
Staff is excellent. Responds to visitor needs. Friendly. Fairly close (walking distance) to Mission Bay and bike rentals. Noisey from street traffic and freeway. NO visible recycling anywhere. Breakfast does not have healthy options; lots of white flour, sugar and premade eggs. Fruit was a few sad damaged oranges. Disposable dishes and cups. Not environmentally friendly.
Old, low ceilings, small room, sad fitness center and pool
Front desk person Jasmine was awesome. She was well spoken with perfect directions . You have a shining star with this girl ! Slight pet odor
It was really near a few main arteries so I could get to where I needed quite quickly Off a side road. Nothing attractive about it, but it was practical and clean. I had a very nice spacious room! Good coffee...
The room decor was nice. Very soothing and restful. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was great! Very roomy and well-appointed. Pool area was a bit small, but serviceable. Location is decent -- close to Garnet St. with lots of shops and restaurants close by. Checkout staff was less than courteous. I told the woman I was checking out and requested a receipt, but was told that I couldn't have one because my room was booked through Hotelbeds or something like that. I had no idea what she was talking about as I booked my room through Kayak, so I requested that she get someone to help her with my receipt. The manager was able to print a "receipt" showing that I had checked out on a certain date, but it had no charges listed. There was NOTHING listed! I hope I don't have a problem with the bill after this.
Nice hotel for the money. Breakfast was good.
Closeness of staff for any questions, assistance, We were well taken care of. Thank you! no problems at all!
I really like this hotel. it was clean and comfy. and close to the airport. I am very satisfied with this hotel
Great stay thank you
location to beach. great view of ocean could have used a side entrance instead of going around building coming from the swimming pool
The view! Right on the beach with uninterrupted views of the Pacific meant we found it hard to leave and do anything else. It was very hot during our time and there was no aircon - made it a bit uncomfortable
The views from the living room and master bedroom were amazing! We loved the wall of windows.
The view was amazing - we were in an upgraded room. We didn't like the first room we saw, but the person in the office gave us keys to see other rooms, and we were amazed at the room we got. Loved the location, the room, the service - we will return.
On my way to Sandiego I had to be taken by ambulance from Seatac to not one, but two different hospitals. My family nd I had to stay the night in the hospital in Seattle instead of at the surfer. The next day we had to fight to change our flights with the or lines and supply a dr's note to the airlines so we could have them changes for free. After showing up t the hotel with two hospital bands and a dr's note, the hotel wasn't so forgiving. I still had to pay for the night I missed right before Christmas. If you're looking for a compassionate staff, don't look here
The view was amazing!
I'm a single lady, they put me on the bottom floor, though I requested an upper level. NO AC, and since I was on I couldn't open my sliding door during the night. The sliding door opened out to a inner corridor not an individual patio. Decor was dated and ugly. I'm a single lady, they put me on the bottom floor, though I requested an upper level. Location is awesome. Right on the beach. Pool is good. No air conditioning. We had no chair or furniture of the sort in our room. Hotel it's self needs a face lift.
It can be a it noisy at night which would only be a problem if you're trying to go to bed early. If you're not a night person you should probably stay somewhere else it's a great spot for hopping the bars nearby.
Pool area and Spiders in room. Shower curtain fell off tension rod too loose causing the whole thing to fall and hit me in the head.
The location is great. Depending on your room, you'll probably have a view of the beach, and there are plenty of bars/restaurants within walking distance. The room was a sauna. Even on the first floor, the room retained so much heat that it was hotter than outside no matter what time of the day/night. No A/C, but they did provide a floor fan, which I had at full blast whenever I was in the room. The furniture and cosmetic stuff was nice and modern for the most part, but it was a fledgling attempt to conceal the aged condition of the overall building.
The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The location is great. It's close to all the bars and restaurants. It was also supper nice walking out our door and the beach being right there. The cleaning staff was very rude and didnt clean well at all.
The location is absolutely beautifully amazing. The view is unbelievable. The location is right next to the boardwalk and beach, and is very pet friendly. There are some hours that dogs are not allowed on the boardwalk/beach but there are lots of other close by beaches they are slowed at. Definately recommend this hotel. This hotel is definately an older hotel with a great location and we stayed in September I would have thought that the prices of the rooms would have been a little less than they were.
Location Location Location Floors were dirty, outside was very dirty specially around dumpster area, stunk. Drug use was heavily around hotel, seemed to be more run down than I can remember from last visit. Great location, just need to work on cleaning the street patio and sidewalks. Spilled drinks and garbage everywhere.
Staff was accommodating and nice.
It was a pleasure talking with Bill in the office.
The location is terrific -- one block from beach, a couple of blocks from busy Garnet street, easy drive to downtown San Diego. Although I didn't use it, it had a great full kitchen. The living room was comfortable and it had a nice flat screen TV. Management was very friendly.
I liked the location and the room had a lot of room. The hotel has a nice structure. I didn't like that it was too dirty, my tub had scum stains all around. One of the staff was extremely rude, he threaned people about getting kicked out before we checked in. None of the outlets in my room worked. I think it needs more remodeling to give it a newer look. Also, the maintenance woke me up every morning with banging noice, that was disturbing.
The staff was informed of an incident; they immediately took care of the problem. One of the mattresses in my room was soiled with vomit. The appeared to have been wiped down; however, it had not been cleaned or disinfected. When I went to bed for the evening, (Friday 03, 2010), I smelled the odor of vomit and discovered that the top area of the sheet on the left side of the bed was soiled with damp brown in color stains. I removed the sheets and discovered that the mattress was wet and wreaked with the stench of vomit. The office was closed; therefore we could not inform the staff of the issued until the morning. The staff was informed as soon as the office opened the next morning, (Saturday 04, 2010).
Ease of access to beach. Location to just about everything SD and LaJolla has to offer. Especially easy to visit with my son. This is the third or fourth stay here and for the price I'll continue to stay here. When I made the reservation, I know it indicated that the kitchen included. When I got there I was told, reservation for room only and I would have to pay an additional $10/night for the kitchen which I did as having that is important to me. Disappointed.
excellent service and staff
Bob, a front desk employee, was very friendly and welcoming when checking in.
Room was clean. Management was polite and helpful for the most part. Pool and spa were welcome and mostly clean. Close to beach. Beds slept OK. Parking was free , but difficult and insufficient. When it filled up on the weekend there weren't enough spaces. Staff said tough luck , it's the beach on a weekend! Took the manager & a lot of grief to resolve. Room amenities were minimal. Bath had sewer smell, was a step down & hard to negotiate at night. Lots of road noise.
Was near many restaurants and 1 block from the beach. Pool was pleasant and owners were friendly. Room was clean. Very basic accomodations in older building. Could hear next room easily, air conditioning system was very loud, security was casual.
Staff was great! Extremely helpful and friendly. 1 minute walk to the boardwalk, great price. Clean, but no hair dryer. No bath tub; standing shower only
Staying near the ocean was very relaxing and I would definitely book at this hotel again. It was quiet and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Actually not too much... but the location to the beach is good. The room is filthy. Absolutely dirty and very nasty. We founded larvas in the towels... the corners of the carpet were terribly nasty... One of the employees, when we were checking out, treated us like idiots, probably just because our English was not so good. I hated the hotel, and is extremely expensive for what offers.
Short walk to beach. Is near stairs down to the beach was great since I had to rush back after braving cold ocean water in December. They offer bikes for a small fee and free breakfast. Nice bars and restaurants nearby. Bathroom and shower were small but were OK for me.
close to the beach parking you have to pay extra it would be nice if it was part of your stay at no extra cost like most places, if your room window is next to the outside light good luck they have basic blinds they need heavy curtains to keep out the light, our room was in back next to this other room that was having a party you would think they would have someone walking the area so there wouldn't be loud people to disturb the others staying there for the price you pay for staying there! last thing lamp didn't work and no open wall outlets for chargers
Location only This is basically a motel near the beach. No AC-my room was extremely hot & uncomfortable. They provide a fan, and this is the only reason I could sleep. I was not able to cancel my reservation a week out-so had to stay here. Location is good, but the facility is low quality-no headboard on the bed, lots of marks/dents in the walls, needed paint, etc. Bathroom had no countertop space. Will not stay here again
Very good value for the area- take advantage of the surf boards, boogie boards, and bikes that are located in the lobby. They also have free sunscreen in the lobby if you need a touch up. I would definitely go again.
Great location and friendly staff. Near the beach and many things. Room was basic. If you plan on spending a lot of time in the room then not ideal. If you plan on taking advantage of all there is to do then this is ideal.
Clean, updated, as advertised. Friendly front desk staff. I'd definitely stay here again. Small room.
Cheap place to crash that is close enough to San Diego's beaches that you won't need to go on the highway to get there (you still need a car though) . Loud guests (I hope) hanging out on the loft walks outside the rooms until early morning, very simple breakfast, very unreliable wifi internet.
Excellent staff Close to beach Size of room Breakfast
Great value for the money. Very helpful staff. Location, location, location! Close to Pacific Beach and the 5 freeway. You can print your boarding pass in the reception area. Our room had a fridge. Again, great value for the price. Bed and some of the furniture could have been cleaner.
Friendly staff. The hotel was fairly quiet which was nice. For the price, the hotel was nicer than I expected. Hard pillows on the bed. There were also occasional bad smells from the bathroom though it was fairly clean. The mini refrigerator did not get very cold.
I will never stay at this motel again. Elevator door closes way too soon, very dangerous. Ceral bowl empty before cosing time to eat. Faulty facet for shower,
It was very convenient; easy to find; good value for the cost; quiet.
The room was actually very beautiful. Super clean and up to date with everything. Location was convenient with a 7/11 and few Asian restaurant within walking distance as well as other locations driving distance. Overall very happy and will be staying here again. Some creepy hobos lurking around the area made it scary to leave at night for snacks and such being women.
The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. It was also the cheapest place we could find last minute so we were pleasantly surprised with the quality. There is limited parking. One spot per room and if you get in too late may not be able to find a spot.
Staff was very nice. No pet fee. Good location, right off the freeway and easy to find. Fairly clean. Other reviews made it seem like the rooms were disgusting but the only thing I found gross was the shower. Looks like the fiberglass is rotting off on the bottom. TV has a lot of channels. Free breakfast is pretty good. Why are the rooms so small? Seriously. They are smaller than my bedroom at home. I feel like for what I paid i should have had a little extra space. The room is 90% bed. I guess I should have gotten a two bed room just so we would have room to move past each other. If i had brought a port-a-crib for my daughter to sleep in, I really don't think it would have even fit.
Nice average place to lay your head. Noisy neighbors (auto dealerships), small rooms, no place to really eat the breakfast
The house-keeping staff was wonderful... The frond desk staff was horrible...
I liked the cleanliness and remodeled/renovated look with LOTS of room No FRIDGE, no phone, no pool on premises or hot tub, squeaky floor when staying on bottom floor... annoying!! Not worth the amount i paid!!!
The hotel is nice, and is one block from the beach. That was the good part. The staff is incompetent. Woke up in the morning to discover that there were only two hand towels in the room, so had to walk to the lobby to get real towels for showers. TV didn't work - only got snow, not picture - and staff was unable to unwilling to help.
Liked close proximity to the beach. Pretty clean. Breakfast was not really a breakfast, just pastries. Bathroom area is very small with very few towel racks or room around the sink.
-Close to the beach -Relatively clean -Bathroom was nice -Free parking -Our TV and phone didn't work and when we asked the staff to come take a look they came and poked around and then shrugged their shoulders when they couldn't figure it out -You have to pay for internet -This is the biggest con by far but our last night at the hotel, we woke up in the middle of the night to a huge cockroach crawling across our pillows -No room service the first day -My guess is that this hotel is not very well managed but location makes up for some of that
There weren't any bath towels in room, no cups to drink water and no decaf coffee. No info was provided in room about hotel and we were not told about continental breakfast. The cleaning staff starts before 1000 and they are very noisy. They all gathered in courtyard area talking, yelling across to each other and laughing. Their large bins on wheels are also very loud. Location was good
This property's staff is very friendly and professional. I have been staying at this hotel for over 25 yrs. And it has never looked and felt as nice it does these days. Location, Location, Location. 1/2 block to the beach, a few blocks along the boardwalk to the pier. Grand and Garnet and all the restaurants and night life you could want. Enjoy
Great location good price. Low budget.
Was just at pacific shores inn at end of June 2014. This hotel turned out to be nicer than I had expected. Not a glamorous place but it's a beach town and the hotel has a beach shanty sort of feel. Room was clean & bathroom had been recently renovated and was very pretty. Ultimately the biggest plus is the proximity to the ocean. Literally half a block and you're there. Also some good restaurants and shopping within walking distance. I was there with my teenage and college aged children and they both said they'd come back here next year.
It was a decent location with several restaurants in walking distance and of course the beach very near by. I was worried about parking when I saw the number of spots but we never had a problem finding an open spot. Our room keys kept malfunctioning. The lady from the office said this happened quite often. The bathroom had no vent fan. Some of the staff was friendly but one of the men at the desk seemed annoyed that we needed to request something. At one point I was in the office and noticed they had left out several contracts for other guests which seems like a privacy concern.
It is a small hotel in a quiet area of a nice beach town, very short walk to one of the easiest beach accesses, and a beautiful view of the beach from the top of the cliff as well. It is also a short walk to numerous eateries and shops and the main street of Pacific Beach. We stayed in a queen deluxe room that has been partially renovated. It was very spacious, with high ceilings and pleasant decor. It was maintained adequately though showing signs of age and effects of the moist ocean environment. Very nice TV in beautiful piece of furniture that also has 3 large drawers for clothes, etc. Though not a complete breakfast, an assortment of high quality pastries was offered each a.m. along with several juices and teas; hot coffee was available throughout the day. The staff was wonderful - always cheerful, helpful and kept the grounds spotless throughout the day. Having covered parking was a plus as was the pool. When my aging mother injured her leg on our last day at the beach and could no longer walk upstairs, they found us a room on the lower level and helped us change rooms at 10 p.m. - we really appreciated their attentiveness to our needs. One building has front patios with round tables and chairs - nice feature if you are in that building, and pleasant to look at even if you're in the other building. It's just a pleasant, relaxing place to stay while enjoying the beach and surrounding San Diego area. The rooms are a little quirky - no shower door or curtain and the 1/2 glass partition doesn't really contain the water so the bathroom floor gets wet. (Not a problem in the renovated rooms). The only outlet for the coffeepot puts it on a shelf above your head rather than on the counter - dangerous & inconvenient. One of our 2 rooms did not have a microwave, the other had a door missing off the lower storage cupboard. You have to ask for everything ... towels, washcloths, bath mats, coffee for the coffeemaker, etc. They are quick to provide what you need, but it can be a long walk to the office if you forget something or don't realize it's not there.
Nice location on beachside of larger street (250 yds from beach), noice not bad at all. Ocean glimpse from most rooms, nice patio with chairs and table just outside room, motel style with rooms one stair up Continental breakfast just a muffin. Bonus is fridge and micro in room. Carpets could have been less worn. Could do without the breakfast
It is close to the Pacific and Missin beach areas - a good place to have a rest
The room was quiet and located within walking distance of the beach. The shower was the worst shower I have ever had. There was absolutely zero water pressure. It felt like I was taking a shower in a light rain storm. The room wasn't excessively dirty but does need a little more elbow grease in the bathroom.
Loved the location! Very close to the beach and near many delicious restaurants. There were also nice bars within walking distance that my friend and I (ages 24 & 25) had a great time at. The staff was friendly and rooms were neat and clean. Not too bad of a drive to downtown. Overall a great place!
The staff members were very accommodating. They had run out of towels and promised to deliver them right away. They brought them and apologized for not having them when I first asked. There were muffins, pastries, and fresh coffee in the office each morning. The pool was very clean and mutt kids loved it. It was very close to the beach and waking distance to shops and places to eat. Staff suggested a few places to eat that turned out to be great. People above us were kind of loud. The A/C was a little loud.
located right next to pacific beach - great location. rooms were large and clean. bathroom with power shower. big plasma tv - very enjoyable stay. continental breakfast was not great.
Location near ocean and multiple shops/restaurants within walking distance Heated outdoor pool Continental breakfast was limited (coffee, juice, pastries) as expected, BUT I would have liked liquid coffee creamer instead of powdered creamer.
I'm rating this on the fact we were given an updated room. Room was clean, new and plenty big enough for 2 adults, 12yr old and 5yr old. Can't beat the location and free parking! No resort fees no weird add ons... We will stay again and already planning next trip. We walked to dinner and lunch places everyday, tons of options close by.
I liked the look and feel of the rooms and that it was close to the beach. Could not get over the fact that there is basically no parking. Also the staff is very unhelpful on any matter and the management is horrible!
Nothing!!! This is by far the worst hotel (MOTEL) I have ever stayed in. Reminds me of a cheesy hotel in horror films!! Visited PB for 4 nights & dreaded going back to hotel every night! No air conditioning, only has a weak & noisy ceiling fan that did nothing to cool room. Needed to open windows for perhaps cross ventilation, but for safety didn't dare - room was on ground level. The carpet was absolutely filthy!!! The mattress extremely old - I was too afraid to check for bedbugs!! It was uncomfortable with only two pancake flat hard pillows!! We went & bought 2 floor fans, which still did not help, it was so hot in the room!! I slept horribly for 4 nights - covered in sweat & in pain each morning from the mattress & pillows!! No parking!!! The "hotels" parking is on a public street open to all beach goers. They offer parking on two sister properties - one never had parking ( narrow & crowded), the other we were lucky enough to find a spot & then walk back to our hotel on a dark street 3 blocks & tired!!! Tell everyone, DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Hotel prices have soared on Pacific & Mission Beaches with the economy improving. Take my advice & pay the extra $$.
Cheap place to stay on the beach Kitchen Area with Mini Fridge. No Parking You can hear EVERY footstep from the second floor if you are on the first floor. Extra for WIFI No AC
Location is the only thing going for it Bed was very uncompfortable, kitechenette was undequipped no coffee, few utensils etc..
Parking availablity was poor
The location is smack in the center of the most touristy beach in San Diego. Surfing is pretty ok. There are endless places to rent any kind of beach toy, bikes, surfboards, etc. Little shops and a great boardwalk that goes for a couple of miles along the beach.
location no air-conditioning the poor continental breakfast-a lie noise
Sounds of ocean waves during the night, we had a room with another door opening right to the beach. Very spacious rooms: living and bedroom, small kitchen with all useful facilities for cooking. The personnel was very friendly and helpful with directions etc Not modern design and decor, old bathroom porcelain
It is very close to beach. Good suite for 2 person. General problem; hotel doesn't have internet. Continental breakfast was poor.
Walked the beautiful beach and enjoyed the ocean sunsets and some good dining. The lack of parking space. Street parking only and because it is a beach side hotel there was little parking available. The alternative parking spaces were two blocks away.
