The experience was brutal, extremely disorganized, and disrespectful to both customers and employees. I arrived early for my pickup and found a line so long that it extended outside the office . There were only two employees working, and the process was very slow. Customers were being yelled at , and the manager was outside cleaning cars instead of helping move the line. The temperature was around -25°C with the wind chill. I waited in line for 2 hours and didn’t even reach the middle of the line. My feet were so cold that I was no longer able to stand, and I had to leave without a car . There was no proper system in place , no communication, and no concern for customer safety given the extreme weather. I also tried to contact customer service about this situation and was unable to get any help. Because of that, I have opened a dispute with American Express regarding this booking. The pickup took nearly two hours, and after waiting, I got to the front of the line. An employee yelled at me and made me go to the back because my fastbreak number was improperly applied to my account. Once I got to the front again, I was told they were out of the kind of car I paid for and given a dirty minivan. When I went to return the car, nobody was anywhere to be found. So I parked the car in the return zone and left for my flight. Then I found out that nearly three days later budget had not reported my car return, and I had to spend another several hours in a labyrinthine nightmare of customer service I finally got someone to agree they would try and find it. My rental was not closed our until 4 days later and now I need to go through the same process to fight improper “late” return charges. You could not design a worse customer service experience, spend the extra money and rent from an agency. Never rent from budget!Reviewed 4 Dec 2025

There was a 2-hour line to pickup the car when we got to the airport. I had to cancel the reservation and book with Alamo (which, along with the 4 other car rental agencies, had a short line) to make our event on time. The Alamo agent told me that Budget does this every day, by offering low teaser rates without disclosing that you'll have to wait 2-hours+ to pick up the vehicle.
