Pros: Staff was great; car was great.
Cons: Unauthorized charge for a damaged tire (?!!). Perhaps the staff at check-out should go over the car w/ clients prior to turning in the keys, as I was unaware of any damage done. I drove - no way to damage a tire wall by driving.
Pros: Drop off personnel was helpful.
Cons: Rented one type of car and when I got there had to wait the original car was not available no incentive was offered for the mix up ended up paying more then originally planned for a smaller car. And car was dirty and empty on gas when received when I went to the counter to inform they answered that is all that was available.
Pros: Pick up and drop off were SUPER convenient from 83rd street.
Cons: The previous user of the car had clearly folded the seats down, making the seatbelts inaccessible. I didn't realize this at first, so we had to pull over to dismantle the backseat and find/pull through the seatbelts. There was some debris under the seats that showed that area wasn't part of the cleaning, so a bit more thorough "reset" and cleaning between drivers would be appreciated.
Pros: Staff on site were excellent. Friendly and helpful.
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful-we had no problems with them. The car, a Toyota Corolla was great. It was easy to get to from Manhattan and had cars available.
Cons: The price quoted is a bare minimum price. What was supposed to be $560 ended up being $919. Some of it was insurance but none of that was transparent on the website. We were also told that if we wanted to use the EZ pass that is in the car (not our own) there was a mandatory fee of $139 to use it. We've rented from Avis and Enterprise and we never had to pay just to use the EZ pass, before the tolls. Then we were told since we did not want to pay that amount, that we get charged either $15 or $30 by EZ Pass itself every time we go through a toll-that is in addition to the toll itself. We were also charged for an additional driver each day, even though that person is my husband. We have not been charged at other rental companies for that, specifically because the other person is a spouse.
Pros: The staff was helpful and kind! When a guy showed up without a mask, they told him he needed a mask. (I had been helped and was walking to my rental at the time, so I didn't see how this played out) Their attention to public health was very appreciated.
Five stars for the staff.
Cons: For Kayak, the taxes weren't clearly stated on our end, so I was caught off guard by the much higher number to pay.
Pros: Price per day was much lower than competitors
Cons: I reserved a minivan. When I arrived, they "couldn't find the key" to the car. Ended up getting an SUV, which was not ideal. They tried to get me to take a more expensive car. The tank was barely 1/8th full, so I had to go fill it up right away. This also means that when I returned it with half a tank of gas left, I've paid for the extra gas that I did not use. When dropping off, I brought the car in a day early, but still got charge for the extra day for which it was reserved because the drop off place was allegedly closed. It was not, and there was an attendant there checking cars in. The car was not checked in for 2 days after i dropped it off and I got the final bill 3 days after drop off. Pretty shady operation.
Pros: Easy pickup and drop off. Pretty good price for the summer.
Cons: The rental car was lousy. A Dodge Charger that drove terribly and was uncomfortable. The suspension and shocks needed to be replaced at 32000 miles.
Cons: I waited almost 1 hours just to rent a car only one staff member was working.
Pros: Drop off was very easy and was completed quickly.
Cons: Line getting the car wasn’t too long but moved slowly. The front staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there, but were knowledgeable and helpful with questions.
Pros: THEY DID NOT HAVE THE CAR I RESERVED SO I HAD TO PAY AN UPCHARGE AND WAS NOT GIVEN THE CREDIT AMOUNT THAT I PAID TO RESERVE THE CAR. ONLY TWO THIRDS OF IT
Cons: My appointment was for 3 pm. I arrived at 3:09, the attendant was still checking in an individual, but I was told by a manager that they closed at 3 and since I was late I had to go to a Hertz dealer down the street. Even if I were on time, I would have to have waited regardless, so it wasn't a valid excuse.
