The Pulitzer offers old world charm, excellant service, and all the luxury in modern accommodations anyone could ask for, I was thrilled with the hotel, and the morning breakfast was par excellance. The location of the hotel was for us, perfect. I just can't say enough. I've stayed with the Pulitzer before this trip and I will definately stay there again when I return to Amsterdam. I am in the restaurant business in the US, and because I work so hard at creating a special atmosphere and serving my guests well, I am very appreciative when traveling to be treated so well. . The Pulitzer does it right, from check in the check out! Thank you! Absolutely NO Complaints or suggestions.
Excellent location. Little noisy, little dirty:)
The Pulitzer was recently redesigned and it exceeded my expectations in almost every way. The location can't be beat. It's in a very smart area in Amsterdam with great bars, shops, and restaurants nearby. The design of the hotel is very chic. The interior courtyard garden is amazing. Everything was perfect except service at restaurant Jansz. Everyone was well intended but some people (hostess) abandoned post for several minutes and people were left waiting to be received and, &! My case, to collect my coat. This is one area of operation to inspect. Otherwise, everything was so perfect. I've stayed also at the Dylan hotel and Waldorf and I would say that this hotel is better than Waldorf because the design is so smart and not generic like Waldorf. And I would say it's equal to the Dylan. Dylan is also chic but has a more classic design inspiration. Stay here while it's still affordable. I imagine rates will increase once reviews and bookings start coming in.
location, service, and room were great. We paid 30 euro extra at the hotel and had one of the two rooms we booked upgraded. one of the two rooms we booked was on the first floor. At first it looked terrible, but ended up being fine and three older kids stayed there and liked it. We stayed in a room that we paid 30 euro to upgrade to.
I spent there 4 nights with my wife, daughter and two grandchildren (5 and 14 years old). What impressed us most was the unique atmosphere of relax in the most heart of the city, unbelievably delicious cuisine at 238 restaurant and very comfortable pillows!!!! No, everything was perfect
The location. Lots of dislikes and for the price we paid, it is not close to the value that it should be.
The location is very good, having a good access to anywhere from the tram station close to the hotel. The staff is indeed capable and courteous, but I rather wish them to be more leisurely.
Beautiful atmosphere, nice staff and amazing location Breakfast was poor and very expensive.
Stayed here for business and it was great. All the required services and internet were available. As for comfort, the bed was perfect. My only discomfort was that it can get a bit too warm at night despite the heater being off. Also, I have to say that the hotel is beautiful and in a very nice location. It is very easy to find your bearings to find your way back and feel safe even late at night. Would definitely stay here again.
found the hotel to be the perfect location for our vacation in amsterdam. many of the things we wished to see were in walking distance and if not the hotel was very quick to arrange transportation for us. thought the room could be just a little fancier in appearance for the amount of money charged. otherwise - very confortable
We had a very nice room with a view on the canal;
great location, walking distance to most things, nice garden too much renovation, halls not very attractive
clean hotel WIFI is absolutely HORRIBLE. you would pretty much get no wifi in the room. you have to go to the lobby to get SLOW wifi.
very friendly staff.
Great location. Friendly staff. Clean.
location smaller rooms. beds wasn't comfort. tel in the room didn't work and I didn't even got suggestion what to do
Staff is friendly and professional Hotel location is superb! Matress of the bed was old and needs replacement Hotel can be cleaner for a 4 stars
We loved the location. It was excellent. Close to Dam Square and to the railway central station. We could walk everywhere. The reception staff was nice The room was very very small. No closet for our clothes. Just a tiny narrow and short place to hang a few shirts. No place in the bathroom even for putting a towel while showering. The WiFi didn't work for 95% of the time.
The staff was the best. Helpful in all instances. Great location.
good location in the city center overprice for such small room, stinky room small bathroom front desk ask us for 50 euros deposit at the check in with poor explanation why they take security deposit this hotel shouldn't be call 4 stars is deserve maximum 2 stars elevator such slow and small that barley feet ours luggage and us. we do travel a lot in Europe and south America and we never had such bad "stay"
The staff was friendly everyday, helping to make reservations and directions. We had move rooms after 1 night and they were accommodating. The worst thing about this hotel is that you can hear even the slightest noise from the rooms up above you. I got woken up almost every night by people coming home from the bars at 1 or 2am. I thought it was just loud drunk people but after changing rooms we could the people above us again.
Obviously, one of the best locations in the city since it's ridiculously close to Dam sq After reading quite a lot of reviews talking about the size of the room we got to the hotel a little worried. Well, either PVC has different room sizes or some of those critics are completely exaggerating. the room we got might not have been luxurious, but it was far from tiny. Quite perfect for people who want their hotel to be close, convenient, nice and cosy. The staff, btw, we're extremely helpful and always smiley. FREE WIFI!!! Cleaning rooms is being done partially and irregularly The bathroom had one kind of liquid soap for everything(hands, body, shampoo) also, there was very little of it. Our reservation did not incl. breakfast which also increased expanses.
Location: near Dam Square, but not close enough to hear noise. Friendly staff. Single room was a little small, but manageable.
Great atmosphere Small bed
Cannot say enough about how great our stay was here! We extended our stay by a day we loved it so much. The prices were very reasonable. They checked us in 2 hrs early with zero hassle. All of the room supplies were included. While not exceedingly spacious, everything about the room and hotel oozed modern style. There was interesting literature on the shelves. The beds were clean and comfortable. In the lobby was a hip restaurant with delicious and affordable faire which we frequented almost every day, and at night became a popular bar until 1 am. There were many other places to eat, shop, or stroll past from the Hoxton's central location, but it was far enough removed from the main tourist areas to feel somewhat local. I would recommend this place to anyone except maybe those traveling with children, as I believe they had to "cheat" to fit us into a single room, and we are smaller than your average humans as it was.
My single room was tiny. It was impossible to see the television from the bed. In the evening, the lobby turned into a very crowded and noisy nightlife venue. Because of the crowd, it was difficult to get in and out of the hotel. Would never stay here again.
I had a lovely stay with very helpful staff in a cosy atmosphere. I recommend sipping a cocktail by the fireplace! Nothing I can think of.
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent location of hotel, rooms were clean and comfortable. The coffee machine was brilliant. Would have prefered to have a room with a canal view and located in the main part of hotel not the annexe
Staff, Bed, Pillows:) Internet Access
Everything...! Staff is charming, the room #405 (bridal suite) is marvelous even located in the annex and the main building for breakfest is suberb...
very comfortable and quiet hotel room not very big. Considering the price, breakfast should be included.
We liked a lot the way the hotel is decorated a lot, it's old classic style. Apart from that, the service was very good, personnel is nice and friendly. That the heating was switched off while room cleaning and you had to come back to the cold room.
Good value for the price and location in the center of town. Very nice staff and reasonably priced breakfast!
The Staff were amazing and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in.
Stayed for 4 nights and felt it was our "home" . The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the restaurants and sites we were interested in.
warm and friendly welcome. Smaller room but cleen and beautiful. Nice breakfest and Special interior design. Room a bit small
The best feature for us was the staff and their commitment to guest care. The location is excellent ..close to galleries etc and right on a peacrful section of canal. The back garden of the hotel is unique and difficult to better as a place to relax after a long day viewing and walking.. The hotel is close to some excellent restaurants includimg the black and blue. As above
It is run by a family and they are very warm and friendly. It is conveniently located very close to Amsterdam CS & DAM Square
The staff of the Hotel was extremely kind and helpful, also in its advices for restaurants and city visit. Very nice and convenient position.
All good, Polite, clean and great location...I Will be back soon Everything was ok and no complaints at all
Lovely, charming hotel with very helpful and friendly staff, excellent location. I had a nice and clean room on the second floor, fully equiped, overlooking the gardens. The bed was more comfortable than I have at home :) It is a special feeling to discover how it is living along an Amsterdam canal, as you have your own entrance next to the reception. I will definetely return to 't Hotel!
The location, the real Amsterdam feeling. The breakfast starts late, on Sunday - 8.30. Quite uncomfortable for a hotel.
the location, the view from the windows and the modernised rooms, loby etc. facilities in the rooms (no minibar, chair, desc etc.) - because the room was very small (no. 471
Clean, good location. Staff rude, changed our room about 5 times to get the one we wanted, barged into our room when we checked out 5 minutes late, overall wouldnt recommend for the price.. they act like having you is a chore and dont ever give you any help.
It was a lovely clean room with very friendly staff. It was in a nice central location. Breakfast was nice. We had the small room which was close to the reception but it was an ok size for a weekend away. It would have been nice to have tea/coffee facilities in the room.
i liked the location and the room. the bed was a little too soft.
Location, bright room overlooking the canal and helpful staff N/A
Internet acces from the rooms and free available
The location is excellent, the beds were comfortable and breakfast was good. The bathroom had some humidity problems and the luggage storage room was very small and unguarded.
location bed was terrible
It was very close to the Anne Frank House, the train station, and lots of restaurants. The staff let me in my room early to store my luggage and change clothes. Breakfast was not included in the price of the room.
The friendly and helpful attitude of the reception staff. The location.
Very pleasant staff, great cat and lovely location. No tea or coffee making facilities in room
Staff very friendly. This Hotel was very quiet and safe. It was very close to Dam Square, but still away from the high trafic area! We had a double room without bathroom. The communal shower wasn't my favorite. It was essentially a closet with a shower stall in it. Took a bit of getting used to...but it served the purpose!!!
The staff was sincerely friendly, curteous and very helpful in finding local restaurants and shops. Hotel Hegra felt like a Bed & Breakfast. The hotel rents bikes which are in excellent condition and the rate was very reasonable. Accomodations were simple, but very clean and well maintained. The stairs to the rooms were steep and narrow but with smaller luggage, it was not a huge obstacle. Our room had a spectacular view of the Herengracht (canal). Hotel Hegra is in a quiet, scenic neighborhood, and still within a few minutes walk from almost everything Amsterdam has to offer. Its located in the "9-Streets" area which offers tons of boutique shops and restaurants, and is 2 easy blocks from a tram to Centraal Station.
Location, clean Really, really small rooms
Cosy and peaceful, friendly and very helpful people. Felt like I was in a little country cottage. Room was overpriced for its size.
