Great looking room with a lot of care put into the decor; breakfast area with deck on the canal. Poor ventilation in the bathroom--not so good if you are travelling with a companion!
It was a wonderful hotel. Beautiful room overlooking a canal. Very clean and decorated well. The breakfast was lovely and included an option to order off a menu. I would give it a higher start rating and highly recommend it. Nothing.
There was a lot of noise on the street in front of the hotel, youths shouting. The building is old, which means you can hear guests in the other rooms, even on other floors.
Front desk staff were pleasant - the hotel was convenient to everything That fresh towels were not provided each day - At home because towels might stay damp, they are washed, if not each day, definitely every other day. I realize this may have occurred because I was staying several nights, but towels at home are laundered more frequently...I am sure if I had complained, the problem would have been taken care of.
the decor was very welcoming and the staff helpful and friendly. Also, the breakfast was excellent. the bed was slightly uncomfortable. Also, the wireless does not reach the top floors and thus one had to be in the lounge downstairs. No ability to skype since there are no cell-phone conversations in the lounge (if there is no wireless signal in the room).
Location, substantial breakfast, coziness and atmosphere, 2 computers to use at no charge The mattress, no elevator but front desk staff helped carry my luggage up and down stairs.
Location was excellant. Hotel was quaint, warm and cosy The only little point would be no lift. Majority of the time not a problem just when you have suitcases.
Staff friendliness and good value for money. Location is great and premises are clean!
Beautiful view of the canal, large room, comfortable bed, WiFi access, lovely sunny breakfast room. Family owned, all around charming hotel!
Excellent location, good size room, comfortable and good breakfast
Great location. Right on a canal, close to most top sights. Sweet breakfast room with lots of windows looking out on street and canal.
Central Location but not noisy - beautiful homely building - great breakfast - lovely staff. Free internet access everything was brilliant and they have a lovely Dog Taz !! It was all good, cant complain about anything - It was so cold in Amsterdam and we asked for extra blankets the staff were so helpful !!
excellent value for the quality since it was opened for only two days there were some unfinished details that need to be polished.
Large and comfortably beds. Fair Price. 20-30 Min to Centraal Station via Tram The Rooms have no Windows! You even cant see whats the weather like. As we entered the room it was very stinky and we couldnt get some fresh air, because there is no window... And the worst: the bathroom is not separated the room. the toilet is right behind the bed, seperated by one wall but without any door. even if you love your partner there is absolutly no privatsphere. i would never book a hotel like this again.
Second stay in the last month at the Qbic. Great hotel, incredible beds and great price.
For such a low price, I was impressed with the ease of travelling to the city centre, great public transport links. No privacy when using the toilet! You could not stay in these rooms with someone unfamiliar, it wouldn't be too hard to at least put a screen up.
very practical located no door in the wc and no room heating
light effects and king size bed rooms smaller than in pictures,no door for bathroom
Very beautiful and strange
Close to airport, funky, clean, friendly staff. Not close to many restaurants, not many food options.
The bed is very good!
Design Room was too cold and heating was not properly.
The noise of the railway on 25th November during the night was so loud that my partner & I had no sleep that evening. In fact I would request a refund as the vibrations & noise werer so disruptive & invasive
Style and comfort of the room, great location, park outside.Lots of information on where to go. breakfast delivered to the room every day.
Almost all satisfied us. There was no elevator up to the 3rd floor but, narrow and steep steps, which tired us.
The personal attention which Martin gives his guests
Very friendly atmosphere, kind and helpful hoteliers (Martin & Franz – keep on doing this way!), quite place close to see sights, abundant and yummy breakfast
Before leaving we knew about good opinions about this hotel, but when we arrived we saw with pleasure that everything we heard about it is true. The hotel is situated in cental position and well served by the public transports. The service is excellent and the rooms are extremely comfortable and clean. The breakfast is great. The owners are very frendly and their suggestions are so usefull for your holiday in Amsterdam! Good choice!
Clean, comfortable rooms. Very helpful staff (Martin). Relatively quiet neighborhood. Nice roof terrace. Ample breakfast.
A lovely clean and friendly hotel in a fantastic location.
The service of the staff. Good information on what to see in Amsterdam. The cleaning of the room. The breakfast.
Attention to details was excellent along with the accommodations. The owners were most friendly and informative as to sites to visit, restaurants and shops. Great experience and great location
Very nice room, great location, extremely helpful staff, great breakfasts (enough for lunch too)
The staff was friendly, the location was excellent, just of the leidsplein. The room was basic but clean and the beds were made each morning. There was free internet access and we were allowed to leave our bags for free on the day we checked out. There was an unpleasent smell from communal toliets in the hallways. I would advise getting a private bathroom, as we did, if you plan to stay.
The location of the hotel All the deposits needed for towels etc and the stairs
Great Location and very helpful Staff Stairs are very steep
the view on the canals small room for 4 people, no wardrobe
It's Location Other than the climb up 5 stories to our room (our Choice) and the limited offerings for breakfast.
Good location, kind stafff. Small room.
Nice hotel! Is a nice location outside the centre. Shared facilities were minimal!
Short walk from Leidseplein. They call themselves a Hotel, but this is really a hostel that books double rooms. The rooms were tiny with uncomfortable beds. The shared "bathroom" barely allowed enough space to be inside and close the door. The shared shower was o.k. but is only on the first floor, so if you are on the 2nd or 3rd floor you must descent the dangerously steep and narrow stairs.
Very friendly staff, comfy bed Shower was not consistant. It kept going from really hot to really cold.
central location very clean contemporary style would thoroughly recommend it the steepness of the stairs!!!!
The location the room size and all the new things at the hotel The staris to the room
excellent warm atmosphere,we felt as if it was our own studio in Amsterdam, not just a hotel...excellent location as well...large room, modern design, comfortable bed.. breakfast in the room is a great idea!..we definitely would go back there maybe we would have enjoyed a cabin in the shower but we managed anyway
The breakfast was substantial, the cleanliness was superb and Willem was extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing.
the room was as shown, large, cleanand the bed was large and comfortable. The en-suit was a wet room which was fantastic nothing
Location of hotel is excellent. Really nice room. Negotiating the stairs to the top floor was tough after a few drinks!!
the bread in the morning and the modern design throughout the place. nothing - I had a wonderful time.
It was in a great location.
Location The immense stairs (no elevator) were not mentionned in the hotel description. Poor breakfast.
I was impressed with the classy decor, coffee machine in the room, cleanliness, clever use of space, great bathroom, good location( though a tad noisy as night due to nearby nightclubs) and I would definitely recommend it. Excellent value for money.
the location.... is an optimal position in amsterdam... and the two girls who work to reception... are two splendid angels....
Leaving This hotel would be better described as a hostel, although I would imagine that most hostels aren't as filthy, mouse-ridden and as scruffy as this place. The staff were aggressive when challenged and I didn't feel at all safe during my stay. The pictures make it look cheap and cheerful but in reality it's dirty, unsafe and very very disappointing.
the position of hotel was perfect, the room was too clean
I can't complain. We were living in a triple room with my 2 buddies. First we were shocked, because the first impression was the room could be a disaster (doors of cupboard were hanging, the wooden lining was rather shabby) but the fact was that the room was quite spacious, clean (cleaning every day, also towel and linen change) with a good bathroom. The continental breakfast was also great (buns, ham, cheese, juices, tea, cereals, milk). My advice: perfect location, good price, take it -the walls are thin -it's a 1* hotel, so nothing for families and lovepairs :-)
Very poor accomadation no room in the room. Graffiti all over walls in bathroom.
Location. It was very cold in room.
Friendly Reception staff. Big, heavy, single glazed, window.
location No lift, noisy, dirty, people smoking inside including reception staff. Not suitable at all for a family to stay in.
Location No lift they do not accept credit the hotel insist to pay cash
Good location, frandliness of the staff. dusty, with some broken furniture. Did not empty the buskets. Once forgot to wake me up.
I liked leaving this place. Staff rude Wi-Fi only in lobby Rooms TINY Maybe 5' x 12' Bathrooms TINY and old The Man checking in next to me was quoted $60 and I paid $100. I could have walked in off of the street and saved $40. I wouldn't have stayed even for $60 though. Staff NOT friendly.
Location was good. Tower bells ringing all night. Steep stairs. Shared bathroom/shower. Small room. Uncomfortable bed
smoking room, near dam square
Great location, very good conditions, cosy room, nice guy at the reception when I checked in, very helpful and professional, and even speaking Polish wich was quite nice The only bad point was the girl in the reception when I was checking out. She tried to serve two guestes at one time and talked on the phone with sb asking for reservation, thereby none of the persons she served was satisfied. In the end she forgot to take from me the the door key card and was totally lost. Too expensive breakfast
Friendly staff, Hassle free.
location was good,it was very clean and did its job. needed more suger in room for the hot drinks.
There's a Lidl groove across the street for easy food options. VERY small room. Kinda like a closet with a need in it.
I liked the bathroom. I liked the staff. I liked the location. I didn't like how the red carpets were stained and dirty. The walls next to our beds were filthy. Our room smelled of smoke from approximately 11:00pm - 2:00am every night. Our window was directly onto the sidewalk so we could not have the windows open.
Comfort and convenience None
Lovely room with a nice view of the canal. The bathtub was amazing for jet lag recovery.
the room, its kitchenette and bathroom I would rather prefer a double bed instead of twin beds
value of the hotel steep narrow stairs getting to the top floor
the room was excellent, it was cleaned and confortable.
Small hotel with only 4 rooms; feels more like a house. The owner - friendly, helpful - lives on the first floor. Clean, functional rooms. Great location, 15 mins walk to the Centre along the canal. Hotel is noisy! Walls are thin and it being an older house with creaky staircase etc. one can hear pretty much all the movement in the hallways at night, incl. a shower running next door early in the morning. The solution would be simple - wear earplugs!- which we unfortunately did not bring.
nice and clean room, close to tram stop-easy to get to central station, good value for money we haven't space to keep our clothes -in triple room was only rail with few hangers, no shelves or wardrobe
This is a room in a private house and not a hotel. The owner, Fokko, is extremely helpful and helped us with carrying our luggage up some very steep stairs. Location excellent, clean, like Amsterdam rooms, very small, but well planned. Tiny but well equipped bathroom, kitchen in a small closet inthe rrom, again well equipped. The room wsa so small, there was hardly any place to open the bags or hang clothes. But this is what one would expect in a city like Amsterdam, that too centrally located and for the price.
Dukes Suite: Spacious room, good size fridge, bathroom was also a good size, Double Bed (2 singles attached) was comfortable, got our own set of keys to get in and out.The owner was also very nice and friendly. Because we were in the Dukes Suite which is at the very top so we had 4 flights of steep stairs to climb, but didn't really bother us.
Close to a metro station for quick transfer from Centre Station and airport. Lovely canal side house with 4 apartments. We were in the Duke suite in the eaves of the house. Plenty big enough for the 3 of us. Quiet location but easy to walk into the city centre and to all important sites. Close to a supermarket for buying provisions although there were basic ingredients left in the apartment. The owner was very accommodating and we would definitely stay here again. Significantly better value than staying in a hotel and much more atmospheric. There are 65 steep steps from the front door to the apartment. No lift!
