Tow for puncture repair took too long, 4 pm to midday to be mobile again. If car had a spare tire I would have fixed it myself no time.
Our first car had a broken key fob. Returned it and they tried to give me a smaller car that didn't fit everything we had to carry. Had to push for what I rented (mid-sized SUV) but was eventually acommodated. Car was nice, new and clean. Only other issue was the toll pass, they charged me $29 in convenience fees for $16 worth of tolls which is ridiculous.

We ordered a premium smaller vehicle and when we picked it up, they said they needed to send someone upstairs to go get our vehicle and bring it down. We waited 45 minutes and asked people about it 3 times before we finally got our car. And when we did, the car was not ever upstairs. It was sitting right behind the booth, in the lot with everything else. They were just so disorganized they didn’t know it. There was also only one person there helping people. So we watched several other people have to wait very long wait times just to speak to the person to get their car. And this was in the garage, not in the office.

They couldn’t answer basic questions about the EV rental—such as what type of charging port the car uses, how much charge it would have at pickup, or how much was required upon return. I picked up the rental at 1 a.m., and these were important details to know. Extremely poor experience at the MIA counter and at the gate leaving the rental place.

Awful experience. Overcharged us almost $375 dollars, which included a hidden fuel charge.
Couldn’t beat a one day rental for $22. Pick up was fairly easy although the guy in front of me in line took forever. Car was ready to go, clean, no cigarette smells or anything else that was obnoxious, full tank of gas. Return was just as easy and by the time I got in the shuttle, I had my receipt. Shuttle buses run every 20 minutes and the driver was a really nice guy and safely drove us back-and-forth. I’ve rented from this facility before and while it does take a little more time because you need to take a shuttle bus from the rental car center, you do save a lot more money.

Pros - None Cons - Wait time to get a car is 1 - 2 hours (I am not kidding) - Wait time in line to get a car is 1 - 2 hours. - Line is always out the door. - No cars are available in a timely fashion. - If your license is damaged, you are SOL (even though they know who you are). - You can not rebook the car rental in real time at the counter if you have trouble. - I ended up taking an Uber to the Miami Car Rental Center at the airport and got a Car Rental there (I know, it's that bad). Overall it's a really bad discount Car Rental facility. I will not do business with these places ever again. Getting a car from here can ruin your trip. Just book the Car Rental from a reputable brand at the airport and reduce the cost of your airfare or hotel to offset it.

Desk was closed with zero signage. I received a email stating “skip the line” in order to check out virtually via “Web Check Out”. The process did not work despite repeated attempts. The original email confirmation I received came from Hertz, so I tried that desk, which took 1 hour to go through before being seen. After which they said they could not help me and I needed to go to Dollar instead. I then proceeded to wait in the Dollar line which took an additional 30 minutes, only for them to tell me I didn’t need to wait in line at all because I had completed “Web Check Out” (which never worked). Dollar sent me to the garage where they accepted my reservation but still had to wait yet ANOTHER 45 minutes before finally getting in a car. Absolutely terrible management and a terrible experience. Will never use Thrifty again.

When I booked, there were gas vehicles available for the same price but was given an electric vehicle with no instructions on how or where to charge it. I upgraded to a gas vehicle and it ended up costing me more when they were available for the same price in the beginning. The car I ended up receiving worked but felt like the clutch was slipping and wouldn't engage properly.

Traveling with a disabled daughter, I rented from Hertz because the ad said it was in the airport. However, It was a train, two elevators, and at least a mile away. When we finally got to the counter, we had to wait for over an hour in line. Then I was told I need a toll scanner, an extra driver charge, a deposit, and in 5 minutes my $ 326 rental for the week was over $700!!! False advertising in every respect. I will never rent from Hertz again after being a customer for over 30 years! Who is running this business?

Pickup of car was very smooth and quick ...also I had an issue with the first vehicle I got as the tires where completely flat so I had to return the vehicle for an exchange ...the lady at the Fort Lauderdale airport that helped me with the exchange was very accommodating and nice about setting me up in a different vehicle.

Wonderfully surprised by Easirent!! It was a very last minute booking as Enterprise majestically f**ked up by not having any vehicles whereas we had a reservation .... (literally just like a Seinfeld episode). So we booked a car with Easirent, and not only it was fairly priced, but they also were super friendly and effective at the location, but the car was quite decent, and there were no hidden fees. Of course, if you don't have insurance coverage already, that's an extra, as well as the daily toll fee thing (but that's the case for ANY rental car these days). But we really only paid what we booked for ($42 for one day), plus the $14 daily toll fee (unlimited tolls, was worth it for our itinerary). Returning the car was equally as easy and quick as picking it up, and everyone was efficient and nice. Well done Easirent. One note on the location: while this did not matter to us, the location in a run-down industrial sketchy neighborhood in the "burbs" of the airport may be a little shocking or dissuading for some people, and especially tourists. But it's actually very close to the airport (10min walk to the airport train station), and we never felt unsafe while walking. It's just not a fancy neighborhood.

First of all I booked a convertible, but when I was there it turned out there was no any. So I had a rebook a new car, which was usual. Additional to this they had no any insurance included, so I had to buy basic insurance per day plus a huge deposit, that was not returned till today, even though I returned a car 4 days ago.
For the agent to stop pressuring me to buy their insurance packages .. besides that 10+ rental - best value for the money.

Unfortunately the guy at the counter changed my drop off time from my reservation so they tried to charge us an extra two hours when we returned the car. When we arrived, they said there was one car available in our price group (full/standard car)… but it had Totally Bald Tires - no treads on the front two tires at all. They had mini vans available with good tires, but said that would cost a significant amount more money. We waited there for over an hour, and one of the guys finally brought up a car from the back that had better tires. The person who drove the shuttle & eventually found the safe car was very nice. It just took a long time and it always upsets me when they offer you cars with tires that are unsafe. (We had a rental car tire shred on a busy interstate once - terrifying.) The shop is a shuttle ride away from the airport, also. All in all, an ok experience, but won’t return.

I was originally quoted $42.49 for the rental, but when we arrived—after an extended wait—the price was inexplicably increased to $185.45. This bait-and-switch was unacceptable. To make matters worse, the experience was terrible from start to finish. My family, including my young child, had to wait over an hour in the sweltering 90-degree Miami heat. We were crammed into a tiny, enclosed cubicle with no fan or ventilation, forced to communicate with a representative only via a computer screen. The lack of basic comfort and human interaction was frustrating and unprofessional. This was one of the most disappointing service encounters I’ve ever had. lastly would like to ask for a refund. thank you Kayak and Expedia

For the price it was a good deal. With that price expect some downsides. The rental company is not on location and you have to wait for a shuttle, which can be difficult with luggage. There was only one employee checking out for all the off Airport rental companies, so the wait time was longer. The security deposit is 500, double from what the other rental companies cost. You have to check out your own rental, look for any damages take pictures and document them on this damage sheet, then bring them back the sheet and sign off. After just getting off a 4 hr flight we were exhausted. In the end we saved $200 but paid for it in extra time and effort.

I got charged $78 and didn’t get it returned or included in my rental cost.
I am still requesting a refund. I did not take the rental, deception, misleading advertising, they charge in spite I cancelled the rental because they did not honored the agreed purchase contract. Unlimited miles offer became $50 per day at the counter, $14.99 per day unlimited tolls became $18.99 per day at the counter, I have a complete written agreement including terms small print. They are professional thieves that are hurting the public, no transparency, they mastered deception. I am still fighting for my refund. I will report the case to the Federal Trade Commission and to the Consumer Protection Agency. NextCar are absolutely shameless.

The car was clean, but the sale tactics were not. I had prepaid for the vehicle and read all of the fine print listed on the rental page before purchase...and also the NextCar policy page on their website! Yet when arriving to pick up the vehicle, agent Johan said my insurance declaration page was not sufficient (it has never been a problem before, anywhere) and that I must pay for their liability insurance. It was twice the price of the vehicle per day. I wasted over an hour trying to communicate the unfairness, but they pointed to a line in their MIA franchisee website (not the NextCar home page) that justified their charges. Bad faith business.

I liked the car and the staff friendliness. There were fees that I was not aware of until check in. The fees that are not typical should be flagged in the site.
It was really hard to find the shuttle driver and when we did it took us to a sketchy feeling part of town took us into a warehouse and had us talk with a representative with a very heavy accent over a computer screen. We were not told where to bring the car back - turns out we had to find the sketchy warehouse back and they could not take us back to our hotel even though it was closer than the airport.

It wasnt the car that we had originally rented. It was nice but was not big enough for our party. We were told we would loose our money already paid at 12 at night and that this was the only option. They couldnt speak very good english and a $200 insurance was still placed on my card after I told them not to.

Two phone calls were required to get airport pickup. The would not accept my auto insurance card, they wanted the declaration page. Next time I'll just go to enterprise
Kayak sent confirmation email with address to pick up at airport. At airport car was not there, Payless said Expedia manages rental call them. Expedia provides customer support for this kayak booking. Neither kayak nor Expedia would provide any customer support, could not get human on phone. Had to Uber 8 miles to different rental location. Kayak misrepresented booking and uses fraudulent business practices.

The absolute worst experience I've ever had with a rental car company. Kayak should consider removing them from their search results. This company does not treat customers with respect. I actually never picked up my rental because no one was at the counter and I called them and a manager was supposed to come help me. I waited for 2hrs and at 1am I said forget it and got a car from Avis. There were half a dozen others in my situation with Payless. Horrendous service and total disrespect to paying customers.

i rented a a full size nissan ALITMA as you can see at the reservation. But when i arrived to pick it up FOX RENT CAR told i rented a STANDARD CAR Nissan Sentra. That was a rouge problem for me because i hab to many baggage to put in. Another problem is FOX RENTAL held a kind of insurance in my credit card and till now they didnt give me back my money. They didn’t have the car I thought we were getting and had hard time with the counter personal . Also had hard time finding where to go when we got off the plane . There is no clear instructions about where to go and the information that was provided was not very good as to who to call for that information . It took several calls to different numbers before we found out where to go to get our rental

We had a disappointing experience with the car rental company MexRentacar. We paid a certain price and purchased insurance through KAYAK, but when we arrived to pick up the car, the rental company would not accept the insurance and forced us to buy another one. The car that was supposed to cost $120 ended up costing $300, not to mention the nearly two-hour wait for service, the remote location, and the fact that when returning the car, the address listed on their website does not exist. They charged a $500 deposit and said it could take up to 30 days to refund it. Terrible experience.

I was required to pay extra for their insurance although I have my own full coverage which covers rentals. The only option was to pay $145 extra for their liability insurance or try to cancel through the third party I rented through and find a new vehicle. Additionally I had to wait for an hour on my vehicle which was already supposed to be ready when I arrived.

Literally everything about the experience was terrible. It’s impossible to talk to a human, you can only ask them to text you back which appears to be some type of ai bot that says the same thing over and over. I advised them I would be delayed they told me to come ahead anyway, they had already given away my car, there were no other cars they knew that already and still advised me to get a shuttle to their office to tell me in person that I had to go back to the airport and book elsewhere. Totally ridiculous customer service, also all the pick up instructions are wrong they claim the shuttle pick up is level 3, adamantly. I wandered around level 3 forever until someone from Hertz assured me no shuttles pick up on 3 and all shuttle pick ups occur on level 4. They know this and won’t take 10 minutes to update their instructions. This is the worst rental company I have ever dealt with.

We were told that we needed to buy the extra Sunpass because Miami is full of tolls. We described where we would drive for 3 days and were told there would be lots of tolls on those roads. In the end, we only went through two tolls and paid over $60 extra for a sunpass we hardly used. It would have been better off to pay separately. Additionally, we were charged an extra 3rd party liability insurance fee and were told we could not rent the car without it. I did some research later and could not find that this is a requirement. I feel like what started out as a good deal through KAYAK ended up costing us another $200 in the end.

I booked a rental through Kayak because the rate looked reasonable, but the experience at pickup was extremely disappointing. When I arrived, the agent told me I had to purchase their insurance because my personal Allstate policy carries a $1,000 deductible, while they require a maximum $250 deductible. Their insurance was priced at a very high per‑day premium — so high that it made the entire rental uneconomical. I declined, walked away, and ended up using Uber for my time in Miami, which was far cheaper and far less stressful. This felt like a classic bait‑and‑switch. I won’t be renting from them again, and I’d advise others to be cautious about hidden requirements and unexpected add‑on costs.

By picking up the car they charge us € $50 cleaning service but the car was not clean. Even the employee told us that they did not have time to clean the car. They also charge us a airport fee while we pick up the car ourself. The Van inside was not save. My family members scratch they feet and were bleeding because the bucle thing were broken and ould wires were coming out. This hapened at 2 times. When we bring the Van back we told them about this and also show them our foot how scratched it was and bleeding but they did not say anything. We also travel with a baby and a carseat that we could not buckle up so it was not safe for my baby. For the price we pay for just 4 days of renting this was ridiculous and we want the costst that were applied but the service was not given to us. We want it back!! We rent a Van and we were traveling with 8 people

Rented a 12 passenger van for a college trip with students to study marine biology in southern Florida for 3 weeks. Reservation and rental agreement indicated $889 as total price, $500 (approx) downpayment was made at reservation. Upon arrival, they charged me $1,500 and said there is some required insurance although my University pays for full insurance on all fleet rentals. I do not see this in the details on expedia. The van was in poor condition - dent in the back with cracked bumper from a prior accident. One seat was literally zip-tied on. Two seats did not have seat belts so effectively serves as a 10 passenger vehicle. The zip-tied seat and missing seat belts would be against the law so I have reported this to Florida's Attorney General office for investigation.

The America Car Rental is still forcing you to buy a liability insurance when you pick up the car. It’s more than $50 USD per day Which's is a under the table deal - a cheating game!

No one was at desk until 8:30am when I booked at 7:30am and they said it was because I booked too late at night and they didn’t know they needed to be there. Yet when I returned it the next day at 8:30am still no one was there and no one would pick up the dispatch phone. I left the car with the keys in it and havent heard from the compnay or received an email and its now 24 hrs since drop off.

The company gives a very unprofessional impression and the charges are not transparent. They try every means to make customers spend more money. The marked price seems very low, but they require me to purchase the minimum insurance of $130. In fact, my driver's license already includes insurance. Then they also ask me to pay $19 for tolls. I have had many car rental experiences, but I have never encountered a car rental company as bad as America rental car. I immediately cancelled the rental with the counter staff on the spot, the stuff agree cancel the order and also requested the priceless car rental platform to refund the rental deposit I had paid. Thank you!
There were unclear instructions regarding pickup times from the rental place. We arrived 1.5 hours after our 9am pickup. There was no car left. So we had no car the entire day. And they kept our money. Please provide a refund for the rental.

Terrible. Was quoted a price. Paid that price when we paid online but for some reason the insurance was dropped, saying “you can discuss this with an agent at time of pick up”. Furthermore, the insurance cost. $200 before it was dropped. We drive all the way to Miami, 2 hours, just to find out we can’t rent the car because we refuse to pay almost $1200 for insurance. This would have been no big deal but they don’t want to give a refund either. So they lied about the cost of the insurance, allowed me to purchase the car rental, let me drive out to pick it up, I choose to cancel based on terrible communication and my ability to find a better rental, and no refund. This has been almost a joke

Our flight was delayed and then placed on a hold at altitude once we reached Miami. Our car was given away while we circled the Miami airport and we had to go with another company.
When booking the rental car it was not clear that the rental car location was off the airport property. Also, we were required to pay for a toll activation fee of $20/day and had to purchase insurance for $30/day. These fees were not disclosed until we got to the desk. Also, there is only an hour pickup window, and we were hassled because our flight was delayed. There is a $500 security deposit. The additional fees charges at the time we picked up the car were an additional $350 on top of what we had already paid to reserve the car. Do not recommend booking with this company.

This is borderline not a real company. I am not a regular car renter and just pick from the top of the list on kayak for price. The ad said "in terminal" which was more appealing than taking the train and long shuttle. Not only was it not in the thermal, after getting to where all the normal major brands were located, there was no signs, no indicators of where to go. This caused some panic. I referent the booking receipt that was so vague it had just an address. I asked one of the floor brokers and he said he would call the guy and send someone to get me and to wait at a bus terminal. It was not marked or had any indicators of any kind. At that time I looked up reviews and it made me sick. Never more than a one star. I rebooked another common brand on the spot and wasn't going that route..
I was very disappointed. I filtered on Kayak for car rentals at the airport, specifically not ones that required a shuttle as I was traveling with 3 little kids. To my surprise yesaway was not at the airport and required a shuttle. To make things worse they do not have a shuttle and my wife and I needed to each sit with a child on our lap (both ways). Yesaway is also not the rental company they outsource to a different company called victory, which took 20 min to find our reservation. After. 13 hour flight I was planning to go to the rental center and get. Car, instead I had to look for the company, find the number of a victory and then they had to search for my reservation. We loaded the car with all the bags and car seat only to realize the care had no gas and then switch cars All in all it was a terrible experience.
rental was 300 but insurance was 700 + tolls were 200 those huge extra costs were nowhere to be found on kayak. on the website, insurance was 260 and the only reason why we did not buy it online (together with the car rental) is that terms were not clear, and we intended to discuss them in person. big mistake: since they charged us almost 3 times as much for insurance! And tolls? they wanted to charge us 25 dollars (plus the cost of the actual tolls, obviously) for every time we would take a toll road... that's crazy! basically we were forced to purchase "unlimited tolls" for 200 dollars, something never heard of. Besides the extortion, we had to wait well over 1 hour at the car pickup before victorycar empoyee picked us up. And they knew we had been standing there since second 1, because they immediately replied to out whatsapp messages. The car was fine, but the overall experience was bad.
