The car was good and staff was friendly but we were charged more than expected and never received an answer when we questioned this. The amount quoted at the pick-up desk was slightly higher (about $10) than the quote. We planned to return the car with a fulll tank of gas but due to unexpected traffic we weren’t able to stop and were charged $48 (returned it with half of tank, charged for a full tank) and were charged an additional $36 for a recovery fee which we have no idea what this was for or why it was charged.
Loved the ease of picking up the rental and return was the easiest I have ever done. Excellent customer service and no issues.

Left behind a pair of glasses in the car. Went the next day to try to retrieve them. Manager refused to let staff check if glasses had been left behind and insisted that we submit an online claim. Online system to submit claim malfunctioned many times before being able to submit the claim. Also, when we called customer service, we were asked to go directly to the rental counter at the airport.

The employee was wonderful. The car was clean and new, but we booked a midsize SUV and got a ‘Kicks’ that was uncomfortable and so small my husband and my elbows were bumping each other over the center console . My real issue is the up charging. I paid ahead of time online to save some money, and when we arrived, they tacked on $400+ of extra fees for tolls, another driver, etc. It honestly felt like a huge scam.

Terrible experience. Would NEVER use them again. It took an hour in a very short line to get to even speak to someone at the desk. They were screwing around with us asking for auto insurance (which I don’t have and have never been asked for when renting a car, and my credit card covers rentals). They said my credit card coverage wasn’t enough. I’ve rented cars plenty of times and have never been forced into buying MORE auto insurance coverage. When my partner asked to switch the reservation into her name because she did have auto insurance, they told us that we could not do that. They also said we could not make a new reservation with them at the desk which was completely false as they advertised available cars to anyone who wanted to walk up and make a reservation. They took their sweet time despite being told we had a rush to the hospital for a family emergency. Completely lacking empathy and any sort of morals. I would never rent from them again. It was an absolute nightmare and full on scam.

Price was great, service another matter. Not enough people at the desk and wait were long. Got held up when they asked for certificate of insurance and I was never asked for this before. They also overcharged me for Tolls and when I brough the car back they didn't care that I had no radio/media all week as the volume was broken and the car needed oil and warning light came on.

I had to extend my rental for 16 hours and they shafted me with a $150 dropoff fee plus a $50 change fee plus plus.. cost me almost as much as the week long rental. Disgusting. Completely unwilling to be flexible. Money gr ubbing company. Kayak was of no help. Using kayak effectively disables your ability to modify the reservation through the rental company, and kayak offers zero customer service on car rentals. Every time i tried to connect, call woukd regulary disconnect. Buyer beware of kayak and of fox

They require a $500 deposit which is insane and ridiculous. I had to cancel my entire trip because I didn't have the $500 deposit. I needed that $500 for my trip, I didn’t have that money to give to them so they can hold onto it for fun.

Fox uses deceptive pricing to make their rental cars seem cheaper than other major rental agencies. I rented from fox thinking I was getting a great deal, at the pickup counter the fox representative used scare tactics to get me to buy this extra rental insurance. I didn’t realize at the time my current auto insurance does in fact cover rental vehicles. This unnecessary insurance cost $28.99 per day, there was also a multitude of BS small charges and fees that jacked the price up to about the same as other rental car companies. The bottom line Fox has decent cars but their pricing is deceptive.

Lousy. I got there at my pick up time and there were 6 people ahead of me but only one rep to handle the transaction. He kept going over stories with the client for over 10 minutes and not caring about anyone else. I went next door to ACE and was taken care of in 5 minutes.
I made an online rental and when I arrived there was no car available to rent and they did not know when one would come in. Safe yourself the hassle and rent from one of the on site airport rental companies.

The search process was confusing. I am sure I selected the need to rent at Miami airport, but the search results showed Fort Lauderdale airport. I made the mistake of booking, and I lost the money for two days of car rental
Wait at the airport was half an hour - that's too long. Car was very old - worked fine, but couldn't take client in my car. Ended up calling Uber to get to the restaurant. Insurance verification alone took 20 extra minutes. This should have been required at the time of booking so I could have avoided the delay at the rental office.

They seem like a sketchy operation. Required a $2k security deposit on a car with so much physical damage I am not sure I will get my deposit back. The car had a visible warning light when rented. I used my own insurance. When I wanted to just use their own collision insurance they said I had to purchase all of their coverages for $80 per day. Not worth the risk to deal with them.

I rented two identical cars at the same time, but one was regular priced, and the other was over 50% more expensive, so I asked them to make it the same price, but they said no, so I said I would cancel them all, and they said they would cancel them without a penalty, but when I checked my Visa card today, $173.96 (can) was taken out. For TWENTY minutes after returning our rental a wallet was mistakenly left in the vehicle. After twenty mins we returned and were given the wallet, but without the thousand dollars that was in it. I didn't receive help at the time and needed to catch our flight. However, since then my reports to Alamo have gone unanswered. The policy is they aren’t responsible for unattended items… no surprise there. But their lack of interest in rooting out an employee who so plainly stole a significant amount of money is… disheartening. Had my concern been escalated at the time, the employee could have been caught red-handed and the money even potentially returned. Instead, I’ve heard nothing from Alamo. I’ve left website, messaging, phone, and customer service chat complaints. No response. No response to my requests they view camera footage and the log of who was in the vehicle. At this point I’m frustrated that this hasn’t been addressed. If they aren’t going to return the money (because they didn’t take the time to speak to their employees) they should at least police them when reports of theft are made. If not, customers will have to make actual police reports.

There were hidden cost. The staff was not friendly and told me the insurance we paid with kayak was not the one that they required so I had to pay an extra insurance to be able to pick up the car. Then they said my drivers license was not easy to read so they made me wait longer (this didn’t happen to me the week before when I rented with other company using the same drivers license)

I like that Hertz is pushing forward with AI and the contactless rental. I was supposed to be on the Gold Board, so I could just look at the board and go find my car. I checked in correctly and everything was ready. But the flight took off 4 hours late, landing at 3:30am -- after the FLL rental center was closed. My (and other renters') reservations disappeared. Thankfully, Hertz brought on a human a little after 4am, and they helped the line of waiting customers. Hertz was able to match most people up with the car type they had reserved. What disappointed me EXTREMELY is that Hertz KNEW some of its customers were coming on that flight that now landed in the middle of the night... yet Hertz didn't send A SINGLE TEXT after the one saying they'd text us 1 hour prior to landing. It's as if the Hertz system fell apart. None of us (who were already exhausted and confused by the car-rental center being closed) received a text confirming that a car would be ready, nor that they knew our flight was coming,... Communication from Hertz just vanished.

Unless something changes, my credit card reflects a charge of over $200 for a one day rental. For a Nissan Kicks. Because I checked in online, and opted to pick up without standing in line, there was no notification of a hold or additional charge being made. I'm going to see what happens in a few days, and if this is not corrected I will obviously have to address this. It's really frustrating and annoying - makes one want to rather drive, not fly, and then not have to be subjected to this.
When I went to the rental counter with my paperwork, I started to ask a question, and I was just cut off. "I just need to see your credit card and Driver's License. I gave her the ID and she just turned away from me. She then handed me a contract to sign. I looked at it and asked why $38 was added to my bill and she said you came early so that's an extra day. I thought if Ii rented it at 9:30 and returned it at 9:30 I was OK. Lesson learned. I asked if I could pick my car and she said No, that is the only car they have.... I was thinking of buying a Rav4 or Tucson and wanted to test one. She said no! Even though we just walked past them in the lot. Very Blunt Cust. Service! I asked a different agent and they said it is the trap when you pre-rent and tell them a time.

Awful,only 2 staff working,customers had been in line for over an hour to pick up their vehicle. We couldn’t wait,called to cancel,received a cancellation number verbally and was told that we would receive an email confirmation which never happened. No matter how good the price is being offered if the service doesn’t support the offer then it’s not worth it. We would’ve been late for a meeting if we had waited,we took an Uber.

My issue was - in the hotel I was at, I had to use valet parking - the valet driver hit a pipe with the rental car. When I tried to call the official Thrifty number on the contract, I couldn't get a live person AND (as crazy as it seems) kept bringing my to a sales line selling Life Lock. This happened about 10 times. Not kidding. After 9.5 hours of phone calls, paperwork and bringing the damaged car to the Miami airport, I got a replacement car. The customer service person told me to bring the car to the Miami Airport. Note - when I brought it to the damaged car to the Miami Airport, the person at the Thrifty car rental refused to replace it. Again, not kidding. After about 1 hour of arguing with him and trying to call customer service back, they FINALLY accepted it. The experience was terrible. And, I'm not kidding about the 9.5 hours from the time of the accident - 3:58PM till 1:30AM I was dealing with this issue.
The car was nice and clean. The price was good even though the cost was a good bit more than the original contract. I pre checked in so I could just pick a car and go. Their offer to me, I did not request this. When we tried that we were told to go to the counter. After a 45 minute wait we were told to see an attendant to get a car. Attendant told us to pick one out and go. Nice and smooth return. Person checking us back in was very nice.

This was the worst and most expensive experience. 1) they would not honor my reservation 2)they didn’t have a van available 3) I was charged $400 extra because I didn’t have a reservation and they gave me a SUV, which was a tight fit. 3) didn’t leave from the rental agency until 7pm and had to have the truck back at 6pm 4) Was treated like I was a foreigner who didn’t understand English, I was born in Florida 5) my $532 reservation was over charged to $1229.00 6) Elder abuse Our ages ranged from 64-78. 7) will contact the State Attorney General office this week about the elder abuse and illegal price gouging. 8) I was told to get two cars or change my date, since he didn’t have a van. I showed him my reservation sheet and he said it didn’t matter! The person at the counter for Dollar was Antony! He bragged about what he did to the young man that check at the out going station! Insulting and degrading and embarrassing!!

It was awful. No way to change a reservation. Kayak to Expedia to dollar.. no one had any idea what my reservation number was.
We were told whet to park the return and then we were told that the shuttle was picking us up about 1000 yards away and we had to move our 3 full size pcs of luggage ourselves work little assist over uneven pavement. We are both about 70 so it was a hardship. Since the plane was delayed my reservation was canceled. I do not know car models very well at all I'm 6 feet and the sales agent offered me a Nissan Sentra which I only later learned is a compact car My original reservation was for an intermediate size car. I think I had a really great price originally. I am fairly certain I did not get my original good deal. But I learned a valuable lesson. From now on only Enterprise.

U-Save does not reveal prior to booking the car, that they do not accept most major insurances like mine (Geico). Even with full coverage rental insurance, U-Save will only rent to you, if you pay the obnoxious daily insurance premium that they offer. U-Save also charges an unbearable deposit ($1500-$2000). I did not get the vehicle. I went to my hotel and rented from another company the next day.

We rented a car. Beyond that everything about the experience was extremely poor and almost felt like a scam. The pick up is off site, serviced by a shuttle. The check out took 90 minutes and the insurance issues were extensive. They clearly mark down the car cost and make it all up on insurance and then some. I even got the kayak insurance ahead hoping to manage cost. They refused to accept it. This all just feels dishonest. The car we ordered was a midsize SUV. We got a compact. The car worked fine. The check in process was disorganized and there was no parking. The shuttle was delayed. Overall I would do everything you can to stay away from this company. The price you see online is not the price you pay.

I am very disappointed in kayak for supporting U-Save car rental that operates a scam near by FLL. This review is a warning to anyone who extended to rent from the company. They will scam you in daylight. Kayak needs to stop advertising low car rental rate on behalf of u-save….then for the renter to find out they need pay $600 at a rate $100 per day for insurance despite my full coverage Geico insurance. The price that they quoted us ended up being way more expensive on top of that they still haven't returned or deposit and it's been over 20 days, the car was in pristine condition we dropped it off full tank of gas nothing was wrong. The first time I called they said that it would be returned within 7 to 15 business days and that I could call back after that if it hasn't happened. I just called them and it's been over 20 days and he was trying to give me some excuse that they told him that it was going to be 30 to 40 days and when I asked him to clarify that he said he was going to call me back and he hung up. Terrible terrible company I really want a refund if I'm being honest I'll never use Kayak again if this is the kind of things that happen when you do

We were never picked up! I called after waiting for 45 minutes and the person who finally picked up transferred me back to the audio instructions before I could even finish telling her what was going on. The audio instructions says that the truck was clearly marked with the logo and there were no trucks with the name SURPRICE on it! When we tried to cancel after an hour and a half the site wouldn't let us. After the blizzard in the northeast, we arrived at the rental car counter after the two hour window and they would not honor the car rental rate that we signed up for. The original price is the only thing that was good. The bad is they charged for extra insurance, it is off site from the airport, and the signing and explanation was through a video conference that was hard to hear and was glitching.

They have a $250 hold on my credit card but it wasn’t a hold it was full charge and I am told it could take up to 7 days to get it back. I rented a car for one day. The pick up took an hour which is horrible and the car only had a 1/4 tank of gas. I will never do this again. I will stick to places like hertz.

I did my booking online and they didn't say I needed to show proof of insurance coverage. Had I known i would have had it ready but felt scammed when I went to pick up the rental. The insurance cost the same amount as the rental. I also was dropping off the rental and the customer service was horrible. I asked if they can do something for the gas that I filled for full tank when I was given with a quarter tank and the response could have been simply no but the comment was if you want you can take the gas from the tank. Car rental agency requires everyone to purchase insurance. I had collision included on my credit card- a waiver from the card company is required. This took me about 45 mins to obtain. For liability insurance- Only a handful of insurance companies are accepted and they’re all US based insurers.. Strange As I’ve never had that issue with other companies in the US coming from Canada. We prepaid for a vehicle, pickup after 12pm- there was no way to change the pickup time when making reservations. Our flight didn't arrive until 5pm but given that we had prepaid for our desired vehicle, it seemed logical they would have one there for us. Upon landing, the main phone number would not provide me a phone number for the specific pickup location, said that they would not refund my money, and that i needed to go to the location to see in any car was available for me, at additional costs to me. Please please please save yourself from a rental hell. Stick with one of the big names at the airport rental place. Not the bus outside of the airport to save a few dollars. We needed a minivan and they were the only ones to have one - so we took a chance and it was the absolute worst. They have no one working so everything took sooooo so long. When I commented on it, the guy at the counter said, “You only paid $83, what do you expect?” Basically it’s a total scam. The first car they brought had bald tires and I had to demand a different car. When dropping it off, there were no signs or people directing, so I unloaded the car and went inside to return the key. The owner told me to go back outside and drive around the corner to the drop off area. I had to repack my bags and then there was a lineup of cars and I missed the shuttle back to the airport. The company is a total scam. There were 4 other groups of people who had come to rent a car and there were none available to rent. I felt like I had no choice but to take the rental in the first place because I was exhausted from a red-eye, cross-country flight and renting the day of at another place would be even more expensive. Do not book with them. It’s not $4/day. When I booked it said $40 total and I got there and it ended up being $140. They scam you and make you purchase extra property damage insurance because that’s their business model. Most people only have property damage up to 100k and they require 300k and make you pay for it when you get there (which is 2 shuttles away from the airport). It’s very misleading and most of the bigger rental places only ask for collision insurance so I would have just gone there if I had known the actual cost.
We never got the car but paid in advance. We demand a full refund. The rep was extremely rude. Never, NEVER rent a car here under ANY circumstances. I bought a new car 2 weeks ago and through some snafu at Allstate Insurance, the app didn’t show collision insurance. (on a $27K financed car) I immediately called Allstate and had them fix the snafu. The rude rep at addcar told me I needed it to show I’d had the insurance for 90 days. I ONLY OWNED THE CAR FOR TWO WEEKS! We had no car for our vacation, (hello Uber) and we lost all the money we prepaid to Kayak.

This is essentially a bait and switch scam. They advertise a low price but when you get to the desk they will say that they have given your car away and you must pay an upgrade fee 4-5x the original price in order to get a new car. We saw them do this to other people while we were waiting. Even though they charge your credit card for the full rental period when you book, they will only hold your car for a single hour. Beyond the fact that you have already paid for the full rental period and they should therefore hold the car for the full period, when coming from an airport where transit times are unpredictable, this is completely unrealistic. Because their location is far away from the airport, they are banking on you being unable to return to look for alternatives, especially if it is late. This company is owned by an umbrella company called ColUSA that owns several of these seemingly low-cost rental companies that give the illusion of competition and legitimacy as well as taking the reputation hit when things go wrong. Avoid this company.

Well I booked for $69. I knew it had to be too good to be true. It ended up costing over $325. Quite a big difference. They said they didn’t except my insurance that was $25 per day. There was a daily fuel surcharge but I was responsible for the fuel. I had to pre pay tolls at $20 per day. Plus other odd fees. There was also a $1000 hold on my credit card on top of the charge It is NOT at the airport. It is off site and you have to take 2 buses to get there. The worst part was, there was no one at the business to return the car. The doors were open but there were no employees. 3pm. Thankfully we left 3 hours before our flight. We waited over 30 minutes. No one. We finally got ahold of their Miami office. They had me turn the keys in to a guy out side who work for the car rental next door. I'll never go back to them. All well-known rental car companies typically ask who your insurance company is and you tell them and thats that. In my case Travelllers. This was not enough. They wanted proof, so I called my insurance company and they emailed me my insurance card. Super inconvenient and the guy behind the counter had the personality of a brick, his English was poor, spoke so fast one could not understand what he was saying and he did not really care about making the experience a pleasant one. I wanted to extend and called both numbers on their contract. all 4 times I tried I was placed on hold, and the call was dropped within 5 seconds of being placed on hold, as if it was intentional. So I emailed and asked if an extension was possible at the same rate I had of $15.00 per day. They came back with $50.00 per day and I decided to return the car. I guess that's their prerogative but I chose to return the car and be done with them rather than extend. I'll never use these guys again and the impression I got was that they did not care about future happy clients at all

I came prepared with my insurance declaration page, but they still charged more than the initial rental rate, claiming my deductible was too high. it was terrible, pick up - drop of location was far away from airport , it took 2 hours to take a car, after I receive to airport. also, there was additional mandatory insurance fees, although I bought full covarage from online platform. The building was small and run down with work being done inside so ceiling tiles were down and we had to step over wires. I was forced to buy their insurance. I had to examine my own car and take pictures. The parking lot has no signage so it's extremely easy to pass on a multi lane road.

The car is dirty and full of stains. They also say they will put a 300$ hold but in reality they will charge you 300$ on your credit card which they say will refund after 7 days! So that's already a lie to begin with. There is no hold and you end up dishing out and extra 300$ out of nowhere that you won't get right away once you return the car. Hotels put hold and release the hold after. Advantage charged us an extra 300$ The workers there don't really care. They also tell you to get the toll pass which is around 20$ USD every day because you will need it. They said going to FLL to Miami, you have no choice but to pass to a toll way. Good thing we didn't take it because it's a complete lie. I will avoid and reason learned!!

Be warned this company is a scam. This company is not Advantage they call themselves advantage EZ. We were taken by a shuttle with many other travelers a couple miles off site from the airport In Fort Lauderdale airport. A long line of people was in front of us and they were all visibly upset. They were being charged many times more than the deal they were offered online. I’m talking in one case $500 more and another case $1000 more. Many of these people had are already given this company their credit cards and when they change their mind hearing the prices, they were not given their deposits back. It’s just a horrible experience and a horrible that a company would do this to people that are starting their vacations. I’m contacting the Better Business Bureau and the state Attorney General‘s office of Florida. I hope Kayak sees this and remove them from their list of car rental companies.

Manipulated into having to spend an extra $755 for mandatory insurances and lied to about the sun pass. As we only went through one toll. They claimed there’d be soooo many. Gave use a low battery key fob and did not reimburse us for having to buy our own battery due to the stress of it dying and leaving us stranded. When asked for some customer service and compensation. We were ghosted through their email and then said they couldn’t help us at drop off and that I had to email the people that weren’t responding to us. I wonder if you guys could help since you made the deal so goddamn attractive online to only set us up for the trap we were about to walk into. Terrible experience. Won’t be recommending and will be actively trying to make people avoid their business unless I’m given some customer service at some point :)

They’re unprofessional in their approach. I called to confirm they would have a shuttle and car for me as my plan landed late and just 15 mins before they closed. We arrived to the facility 4 mins after closing and they were gone. The next day they gave my reservation away.

I booked an 8-passenger vehicle with Carwiz well in advance, but when I arrived to pick it up, they told me it wasn’t available. No explanation, no real apology — just a choice between a refund or a 7-passenger van. With 8 people and luggage to transport, we were left with no real option but to take the smaller van. As a result, one of our passengers had to sit on the floor in the middle of the vehicle — not only incredibly uncomfortable, but clearly unsafe and irresponsible. Carwiz put us in a terrible position and didn’t offer any reasonable alternative or compensation beyond a vague apology. This kind of service is completely unacceptable, especially when dealing with transportation and safety. I won’t be booking with Carwiz again, and I suggest others think twice before trusting them with group travel.
