Cons: Had an issue with my original booking but the customer service department of the hotel was able to work it out after a few phone calls. The WiFi wasn't the best. The signal was strong around the resort but connectivity was often poor. When we were able to connect, speeds were acceptable for email and limited web browsing. The whirlpools are quite cool- barely warmer than the pool itself.

Cons: Lack of entertainment. Food could use some improvement.

Cons: Like all resorts in Playa Del Carmen, they are struggling with the seaweed coming in on the beach. It's a never-ending battle. Given the value for what we paid, I don't have any suggestions.

Cons: La Palapa del Sol's main food is buffet. We are not buffet people. Many of the better items on their full service menu cost extra for the All Inclusive people.

Cons: Not enough bikes around.

Cons: My husband and I were given a room with two double beds (not even queen size). When we requested a king bed, we were told none were available for the duration of our stay. However, later that day our two single friends arrived (who had booked through a different online site) and they were each given rooms with a single king bed. Also, one night we were without water in our room (sink/toilet/shower) from about midnight until 4:30a due to some renovation work and we were not alerted ahead of time (found out when trying to flush the toilet).

Cons: No exterior bathroom door. Just a glass partition separating toilet/shower from sink area. No full length mirror. Just the mirror in the bathroom over the sink, with poor lighting. Needs more chairs by pool areas.

Cons: Pillows were horribly uncomfortable really almost comically bad pillows -- mak ing decent sleep impossible. My wake up call came an hour and a half early at 2 am! No hot water for shower. Ceiling super thin heard every footstep of upstairs neighbor. No view from room. Service was not great. Drinks weren't good and food was just okay.

Cons: The rooms were musty smelling. By the end of the trip, everyone had runny noses from what was most likey mold causing the musty smell. Service was terrible, I understand nothing happens quickly in foreign countries, but they were not helpful and didn't care, unlike other all inclusive I've been to in Mexico. The AC in one room did not work, they didn't not want to move the people in that room to a new room with working AC and instead said "Oh, it's working, you have to wait until the sun goes down for it to cool off." Really? No beach side drink orders, you have to go to the bar yourself. Food left a lot to be desired. The Mexican restaurant did not have AC and when we requested to be moved closer to the patio to feel the breeze, we were told no. There were only three other parties in the entire restaurant! I would not recommend this resort.

Cons: access to the beach you could improve

Cons: Standard rooms are closets food was not impressive and repetitive low shelf alcohol for the price we had a lot better

Cons: music at the bar was loud, no area for latino or any kind of dancing, more attention to taking guests into town when guest do not know anything about the place

Cons: Strongly do not recommend this resort. I booked the Privilege package and nothing about this trip has been privileged. 1. I booked a Privilege rooftop room. Upon arrival to the resort they took us to a room that was not ours. It was half the size and in the middle floor facing the dumpster. 2. The resort lost our baggage 3. Check in was at 3pm. At 3:01 pm we attempted to make reservations at various restaurants on the resort and were unable to due to overbooking. 4. We have seen our assigned butler one time 5. There was a wine tasting event we were interested in, we were unable to go because it was booked. 6. The “Privilege” amenities are crowded by others who did not pay for the privilege package, wait at bars behind them, they take up chairs at the Privilege pool and beach. 7. At 9am we went to the beach to reserve a spot we wanted on the Privilege area of the beach, all were taken. 8. When you order top shelf drinks, some of the bar tenders roll their eyes at you and make you feel like you are asking too much. 9. There is one waiter poolside and beachside to take orders, so if you order a drink you may or may not see it an hour later. 10. After taking a shower, our floor in the entire area has 2 inches or water. We called for service, 2 hours later did not see anyone to help. 11. The current usd to peso in Mexico is 1 usd = 18.79 pesos. The resort told us that the rate on the resort is 1 usd is 15 pesos. This is a 100% honest review of this resort, please look at other options before booking at Ocean Riviera Paradise.
