Fabulous hotel, I would say the best I have ever stayed in. And though it's expensive for Hanoi, you would pay an awful lot more for a hotel of this quality in another country
it takes you back in time - luxurious. they charge $5 USD to use the internet and $1USD to photocopy a page - for a hotel of this standard these should be free.
The stalfs are very helpfull and the room is really clean Lobby too small and is very noisy when there is lots of people in the lobby
Truely excellent colonial hotel. Service and facilities are superb.
We stayed here for a night splurge to end our trip in Vietnam and it was well worth it. Not cheap (certainly by Vietnamese standards) but very, very comfortable. Everything you'd expect from a high-end hotel.
The hotel is advertised as being the oldest and fanciest hotel in Hanoi. We splurged and booked a room for one night with a small child. When we arrived, we were told that we would not have a room in the original hotel but would be given a room in the new addition. We needed to pay an extra 60 dollars to stay in the original section. They should make this policy clear to potential guests. We also requested a rollaway bed and they stuck it in the very tight living room, which was about 5 ft wide. The staff at the pool restaurant got our orders wrong--forgot my sons drink, and brought my husband the wrong beer
Luxury rooms, pleasant bar and swimming pool, good fitness centre and spa, attentive staff, helpful staff
The concept of two hotels in one was wonderful and it was a pleasure to see the ladies in their beautiful Ao Dai traditional dresses. Concierge services were very effecient and the hotel arranged all kinds of transport- rickshaw rides, taxis etc were easily arranged. On my last morning I stopped to eat breakfast at one of the restaurants and ordered pancakes ...and was quite taken aback to see both the poor quality and presentation of a basic breakfast item. The other thing i would like to point out is that a steward named Toh near the pool offered to arrange a car for us to a trip to the nearby villages- he said the hotel was Ok with him doing this service. The driver who drove us to the villages was constantly talking on the cell phone and driving single handedly which made us very uncomfortable. He also didnt know the roads. He was supposed to drop us to the airport the next morning and he didnt show up! I would recommend the hotel discourage their staff from offering such services.
The service was wonderful, our room (in the old wing) was very romantic and comfortable. Food was lovely and the hotel has an excellent location in the French Quarter. Hanoi is small and it's only a 10 minute walk to the Old Quarter as well. The only thing that was a very small disappointment was that they took our towels away for laundry even though they instruct us to hang them up (which we did) to save on washing for environmental reasons.
The hotel decor is attractive; even the new wing feels very traditional. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly.
The bed was very comfy The hotel never received my booking via booking.com and this caused me many problems. The staff helped and contacted yourselves but they had no record of my booking despite me having confirmation from your site. Also the shower continually leaked and this was an issue.
Feeling of french colonialism.
Room was great and the breakfast buffet was wonderful.
Nice rooms, friendly staff End price about 25 percent higher than booking.com offered.
location is fantastic TV in the room is out of date
Rooms, comfort, serivce and location were all great.
The hotel has a central location within walking distance of the shopping areas and major attractions. The pool area was nice and the breakfast buffet was the best we had during our trip to Vietnam. Our booking turned out not to include breakfast so when we checked in we had to upgrade to an executive room to get breakfast. It was nice though that the executive room included afternoon tea, snacks, free internet service etc.
Situated very central in walking distance to old town and to the lake. Very organised hotel with a beautiful garden with restaurant next to the opera. Good place to relax after sightseeing.
Location was good and only a short walk to various sights of interest.
Located on a quiet street, this brand new hotel is less than 8 mins walk from lake, "old" and "French quarters, with Opera round the corner. The rooms have balcony for having your G&T, and there is a nice outdoor service area by the street. Choose this hotel if you don't need a swimming pool (there is so much to see in Hanoi you probably will not find time to use it anyway). I probably would pick this hotel again - cost is 1/2 of nearby Hilton. Travellers from the US would likely find the rooms too small but not an issue for Europeans. absolutely not
Conifer is very centrally located - literally around the corner from the Hanoi Opera house. My room, although street facing, was reasonably quiet. It was modern and comfortable, a good enough copy of a 5-star hotel room. Service was pleasant and helpful. Overall the hotel is well worth the money.
