Pros: 110% satisfied with everything at the hotel. Beautiful, relaxing, clean and amazing service. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location on the Nile was unbeatable. Watching the Balloons rise into the sky over breakfast on the amazing patio/Pool area cannot be beat. We absolutely loved it.
Cons: The room service food was so so. That was it. Everything else was 10/10
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the design is great the no children spa pool is awsome!
Cons: maybe the pool music gets a little loud
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location. The room was really good, and the view from the balcony was lovely. The staff were incredibly helpful. They even took pity on an ailing Brit who had a cold (given to me by my tour guide). They plied me with guava, and honey and lemon drinks. Very considerate.
Cons: Nothing. It was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff went the extra mile for us every time
5.1 Okay
Cons: The room is not worth USD290. Comparable rooms were at USD105
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing, we was allowed to check in at 11am a few hours early as they already had a room ready, everybody who works there is smiling and eager to help you. Also, No pressure for tips. Which is a nice break from the rest of Egypt. All the facilities are great, food is good, both from the buffet and the restaurant outside by the pool. Would 100% stay here again.
Cons: Nothing. Price can always be cheaper, but you pay good money and get a great service :)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Competent and friendly staff, comfortable bed, nice outdoor pool/shisha area
Cons: Average breakfast, expensive drinks menu
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was just amazing.. the views of the river, the staff . Can’t say anything negative about the place. It was superb
Cons: Really nothing I’d have to be real picky to come up with one . But why should I, I loved the place
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great, the position, the food, the spa, the service
Cons: Basically nothing ... maybe just The rooms are a bit small but very stylish and clean!

Pros: The breakfast was lovely very nice, fantastic location.
Cons: nothing, everything was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner and his family quickly make you feel at home. The room was nice and clean. Bed and facilities are very comfortable. Food in the restaurant is amazing, delicious and fresh. Sayed helped me to book tours to get to know the most important and beautiful things in Luxor at a good rate! This hotel is overall great, had a great experience and would stay here again! If you’re going to Luxor I would definitely recommend this place. Staff is very helpful and nice.
Cons: .
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean rooms, and quite spacious. Loved the location. Excellent WiFi.
Cons: If you book, and the owner wants payment in US dollars, then bring US dollars with you. The exchange rate he uses is significantly NOT in your favour. Don’t just pay what he says it is. For two nights he was wanting an extra £10 more than we should have been paying. I used currency converter to show him his conversion was incorrect. Next time I will just take dollars.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner of the place, Sayed, and his staff had many attentions for us. Sayed helped us organizing our transfer, took us by car to the nearby sites (under 40 degrees!) and provided good advices for the balloons, sites to visit... The room was spacious and clean (and made every day), bathroom with high water pressure in the shower (not common in Egypt!) The breakfast and dinner were very good, and served in the restaurant of the hotel. Wifi is pretty good too.
Cons: Nothing... As it was very hot (too hot for me I guess), I would have enjoyed a swimming pool for 1 hour!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the location, they are close to all the temples. his collaborators are very attentive, without leaving one out, and the owner of the hotel that was always available to give us an excellent service and that the stay was like being at home. Every space clean a feeling peacefully.
Cons: Everything was excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Train and Plane Tickets for transport to other cities in Egypt were arranged through the hotel and hand delivered to me. Tours, Activities, Driver and Guide were arranged through hotel, and extremely convenient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Like the owner said we were not just clients but guests! Mister Sayed could arrange anything we needed : transportation, valuta change, bike rental, visits,... His hotel is very comfortable, clean and pleasant, the breakfast is wonderful and let you have a wunderful sightseeing without starving, and the diner is perfect. The place is very pleasant at the west of the west bank : peace, green and incredible sites within a bike distance
Cons: We missed a roof terrasse for our breakfast but ... it is in construction. So next time we come to Luxor we will enjoy it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing and friendly staff. Mr. Sayed is the perfect host and made sure that our stay was comfortable. The rooms are very clean and serviced daily. The chef prepares delicious and fresh food as per your choice. The property is in a great location, travelling to the necropolis in the West Bank was so easy for us. The rooftop offers amazing night sky and a great view. Would surely recommend.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room is so spacious and bathroom is clean. They changed the toiletries and towel everyday. The owner is so helpful for arranging the taxi to airport. He took us personally to the village and shops in particular. We bought some great authentic spices. He was so helpful to arrange the hot air balloon, but because of our tight schedule, we couldnt make it. We were only guests at that time, so we couldnt explore the facilities fully.
Cons: The hotel is in west bank and the west bank attractions are so close and easily accessible. Our own guide (booked by ourself through third party) tour started from west bank and finished in east bank. The taxi guy was not interested to return us back in west bank. The breakfast is average, only bread, jam, cheese and honey. May be because of we two only stayed in the hotel at that time. After stayed inside cities (Cairo and Aswan) this west bank looks so deserted.
Nile Compound Hotel - Luxor - Building

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free valet parking is available onsite.
4.0 Okay
Pros: It is away from the crowded city and peaceful property. The owners are very nice people.
Cons: The shower was not working throughout our stay. The water clogged in the bathroom and overflowed. I had to clean it every time. It was extremely cold and none of the AC worked. Even after we complaining no one fixed it. One of the drivers who was assigned to us started getting very aggressive and we had to stop him from the 3 day, all this happened even after we paid him 200 pounds tip and lunch with us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Nile Compound. Choosing a guest house with a garden and a pool in a village was a great choice. Room and bathroom were very spacious on the ground floor. Breakfast was amazing and the staff was very nice. We also enjoyed a stroll in the village, people are very friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location on the West Bank of Luxor, surrounded by green fields of Nile, with a fantastic view from the rooftop terrace on the Nile river! You will be woken up by the birds in the morning and have a tasty breakfast at the pool! We prolonged our stay here because it was so relaxing. The water in the pool is constantly filtered and there a lot of sunbeds to relax. The staff is very discrete and polite. We also asked for late check out which we got for free and we really appreciate it. The water in shower is really hot, the room is super clean, fresh towels provided and WiFi is working perfectly in the room. In a nutshell, a small paradise outside of the crowded city center. Ideal for nature lovers!
Cons: If you don’t mind getting on the other bank of the river by a cheap (5 EGP) and fast (5 min) ferry and taking a short tuktuk or taxi ride (10-20 EGP) to get to the hotel in order to enjoy this splendid scenery, listen to the birds, watching the Nile river from the rooftop terrace - it is the best accomodation you could dream of!
7.9 Good
Pros: Great grounds and staff was very friendly.
Cons: Cold in the rooms and they were surprised when we asked for more blankets. It was a little hard to find. You need a car to get there.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owner, nice room, idyllic location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and owners are wonderful. The rooms were well thought out and built with love. Great water pressure and hot water. Beautiful gardens with direct access to the Nile. Well maintained pool and roof Terrace. Great breakfast and coffee all fresh to order. Rooms have small and large kitchens. On suite options, indirect lighting and beautiful natural lighting and comfortable bed dress. Walk past Luxor temple down to the small river boats. Pay 30 Egyptian pound to cross the river in a private boat. Get the captains what’s app number and have a captain for your stay. Hire a Tuk tuk for another 30 or taxi for 40-50 to the resort. Or call the hotel for a pick up from the river. Take bikes around the Nile, ride a horse to the desert, or hire a private car for 200-300 pound for two-three areas at the tombs. Valley of the kings tomb 2,7,11 are beautiful. Xoxo
Cons: It’s remote so WiFi is expected to be sketchy but they do have multiple routers. It’s not their fault. They have routers and signal repeaters around the property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is great with loads of food.
Cons: The location is a bit far from the ferry. We have to hire a taxi to go to the ferry dock every time we leave the guesthouse. But it also makes the guesthouse very quiet and chill.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, swimmingpool, very nice place.
Cons: Staff doesn't talk english. Wifi doesn't work
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel! Amazing facilities and friendly hosts. It isn't located centrally, so it's a short taxi ride away.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Interesting decoration, very helpful staff, good view from the terrace.
Cons: Nothing.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Only the staff and good breakfast on rooftop worst location located in a village no means of transport, depending on the staff to call one of their cab to get you to East Bank where all the activity is at. Never book at West Bank. Never
Cons: Secluded located in a village with no means of transportation. Always at the mercy of the staff to call a cab if available.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: - Verry verry helpful and accomodating owner and personnel. - Fair prices and and no egyptian bargaining... that's the best because prices are fair ! - The owner will help you in organising everything at fair prices. (Lower if you bargain it at your own somewhere else) I hope the owner will keep it like this. - Breakfast is home made and does not take the whole morning (I had other expericences) - Quiet
Cons: - It's not a luxury hotel but has everything yoiu need and is mainained with love. (in fact I shall put this in the Good review) - Rooms get dusty quite fast. But its OK as you are in Egypt in a dusty region. - It was too cold at the restaurant terrace in winter - Furnitures are a bit old but OK. - I fear that the airconditioning will be noisy in summer but we coudn't test it as it was winter.
7.0 Good
Pros: The bed is big and comfortable. The breakfast was nice, there are many local dishes offered. The owner was helpful?!
Cons: The location is difficult to find, also get ready to walk on muddy roads. It is freezing cold at night if you visit Luxor in winter, remember to ask reception for extra blankets. The transportation to the west bank (Valley of the Kings) was 300LE for me, but somehow it was 30USD for my friend, so make sure you speak to the right person or compare with others.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is very good. The room is comfortable and clean. Good for money.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: My husband I really enjoyed our stay at Cleopatra Hotel! We originally planned to stay two nights but ended up staying five. The staff there (Mahmoud, Mohamed, Wyeal) were the best. They took great care of us, made us feel right at home, and always made us laugh. Make sure you remember to tip these guys because they work hard for guests! We also enjoyed their locations being on the more quiet West Bank away from the hustle of the East bank. Other things we liked: Our bed was comfortable and the room was large. We ordered Egyptian breakfast and Turkish coffee for breakfast on their roof each day. They were never pushy about their tours and very helpful with information. We ended up going by ourselves to Luxor and Karnak by using the public ferry (5 EGP each way) but I’m sure if you went with a guide from them it would be very smooth and you wouldn’t get hassled very much! We also took the advice of another reviewer and rode bikes (50 EGP each) to visit the Temple of Hatshepsut which took about 40 minutes; you can make a nice day out of it if you go early. Definitely book a sunrise hot air balloon ride! It was truly magical and one of our favorite things we did. Thanks for a great stay!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good for the budget. Nasser and all the staff were always ready to help.
Cons: All was fine
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I would definitely recommend Cleopatra Hostel to anyone who wants to enjoy of the amazing village of Luxor while staying in a relaxing and beautiful area away from the crowded downtown streets. The facilities and the service are outstanding and all the staff members were really reactive proposing and finding different activities to make my stay in Luxor much more productive and memorable.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nasser and his staff, particularly Mohammed were just fantastic. Really great people who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We spent 6 nights with them and enjoyed every day. The breakfast was FANTASTIC and full. Best one we had in Egypt: falafel, fuul, omlete, eggplant, local bread, tomatos and cheese, fresh juice, and fruit.
Cons: Our ONLY complaint was that wifi was not really working - we think this has something to do with the plan the hotel is on as the wifi in other establishments in the area worked really well. This wouldn't have been too much of a trouble but we were there over Christmas and couldn't really connect with anyone back home. Other than that, everything was great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the hospitality the people, the way of talking everything we want the give it to you.
Cons: Nothing I like everything.

Pros: Nice and big hotel, the room was clean and big and the staff was nice and helpful. For the breakfast you have to pay extra, but was very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great customer service. The staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Unfortunately, i fell sick while i was there and Hassan regularly checked up on me to see if i needed anything and brought me fruit and water without even asking. Hotel was also very clean and the common areas are well presented.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Literally??? EVERYTHING! Very quiet (I only occasionally heard the camels growl hehehe) Extremely good internet connection Very clean and cosy/warm Rather large and tasty breakfast Everything’s close by :) The ferry boat to the other side of the river leaves every 15’-30’ for 5EGP. Don’t freak out with the dark road leading to the hotel. :) The host helped me organise a trip to Dandara... AMAZING!!!
Cons: Nothing really... Maybe just the bathroom floor mat... and wc brush. If you pay by card, there’s a 5% commission...
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is spacy and well equipped. The staff is nice and disponible. The breakfast was good and consequent, they made us breakfast box when we were going on a tour early in the morning. The place is quiet, and it is really good to rest.
Cons: The room was cold in December and even if they give us an extra blanket (which is really nice), a heater would have been nice. The curtains of the shower are really close, so we didn't have much space inside the shower and we were touching the curtains all the time.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, and facilities Mohammed was very accommodating and helpful during our stay. Great location in the west bank
Cons: Winter time rooms are could
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice quiet place on the West bank, just a five minute walk from the ferry. The hotel is beautiful. Every room has a balcony facing an inner courtyard. The room was clean and comfortable, hot water always available, great views from the roof, very friendly service. Can exchange money here if needed. The breakfast was really good, tasty and filling. There is a small pastry/sweets shop around the corner for anyone who needs some convenience store items (like bottled water), or wants to try some Egyptian desserts. Close to the ferry for Luxor Temple. Karnak Temple is a 25minute walk just down from Luxor Temple. From the hotel one can walk to the Colossi of Memnon, about 25min down the road. It goes through a small town and lots of beautiful farmland.
Cons: Everything was good. The internet didn't work a few times, but it always got back on track after awhile. There's a lot to see and do in Luxor, so I didn't spend too much time online anyway.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The manager is very helpful. The hotel is clean and quite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast and friendly staff. Close to the ferry to get to the east side of Luxor with all the restaurants and nightly activities.
Cons: Area surrounding the hotel doesn’t have much. Also the shower barely had hot water and the water even stopped running in the middle of my shower.

Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very Clean, Quality food, Staff very polite and helpful, large rooms and nice Nile view
Cons: In January, during cold season, was windy, to be in the middle of Nile,
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, the view on the Nile from the terrace for breakfast is amazing. A good breakfast in the sun and very kind and helpful staff. The rooms were giant, excellent beds, nice bathroom. It is a more quiet place to stay than being in other hotels in the (dusty) citycenter.
Cons: everything was OK!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The view, the location & the hotel spaciousness. The furniture might use some renovation, but not at all bad. Overall cleanliness was very good. Food and variety was good but not great. Oh and the view and location, did I already mention the view and location? It was sublime!
Cons: The staff are not up to the training standard expected of a hotel of its stature. Everything they do is done in a way pushing you for a tip. And no, I'm not confusing that with friendliness. Literally, just asking for salt & pepper over dinner, resulted in them being put on your table with a yellow grin and a "any service, happy holidays", and that spanned over everything, the restaurant, the housekeeping, room service, even the gardeners! The bed was too stiff for my liking but that may be a matter of personal taste. But for me it was rock hard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything really Spacious room and bathroom exceptionally clean Staff super friendly Breakfast was more than delicious
Cons: Nothing the place is heaven on earth
9.4 Excellent
Pros: the place was lovely- clean, manicured. super adorable cats all over the place :) the food was amazing- the buffet breakfast and dinner were great. everyone working there was very kind and considerate.
Cons: two things i did not like at all 1) they spray some kind of toxic fumes every night to kill mosquitoes. it's horrible- when it gets sprayed a huge cloud overtakes the entire place and takes a good 20 minutes to settle. we would go in our room and put the towel on the floor to try to keep it out of our room but it would seep into the cracks. this is horrible and i wish they would not do it 2) the internet connection there was not good at all. we got it sometimes- but it was not reliable enough for anyone who has regular work to do that needs reliable internet.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stylish and friendly and super comfortable with best views ever
7.9 Good
Pros: “Genius” location overlooking the Nile.
Cons: Hotel does not offer a full array of transportation facilities.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything else. Everything worked, great breakfast.
Cons: No wifi in rooms
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Classic hotel with nice facilities and good location. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: WiFi is only available in the lobby (what is this? 2001?) and is very slow. Gym has absurd opening hours (8 am to 6 pm). At that time no one is in the hotel. Also, when I wanted to check out, the staff at the front desk insisted I hadn’t paid for my stay, when in fact, I had paid 100% and a month before at the time of my booking. They charged me again for my room and had to look for the manager (at 4 am when leaving for the airport) in order to explain and show them the receipts proving it was already paid.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness and fresh foods.
Cons: WI FI connection bad.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly staff (except business centre), nice pool, well designed rooms, willing to give us free late checkout
Cons: Lack of free wifi in rooms, need to get and update wifi passwords for free wifi in lobby, grumpy business centre staff, food in all restaurants ok with good choice and quality but not great (it all seemed uninspired and lacked Egyptian choices)
6.8 Good
Pros: Location Value for money Breakfast
Cons: Internet weak and they charge for it Business center cannot handle flash drives No heating in rooms Inadequate electrical outlets
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean Jakuzi in bathroom Good breakfast They upgraded my room from partially on river to totally on the river
Cons: No parking available The reception is always late regarding baggage transfer to and from the room
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was amazing (there is a lot of choice). The same goes for the pool. The room has a good size and the beds are comfortable. Very nice staff. I would recommend having a drink outside, by the pool in the evening.
Cons: We booked a room with a city view but when we got to the room we could hear everything from outside, even people talking. I wouldn't recommend these rooms. We got upgraded to a room with a Nile view which was better, but I would still recommend bringing some earplugs. The rooms have a very old decor. Expect more a 3 star hotel by European standards.
7.4 Good
Pros: Worth the money
Cons: Medicre food

8.0 Excellent
Cons: The noise below the rooms in the court didnt make us sleep comfortably
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location is very nice and nile view was perfect
Cons: First of all the hotel is old and only rooms were redecorated. Dining room and reception were too old with poor decoration for Christmas. Open area has to heaters at night and weather was 10C at night. Secondly, my reservation was for half-board and during checking in we requested to exchange one dinner with one of hotel restaurants dinners specially the THAI. The receptionist assured that this option is available, we made a couple of phone calls with the reception before we went to the THAI restaurant to confirm that we can exchange our open bouffant dinner with dine in the THAI and again the receptionist confirmed we can do that. This night was my birthday and my husband and I wanted to have a special dinner, yet, guess what happened! After we ordered the food, waiter came to us and told us that dinner is supplementary and we have to pay for it. We said we checked with the receptionist and she confirmed that we shouldn't pay. After 5 mins one of the receptionists came over and told us that we had to pay $15 each if we insisted to dine in THA. We were surprised as one of his team who assured TWICE that we can have dinner free of charge. The worst that the receptionist told us that we can pay $12 each as kind of bargaining. We felt offended and said no we won't then he made a call with his manager I guess and guess what! He said last price is $10!!! The problem wasn't the receptionist who stupidly assured wrong info or with the waiter who panicked when he knew that we are replacing the dinner package but in the receptionist who kept bargaining in one of our rights. Actually they ruined our night with this offensive behaviour. We went to the main restaurant to have our dinner and food was really undelicious. they were serving ducks and Pecata and both were terrible.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good view from balcony but spoilt by the noise and smell from the kitchen below.
Cons: The info on the room suggested it would be centrally heated but it was not. At night it becomes very cold so the hotel provided a portable electric heater, very primitive for recently refurbished 5 star hotel I also requested a high up room but my balcony on the first floor overlooked the outdoor catering area and was noisy and smelly, the cooks shouting at each other was very annoying. The buffet food was generally cold and there were no plate warmers.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Clean - good value -Helpful stuff - thanks
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location Nice people / staff Great Libian restaurant inside Nice rooms
Cons: WiFi could be a little better
7.5 Good
Pros: We had a front nile view room , the view was really nice.
Cons: The room was very old not like the photo of the room we selected when we booked the hotel
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean hotel, spacious room, good restaurant, friendly staff and location in front of Nile
Cons: Only internet limited to one device and was slow

Cons: The things that should have been hot were cold at breakfast like eggs and omelets. The coffee was not ready. No coffee or tea packets in the room. Had to unplug some things to plug others in. Wanted to charge 5% fee to use credit card to pay and then didn't have change to pay in cash.

Pros: Very nice and quiet place. All the staff is very friendly. The swimming pool is nice with hot water. Food is good but not the best. Breakfast start early (6am). Less than 10 min walk to the ferry station, 5 EGP, to cross the Nil to Luxor temple.
Cons: The bed are not very comfortable, you can feel the springs inside the mattress. The tap in the bathroom has no mixer, you are splashed.

Pros: I really enjoyed my stay at El Gezira Garden Hotel. I arrived after an overnight cruise from Aswan. It’s a simple 2 minute river crossing to the west bank - 15 or 20 Egyptian Pounds to charter a boat, or 5 pounds by ferry (less for locals but I was never offered any change). The west bank is far quieter and relaxed than the other side. Probably more like Luxor of old. The hotel is great - nice pool, and a fantastic roof terrace with sun loungers (it’s quite shaded around the pool). It has a style of its own - quite quirky, having clearly evolved and grown over time. There’s a number of different restaurant areas. To be honest I never properly figured out what happened in each and when! Food was good and reasonably priced, and they serve alcohol. There’s a few other restaurants nearby, although I think they seem to cater primarily to visiting tour groups. The owner is a nice guy. For a fair price he arranged a taxi for the day for me when I did the west bank sights (very helpful/friendly driver), and helped me locate a local gym.
Cons: A few things that I think could be improved: - the WiFi is way too complicated! Lots of different network/password combos. And they were forever dropping out. - only one bottle of water when you arrive then you provide your own. Similarly, there’s a kettle but no tea/coffee. - my double bed had a single bed size sheet. - cable TV has hundreds of channels but they all seem to be in Arabic. - I had the set menu on the evening I arrived but the staff turned off the lights and left before I’d finished. I had to wander round looking for someone to fetch my dessert!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are just incredible. We were supposed to stay in a different hotel during our stay in Louxor but decided to stay here longer instead because it's a really lovely hotel. The food is great (breakfast and dinner). The pool is lovely. The location is great. I highly recommend staying here.
Cons: The shower curtain is too short so the floor gets wet when you shower.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice ambience . Close to the Nile on the west bank. Nice place to relax after visting the west bank sights. Friendly and courteous staff, reasonable rates on food and beverages
Cons: Distance from airport is between 45 to 50 min
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service staff very kind. Rooms very lovely, nice decoration. In winter times you get little heating machines. Breakfast was very good! The manager Mohammed very kind, always present to clarify any doubt. Even though we arrived very early in the morning (than check-in time), they let us stay in a room until our room was ready for check-in. Great service orientation! 5 min walk to the ferry, easy way to the east side. We definitely recommend this hotel!
Cons: Previous email communication wasn’t very kind but everything changed when at the hotel. The food from the restaurant was ok, not so much taste. There’s room for improvement, but ok.

Pros: If you are in Luxor, this is a must stay hotel. My family and I were there for 2 nights and 3 days and we loved this place. It is serene and quiet and makes for a relaxing time after trudging through the Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple! The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the ferry port from where you can easily take a ferry to the east bank or enjoy a fellucca ride at sunset. There are multiple restaurants, ATMs and departmental stores around the hotel to make your stay even more convenient. The rooms are clean, big and airy with an attached balcony and a private verandah that looks onto the Valley of the Kings. If you go up to the roof, you will definitely get an instagrammable pic! Although the menu is not extensive, the food is amazing... especially when you can enjoy it sitting in a garden restaurant! Try the Fish Tagine, Dawood Basha, Egg Shakshuka and Egyptian Breakfast. There are a few tortoises and cats to keep you entertained as well :) The staff are incredibly sweet and will go above and beyond to help you without being pushy. They even arranged pick-up and drop services for us to and from the train station (at an extra cost of course, but this will be the case with any hotel). Ahmed & Mohammed were extremely helpful and made we were happy with all the arrangements & facilities The hotel also offers multiple tours and day trips - like hot air balloon ride near the Valley of the Kings. These tours/trips are over and above your stay cost as these are done in association with other companies. If you want to book anything through them, it would be a great idea to let them know in advance! This hotel is extremely well suited for all types of travelers - couples, families, work trips, etc. It is even child friendly. Most definitely recommended !!! Thank you for the warm welcome and super happy stay Amon Hotel !!!
Cons: Nothing
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was standard. We ordered more tea and had to pay extra. So just be aware of this. The garden was beautiful as shown on the website
Cons: We do think that we were over charged for the trip to "the valley of the kings" as this is realy not that far.. We also paid 20 EP for water that costed 5 EP in the small shop in the village

Pros: The service is very good and helpful

Pros: Amon Hotel is definitely the best place to stay in Luxor! The owners are incredibly nice and helpful and will help make your trip unforgettable by helping you plan where to go and when. They organized us a tour to the Valley of the Kings which was perfect and they also organized that we get bikes to ride around town. The location is awesome - it's on the West Bank where it's more quiet and at the same time shops and restaurants as well as the ferry are close by and the temples and tombs are just a bike ride or short car ride away. Apart from that the rooms are cute and very clean, the garden is absolutely wonderful and breakfast is great! We will definitely come back!!

Pros: Never had breakfast and location is great access to ferry. Ahmed drove me for 2 days and he was wonderful.
Cons: I liked everything

Pros: Staff were very accommodating. Helpful, gracious and friendly.
Cons: Food was so so.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ahmed and Mohamed (father and son) helped us with everything we needed. They made us feel at home. They’re building a wonderful new wing in the hotel that will be finished soon. A great example of hard work and dedication. If you want to have a real Egyptian experience Amin is much more recommended than the big international hotels that lack soul.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner of the hotel treated us like we were part of his family. Because of his generosity we were able to watch a funeral procession, attend a wedding party, and have tea at his daughter-in-law‘s house. We truly felt like we were part of the West Bank family in Luxor! He also arrange for us to be able to go swimming at a local 5 star hotel and have dinner at their establishment To sum up we had the trip of a lifetime and enjoyed every minute with our Egyptian family. Shokran Ahmed!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was yoghurt, bananas, tea, nescafe, omelet or eggs. and bread and butter and jam. Having bananas, yoghurt and omelet made a sustaining breakfast. in the delightful garden and friendly waiter, Hassan.
Cons: I would have liked a window to see out. There were two but with mandatory shutters to keep the aircon effective.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful garden, lots of outdoor space including semi-private balcony, terrace, courtyard, large but homely room, decent wifi, lots of hot water. everything kept very clean, good value if you're a couple, family or two friends sharing a room (rooms have a double bed, double bed + single, or two/three single beds). Dinner was a little pricey but very good.
Cons: Breakfasts were disappointing, room was cold although this will be a distinct positive in the summer. location was a little out of the way, but i liked that. double check the exchange rate before paying in egyptian pounds. A little pricey for singles,, but good value for couples / families / friends sharing.

Cons: The room was not very clean. The windowsills, doors and windows were dusty and requires thorough cleaning. The quality of the window locks, handles, door lock, taps and faucets were not good and were quite rickety.

Pros: The best rooftop view of the Luxor Nile! Decent breakfast, and they make vegetarian food upon request. I had a very nice room not overlooking the Nile and it was great and cozy. The staff were exceptionally helpful. You just need to ask in case something is missing.

The opprtunities for the daytrips. We also liked very much that we had the opportunity to eat at the roof restaurant, also with a very beautiful view. The open hours for dinner are great.
Cons: There was no one to help us with the luggage when we left. We had to carry the suitcases from 301 downstairs at night. The staff knew that my friend is dissabeld. And the owner never seem to enjoy his work, he always seemd to have some troubles.

Pros: The room layout in Room 2044 was fantastic. It was so spacious, and the decor was lovely. The pool was big and well kept. The staff were very helpful.
Cons: Two things only. We were in Room 2044. The room itself is absolutely fantastic. The layout is lovely and very spacious, but there is no WIFI, or barely any. We had to keep going outside to get a signal, and by the time we went back in, the signal had been lost. The other thing is that the cleaning staff left our room door open one morning. I could have my laptop, passport, wallet...everything stolen.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff nice Big rooms for family Service very good Staff Aya very welcoming
Cons: Food not as a 5 star hotel buffet. Limited varieties
6.0 Good
Pros: The garden & pool facilities were great; location by the Nile was fantastic; beds were comfortable, and security was discreet but comforting.
Cons: Mold in the bathrooms; overall décor very tired; food was mediocre and very western-based menu - little or no local food and quite bland overall. Staff were friendly but slow. Hotel is further out from Luxor than the information made it seem.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was the best, most up to western standards hotel we stayed at in Egypt.
Cons: We had some issues with water pressure in our room, but overall that was the worst of it.
7.0 Good
Pros: I liked the resort, the pool, sauna and yakkuzzi. The Staff was very friendly and most of them spoke good english. The sunsets at the cafe were very beautiful and the room was clean and big. The beds were comfortable.
Cons: Unfortunantely the walls of the room were very very thin, I - as a person who has a very light sleep - did not sleep very good the whole stay. Especially the doors were not very soundproof and a bit old. You could hear EVERYTHING the people talked in the next room and EVERYONE who was passing by on the corridor, Also the food could be better - i would like to eat something typical egyptian and not just pizza and pasta. But the staff was really nice.

Cons: Need some renovations for room

Cons: Staff doesn't talk english. Wifi doesn't work

Pros: Worth the money
Cons: Medicre food

Pros: The Nefertiti hotel is right across the Luxor temple. It's very close to Luxor local market. Only a min walk away. Lots of eating and souveniers shopping places nearby. Room size was a bit too small for 3 persons. The bathroom was clean with hot water. Had a good breakfast and dinner menu. Breakfast was included in our hotel price. Dinner was also good. They have a serving area on the top floor with open-air views. You can see Luxor temple from the top of hotel. Horse carriage rides for Luxor town are easily available outside the hotel. Overall a nice stay.

Pros: The room was quite, Mr Ahmed from room service was soo nice, cleaning my room and keeping it neat, he was smiling all the time, and I would like to thank mr Ibrahim mustafa from the reception for his nice and welcoming personality... plus mr Amr and Abdo from security services at the front of the hotel were soo nice and helped me to get around and finding me a taxi to the train station...
Cons: The place is quite old, not so professional The elevator stoped a couple of times when I was inside, u have to call 2 times to get somthing.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Very outdated hotel. That can have its.charm, but here not. Rooms were not ready when arrived. Staff didnt gave answers in questions and remarks. We arranged the help ourselves by administratie servicepeople who were working in the hotel. Very bad beds, to hard or to soft. The carpet in the hallway to our room was very dirty and wasnt vacuumd for a while. One room had a leaking in the bathroom from the ceiling and wall. Toiletpaper was getting wet of it. The breakfast was in comparisson to other hotels of low quality. But the location is great. I hope this hotel is going to manage to delver good service and rooms in the future. I came here because of the good reviews but didnt come near my expectations. Bad management.
Cons: Location and the swimming pool
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This place looks fabulous and possibly best location for hotel in the town. You get superb view from your balcony whether see hot air balloons going up on West side in morning or superbly lit Nile walk ways on East. Staff is very pleasant and ready to help. Spread of breakfast is good with enough Egyptian options too. You need to buy water and even fresh juice if you want. We tried their Bar and some Italian stuff. It was great experience with perfect ambiance with option to sit indoor and outdoor. Its location is unbelievably great. You can stroll leisurely thru Luxor Bazar not very far and it is much more likable that Khan Al Khalili as sellers are not overbearing.
Cons: They should provide some complementary water which is not much of money but an irritant
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location only
Cons: Management’s and customers service ,cleans, facilities and food quality.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: view very nice
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Nile view room was not luxury but quite comfortable with a fabulous view over Nile and over the Valley of the Kings. Very good location, next to Luxor Temple and close to Karnak Temple. Friendly helpful stuff with good English. Nice western restaurant on site. I would have appreciate a bit more light in the room but over all good value for what you pay. I would recommend it.
Cons: Would appreciate more light in the rooms and bottled water.
