use the Florida Travel pass instead of paying for the EZPass, it's way cheaper. Don't let them bully you into extra insurance you don't need. Double check if they add an extra drive to your invoice without clearly explaining the charges.
Verified travelerNov 2024
Get the insurance and toll transponder. Fuel before you drop off. Do not wait until you are close to the airport to get fuel. You’ll find better prices a little bit further.
DanNov 2024
Highly recommend getting sun pass for tolls if you’ll be around Disney as tolls can be $2.50 for just one toll booth and there are several around that area
Verified travelerNov 2024
It's a good idea to get the EZ Pass for the tolls.
RobertSep 2024
If you have a SunPass, make sure you can use it with your rental. I had to drive through all of the toll booths so it wouldn’t trigger the rental cars toll reader.
Verified travelerSep 2024
We ended up walking across the street and rented from Advantage. They were slightly expensive, but worked good in a pinch. I'll stick with Herts or Enterprise next time we rent in Orlando.
AllanNov 2024
Go with one of the better known rental brands. Be prepared for a long wait and be prepared to push back if your insurance or credit card covers the insurance for rental cars.
Verified travelerNov 2024
Florida needs proof of insurance to waive the insurance charge. Make sure you have an insurance card if digital version with you when you are renting there.
Verified travelerSep 2024
Just watch when you pick up that they don’t talk you into extra liability coverage if you’re already covered personally by your own /credit card, etc.
Verified travelerNov 2024
Take the prepaid gas and tolls anytime that you rent a car in Florida. You will be driving way more than you expected.
Verified travelerNov 2024
If you live in Florida and want to rent to drive in Florida go to Enterprise and always read the small letters
Verified travelerSep 2024
I wish that I knew that as a Florida resident I must rent only with a debit card at the airport
AlexNov 2024
Look for companies that provide all prices upfront and clearly stated. Call to confirm final rates prior to travel.
Verified travelerOct 2024
Don’t book the cheapest deal. Also, if you rent an electric car, set up a charging account beforehand.
Verified travelerNov 2024
Insurance rates should have been posted on website, to have an idea about rates.
NickSep 2024
Hertz was great, just hope you get someone nicer at the counter.
Verified travelerAug 2024
My advice if you go to Florida more than once per year is to sign up for your own SunPass and bring it with you or bring your EZ Pass from home because there are a lot of paid roads in Florida. We always use a credit card that covers the car insurance so we don't have to take out extra insurance. And we NEVER rent an Economy - too small! Unless you plan to stay in Disney and never leave, you will definitely need a rental in Orlando; it's huge and spread out
Verified travelerAug 2024
The best and affordable rental car company is FOX. They have many vehicles to choose from at a fraction of the cost. I particularly like renting trucks for the space and comfort. Just be sure to return on full fuel to avoid additional charges.
Verified travelerJul 2024
Alamo has great service and pricing and is at the airport! No shuttle required!
BAug 2024
Rented a new BMW . Car was almost brand new and beautifully clean
ElizabethAug 2024
Book ahead of time if possible. Customer service was good!
Verified travelerAug 2024
Easy pick up and drop off.
Verified travelerAug 2024
You don't need the toll pass, there is a cash lane and they do give change. It may be $1 more for cash but unless you're using the toll roads frequently, just pay cash.
ChristinaJun 2024
Just reminder, USave is outside of airport. Must take a shuttle. We made the mistake of not reading that and walked most of terminal before looking up details.
Verified travelerJul 2024
Do it with time and be flexible when picking up, more than likely there will be a line since Orlando is a high tourist city.
AaronJul 2024
Expect a shortage of cars and long lines in Orlando. Consider Turo due to one price not changing and guarantee a car
Verified travelerJun 2024
Go with the transponder if you are planning on doing quite a bit of driving.
Verified travelerJul 2024
Get the toll pass or else you will have to pay tons of toll fees
Verified travelerJul 2024
Do it with time and be flexible at pick up, Orlando is always busy.
Verified travelerJun 2024
Stick with a major brand you can pick up on-site at the airport.
Verified travelerAug 2024
On-site rentals are much more convenient. Be careful of the location
Verified travelerMay 2024
Choose the "all tolls included ' $14.95. i rented only two days and it was worth it
Verified travelerMar 2024
It’s easier to get the toll system pass.
Verified travelerMay 2024
Bring your auto insurance policy ID so that you don't have to buy additional coverage. They seem inflexible on adjusting any price after the fact, so make sure you confirm the rates in the rental agreement issued match what you had in your original reservation.
Verified travelerMar 2024
Choose your rental car options carefully. In the future I might use a car share like Turo In the future. I would also consider ordering a visitors toll pass ahead of travels because Orlando has a lot of toll roads.
Verified travelerMar 2024
Traffic is slow with lots of construction, give yourself extra time . Make sure you are getting the car you book , not every spot has all the available vehicles.
Verified travelerMar 2024
Plan extra time just in case. You never know. Last year my checkout took less than 5
