Pros: The overall value was good. Helped by getting insurance from a third party - Alianze. The AVIS representative that I EVENTUALLY got to on pick up and drop off was very efficient.
Cons: The wait to see a representative on both pick up and drop off was extremely long The same representative on both ends of the trip took forever, continually trying to upsell insurance, instilling fear in the rentors. He held up everyone, but fortunately I didn't have to deal with him.
The car was in terrible shape. The air conditioning didn't work. The fan only worked on high speed. The car itself was uncomfortable.

Cons: The total bill was twice what we were quoted. When we dropped the car off in Dublin it was in an empty parking lot and left a key at a desk. Then two days later received a bill for a price we were not quoted for. Over all the car cost over $100 a day for a size basic car. I called customer service to let them know we were charged an amount we didn't agree to and they told me to dispute it to my credit card company.

Car -$8/day - great! Insurance -$42/day - WTF?
Pros: Agents very nice, of course...
Cons: Usurious insurance rates. And NO A/C! Have to rent a "Luxury " car to get ac, and were not told. Got an hour out of Dublin before we figured out there was no a/c. Contrary to popular belief, it actually does get warm in Ireland in August....

Pros: Car was great - ran smoothly, was easy to handle and was efficient on gas.
Cons: Dublin Airport Pickup Location was understaffed. Waited 40 mins for my scheduled pickup to be ready. Avis charged the cost of the rental for insurance - way overpriced.

Beware of Fees
Pros: Clean car
Cons: Charged 30 euro as a "service fee" for allowing me to use my own insutance. Shameful...

Beware of the fine print
Pros: The car had no mechanical problems and the gps worked.
Cons: Avis had a good price at kayak and said the rental counter was at the airport terminal. However, the rental site required a shuttle ride. There was over an hour wait at the counter as the agents worked hard to bully everyone into taking the optional insurance. They were providing misinformation about credit card and personal insurance and then, if you were able to withstand the hard sell and misinformation, they informed us there would be a 30 euro charge to DECLINE the insurance. We had never heard of such a thing but were now far from the airport and had few options. Furthermore upon declining the insurance they required a 5000 euro charge hold on my credit card in order to complete the rental agreement. When we finally got to the car it smelled of marijuana. All in all a very unpleasant, deceptive experience reeking of extortion.

Cons: We were not told that our insurance would not cover like it does in the USA so we were charged an exorbitant amount for insurance and we were also told if we showed our Costco card our spouse could drive the car with no extra charge and they refused that too- it took us over an hour to pick our car up so it was very frustrating experience

Cons: On the website you get fooled by low prices saying your rental is only 7-10 bucks a day. Then when you pick your car up they tell you about the manadatory insurance you have to pay. I picked the lowest coverage and it was 750 for 10 days on top off what I already paid for the car. So I ended up paying almost 1000 dollars to rent a car for 10 days. What a joke.
Pros: Employees were friendly enough and the car was in good condition. Return was smooth.
The rental was serviced by Thrifty in a shared facility with Hertz a short bus ride from the terminals. (Although hertz had separate employees, they had the same problems with pickup as far as I could tell)
Cons: It took well over an hour to pickup the car, really ridiculous, and we were the second in line when we arrived. It was much worse for others.
Also I got a nail in the tire and they were no help at all, I had to pay for the repair myself because I didn't have the extra "tire cover." (Luckily tire repairs are cheap in Ireland).
The insurance is also a scam in Ireland (this is common to all agencies I could tell), as most credit cards don't cover Ireland, but Chase cards seem to (call to ask). Thrifty accepted this for a 30 euro administrative fee (which is disclosed in the terms).
They were also remarkably nitpicky about the condition of the car, taking photos at checkout and documenting even the slightest scratches or dents.
20 Aug 2016
Cons: The people who work in Dublin are a bunch off crooks all the want is the people who rent buy extra insurance which I believe I did not need plus there were all types of extra fees

Pros: Good mileage with diesel. Drop off was more efficient
Cons: We had to wait an hour for the car. Very slow. Also didn't like the the insurance deductible fee added to the credit card fo 1600.00 euros. Never had that occur in any country that we rented a car. Rented in Scotlad the week prior and the process was straight forward.

Car was good
Pros: They brought the car to the airport for us so we didn't have to go to the yard.
Cons: We paid for a small baby car seat and they had a enfant car seat. We asked for help putting it in and they would not help. One guy said they didn't have insurance to help. The seat was too big and another guy who tried to help suggested we go across to another terminal and rent a baby seat. So I have to walk across the airport after 16 hrs of travel to try and rent another car seat after I had already paid for one..
Very bad service on that end . If they don't have the seats they should not have it available to rent ..
How do I get my money back I paid for the seat???

Cons: I plan on contesting my credit card charge. I was quoted a price of E193.34. I ended up being charged E308.30 with an additional charge of E66.96 for an additional driver. There was no explanation of where the other E44 came from. Additionally there was no prior mention that the vehicle was a diesel nor that a E5,436 security charge would be applied to my credit card.

GreAt rental experience
Pros: The car was just what we needed. No line at pickup. Very friendly help. Easy drop off.
Cons: The true cost of renting a car in Ireland is disguised in the insurance fee.
17 Oct 2016
Pros: It was so awful it was actually humorous.
Cons: The rear wiper was missing, drivers side door didn't lock, passenger side door couldn't be opened front the outside. Overall an awful car. Lots of hidden fees added on as well, declining insurance results in a 5,000 euro hold on your card which would max most people's cards out on the start of a trip.
22 Oct 2016
Cons: I printed out our car and it didn't have a confirmation number on it they wouldn't accept it and doubled price.
Pros: Car ran well. People I dealt with were friendly and helpful.
Cons: They did not have the car I had reserved nor could I change the reservation through them. Would have to go through Kayak. the car I got was fine but larger and more expensive then I had planned. The GPS software took us on two very wrong detours.

Rip off alert
Cons: This company is an insurance ripoff. Insisted on full coverage, left me and my family in a lurch as we were stuck at a remote location offsite from the airport. Would not accept my credit card insurance policies, I had 3 different cards, all with renters coverage. Tried to use my personal renter policy which covers rentals in Ireland and they refused. Hard sell on everything. Instead of the $80 for the week, ended up having to dish out $540. Avoid at all costs. Don't fall for their bait and switch. Kayak should be ashamed of doing business with this company.

Pros: Nice car with free sat Mac (Renault Clio)
Cons: Taxes, insurance and airport fee meant a 50eur rental turned into a 250eur rental.

Costly car rental for what you got!
Pros: The car was nice and met our needs for the week our so we had it. But it would have been better if when rented the Eurocar attendant had explained the car operations features.
Cons: The hustle I got to take an upgraded car compared to what I originally booked. The fact there was nobody available to explain the car operating chaicteristic for basic things like how to adjust miors, cruise controles, syncing your phone to to the car, where the fuel fill lid button was located, seat adjustments,, the dashboard characteristics and other features I had to figure out on my own. It would have been a much better experience if the rental car agent or representative had been willing to explain the car features before I departed with the car.
10 Oct 2016
Pros: Staff was delightful. Got a free upgrade. Loved it.
Cons: The price ended up being many, many times over what was quoted due to the Irish insurance. Would have been good to know in advance so I could compare to other companies more accurately.
15 Oct 2016
Cons: Desk person didn't want my custom and recommended that I go next door to his competitors to deal with them. So did, that you budget car rental!
20 Oct 2016
Already completed eurocar survey
Cons: No complaints
21 Oct 2016
Pros: Whole experience was awful
Cons: Booked an automatic in Dublin Airport. The quote I was given was €487 for two weeks including the CDW. When I arrived it was €780, that was the first problem. I called to confirm this price three times. Next I waited 30 min for them to find an automatic car. Why did it take so long when I had reserved it a month ago? When I was given the keys we went to put our cases in the trunk. It could not hold two cases without pushing the rear seats forward, causing them to not lock into place. I could not have a child sitting in the back without a seat that was functioning properly. When I went back in to notify europcar, they said to pay €160 more for a different class. I informed them that I did not even book the smallest car and it's not my problem they don't have any automatics in their fleet. After going back and forth for an hour, I was informed they would refund me for the CDW insurance but that I would lose the base price of the rental daily. Hmm I haven't even started the car yet, but you want to charge me for 14days of a car I haven't even driven yet? I was asked if I would like to talk to the manager and after saying yes and waiting, he never showed and I was given a full refund after wasting 1.5hrs. I went next door to Budget and explained what had happened and they matched Europcars price of €780 and provided me with a beautiful car with plenty of space for our luggage.
Pros: The Shuttle driver was great. Real hard worker.
Cons: Way too long a wait to get service at the pick up counter. About 30 min! They had the gas at full when it was only 3/4.
18 Jul 2016
drop off smooth
Pros: good shuttle service
Cons: unclear what to do once you dropped your car off. No one was around. I asked someone and they told me to go to the office, and the office told me I had to go back outside to talk to someone and have them look over the car first.
24 Aug 2016
Cons: No air conditioning. Sluggish rngine
26 Aug 2016
Cons: Waited a long time to get from airport to car park as they only have one van for each terminal at the Dublin airport
19 Sep 2016
Pros: Straightforward process to arrange, pick up, and return car. Excellent value.
Cons: 20 Euro fee to decline collision coverage (which was provided by my credit card) seemed a bit ridiculous.
Pros: Needed to wait more than half An hour But staff was really friendly. Great value for money. Close to the luas so perfect for picking up the Car.
1 Sep 2016
Pros: Fast pickup and dropoff, and the car was spotless and low mileage.
16 Oct 2016
Staff Very Customer Service Oriented
Pros: The staff was responsive to my needs and very helpful. Make sure you consider insurance and GPS needs prior to arriving. You should get both if you don't have adequate coverage from your personal insurance company...or have a GPS option. Also, do not get a manual shift. It's challenging enough to drive with an automatic. It is preferred to get a diesel vehicle as 70% of the cars in Ireland are diesel. The roads are narrow...get a "small" car!! Over all it was a positive experience and I will use Enterprise again when in Dublin.
Cons: Transfer from the airport to the car lot is confusing. Make sure to clarify how to get transported to the car lot.
Pros: the car was clean, along with the facilities where we picked up and dropped off
Cons: i was quoted roughly 50.00 to rent the car, when we got to the facility, the woman gave us an entirely different price, said she had to completely change our reservation because of kayak and they ay it was booked and that there was no way she would let us leave the lot without buying the insurance, because we would be liable for the 27,000 dollar car.since she said she wouldn't let us leave the lot without paying the insurance we ultimately had to and pay a lot that we didn't expect to pay. we are very disappointed since i love booking through kayak but i guess i can't do it internationally. we lost out on a lot of money we could have used.
25 Oct 2016
Pros: Easy pick-up, great rate. Clean, comfortable vehicle. Staff generally friendly. Convenient shuttle to and from off-airport rental center.
Cons: Difficult to find gas for fill-up near the return location. A bit of a wait to return and have deposit refunded. Some pressure to add insurance during pick-up.
Cons: I expected a few additional fees on my €28-for-3day rental car, but by the time I got out of the office and on the road I was €190 lighter for "mandatory fees". I've learned my lesson, only booking major brands in the future (avis, hertz, sixt, etc). Also had booking issues as "Ace" was merely a broker and the actual renter was easirent and was not located at the normal rental facility nor was the shuttle conducted from a marked location. I also did not recieve a confirmation email and had to search the website to find any of this information.
