The lady at the front counter at pick up was horrible. She lied to me several times and tried to force me to upgrade cars, get a toll pass, and add insurance. I told her I did not need any of those things. She got very upset that I would not upgrade and slammed to contract down on the counter. She also told me I had to have a toll pass as the Florida Keys have tolls all through them. I told her they do not have any tolls as I have been down there many of times. She told me I was wrong and she will make sure I get find each day I drive without a toll pass. She was horrible and absolutely deserves to lose her job. I don't like how Budget tries to sell or add "basic" or "premium" insurance to plans even after customers try to pick up cars. The reality is that many people's personal car insurance covers them and will likely be involved even if someone purchases your supplemental plans. Budget is misleading customers who don't know that they can decline more easily than they can and still be adequately covered.Reviewed 12 Mar 2025

When booking the reservation, the rep on the phone said that the airport location had both covered bed and non covered bed pickup trucks. I made sure the rep put the notation on the booking that I needed a covered pickup truck. The budget employee at the counter said that none of their pickup trucks were covered. I had to pay extra for an SUV due to the misinformation. Not thrilled with the overall process.Reviewed 26 Aug 2024

Customer service was the worst. Blew a tire in a grand wangoneer no spare so sat for three hours on the highway til i paid a guy for a used tire. took another day to get a replacement car. who rents a truck with no spare ? Budget was under resourced for the amount of reservations they accepted. We waited in line for 30 minutes to check in, then waited another 30 minutes to recieve a car because they had no inventory. I finally accepted a full size Dodge Ram quad cab as my rental car to drive my family to the beach. It was not ideal. I didn't want to wait any longer for my actual rental to be available. They simply oversold their supply. Not a great business strategy. I feel bad for the front line workers that had to deal with that many unhappy vacationers. We were all just sitting around baggage claim staring at each other, waiting for our name to be called in the "Do I Get A Car?" lottery.Reviewed 11 Jun 2024

They refused to rent us a car, despite literally confirming by calling Budget earlier in the day, simply because we "made the reservation the same day of the pick up." They had keys for us. Nobody in line behind us. Has taken all our info. But saw it was same day reservation and refused. We walked over the enterprise and rented with them on the spot no issues for the same price. Didn't like a single thing. Was given an electric car was supposed to have a gas car was the biggest headache I've ever seen. Recieved the car with 20%battery what a joke.Reviewed 29 Feb 2024

The van we rented was dirty at pick up - also had a lot of nicks and dents - we told the rep I called he said he knew but we didn’t do a walk around together - told him about it being dirty said u should have called me but I had to go pick up my daughter- he didn’t even say we will give you 19 percent off - or a discount on future rentals or any kind of regret -Reviewed 18 Feb 2024
