Great location, New hotel, very clean, kind & helpfull staff.
Spotless hotel. Towels changed everyday during the stay.Location is a must! In the heart of Las Ramblas. Short walking distance from the Plaza Catalunya, metro station, El Corte Ingles and the supermarket. Check in was allowed before 1pm. Room on the 4th floor very nice and quiet. No noise heard from the street! The room as small but enough for a short break trip. Member of the front desk staff who checked us in not that "smilly" but Spanish people are like this. No Shampoo/Conditioner offered.Soap enough for only one single shower. We had to get a shower cream/shampoo ourselves.Location very good as I said but be careful because I noticed some weirdos checking us out like waiting for an opportunity to take their chance. Avoid the restaurantes sorrounding the hotel area. Too dear and poor quality of food offered!
staff was knowledgeable--exceedingly helpful when we had airline problems--and the hotel was spotless and fabulously located
Friendly and attentive welcome and during our stay. The location was excellent, the rooms lovely----a very pleasant stay.
Hesperia Ramblas is a modern budget hotel in NH Hotels' 3 star Hesperia chain. It is located in a street adjacent to the Liceu Metro stop on the Ramblas and very well placed. Rooms are basic and very comfortable with good heating in the cold November nights. The bathroom is good and spacious with a lovely hot bath. Breakfast buffet is good and not too complicated. It is well worth the extra for convenience but there are also many cafes nearby offering breakfast too.
Perfect family room; 2 adjacent rooms with interconnecting hall. Location near subway station.
The central location and the friendly staff No bar facilities
great location next to ramblas and liceu metro station
Clean,Modern, Friendly, quiet, close to La Rambla Tiny room,Air Conditioning not working,Heated bathroom mirror constantly on thus raising room temperature
Clean, good breakfast, central for city. Staff helpful
nothing at tall. very expensive for a 3 star and not enough any where including reception area to swing a cat
I liked that it was a small hotel, so very quick access to your room. It was clean. The bathroom was very modern. The mat on the bed was good quality. It was near everything. I liked that when we complained about our first room, they quickly fixed us with a better one :) Thanks! There was 2 things I did not like about the hotel: 1- The noise from the street at night was extremely annoying, even until 4 & 5 in the morning. It really affected the quality of my sleep. 2- I wish there were a mirror at the room over the desk, and not just in the bathroom.
Very good location on heart of rambla
great for seeing Barcelona
Hotel is situated in a perfect location. Large and very comfortable bed. Nice size bathroom. Room is rather small but nicely furnished.
Staff was very helpful. They found the answers to all my questions. Very clean. The bed was too hard. I needed extra pillows because my knee need more support due to an injury but the quota of pillows seems to be 4.
Central location Very expensive for the quality. Additionally, staff was uninterested, ungroomed, and generally not welcoming.
Staff are friendly and etc, but over priced vs what you get; a 4 star hotel nearby costs only slightly more [138 euros, silken] Very very unstable and unreliable wifi; atrocious
Clean and newly renovated; comfortable bed Staffs unsure of procedure; bathroom leaking with foul smell
Good position and value. Thin walls. Could be noisy, but during my stay I heart only the houskeepers pushing their carts in the morning.
location room was very basic, breakfast was poor
The hotel is very small compare to other hotel round the corner . when i was there the air condition was not working . i have to sleep with all my window open and i was at the first floor . it was a bad experience the rooms are to small . where as for an extra 10 euro you get a much bigger room just along the street
Very good location, close to everything (metro station, plaza catalynua, port, food , shopping etc) no refrigerator
Very convenient location for all tourist attractions.
very close from the shopping area the bed are a little bit too strong
clean and tidy no iron
Arc La Rambla is situated in an excellent location - close to all amenities. I booked a double room -superior but got a twin room - then we were moved to a double room on request but this room had no view - was very disappointed. We could not understand having booked a double room and ended up with a twin room- first room was lovely with the view. However the staff were friendly and rooms were clean. On the hotel paperwork it stated double superior room.
excellent value for money, clean, friendly staff, we will be returning later in the year all the room needed was a kettle and tea making facilities
The room was a bit smaller than we espected but was really good. My sister's family was in a larger room (same price), but it was near the air-conditioning.
Location was excellent. Bath room was stinking moldy.
it is right on the Ramblas, so access to everything was good, including the metro and transport links. There was some building work going on,that we were not told about, on our floor, although it started early in morning they did try to keep the noise to a minimum
Everything with hotel was great except my only complaint was they would not give me an iron told me I had to get that service paid for which annoyed me the most. That the hotel would not give me at iron
i liked the fact that the hotel its in the middle of everything and its quite friendly.
There was nothing much to like. The staff was surly and astonishingly unhelpful, they gave me the wrong room, then hours later the right room but the wrong keys. The problems were endless. The staff was horrible. Things didn't work but they wouldn't fix them or move me to another room. Lots of other people's hair in the bathroom.
The place of the Hotel. Right on the Rambla
Excellent location No complaints
Location was very good Nothing
The location, and the staff was helpful The bed were hard and not comfortable and the double beds kept getting apart from eachother
there was an acident, we lost a mobile phone, and receptionists were very-very kind and helpful in the process of searching. thanks and thanks again. the front of hotel and the hall need an urgent cosmetic facelift. rooms alright.
The location of the hotel was second to none. There were signs for a Bar but couldn't find one.
The middle garden or terrace is really nice for chillout Hotel provides a free bike room size are quite spacious Rooms looking at the garden has amazing view in the day time Staff at reception are vey helpful Breakfast selection is very limited and its not hygienically taken care of Some of the catering staff are really rude and some and very kind and helpful The TV selection is extremely bad, so don't even think of setting in your room
the location and the free wi-fi computers in the rooms were super.
The location was fantastic.
Proximity to main sightseeing places. Ability to enjoy walk around and along La Ramblas. Close to grocery bazaar (good option for delicious low-cost dinner: selection of cheese + several slices of prosciutto + freshly backed bread in nearby bakery + bottle of good table wine). Shopping lover will appreciate boutiques along La Ramblas and L'Corte Ingles Department Store across from Catalunya Sq. Offered breakfast was not bad (quality and value). Laptops in rooms and free internet access. Proximity to LaRamblas has negative side: too noisy late into night. Rooms are bit small for family with 2 kids. Beds have metal cases and make horrible noise when anyone turns around at night. In the bathroom we had just a shower with no proper tub; thus when taking shower water would be all around the floor. Bathrooms lack hooks, thus one ends up leaving all the change clother on the toilet seat.
We liked the convience of the location and the style of the hotel. We had two single beds instead of a double.Corridors were a bit too dark.
Garden, location rooms and cafeteria are not clean enogh
Very cclean room No kettle in room. No hot water for shower on the last day.
The room was comfortable, clean and not what I imagined having read previous reviews, the staff on reception were very helpful and the location was perfect. The residents bar did not appear to be staffed at any point during our stay and the service during breakfast was less than helpful, however these are minor points and would not stop me recommending the hotel.
Modern, relaxed hotel, easy access to the Ramblas and other tourist attractions.
The location was ideal for access to the metro (within 50m), restaurants, bars and tourists sites. None, everything as expected.
The pool on the roof rocks!!!!! The services and staff were very pleasent and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending you or coming back for another visit!
nice terrace, view the harbor first night room into the inside (dark), I was offered a better room for the next 3 nights to the same rate (port view)
Excellent hotel, will return Small power outage
Location excellent, price affordable! Very happy with hotel!
excellent location ,beatifull terrace
Small friendly hotel, staff very helpful
The hotel was in an excellent location, five minutes' walk from the Ramblas. The rooms were very good, beautiful bathroom, friendly staff. They didn't come to tidy up the room until the afternoon when we were having a siesta.
the bed was very comfortable and the room had a good size. good location. thin walls so everything outside my room was heard. especialy the cleaners oppening and slamming doors in the morning. my room faced a noisy street with no noise isolatiin. when i arrived and went up to the room i had to wait 10 minutes outside the door for them to finish cleaning it. the TV did not work.
Location and the staff are top Seemed understaffed on the rooftop bar. Rooms can be dark and without a view
made our first vist really pleasant wit very good all round service. very convenient to explore area for food, shops and sight seeing
Central location.Room with a nice view.Rooftop for evening drink. No
Location; rooftop terrace great to find in city; comforatble room; friendly staff Not really - there is some noise from the street - mainly sirens - think ambulance service must be based nearby, but nothing you wouldn't expect in a city - didn't disturb my sleep anyway.
I wasn't particularly keen on the floor corridor lighting/door numbers which was a little ominous until the automatic lights came on. I was also waken up by the cleaners outside - possibly because the walls/sound insulation is poor.
Good location, free wi-fi internet, nice breakfast, new hotel and modern decoration, hotel staff very helpful. Room too warm; improve cleanliness.
Only the location There is no window in some of the rooms. There are 2 laptops for internet and they are not working
Central location, silent room, new furniture, free wireless, good breakfast
the staff were super friendly and very helpful! the design of the rooms was amazing as well, loved the poster on the wall of the train tracks by the seaside :D everything was perfect!
the location is gooooood the room very small(3x2) & small bed (not comfertable for 2) & small bathroom. wifi signal is very low even when you are at the loby. the room too cold with or with ac. the price is too high for this room
The hotel looks great - unfourtunatley it is not finished being built and so many services were not up and running yet. The staff were rude and unhelpful, the airconditioning in our room was broken and as a result it was sweltering overnight yet 3 different staff members we contacted denied there was a problem and made no offer of help. Finally when we complaind the next day we were given a 10% discount. We would have preffered help at the time.
Location, availability of computer use, staff helpfulness The front door is easily accessible to anyone. No security measures late at night, would recommend a key card system to open the front door. We had a woman screaming late night-mid morning and work us up. I am sure this woman was not a guest at the hotel. The next morning 5:30am there were a group of 3 men talking very loudly, called the front desk to make a complaint and the desk staff did not understand. We got dressed and went out to take care of the problem ourselves.
no hot water during the whole week end
The location of Hotel Espana is fantastic. Located just off of La Rambla you are only a minute's walk away, the marina is only 10 mins and there are plenty of restaurants near by. The design of the hotel was pretty good, mixing very modern in with the old. While renovation is still being carried out during the day there was a little noise and some areas of the hotel are still covered in paper and tape to protect areas. The rooms where a little dusty but we understood that this is from the renovation and not because they haven't been cleaned. I would recommend wiping the inside of the cupboard down before putting your clothes in. We got a good deal on this hotel booking it last minute so for the price we paid it was pretty damn good.
The room was very modern, big enough and clean. Everything is new and good in quality. Very good sound isolation from the outside but not from inside. There is a lot of noise from other rooms and hallway.
The location was more then perfect and the hotel is really beautiful. Often we saw people stopping outside to look in. Staff was extremely helpful, kind and spoke perfect English. Our first room was too small and only window to open was with a view of the renovation going on in the hotel and this was a smoker room which we wanted from start but I could not breathe in there because of dust and then this little window. We got another room with no problems to the street with a balcony. The room was pretty, stylish and bathroom as well. Only minus is really the amount of dust and white dust from renovation, the room was covered in it so if you laid your arm somewhere you had it on your clothes. But we just did not wanna "complain" again so balcony door was always open. I even had to clean the toilet before we could use it. but we would definitely come back if no renovation of hotel was going on
Great staff and you can't beat the location. The standard rooms are quite small, just big enough for a bed and two bedside tables. However, they are sufficient comfortable for sleeping. My biggest complaint is the noise from the hallway. The walls are paper thin! You will hear everything in the hall, from someone walking by with flip flops to the late night party goers returning. Therefore, expect to have your sleep interrupted throughout the night.
The Hotel's excellent location so close to La Rambla was perfect for our short city break.
The look was absolutely stunning no complaint
The price, excellent location and very friendly and helpful reception staff. Rooms can be a bit noisy as no carpets in rooms or corridors.
Good location,nice staff,clean&well equipped room,
Helpful staff, basic accommodation but well priced breakfast buffet
The Location Nothing
pleasant staff, location in the city center, good breakfast incl in price for room cleanliness of the room, esp. bathroom
The location The cleaniness, breakfast too crowded
good location, just of La Ramba, well lit area.
Staff very helpful.Provided good breakfast..also had good internet service.Good location for sightseeing and shopping...convenient
The best of Aparthotel Gutenberg is without any doubt the location
Very good location, very nice staff
w.c and the balcony the staff of the hotel
convenient place near the subway
Very helpful staff on reception, who spoke good English Breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was rather ordinary
Clean, convenient place
This is a great location. Hotel rooms were very clean One of our rooms smelled like sewer smells. The early evening staff was unnecessarily restrictive on the use of the hotel computer (which is set up for guest use).
Good location. large window / balcony that opens up to nearby courtyard. not as dangerous / seedy as the reviews suggested free wireless internet would have been nice. 2 nights were reasonable priced but one night was very unreasonable;
Fantastic location right on La Rambla
helpfulness of the staff
Excellent location, great value for money, close to port and metro, on Ramblas, convenient attached restaurant, helpful staff. We.ll be back! Liked everything.
The quietness, the view of "La Rambla", the proximity of the metro and bus station.
It's location to La Rambla and the activities of Barcelona was excellent. The room was spartan and the furnishings old and tired. Some desk staff were very abrupt. Breakfast very ordinary.
Great location close to La Rambla, yet very quiet with the window closed. Nice breakfast room. Practically no TV (13" without cable or an external antenna).
Cleanliness and close to las ramblas Poor breakfast...no fresh fruit !!!! stalish bread....lacked atmosphere and ambience
Location, close to la Rambla & Plaza De Catalunya was very convienient the drunks, vagrants & prostitutes constantly in the square in front of the hotel
General location just of Las Ramblas. Room very clean. No smoking in public areas. Breakfast was poor - no fruit, hot food was hot dogs and scrambled eggs, poor choice of cereals. Staff were indifferent and certainly not friendly. Hotel was advertised as oldest in city but lacked any charm or character. Immediate location was not very good. Even though room requested was "non Smoking" it had an ash tray.
very bad smell in bathroom
location. the man behind the desk was abominably rude. although i am staying in barcelona unexpectedly for a few days, i will certainly not be returning to this hotel.
could not fault the hotel, room and bathroom were a good size. very clean,a d nice breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent position, just off Las Rambles.
Hotel basic but very clean. Breakfast good for the price. Very central & easy to find. Would recommend to anyone looking for a short break. All in all, good value for money. Could do with tea & coffee making facilities in the room & it was a bit noisy in the mornings due to the wooden floor in the corridor.
great roof desk with amazing views of the city! Close to Las Ramblas which is nice but the street the actual hotel is on is NOT in a good area. Homeless people sleeping directly outside the door. Did not feel safe walking at night down the street to get to and from the hotel. Our room was assigned to another guest the same day-- as I was getting out of the shower-- there was another group entering the room with a hotel key the front desk had given them... it was understandably a mistake but still.... a little scary...and very awkward! Beds are VERY hard!
It was in the centre of the city. Convenient location. The room had only a window facing to walls (φωταγωγό) althought I had ask for nice view and the people had told me that it was ok.
i like the location (very close to the center of the city) and the view from the rooms (we were on the last floor and had amazing views of Bracelona)
locality would have been helpfull if security cameras were installed as we were nearly robbed at night and this would have proved helpfull.
the location, the staff was very helpfull
Proximity La Ramblas. Having a balcony. No bar fridge. The morning we left the credit card line was down and we were more or less demanded to pay cash. We didn't have the full amount due on us nor wanted to part with our cash so we had to coerce the staff into doing a manual transaction on the phone which he complained about. The free wireless is only on the first floor and was switched off a couple of times and was in a room that did not have air conditioning. I was also approached by a person off the street while on level one using my laptop on level 1 if I would allow them to use my room for a shower. I said no but felt this may be a problem for some.
Location and room accomdations next to Palace Guell in a Gaudi like hotel decor some noise level from other rooms/hallway but not bad
Location Bedding seemed to be old. Beds were comfortable though.
Great location and friendly staff Poor soundproofing of rooms and was noisy both late at night and early morning
location; room and bathroom with good sizes. no wireless.
very expensive. not good value or money at all
Hotel is not even close to 4 stars standard. Should be classified as 3 stars
It is very central. I slept like a log as the blackout curtains totally blocked the sun light and the double glazing was really soundproof. Although, we were in Las Ramblas pedestrian walk I could not hear a thing. I also liked the mattress a lot. I think they could have offered us bathrobes and slippers. I can do without bathrobes but not without slippers as I had to walk barefoot in the bathroom.
