Modern, relaxed hotel, easy access to the Ramblas and other tourist attractions.
The location of the hotel was second to none. There were signs for a Bar but couldn't find one.
We liked the convience of the location and the style of the hotel. We had two single beds instead of a double.Corridors were a bit too dark.
The room was comfortable, clean and not what I imagined having read previous reviews, the staff on reception were very helpful and the location was perfect. The residents bar did not appear to be staffed at any point during our stay and the service during breakfast was less than helpful, however these are minor points and would not stop me recommending the hotel.
The location was ideal for access to the metro (within 50m), restaurants, bars and tourists sites. None, everything as expected.
the location and the free wi-fi computers in the rooms were super.
Garden, location rooms and cafeteria are not clean enogh
Very cclean room No kettle in room. No hot water for shower on the last day.
The middle garden or terrace is really nice for chillout Hotel provides a free bike room size are quite spacious Rooms looking at the garden has amazing view in the day time Staff at reception are vey helpful Breakfast selection is very limited and its not hygienically taken care of Some of the catering staff are really rude and some and very kind and helpful The TV selection is extremely bad, so don't even think of setting in your room
The location was fantastic.
Proximity to main sightseeing places. Ability to enjoy walk around and along La Ramblas. Close to grocery bazaar (good option for delicious low-cost dinner: selection of cheese + several slices of prosciutto + freshly backed bread in nearby bakery + bottle of good table wine). Shopping lover will appreciate boutiques along La Ramblas and L'Corte Ingles Department Store across from Catalunya Sq. Offered breakfast was not bad (quality and value). Laptops in rooms and free internet access. Proximity to LaRamblas has negative side: too noisy late into night. Rooms are bit small for family with 2 kids. Beds have metal cases and make horrible noise when anyone turns around at night. In the bathroom we had just a shower with no proper tub; thus when taking shower water would be all around the floor. Bathrooms lack hooks, thus one ends up leaving all the change clother on the toilet seat.
Reception staff were very helpful, the men especially, the first one we met on arrival was not very good !, everyone else was very good, cleanliness was excellent, would definitely stay again next time we visit Barcelona. On 2 Reception staff on arrival were not very efficient and tried to charge me for the deposit I had already paid.
Location is excellent.
Perfect location, extremely clean rooms and public areas, delicious breakfast buffet, amazing staff and very comfortable beds. Occasional road noise
The location could not have been better. The staff was quite helpful and spoke English very well. The hotel was expensive. The location accounted for much of this, but at these prices, the hotel should have been even nicer.
clean room . the hotel has a great location. we had to pay for a connection for electric.
I liked the design of the room, its comfort and all the facilities they had in it, breakfast, information pack and maps of most visited attractions in Barcelona and around it hand out during check-in. Also, the location of the hotel itself as it is situated in Las Ramblas.
good location overprice, poor room facilities, room was cleansed poorly
location is perfect the rooms are small but comfortable enough
location and cleanliness of the room
The location was excellent, the service was great. The room was large enough to live in comfortably for our two week stay, and well designed. The restaurants were both excellent, and the rooftop pool deck was a perfect place to practice yoga in the morning with a gorgeous city view.
Excellent service and very kind and helpful staff. Tasty styling, nice beds and quite room. The room was a bit dark for people of our age.
the location oh hotel and its staff on my opinion design of the hotel is too dark
clean, attractive, roomy room, everything worked
The room was comfortable and restful
From moment we arrived the staff were fantastic. So helpful and full of local knowledge. They even helped us secure tickets we had struggled to get before coming to Barcelona. 10/10
The location and the cleanliness of the hotel
The close proximity to the city centre and the amazing view from the rooftop deck.
Central location The front rooms are very noisy because of intensive traffic and poor isolation. Limited choice at breakfast buffet.
Close to everything.
The view on top at the pool is magnificent. Central location, very good reception who know the way in Barcelona, the bars, the restaurants, where to go, how to go ... The pool was not heated, so too cold to swim.
Location Many things
Very much, is very good located If we would come by car, no posibility to parc in the hotel
Excellent location, very friendly staff, my room was clean and relatively spacious The price is relatively high for the age and furniture of this hotel
perfect location to explore central Barcelona, but very quiet for a good nights rest the bar was shut for a few weeks!
Location great. Staff were helpful and friendly. Beds were eall comfortable. Shower good. Instead of a double bed there were 2 singles put together, this was fine, except they were on wheels and kept on rolling across the room. Great if you want to rearrange the room though.
great location but bathroom is old, emitting sewer smell
Very central but quiet
Beds are particularly comfortable and reception staff very helpful. Would be improved by provision of a small bar in the seating area on the ground floor, adjacent to the Reception area.
It's location was ideal, two blocks from the Barri Gothic, the Plaza de Catalunya, and the Ramblas. Despite its being in the city, it was very quiet in our room.
Excellent location on a very quiet street, excellent beds, warm room
location, quality of rooms
Quiet, near Ramla, very good service at reception desk.
The room was clean with adequate space for 2 and the bathroom clean and comfortable with a tab. The hotel was on a quiet street but very close to the Ramblas as well. Close to the aerobus stop at placa Catalunya. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was nice but kind of expensive (16,2 euros)
Location, room decor, room size. Expensive breakfast :)
If you're looking for a central location as your jumping off point for Barcelona adventures, Barcelona Catedral is an excellent choice. Newly renovated, the hotel is very well appointed and has all the amenities you'd expect from an inner-city hotel. Roofdeck infinity pool is gorgeous and the setting is really fun, basically overlooking rooftops and balconies. Staff was very accommodating and went out of their way to provide service. Food in the restaurant (we only had breakfast) was good, local and fresh. Located right next to the Catedral. Not much to dislike, really. A bit hard to find if you don't know where it is. Also, pigeons tend to fly up to the pool and bathe in it a bit, but the staff was on top of cleaning the edges of the pool so it really isn't much of an issue. I had hoped the hotel bar / lounge area, which was really cool, would have a bit of nightlife, but it was dead most of the time.
The location is very close to the centre of the city. The access to the hotel by car is not so easy (cannot be done by GPS navigation). The way to the parking garage is a little bit laborious. The breakfast was not included in the room rate. WLAN was not working, only LAN with the cable.
Location was walking distance to many sites and central to Barcelona. Rooms are clean and beds comfortable. Staff helpful. Checkin and out were a breeze. Everyone was professional and warm. No complaints.
Position and convenience is excellent The Bar area was a bit clinical and not conducive as a relaxation area
Perfect location, right in the centre of old town and a few steps from cathedral. Great price for lovely 4 star hotel. large rooms, very comfortable and modern, quiet street though right in centre, fantastic breakfast, lovely rooftop patio and pool. All around amazing hotel to stay at as vacationer or for business. nothing at all.
excellent location, very central but quite.
Staff was very kind and helpful, Location was excellent
The hotel is located within walking distance (or a brief cab ride) of nearly everything you could desire in Barcelona. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff is courteous and very helpful. Above all, the hotel is delightfully quiet--easy to to get a good night's rest.
The hotel was located in the heart of the city; steps away from the Cathedral; easy walking distance to La Rambla, transportation, Palau Musica, Picasso museum. Staff was attentive, informative, and gave great recommendations for restaurants and how to get around. The hotel provided a free Sunday AM walking tour of the Gothic Quarter! a
Hotel is a great value for what it offers. The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. Rooms had smooth, clean wooden floors and are equipped with modern ammenities. The hotel is located in the Barri Gotic which is a central area to many shopping centers, reastaurants, and focal tourist points. The staff was extremely helpful. It is a short walk to Las Ramblas from the hotel. The hotel is practically next to the Catedral. (a must see). The hotel bed are big however they are not too comfortable. I experienced a lot of tossing and turning each night. Hotel also states that they offer sound proof rooms but the rooms are not completely sound proof. We were still able to hear the people in the room next to us laughing and talking, as well as the noises from the front street.
The hotel is very central to the historic quarter. The walking tour of the old city provided free of charge on the Sunday morning was excellent.
location the rooms and interior of the hotel were not as expected
The freindly atmosphere and good service limited dining facility choice
the location of this hotel is the best in Barcelona.
Location of the hotel is excellent Employees collaborators Recommend to live in Close to everything Nothing
The very comfortable and beautiful foyer. The decor in bedrooms was too modern. i.e. bed too big causing little space, bath too high and deep with no hand-rail to haul oneself out! Not many shelves in bathroom or in bedroom itself. No hooks for towels/clothes to hang in bathroom. Could easily hear traffic and TV in next room but understand that sound-proofing is in progress.
The location was fantastic.Everything you needed in the room was available like the iron and a kettle for free coffee & tea.Nice touch for the complimentary voucher for 2 cups of illy coffee in the reception. There was a nice lady on the reception (don't know her name ) which seemed the head department, was really too helpful & she spoke with a lovely smile all the time. It took me like an extra hour for checking in. I asked for a room with an ventilator in the bathroom, but was told it's possible only in suits !!
quite efficient and the location overpriced
Location on La Rambla. The surprising additional charge for my 8 year-old son.
Junior Suite great view Sheets are not new, lobby is small, tolet broke down in 4 days - all that in a Junior Suite. Standard room very small.
Very attractive throughout and huge room
Location Size of the junior suite Not being informed that the public areas were all closed for renovation - not a big deal for us but I could see how others would be annoyed.
the location the price of the room and of the breakfast
good location no tea & coffee making facilities had to pay wxtra for safe when it was one of the features mentioned
The central location is the hotels best feature.
The Receptionist The enlargment mirror in the bathroom did not work and no blanket on the bed
Great Location right on La Rambla, Building and Interior central to major attractions. Spacious D/Room with balcony overlooking La Rambla. daily room service, Reception and cleaning Staff friendly. very enjoyable stay €15.00 for Breakfast to expensive encourages guests to dine elsewhere. Why not reduce price and fill the breakfast room. €2.00 for safety box key is petty and should be discontinued .
The location is a big advantage of this hotel. It is very convenient to get any point of the city. Maybe it needs a little touch up in order to make its rooms a little bit modern.
location does not meat 4 star requirments.
Ease of access to the Ramblas and the city. N / A
The location unnecessary noise (e.g. from electricity)
Location and price was good.
The spacious room, the balcony. and the street's view The lobby is not classy, the breakfast not various, there is no bell boy to help with baggages, and during the 6 days of our stay they did not clean the room, they only made up the beds, sometimes they even didn't remove the garbage from the pins.
Wonderful location, friendly staff, clean rooms.
Location! Boutique hotel category. Very pleasant service
My sister and nephew stayed here in this very comfortable boutique hotel. Very comfortable. Excellent staff. Great rooftop bar / very small pool with beautiful views of the Gothic Quarter and further. There was nothing not to like.
The look was absolutely stunning no complaint
The location of Hotel Espana is fantastic. Located just off of La Rambla you are only a minute's walk away, the marina is only 10 mins and there are plenty of restaurants near by. The design of the hotel was pretty good, mixing very modern in with the old. While renovation is still being carried out during the day there was a little noise and some areas of the hotel are still covered in paper and tape to protect areas. The rooms where a little dusty but we understood that this is from the renovation and not because they haven't been cleaned. I would recommend wiping the inside of the cupboard down before putting your clothes in. We got a good deal on this hotel booking it last minute so for the price we paid it was pretty damn good.
The Hotel's excellent location so close to La Rambla was perfect for our short city break.
Great staff and you can't beat the location. The standard rooms are quite small, just big enough for a bed and two bedside tables. However, they are sufficient comfortable for sleeping. My biggest complaint is the noise from the hallway. The walls are paper thin! You will hear everything in the hall, from someone walking by with flip flops to the late night party goers returning. Therefore, expect to have your sleep interrupted throughout the night.
The location was more then perfect and the hotel is really beautiful. Often we saw people stopping outside to look in. Staff was extremely helpful, kind and spoke perfect English. Our first room was too small and only window to open was with a view of the renovation going on in the hotel and this was a smoker room which we wanted from start but I could not breathe in there because of dust and then this little window. We got another room with no problems to the street with a balcony. The room was pretty, stylish and bathroom as well. Only minus is really the amount of dust and white dust from renovation, the room was covered in it so if you laid your arm somewhere you had it on your clothes. But we just did not wanna "complain" again so balcony door was always open. I even had to clean the toilet before we could use it. but we would definitely come back if no renovation of hotel was going on
The room was very modern, big enough and clean. Everything is new and good in quality. Very good sound isolation from the outside but not from inside. There is a lot of noise from other rooms and hallway.
Convenience of location. Nice staff. Nice lobby. The bathroom set up not convenient. Had to go to the bar anytime needed ice, no ice machine or anyone to bring it to room. No tissue or clock in room. Not many outlets.
The attention to detail, the comfort and the wonderful staff Room service was extortionate - tea, coffee and toast 50 euros, however to balance that soft drinks from the minibar were complimentary. We were disappointed that access to the roof terrace is not available October to April.
Front desk, restaurant & bar staff all very friendly & helpful. Beautiful lunch in the restaurant. Wonderful location - would recommend highly.
interior design central location but unsafe at night
Helpfull and pleasant staff, good restaurant and a fine location for Old city and Los Ramblos
The location was ideal for a weekend trip.
Location, decoration Some Neri Rooms are very small, heating didn't work in one of them. When we moved to a junior suite, everything was different.
Good, albeit expensive menu. Our waiter on Thursday evening was very good as was the bar man. Dark room, enclosed balcony, very expensive room service, huge TV but only CNN and Eurosport in English - plenty of spanish and German programs. Waiter who poured the dregs of the wine stright into my glass
Unique, beautiful building with fabulous rooms and interior design. The staff was exceptionally charming and helpful. They provided us with great restaurant recommendations as well. The only issue is that the hotel is situated next to a school with noisy children playing outside parts of the day. This may affect some people (like me) who must work in the rooms. But the children's voices and laughter were infinitely more pleasant than hearing a TV set :)
The location, the atmosphere inside and out,the staff, the size of room, the rain shower,
Fantastic room, great service, excellent location!
Very stylish and romantic hotel - ideal for our wedding anniversary
The helpfulness of the front desk staff. The PCs in the Business Center did not function well.
Location, quality of hotel, staff was excellent Everything was great
an excellent hotel, very central but quiet, well appointed rooms and good facilities. helpful staff.
Great location. Spa and gym was very nice. Breakfast was great and was included in my rate. The temperature control was hidden. Wish breakfast at the terrace was open earlier.
Ideal location. Feeling of security - plenty of staff about.
very good and i recommand that for all no
loved the indoor pool and spa! It was the primary reason for my stay
location was perfect bar very quiet could have done with a little music
Loved it all! Fab hotel
Central position nothing
Atmosphere, Comfort, cleanliness, facilities, spa, location and descent manners and service standard
The hotel is ideally situated in the midst of the pedestrian zone of the Old City. The decor is sleek with some oriental touches (zen court yard), and the rooms are of good size.
Very modern, new and well-appointed hotel. Great room near the terrace, had tea-making facilities, free wi-fi. Nothing negative to say.
the cleaning of the room and comfort and location.
Fantastic location for exploring Barcelona city on foot, great rooftop pool to come back & relax to, great bathroom facilities. Relaxed & laid back feel, free wifi. We enjoy natural light so room decor a bit dark but would not stop us from recommending this hotel.
i book a tax from hotel to airport, this price is 3 times than i from airport to hotel, I do not konw why
A great location, very comfortable. Loved the bathroom. Incredible latte. Breakfast is too expensive. There should be umbrellas on pool deck to provide more shade.
Excellent: location, decoration, cleanliness, room size, comfortable beds, heating, quietness No internet wi-fi...this facility was advertised and was a key decision point for choosing this hotel. Its absence was a major nuisance. Also, some of the staff were surly and unhelpful.
Location excellent. Room clean, comfortable and very modern if you like that kind of style. Staff friendly and helpful.
Location, Styling, Staff, Accommodation Awful Wireless Connectivity Quite Small Room
The room was very nice. The hotel was within walking distance of most signts we wanted to see and the staff was very helpful.
