everything was excellent, but the breakfast was poor
best location that can be for family, center, but quiet. stayed with the kid and the room was upgraded to Delux triple for free. Very good terrace to have brcfst or lunch.
Locations is great, hospitality was great, hotel atmosphere is excellent. Mix between classic and trendy. Breakfast.
The location of the hotel is fabulous! I could walk to the Borgese Gardens, the Trevi Fountain, The Spanish Steps and the Colloseum! The shopping in the area was fantastic! I only eat fruit in the morning and I found the fruit salad skimpy, composed mainly of apples and swimming in a sea of orange juice from concentrate. Surely a 5 star hotel should have a wonderful fresh fruit salad, with melon, kiwi, pineapple and berries.
Excellent service from all sectors ! Rooms are cleaned twice a day !
location near good restaurants and comfort no
We had some difficulties with our booking due to unclear communication with bookings.com but the hotel staff, in particular Claudio was fantastic and sorted it out for us very pleasantly and efficiently. He was also excellent with recommendations for sightseeing tours, restaurants etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this fantastic hotel.Kind regards,Susan and Max.
A lovely, elegant hotel located in a prime location! Excellent and very attentive service. Hotel staff made me feel very welcome and was extremely helpful in providing information about restaurants and things to see. I requested an early check-in and the hotel was able to acccomodate me. I would definitely stay there again. It was a little tricky trying to adjust the water temperature in the shower.
Friendly staff and good location Room service, mini-bar, etc were very expensive
Very nice rooms, clean, great service, nice location. Breakfast was execellent. Rooms and bathrooms were renovated. We liked everything...
Exceptional service from staff. We checked-in before check-in time and a room was made available for us very quickly. Our stay was only 1 day so we did not have time to try the hotel facilities. Breakfast was included in the price paid for the room. We were leaving early the next morning and we were told that a take out breakfast would be ready for us. I found this very nice but the next morning no breakfast was available. Bed sheets and blankets not comfortable,
The staff was extremely kind and assisted efficiently in providing good addresses and securing bookings for museum visits, etc. The rooms are very well equipped, very clean and comfortable.
The friendliness of the staff. The prices for the room service menu were extremely high. Also, the cupboards were not well designed (hanger rods placed very high and it was hard hanging clothes and getting them down).
location. roof terrace the hotel is tatty and does not have the level of service I expected from a 5 star hotel ... the beds are incredibly uncomfortable and we slept badly. This is a 4 star at best and does not have any romantic or luxury component to it. The roof terrace is nice
Beautiful eurorpean decor, the terrase for a glass of Procecco, locations, quietness. price of meals
splendid breakfast with good view 7th floor bar and restaurant not open during our stay
Good location, qualified personnel, hotel corresponds to expectations of the guests. As a wish: to have own SPA zone. It is inconvenient to visit hotel restaurant in the evening, it is necessary to take a reservation at least, for a day earlier.
The hotel staff were veryprofessional. A really excellent hotel but Two very small picky points. For the early birds, the Gym and Breakfast only open at 7:00 If you are on a tour to the Vatican or outside of Rome, you could be leaving at 6:45, which therefore doesn't give you access to the breakfast, or gym.
the location and the room standard I did not like the breakfast. It was not up to the satdard of a 5 star hotel. Also thehotel was offering SPA services which were not located in the hotel , but in another hotel, which is not convenient especially during cold times.
the location and the view from the 7th floor restaurant the 6th floor breakfast buffet. Horrible flooring. staff not as attentive or as friendly as in other 5 star hotels we visited in Italy. Mirabelle restaurant was lovely, however the bar area needs attention, too small, and way too much traffic from kitchen to enjoy the beautiful guitarist
The location is excellent, near the tube station and walking distance from little restaurants and shops, and one of the main attractions in Rome, the Fontena di Trevi The breakfast, despite being a buffet didn't have a great choice, there was no fresh coffee (in Italy come on..!!)...we did ask for a quadruple room and as we were 2 couples, one of us had to have 2 separate beds as they couldn't provide 2 double beds..which was a shame..and it was soo noisy at nights, shame about it!
The staff was incredibly helpful AND always so cheerful! The rooms were beautifully appointed. It's in a great location that's beautiful (especially at night) but not overrun with tourists. A little more info on the Metro & where/how to buy tickets would have been great.
Nice location on the Via Venito close to the Metro station. Lots of very good restaurants nearby and walking distance to the Spanish Steps. The service was wonderful and most of the front desk staff spoke English. Everyone was helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The bathroom was very tight. The wifi worked well in the lobby, but our room was at the far end of the third floor hall and the signal was off and on.
I liked the location
great location. some staff helpful. One man behind front desk was rude! I know standard check in is not until 3pm. He first tells me he'll get my room ready by 230 or so. OK, I sit and wait til 315PM, he has totally forgotten me after letting other folks in. then he disappears. Finally I ask and another manager lets me in my room and apologies.
Location was good, close to shops and attractions. Breakfast was plain but acceptable.
We stay at the Imperiale every time we go to Rome...Always a pleasure!!
very good location!the metro station nearby.shoping and historical area 10 minutes walking! the back room was very small but when we complained about that ,they change us to a front room(via venetto) who was very nice and much bigger!very bad coffe in breakfast.in Italy??
Welcoming staff. Good location. Real continental breakfast (acceptable variety of the food). Cleaning of the room can be done later. Sound isolation could be improved. Bad coffee served during the breakfast.
I liked that the hotel was in the center of Rome I think it was very expensive for what you get...
Literally not much. I think some part of our stay should be refunded. If not for the terrible event in the morning the for the misadvertisement of ammenities. We were late for our train had already paid for our room. I have stayed in four and five star hotels plenty. Not saying we didn't look young or scruffy but in no way we're we staying above our means. We tried to leave quickly in the morning they assumed we trashed the room they locked us inside the lobby, and threatened to call the police if we left before they checked. So I tried to explain they had my credit card and passport on file and I would give them my phone number if there were any issues my best friend who I was traveling with pleads with him in Italian and he starts yelling at my friend physically restraining him. It was disgusting behavior for a four star hotel. Also there was no gym which they advertised they had and essentially was the only reason we booked the hotel. This would never fly any where else I have stayed it was truly deplorable, but more then that I was just disappointed to have had search for a place that seemed nice and welcoming and comfortable, a break from the rest of our journey, and instead been sucked into a place with so little respect for its clientele. It's on a horribly touristy street filled with a couple bad restaurants a Hard Rock Cafe and a strip club. Although there is a fantastic wine shop around the corner with a very sweet owner.
The location is perfect. Really nice breakfast. Nice spaces for chat with friends. Very kind and helpful staff. There was no control of heating/air-conditioning in every room.
Location was unbeatable. Staff was not very helpful. Room was comfortable but nothing fancy by any means. The pillows were hard as a rock and no Wi-Fi that I could access..
The amazing 19th century builting. It's a trip in the past. Amazing. Service.
i like Mr.Luca very helpful person the terrasa was closed ..if i need ice for example i have to pay service 5 euros
The staff was friendly and helpfull. The central location is superior. The old world charm and beauty of the public areas, marble, frescoes and stained glass harks back to what the lap of luxury was like at the turn of the century when this hotel was no doubt reserved for the top upper class of society. Because the hotel is over 100 years old she shows her age and has not been kept up to the standards of a Five Star Hotel. She is a bit run down and in the rooms it appears that the money needed to maintain the standerd to which it claims is lacking. The glamour of what may once have been the best hotel in Rome has long since past. She is a grand old lady who is in need of some tender loving care.
The hotel is very beautiful. looks like one of the attractions in rome. The room (regular) was very big, alot of space. The location of the hotel is perfect The breakfast was OK, not worth 25 Euro tho. The table by the bed had stuff glued on it and the lamp swich was sticky, but except of it the room's cleaning was fine.
The rooms, designs and the hotel staff. no nothing
Location Service and attitude. No internet working - wifi or hotel computers out of order
the view. excelent deco. no ice machine
Location, The luxury of the 19th century and a kind of new roman decadence... It's a political matter.....but nice ! rooms , poor of confort, decoration, bathroom, all thonks that imbeliveble for a 5star hotel..!!!! even a international plug for eletrical shave in te bathroom....
Location Did not have Room booked had to pay 200 euros per nite extra for a room available. no heat, room cold .Bkft 1st day bad, got sick spent day in bed diarrhea. Great hotel at one time in need of repairs and renovation. No 5 Star. Restaurant filthy ,shower broke, electrical wires in open in room. Lived and visited Europe every year since 1961. Been to Rome 20 times worst experience.Have pic tires to compare to hotels website, big difference.Front desk not friendly or helpful
Location, friendliness of staff, The rooms at the 5Th floor were unproper of a 5 star hotel, the price is over to high
Convenient possition. Room in need of decoration for standard of hotel.
location II was upgraded from Junior Suit to a Executive suit which had a nice bedroom and a larger then a corridor made up to a living room. You had to watch the TV from a distance of perhaps 2 meters. There was another room with a table in the middle with 4 chairs nothing else which was useless.very small lifts.
All ok excpt the air condition. Air condition was bad not cooling enough.
The location is excellent for a good short holiday in Rome. Central. We did not like the first room were put in: room 379: tacky and filthy carpet and aged cranky bathroom.
the location is perfect to see all the sights. it's very central to the Spanish steps and with in walking distance to the rest of the city it wasn't as upscale as we thought it was going to be, and for the price breakfast should have been included
Location Un renovated rooms, wifi doesn't work well and they make you pay for it, we had to change rooms. This hotel needs to be renovated. This is really not a small leading hotel or a 5 stars hotel as marketed
Location was excellent. On a quiet road so not noisy. Staff were not very friendly. Restaurant suggestions were not great and no irons to borrow which surprised us for a 5 star.
The location is great. The room was comfortable enough. The hotel lounge was cozy. No wireless connection, despite the hotel staff is persuaded there is one. Ethernet connection + movies overpriced. Multimedia defficiency for a 5 star hotel.
Fantastic location - clean (and big) rooms. We stayed in the Annex but its pretty close to the main hotel so wasn't at all a problem.
location is good We booked a room in the annex and was assigned to a room in the attic of the main hotel (referred as an upgrade "the Top Room" by the hotel staff!!). However, the Top Room is very small and half of the room and the shower has very low ceiling and it was impossible to stand up straight. We feel that the hotel purposely gave us a room which is much cheaper and inferior to the room which we originally booked and pre-paid. Hotel staff at reception was very mean, rude and unhelpful. Breakfast was very small and of poor quality.
Close proximity to Spanish steps and the Metro station. Very convenient location. The elevator was being replaced. Hotel had a complementary bottle of wine waiting for us in our room.
Location is great Basic room facilities and services
the personnel was really helpful
Easy access to monuments and landmarks Room too small
The location of the hotel was excellent. It was a quiet and peaceful retreat just yards from the hustle and bustle of central Rome. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Excellent location, close to restaurants, shopping, sights. Nice to stay in a small hotel Would be nice with a tea/coffemaker in the room.
It is a clean, well kept, small, boutique like hotel that is very conveniently located within 7 minutes walk to the Spanish Steps and to some of the top fashion stores, and the subway. Our price included a continental breakfast which was decent. Plenty of restaurants and cafes around. The air condition thermostat is controlled by the hotel staff, centrally and can only be changed by them, usually not very successfully. It was not a major problem but could be for others. Hotel sign is not very visible.
The entire staff was superb. They were professional, helpful, friendly and hospitable. We arrived early in the morning and they made a room available for us to use until our other room was ready. Breakfast was included in our room rate. The breakfast selections were outstanding. It did not have an exercise facility and the rooms did not have an iron and ironing board.
The hotel is in a convenient location. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly.
I'm usually pretty critical of hotels but the staff at this one was great, from the doormen and valets to the front desk and concierge. Good job by all of them. Also, the internet was wired, fast and reliable, usually hard to find at most hotels, so key to my happiness there. The rest was standard fare, rooms were good, room service food ok but expensive, nice bar on the roof, etc. The only thing I didn't like was standard european convention of a "king" bed not being a king mattress but really being 2 small twin beds pushed together. It leads to many sore backs in the morning, or falling into the gap in the center.
The hotel was lovely and on a quiet street, by Rome standards. The staff were great. I had erroriously booked a single and didn't realize until we checked in. They quickly fixed my error and we weren't charged any extra rate. They were friendly and so helpful. I needed a couple of "C" batteries after frying an appliance. They went out of their way to find me one and left it in the room while we went to dinner. The included breakfast was absolutely fabulous and we had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was also very good. Our room was very spacious, comparable to very nice US hotels and the bathroom was huge and very clean. The housekeeping staff did a great job daily. All and all, it was great to come "home" after a long day of sight-seeing and relax. We would most certainly stay at Sofitel Rome again.
Good location, helpful staff ,beautiful hotel. Would stay there again. Very small room and lack of a business center with computers
Staff was very helpful, location is close to nice places such as Spanish steps and via veneto. Price is a bit over-rated in comparison with what the hotel can offer
The staff were excellent - pleasant and helpful at all times. The roof top restaurant was disappointing. The quality and presentation of food was reasonable but not to the standard expected for the prices charged; a limited menu.
The staff were extreemly helpful!
Eloquent, classy, clean and helpful!
We enjoyed the comp. bottle of champagne to celebrate our aniversary.
Efficiency of staff and service. Breakfast could have had more fresh fruit--v limited selection of fresh fruit. Would have liked a sofa area in the room.
The hotel corridors and common use areas are old. Rooms were looking better in the Web pictures increasing the expectations.
Nice situataion, very central.
Good central position, but hard for taxis to stop outside. If you have a room overlooking the street, it is very noisy, and the beds are also not comfortable
The hotel staff was very helpful in everything we asked. The location of the hotel was perfect. In the middle of both sightseeing and shopping.
The room 112 was excellent. Very nice little patio, very quiet in the evenings. Cleaned every day in a very good manner. Superior staff. None.
Overall good package. Location is prime, breakfast like family, friendly staff, clean and warm environment.
The location was very good, with a small baby it was very easy reach Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna and Via Del Corso. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was not sufficient and full of delicatessen. So called open buffet contained Philadelphia cheese and some kind of cream cheeses. It would be nice if they had Mozzarella and other local Italian cheeses. Breakfast extras were so so expensive, we offered boiled eggs for our little son, it was 4 euros! Overall, I can say that hotel was expensive.
All the Hotel staff where friendly and very helpful, Breakfast was part serve your self and waiter/waitress service for your drinks and with as much as you wanted to eat and drink to set you up for the day. The bar facilities where good and comfortable but a bit pricey but it is a first class hotel in a city centre so this is to be expected. A short work and you are in one of the main shopping streets of Rome. The Trevi fountain is 5 min walk away and the Spanish steps are about 10 min walk but be prepared for the heat it was a lot hotter for the time of year than we expected at 33 C. The hotel air con was a must at night. We did not feel it was too expensive, I have stayed in more expensive hotels and no where nears as good in the UK. This Hotel comes highly recommended from both myself and my wife. Nothing at all. I would stay there again if I was to return th Rome
location small room
the position is close to the important places and between the spanish steps and trivi of funtain
5 star hotel One star internet. Spotty internet for a hotel this expensive is unacceptable. As are the prostitutes working the neighborhood around it
Very good position, satisfying breakfast, picking up from and return to the airport, immediate response and assistance to our questions and queries regarding reservations in museums and restaurants.
Excellent location, clean, Very professional staff. Good price.
location no formal bar
Very good location Very kind staff in the reception
Staff attentions and location I would like to have air conditioning on at night as when openning door there was a lot of noise from the streets. Also, laundry wasn't ready same day.
Fantastic service by the staff.
Good location Beds caused back pain for both of us staying.
Location is very convenient. Staff is helpful. Breakfast. Cleanliness. Very bad insonorisation. You can hear practically everything. Almost the only bad -important, though- point of the hotel. Rooms are relatively small but smart.
Location was nice .. In the heart of Rome's shopping area... Limited food for breakfast buffet.
modren room, breakfast nothing
The location was perfect being able to walk the city easily. Love the boutique atmosphere while still providing the necessities of any larger hotel. It was picture perfect and when I return to Rome, The Hotel Art will be my place to stay.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Art. Very central location, friendly staff and food was delicious.
The rooms are small but very well equiped and the service is excellent. The location is perfect and you can easily shop around, use the metro or crab a taxi to see the city. The hotel is called Art and has indeed several design objects (not my taste) but maybe yours.
Location is great. The street and the hotel is very charming. Well decorated, good breakfast. Rooms are fine, although they are a little small. The staff was not very welcome and not very friendly. I didn't feel like they wanted to help me... Unpleasant
Location was so good. Right by the Spanish steps and in a beautiful street. The hotel staff were very accommodating for gluten free food at breakfast and the breakfast and coffee were very nice. The style and decor in each room and level were really nicely done and you felt like you were in a really special little secret in Rome. Would love to go back to this hotel and would recommend to anyone.
Close to shopping area The room is small and the shower in (on) the bathtub without curtain, water from shower wet the whole bathroom
The decor The lengh of time it took to check in the room was not the room requested
hotel is not comparable with other 5 star hotels in Rome. . the hallways need a paint job hotel is not comparable with other 5 star hotels in Rome. . the hallways need a paint job
Comfortable hotel, super view of the city from the roof top bar No Sky sports channels on the TV. Cost of drinks in the bar
The location for the Eden is wonderful - close enough to the sites, while in a quiter luxurious neighborhood in Rome near the Villa Borghese Gardens. The public rooms are beautiful and service impeccible. our rooms were nicely appointed however did not have good views. The rooms have no carpets, bare wooden floors and there is no outlet in the bathrooms for hairdryer use. When I called the concierge to inquire how one could use the hairdryer in the bathroom I was informed that you must use the hairdryer at the desk in the bedroom. There is only one outlet there and so I had to unplug a lamp to plug in the hairdryer that is supplied by the hotel (clearly a woman was not present when designing these rooms and bathrooms!). Otherwise, an elegant spot in Rome and it was a very good value!!
The hotel was very clean and furnished beautifully. The location is great. It is massively over-priced. The bedrooms are relatively small for the cost (I had to move furniture everytime I wished to go onto the balcony or dry my hair in front of a mirror) and although the view from the restaurant is stunning, the service wasn't anything special given the extortionate prices - in fact we expected much better.
The hotel is luxurious and well run. I felt the excessive charge to use the internet was unecessary.
Location, breakfast. Everything else
The situation. The views from our bedroom window of trees and the park were good. We were happy to be situated up the hill away from the very busy part of the town. The beds were not quite as comfortable as I like and the beds were not made one day.
We have stayed at the Eliseo many times over the years and it is like visiting an old friend. It is very central and the 116 bus outside is a treasure. We have noticed in more recent years that the hotel is not maintained as it used to be and is getting a little shabby, a pity but something that could easily be put right.
the environment and the ubication.
hotel was clean and in a good area, everything is very small- elevator only fits two people, rooms are small. had 2 English speaking tv channels. was far away from all the sites, need to learn how to use subway quickly or else you will be forking out a lot of money for busses and taxis. buy the ROMA PASS and it includes buses, subway and 3 sites to see with jump the line.
Excellent Barman - very professional and welcoming Dreadful coffee at breakfast
Location Verry small room. Bad facilities and toilets
Staff - see my comments above Needs upgrades to beds (mattresses) and other areas such as downstairs sitting rooms - clearly in need of paint, wallpaper, etc.
Helpful reception staff, excellent breakfast room with commanding views of Rome. Staff were a little overrun at peak breakfast times. Rather small bar area.
