No cars were available. Management at airport location did not inform the long list of customers until I asked what he status was. I ended up having to cancel and use a Taxi. Wasted 1.5 hours in this process. Will not use Budget again and will not book any personal travel through Kayak again. The vendor Kayak used to source this rental never answered my calls and their number and email was used for the rental versus mine. Made it impossible to call them and cancel the reservation or attempt to switch to new car rental. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with renting a car. I will also be making friends and family aware of this so they too do not leverage Budget and Kayak for future reservations.Reviewed 28 Apr 2026

The car was excellent and the employee was working so hard but it took a full hour and a half (90+ minutes) of standing in line to pick up the car because there was only one person working the rental desk (at noon!). It was the longest rental car line I've ever experienced and it delayed the rest of the trip. I wish there had been more employees working.Reviewed 24 Apr 2026

My husband and I took a ride share from our hotel to the f Pick up location which was permanently closed We then paid the driver to take us to the posted alternate location and they had no cars! After asking the employee what was going to happen I suggested we go to the airport so we paid another ride share to drop us off at the terminal return! In line at the airport they made ME call customer service to remedy the issue and get back in a long line to get the vehicle! This was a 3 hour rocess altogether and a costly experience. We waited in line for 40 minutes, only to be told there were no cars available. Most people in line had prepaid contracts for a rental car and Budget breeched the contracts. HORRIBLE! The oil light came on during our drive to the beach. We called roadside assistance. They told us to get an oil change and keep the receipt-- we'd be reimbursed up to $100. So we spent an hour of our 4-hour beach trip getting an oil change. Afterwards we submitted the receipt and NOW THEY'RE SAYING THEY DON'T HAVE AUTHORIZATION TO REIMBURSE US! I'm going to be filing a small claims suit, I guess. No way I'm paying $90 out-of-pocket to service THEIR car. I'm so disappointed this is their choice of outcome.Reviewed 29 Jul 2025
