Pullman Yangon Centrepoint - Yangon - Bedroom
1
9.1 Excellent (2,014 reviews)
AED 400+
Overview Reviews
Pullman Yangon Centrepoint is located in the beautiful downtown Colonial Quarter overlooking Maha Bandoola Park, City Hall and the unique Sule Pagoda, while Bogyoke and the night market are at walking distance. All rooms have a separate shower and bathtub, a work desk, IPTV and free WIFI. The hotel features The Merchant All Day Dining Restaurant, The Junction At Pullman, Gustave Lobby bar,(limited) fitness facilities, a Ballroom that can host up to 600 guests and 5 meeting rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel was perfect for us as we could walk to all the downtown attractions. Room was spacious and clean, with comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom was luxurious. Staff at the concierge and front desk were efficient, friendly and informative. Breakfast at the Merchant was varied and delicious and we enjoyed the local tea and cakes and mohinga noodles. The staff at the restaurant provided exceptional service and concern for our comfort. Special thanks to Zayar Tun and Aye Thandar. Special mention too of the doormen who should be given better job titles as they did so much more for us. Will definitely return and recommend.
Cons: The pool was a little cold in January as it was in the shadows but was still nice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice Hotel, very close to "downtown", i.e. Chinatown, river front, "old" market and right next to Sule Pagoda. The Junction City Mall with a very well stocked supermarket is about 20 mins walk or 10 mins by car/taxi. The hotel is right next to Mahanbadoola park and some of the colonial buildings, such as the High Court, are right across form the hotel. The rooms are bight and spacious, with comfortable beds and nice views of the park. The staff was very nice and accommodating and, after an initial hiccup with the reservation, everything was fine. Airport pick up worked and form the airport to the hotel was about 30 mins drive. The hotel arranged for a driver and car during our stay, but this was an external driver and we settled the bill with him directly rather than the hotel. The cost was about 50,000 Myanmar Kyat per day for approx. 8 hours. There are plenty of taxis which can be flagged down, however, I cannot say how cheap, reliable and comfortable these are. Food (breakfast and dinner) was nice, and along with the standards, some local specialties and freshly squeezed and customizable juices (for breakfast) were offered. All prices in the hotel are advertised in US$, however, Kyat and/or major credit cards (except AmEx) are widely accepted. Most ATMS (there is one in the hotel) accept Maestro cards as well, however, if you take a higher amount of Kyat, another withdrawal of a higher amount might be rejected as every withdrawal will give you a huge stack of Kyat notes. Room service menu is small but surprisingly good and the meals were excellent.
Cons: I had booked 1 night extra (1 night prior to arrival) since our flight landed early morning and I wanted to ensure that we have a room immediately available after a 15 hour flight rather than to wat until 2pm on the day we arrive. I had communicated this various times through booking.com to the hotel, however, when we were at the airport, I checked my email by chance and the hotel went kind of berserk, telling me the rooms will be cancelled and if we don’t show up or respond within a certain time frame, the booking will be cancelled. I immediately sent an Email and tried to follow up by phone, and but eventually I was able to solve this issue, even though it was a bit of an unnecessary stress and drama. I would like to ask the hotel to read the messages and clarify in case of something being unclear rather than threatening to cancel the booking even though a special request was made and explanation was provided why an extra night was booked
4.0 Okay
Cons: At the end of my stay 150 US Dollar were missing from my room. This ruined the experience. Never happened to me before. Therefore, I cannot recommend to stay at this hotel.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was incredible. So much variety and so tasteful with homemade bread. My room was spacious and the bathroom + amenities were great. After visiting Myanmar for a week, I treated myself with my last night at the Pullman to decompress and relax before taking the plane back home. I must say that it was a great decision as I spent most of my time in the swimming pool and tasted all 3 restaurants in the hotel.
Cons: I was surprised to see that the windows were not very clean. It was more obvious in the Italian restaurant where all the windows were very dusty. I am talking about the windows facing the outside (dust and pollution from the streets probably) but still, I would have expected those to be cleaner so I could window gaze and take photographs without specks of dust all over.
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff are polite and friendly. The pool area is very nice. The rooms are well decorated and comfortable.
Cons: Didn't really feel like a 5 star experience compared to places like Rose Garden and Wyndham Grand in Yangon which are much better. For example nothing complimentary in the room like fruit, no turn down service at night etc. We asked to book a taxi to the airport the evening before check out and they told us they didn't do that. We had to order a grab taxi ourselves at 5am when we were checking out. Also I don't understand how a can of myanmar beer in the room is $2.50 and the same can of beer by the pool is $4. Both attract an additional 10% service charge. Also soon times at the pool bar there were no staff for short periods of time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location of the hotel. Comfortable beds, very good stuff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good Breakfast, very polite staff, good quality
Cons: Nothing

Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property and its gardens are magnificent and well situated within the town. The rooms are large and quiet and are very well equipped with everything one could possibly need. The pool is wonderful and the birds in the trees chatter constantly. There even is a family of peacocks and a couple of geese in residence. It’s impossible not to love this hotel.
Cons: The restaurant has indoor and outdoor tables which are lovely, but the food doesn’t quite match the location. It’s OK, but not outstanding. The breakfasts, however, are excellent.

Novotel Yangon Max - Yangon - Building
3
9.0 Excellent (7,323 reviews)
AED 422+
Overview Reviews
Indulge yourself in 5-star luxury a 20 minutes' drive from Yangon International airport at Novotel Yangon Max. Contemporary design with Myanmar accent and modern accessories make your room a tranquil retreat. Cool off with a dip in the swimming pool. Watch the famous Shwedagon Pagoda from the pool deck while sipping a cocktail at the Pool Bar.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good people, good breakfast
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: I have stayed in Novotel Yangon for almost all my business trips to Yangon. I feel secured and safe within the area. The staff are trained with high standard and have good command of English. There are many restaurants within the hotel itself. If you are lazy, you can choose from Chinese, Japanese, cafe, pasta and western dinning.
Cons: During this most recent trip, I got free upgrade to the executive room. However, the phone was not working. I tried call the room service and it never got pick up. I have to get changed and pay a visit to reception just to order my "in-room" dinner. I think they linked my phone to the galaxy. After I finished my "in-room" meal, I thought of taking an ice-cold coke from the mini-bar. Adding to my disappointment, the fridge is not working and the coke is WARM... I have to get changed again and visit the executive bar for the ice-cold coke.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice location, walkable distance to Junction Square, Friendly staff. Nice selection of channels on TV.
Cons: Breakfast buffet can be improved, on friday morning they didnt have Myanmar tea available for breakfast, Im a big fan of Myanmar tea. The press iron in my room had some stains, I realised it only after it ruined one of my T-Shirts...this is partly my mistake as I didnt check the press iron surface before using it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed, linen and food
Cons: The room did not have a good view of the university campus with lots of greenery opposite which would have been great.
4.0 Okay
Pros: I have stayed at this property several times. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. They have a thorough breakfast buffet, with plenty to make anyone happy.
Cons: The room smelled bad--and the smell did not dissipate over my stay. The carpet was stained--not just with foot traffic but with dark drips and spills. There was a window--but it faced a wall, so the room was quite dark. For me it was too dark to read the documents I needed to work on, even with the dim lighting that is provided. The material on booking.com said the room included a view, so I had not anticipated this problem. I left an electronic toothbrush in the room when I checked out. Although I contacted them later the same day about it, they said nothing was found, which I assume means the cleaners threw it out.
9.1 Excellent
Cons: Tv was about to fall to the ground. It looks dangerous.

The Strand Yangon - Yangon - Building
5
9.0 Excellent (797 reviews)
AED 867+
Overview Reviews
In the heart of Yangon, The Strand Yangon is within a 5-minute drive of Sule Pagoda and Bogyoke Market. Featured amenities include limo/town car service, a computer station, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Planning an event in Yangon? This hotel has 6480 square feet (602 square meters) of space consisting of conference space and a meeting room. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free valet parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The food, the complimentary fruits tea and coffee! Good standard even though the room facilities can be a bit dated. I also like the colonial style decoration!
Cons: The massage is average. A bit disorganised at check out as the precooked taxi turned out wasn’t precooked ...they miscalculated customers bill.
4.0 Okay
Cons: Attention to detail was not there...this is supposed to be a five star hotel...the sink in my bathroom was blocked, the phone broken, an empty vase graced the bathroom. No advertised pictures of old Burma on blank walls. Large but impersonal room. So called butter (s) did nothing but collect and hand out room key. I had to tell them each time I came back my room number. Food was hit and miss. I went to the New Year dinner at the restaurant. All in all very very disappointing. I have stayed at Raffles, E&O and many other classics but this is one not to be repeated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a small beautiful boutique hotel. Lovely decor. Exceptional chef n staff.
Cons: Too pricey
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The thing that sets this hotel apart from other 5 star hotels is the fact that the staff are truly excellent (I would say 6 stars for the staff if it were possible). Because the hotel is relatively small, I think it allows for a much more personalised touch. The facilities (pool, spa) of the hotel were also very good, as was the a la carte breakfast/ restaurant.
Cons: Not that I didn't like it, but if you are considering staying here you should accept the fact that the hotel is >100yrs old and as such its angle is 'luxury mixed with character' rather than 'pure, modern luxury' (such as might be found at a modern 5 star hotel). I think having character makes it much more interesting... It was nice to sit in the breakfast lounge and think about who might have been sitting in this exact room having their breakfast 100 years ago...!
6.0 Good
Pros: The renovations have been tastefully completed and the swimming pool area is blissful.
Cons: Unfortunately The Strand didn't live up to the hype and expectations. Little things let it down. The sink in the bathroom was blocked. The desk telephone was broken. No flowers I'm the room, just an empty vase. No pictures on the walls. New Year's dinner at the restaurant a big disappointment. I have stayed at Raffles and the R&O, unfortunately The Strand lags behind. As a side note the butler (s) on the first floor never knew my name or room number and I had to ask for my key every time. Sad when there were on three rooms occupied on the floor...
5.8 Okay
Pros: Old world charm
Cons: Not worth the price
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very sleek, simple design but very elegant and a nod to the colonial days. The service is absolutely exceptional, with friendly staff catering to all needs. We had the most relaxing time there, relaxing by the pool (which was spacious, and despite being two weeks before Christmas, was pretty much empty, though I doubt it ever gets full). We were extremely fortunate to have amazing weather, and had the luxury of being upgraded to a higher standard room (extra 5m^2), and a 24hr butler service. All the small touches were well done, like a night treat with the turn-down service. The location is also great, with sights of Yangon on the doorstep and a plethora of amazing restaurants within walking distance.
Cons: The cooking of breakfast wasn't quite on point. Whilst very decadent (the lobster dishes were yummy, but maybe too rich for breakfast), soft boiled eggs were overdone, and the deep fried yolk also, but understandably difficult to balance, and this is being pernickety to find flaws. (they in fact brought out another deep fried yolk, which was runny). I have also been in bigger showers too. We also had heard great things about their happy hour, (drinks were good, and the amuse bouches were a nice touch), but sadly it was quiet, and they did allow smoking indoors, which was sad.

Pros: Nice room good wifi clean friendly staff excellent food convenient location nice view from my room (of the Shwedagon Pagoda)
Cons: inadequate gym facilities dining room very crowded at breakfast time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed at many hotels in South-East Asia, however, the staff & services of Chatrium were excellent, in fact better than any countries in South-East Asia. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to travel to Yangon, Myanmar.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The quality of the hotel
Cons: Normally we like more low key accommodations but it was great because my wife and I were sick and we needed to recover quickly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff here are amazing - we were allowed to check-in at 8.30am after a long night bus. The rooms are beautiful and so are the facilities and the pool.
Cons: At $15 breakfast is quite expensive if not included in your room rate.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: High class hotel
Cons: Smelly room
9.7 Excellent
Pros: I liked that service at the hotel. Once you entered, you were greeted immediately and taken care of. I was able to check in early and get my room earlier than check in time. The staff was very attentive and you could see that they tried their very best (especially the housekeeping team).
Cons: The pool bathrooms. Because I had a late flight and wanted to freshen up prior to my flight, I had access to the pool / gym bathrooms to freshen up and it did not live up to my expectation as it felt like it was literally a bathroom / shower in a hut. It needs to be regularly cleaned by the hotel.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is really beautiful. It has all the service necessary and a great breakfast. The rooms are big and comfortable. The price is also low for the services offered. The hotel is also located near a pretty park where you can run (as I did) and walk. It is also quite close to the city center and to the main pagoda. Highly recommended!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel, nice rooms, very quiet and in a good neighbourhood. Also, the local restaurant across the street was good.
Cons: Receptionists should receive training on how to handle credit card payment. It was not done properly at all. Didn't make me sign and then emailed me a couple of days later, it was messy. In the end, it was resolved but I was surprised that a hotel of this level didn't train their staff sufficiently.
6.3 Good
Pros: It’s beautiful, from the outside. The staff are also amazingly helpful. It’s close to the lake and a few nicer restaurants.
Cons: Nearly everything is outdated and looks shabby and thrown together. The layout of the place doesn’t make sense and is confusing. It feels like it’s more of a venue for events than a hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is really beautiful. It has all the service necessary and a great breakfast. The rooms are big and comfortable. The price is also low for the services offered. The hotel is also located near a pretty park where you can run and walk. It is also quite close to the city center and to the main pagoda. Highly recommended!

Pros: everything is very good in this hotel. It is a bit old but the maintenance is sound. the staff are very helpful and quick. With a large guest room, the value for money is top rank.

Pros: Nice building, traditional decoration, big room, a la card breakfast. Very good value and tasty Italian restaurant in ground floor. Must try
Cons: Some mosquito in the room, if hotel can provide some anti mosquito spray in the room will be better.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Not much, pool area and restaurant were okay
Cons: Bed was hard and short, pillows were terrible, shower pressure was non existent and timber floors were very noisy in rooms above. Staff require more training.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a quirky feel to it, a proper heritage hotel, unlike the old-but-renovated-like-new hotels. Service was excellent and the food delicious.
Cons: We had a strange experience at breakfast, which itself was fine, as we got denied a cup of coffee at exactly 10.00 am when the breakfast closed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The elegance. Our room - a suite was so large and well furnished. The pool area was a quiet oasis and the meals we ate for lunch and breakfast were delicious.

Pros: Staff were delightful and very helpful. I had a problem with a booking at my next hotel in Bagan and the staff at the Savoy willingly got on the phone to the other hotel and helped me to resolve my issue. I was very impressed..

Pros: A quiet and lovely oasis within the hectic of Yangon. The atmosphere of the Savoy is fantastic. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food (the burger) was very delicious. The Pegu Club and the Gin o' clock (with excellent Myanmar Gin) was very nice. Just a great place to stay.

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Very nice and helpful staff, some English speaking. Well cooked Burmese food for breakfast
Cons: Very noisy because close to a main street Old building, minimal bathroom, small room, many without window. Poor equipment in room : no fridge, no kettle, no coffee,... I don't understand the rating of this hotel on the site. It's the less confortable and pleasant hotel I've been in Myanmar (twice a month stay) for similar price Pretty far from downtown main interests
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I don’t usually get around to writing reviews, but the staff here were so lovely that I had to! They were so friendly and willing to go out of their way to do whatever they can to help. I came down with food poisoning one day and they brought ginger tea to me in bed, and also packed me a special breakfast on my last day because I was leaving really early. The beds are great with enough space to sit up properly and with individual lights and curtains. The free breakfast is probably the nicest I’ve had in a hostel. All round great hostel and amazing staff!
Cons: Can’t think of anything negative, but one tip is that because there’s a shower and toilet in each cubicle, make sure you put the toilet paper back inside it’s holder to stop it from getting wet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is always nice to come back here. Location is perfect in downtown Yangon. Thank you to the lovely receptionist lady for booking us the bus to Kinpun (Golden Rock) which takes only 4-5 hours from Yangon.

Pros: perfect value for little money! i had to book a dorm bed but really enjoyed it a lot - spacious room, big comfy bed with curtain, perfect reading light, really cosy and fun to stay in! :-) staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, breakfast was always a delight! much recommended!
Cons: aircon in dorm was a bit too cold - then again, it is really hard to find the perfect temperature with an aircon, i guess.

The hotel has a large shady pool area, apart from in-house dining options, there are a number of excellent restaurants nearby. 6.7 Good
Cons: Very noisy. I was staying on 18th floor and could hear music and voices from one side and someone snoring from the other. I couldn't get any good rest at night
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The caring staff when I was ill
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is ok, but the vairety don't change. Normally I stay for 3 days and almost every day I will see the Chinese Tim Sum will be the same for the duration of my stay..
Cons: At time the shower mixer don't really work, thus either it is too hot or too cold.
6.7 Good
Pros: Guest rooms are huge with fantastic views, comfortable bed. Clean.
Cons: We booked this property because of the gym and pool, but were unable to use either due to a full crew taking over. The property neglected to tell us about this and suggested we use the facilities when filming was complete - which would be after we had checked out. Communication here is not great at all.
5.0 Okay
Pros: 21st floor restaurant was very nice with spectacle view.
Cons: Some staffs especially at reception are not well trained and rude. They are grumpy face and too slow for check in process. I have used this hotel for 3 times so far, and every time very staffs are like this treat for me. Rooms are clean but one thing i don't like is they don't have hot water. Breakfast was awesome.
7.0 Good
Pros: Central location, good gym, excellent breakfast
Cons: Food menu at the pool bar could include a few more vegetarian options. A simple drinking water dispenser instead of all the plastic bottles would be nice.
Pullman Yangon Centrepoint - Yangon - Bedroom

Pros: Like everything about this hotel. Gorgeous rooms. Cute courtyard to drink a few cans of ABC in the afternoon when it gets too hot to walk around. Superb location, dead center. Just a few blocks away is Aung Mingalar, one of the best Shan noodles in town. Also Easy Cafe/Gentleman Roasters with elite coffee. Can walk to almost everything here in 30 mins or less, Schwedagon pagoda, the lake, Chinatown, downtown, train. Ultimately though, it is the staff that really makes this place great. No matter who you see, they are kind, helpful, warm, and friendly. As good as it gets. We ended up staying here twice on our return to Yangon, could not really imagine having a better experience anywhere else.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: It’s a typical 5 star international hotel. Nice Teak Bar
Cons: Food expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All very nice. Extemelely nice staff. Great restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Great pool area and generous gym. We can entirely recommend this place.
Cons: We got an additional bed for one children which was good. However, US$ 30.- per night seemed a bit expensive.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I love the big bedrooms and the large gym.
Cons: The breakfast was excellent. The only drawback was certain foods ran out by 9am and there is still one hour left to go. When the serving staff was asked to refill the food which ran out they just simply said sorry no more left. This is not good enough for a 5 star hotel which excelled in everything else. As I visit Yangon once a year, I look forward to eating these types of food and being told no more left is a big disappointment for me.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are fantastic. The atmosphere in the hotel is fantastic too.
Cons: There was no swimming pool.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel G was the perfect place to wind down after travelling around Myanmar for 9 days. It felt very Shoreditch-Like with a nice atmosphere, big expat vibe. Best bed we have slept in for a long time. Great location for market, main pagoda and central colonial buildings district.
Cons: Nothing much really. Aircon was a bit to loud.
6.0 Good
Pros: Great location. Separate shower from toilet and really nice rain head with good pressure. Good finishes and style. Clean. Good food in restaurant.
Cons: Small room - bed and no space for stuff or walking around, no room service though restaurant on first floor, concierges were somewhat helpful but not too knowledgeable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel location is great, easy to access. There are restaurant downstairs and many near by. The room is nice and clean. Staffs is very helpful.
Cons: The hotel is near main road so there are some noise from cars.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Confortable, model and nice hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is quite good a the variety is enough - Eggs, bread, fruit, sweets ,etc. Room is nice, clean, comfortable beds and pillows, etc.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very high comfort of the hotel, excellent design. Relatively nice view from the room. Good restaurant. Proximity to the city centre. All in all, definitly to recommend.
Cons: An extremely minor point - the restaurant in the hotel is very popular among expats and it gets very noisy in the evening. However, the noise does not reach rooms. Also, there are plenty of restaurants in the area (that are much quieter).
6.0 Good
Pros: It's a very upmarket stylish place in the gritty city. Aesthetically it's faultless with a lovely bar and restaurant. The breakfast is good and the staff were all very helpful.
Cons: The rooms are very small but manageable. The big problem with this hotel is the noise. Unbearable banging noises that we think came from the gym made sleeping past 6am impossible. The walls are paper made and any door slam is very loud. It's a shame as the hotel is gorgeous and the staff amazing but we just didn't sleep well.
