Loved the old class with a touch of modern. Breakfast was a block away, and small amount of parking. But if you love the elegance of 1800's architecture; then this is a definite yes!
Large rooms, comfy beds, right across the street from the fabulous Fox theater and an historical building to boot. Being only three floors high, there is a bit of street noise heard in the rooms. Nothing the hotel can do about it.
cleanliness, staff, downtown location, spaciousness, atmosphere $10 extra per day parking, trains, limited breakfast selection
I loved everything about it, no complaints!
Picked the Montvale for it's location and price, was very pleased with the quality of our room. I would say adult only simply because of it's location to bars (they're good bars though) and lack of breakfast options in the immediate vicinity. But the Satellite Diner and Sante are only short walk away. We also discovered that Post Street Ale House serves breakfast, which was awesome. The Montvale nor Hotel Ruby are really set up to serve a proper breakfast, props on the Thomas Hammer Coffee though. Luckily there are food options downtown. Post Street Ale House serves awesome breakfast nachos and Sante is a personal favorite for breakfast.
The room was great, and the history and character were well preserved through the restoration. The hotel will be even better when the surrounding construction is finished. No in house breakfast, but they offered discounts and complimentary breakfast at the Ruby Hotel, less than a block away.
I loved the decor - it felt so luxurious. The surrounding neighborhood was wonderful to stroll around, and the nightlife seemed really interesting. Everything about this place is thoughtful and enjoyable. The complimentary breakfast was nothing to brag about, but it rarely is, and it didn't diminish my experience one bit. There are plenty of places nearby to enjoy a more full breakfast experience.
The hotel was clean and located near downtown. There is a restaurant and pool that makes the hotel inclusive. The size of the room and bathroom were smaller than my personal preference.
Nice staff. Easy parking situation. Comfortable. Clean. A little loud. Hotel is very close to the freeway. A/C was SUPER loud even on the "low" setting - sounded like a jet taking off.
It is close the the freeway and downtown. The staff were nice and pleasant, but it takes away a lot when they are smoking outside the lobby. It is run down, the bed cover was patched, there were stains in the ceiling tiles. One of the elevators did not work. If your room is on the freeway side of the hotel it is noisy because the windows don't seal well. Parking is even though it is free, is limited, We literally had the last spot beside the garbage bins. The continetal breakfast looked pretty good, but the eggs were cold, there were not sausages or waffles left. It just seems that it was not monitored well, so items were not replenished in a timely manner. This was a last minute choice for us of what was left. We will probably not stay here again.
Comfortable and clean room, staff was very friendly and helpful. Facility in process of remodel. In the process of remodeling so not all amenities as available.
Friendly front death clerk Carpet, elevator, doors, bed in need of a good cleaning or replacement
They didn't clean our room, when I told the front desk about it, they said the cleaning service had left and it couldn't be cleaned. No apologies or price adjustment.
Nice room with amenities + a super breakfast with many choices. Went two days without wash cloths being left in the room. Had to ask for some at the desk.

its a very ok hotel nothing over the top. super easy access to highway breakfast needs to be better
Friendly staff The pictures online were not remotely accurate. Stained carpet..weird smell..terrible wifi...the hot tub water was so low the jets were above the water line..very outdated and the area did not feel safe. This hotel was represented as 3 1/2 stars on line
room was filthy we checked in and there were stains on the carpet the room looked disgusting! My husband and I were worried we would get aids just from sleeping there. We got switched to another room that was just as bad. We checked out @ 11 that night!
The staff was friendly and the room and linen were clean. Breakfast was also decent Outside of the hotel was shabby and run down. Pool was freezing and un-usable. This is not a downtown hotel and is not worth the usual rate of ---$ let alone the jacked up rate of $--- due to an in town event. Will not be staying here again.

Not much except it was convenient when we needed a place to stay near hospitals What a dump. Changing to Ramada soon so travelers beware.Front desk person sitting on steps outside smoking cig and didn't come in to check us in until she finished it.Lobby floor filthy. Walls with tears in fabric behind front desk. Elevator foyers dirt
The pool Our shower didn't work along with the t.v. and phone.
Easy Access to room . Bathroom not cleaned properly.
The room was dirty, it looked like it had only been vacuumed down the middle of the room and not in the corners for a long time. The bathtub caulking had black mold, and we could hear water dripping in the walls above the bed and in the bathroom. We had to wait until after 5 pm to get into our room because it wasn't ready.
There was only one choice in Spokane. It was a good one. I am sure there will be more improvements as the location is lovely, the room was clean, staff very helpful and friendly. The walls were thin as every noise wafted through. As well, being close to the airport, people arrived all hours of the night and it was noisy as they chatted down the walk. Noise. Hopefully they can improve as I believe they have just takenn over from another chain.
No long distance phone service in my room.
Shuttle to airport, extended parking, pick-up from airport planned before return flight. Cleanliness well below par, chose not to use shower or sink.
Fantastic, historic hotel that is beautifully decorated.
The staff was very nice. The breakfast was slow which it shouldn't be. The staff was great. The cooks for breakfast need to speed it up a bit. I don't consider breakfast a "dining experience" like I do at night. Too many things to go do
We stayed in the davenport towers and it was great. This was very short notice and everything from the valet to the room to the dining was first rate. I'm not sure why its not rated as a five star. This was the best value I've ever had in a hotel stay. Can't think of a thing
I love the historical elements of this hotel. The rooms are large, elegant and quieter than the newer Davenport Tower across the street. The staff are friendly and upbeat. The special touches include a nightly turndown with peanut brittle candy. The only thing I don't care for about this facility is that the atrium area of the main floor always feels dark. There is a lot of beautiful dark wood, andiIt is true to the original era I suppose, but when I took my book downstairs to read, despite the sunny day, the room was too dark to read in. It's such a beautiful room, I always want to turn the lights up a but brighter.
I liked the all around excellent service from the valet parking to the turn down service.
Super friendly staff, and the beds and pillows are amazing! Room service was a little $
the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had the pool to myself 2 mornings and it was well kept, nice jacuzzi. Cost of breakfast was a bit steep-a yogurt parfait and coffee was $11. The first night I stayed there it was really crowded and I could not find parking and had to come inside to the lobby to find out we had to park in a lot across the street. Was not a huge deal but it was so cold and windy and it was a long way to walk
We enjoyed a swim and soak after arrival. In the morning it was nice to get out on the river trail for a stroll before breakfast.
Beds are very comfortable and location was great Felt like I was charged for every little thing. Staff acted like I was an inconvienance. I have stayed here before but will begin looking elsewhere.
Rooms were clean and well arranged. Location in proximity to Spokane Arena was great. No free breakfast!
Did not like having to pay for parking price is high enough to stay. So many other hotels near by do not charge for parking.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Red Lion. I was able to rest, relax, and enjoy the wonderful Riverfront Park which was a short walk from the hotel. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The only thing I can think of that may be nice is to have a place in the hotel where you could purchase late nite snacks. Microwave popcorn or a cookie would be a great addition to the coke and water machines. Also, paying to park in the hotel parking lot was a bit strange. I would be a little more accepting of this if valet parking was offered.
Easy access to the park, spokane arena & restaurants .I luved walking the trails by the Spokane river, they were endless.
The location of the hotel was amazing. It sits right next to the Spokane river with a short walk to the river side park and downtown Spokane. The hotel has two swimming pools, an indoor and an outdoor with a waterslide-fun for the whole family. The quality of room was horrible. The room was tiny, in a hallway with construction going on and not at all comfortable. On top of all that the hotel charges an extra optional fee for parking!-That's right parking. I would have been much happier paying $10 more for a room with parking included than have it as an optional charge in my opinion. The bathroom was tiny to match the room and the towels were not clean-they had crusties on them. The bed was hard, not enough pillows and during the night the fitted sheet (that was too small) slipped off revealing the ripped, stained mattress below-disgusting to wake up laying on that! Overall, I dare say we will not be staying there again.
Nothing Charge for parking no breakfast small rooms. Room smelled of marajuana
Great location with direct walking access to the park and downtown. The pool and restraunts within the hotel provided lots of entertainment. This hotel is already one of the more expensive options in town so I was disappointed to be asked to pay extra for parking at the hotel and then $12 per person for a breakfast buffet.
I loved the staff!! Everyone was incredibly sweet and helpful, we had two young kids and even without a pool they had an absolute blast! Great cookie time and breakfast was awesome for being included! Will stay again! I got nothin
clean and comfortable, modern decor and amendments, full free breakfast moderate road noise due the location of the hotel at the corner of two streets
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well stocked. Everything was in great condition. The location felt very safe.
Easy access on foot to all the major stores, sites, and facilities in beautiful downtown Spokane. Parking is a bit challenging small outside lot and indoor parking garage is great but, small spaces!
Staff was very friendly and the location is good. The rooms are quite small and in need of an upgrade. They gave us a room on the second floor with a view of wall. Although the room was tidy when we arrived, there were signs of wear: stains on the chairs, hole in the shower curtain. For the price, I would go somewhere else.
Nothing. Average property I have stayed at this property a second and final time. Gave them a chance to redeem themselves and failed miserably. As a downtown location parking is a substantial amenity and only street parking was available. When will we hold hotels accountable for their advertising. General Manager promised to make things right with a discount via email and I am not surprised there has no follow through on that empty promise as well! RUN do not walk away from this property
Good location, facilities and staff were very helpful. I like the idea that the pool and hot tub are open 24 hours. The breakfast is excellent as well.
Service was excellent. Room was very clean, ac worked really well, comfortable bed. It was a very pleasant experience. Grandchildren got to come and swim, they were very happy.
Staff was nice and helpful, clean rooms and linen. 2 of the 3 rooms was not read till after 1hour and a half after check in
Always a great experience. Love the hot breakfast! Our mattress was a little too firm in this room.
It reminded my partner of the movie Derailed.....
Benjamin the valet/bell boy was sooo professional and nice, great young man! Bathroom was large. Allowed us to check in early. The $17/night parking was a joke. Its a couple blocks away and you have to pay every time you exit and enter. Hotel was supposed to give us some credit back, but they didn't. Room service charges seemed exceptionally high. No fridge in room. TV cabinet doors just swung open, they didn't recede back into the cabinet which I found odd and it took up a lot of room.
lovely, very nice rooms and bathrooms Too expensive!
The overall hotel. The lounge/restaurant staff.
Comfortable bed No bathroom exhaust fan
We liked the location. The hotel itself was clean and the walking access to downtown Spokane and Riverfront park is fantastic. Even the complementary food and drinks were nice. The walls were very thin and the neighbor had a crying baby and toddler that drove us from our room. We understand it's the not the hotel's fault, but when we inquired about being moved to a different room we were met with some rudeness and told to "wait an hour or two" and that they would call the room and request them to quiet down. Good enough. However, the call never happened and the children did not quiet down. We inquired again at the front desk and were told they did not call the room and when we asked why not we again were met with a rude attitude. We left for dinner and returned to a fairly quiet room later that night. At 5:50 AM we were awoke by a phone call to our room phone. A gentleman introduced himself as "Charles from the front desk". He said a computer glitch had occurred and they needed to verify a number of occupants credit card info, we would just need to come to the front desk OR if we want, give him the info over the phone right then. We opted to go to the desk and he opted to hang up before we told him that. Later at the front desk we learned there was no "Charles" that work there. This room was targeted for credit card theft along a number of others and I wouldn't be surprised if he succeeded. We reported this to the front desk and were treated poorly a third time, however the manager did come out to talk to us and take all our info about the phone call and was a very nice person.
Cleanliness, courtesy, large rooms, great breakfast service, I really can't say enough about our room! No restaurant on premises, smallish gym, lighting in the rooms was a bit funky
Bistro ! Great to not have to leave the hotel to find dinner. Serving Maryhill wine's was a plus. Just need to move the wine selection up a notch. Nada
Super friendly staff! The beds were comfortable and the floor we stayed on was quiet. Everything was very clean. I want to stay there the next time we're in Spokane!
It was clean and close to the airport The refrigerator and wall heater were very noisy. The shower water was only lukewarm in the morning.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool and hot tub area were quiet and relaxing, we LOVED that it was available 24 hours. The restaurant was expensive for the quality and portions. The breakfast buffet was poorly organized making it very difficult to navigate through all the hotel guests. The movie selections were very basic and the prices were ridiculous, almost double the price of going to the theater!
The room was so pretty. We would suggest the rosewood suite to anyone and give it a Five star rating. I am not sure how the three stars got there.we only used the king bed and slept well.
Great staff with prompt service. Seemed to be in a bad part of town, but within walking distance to downtown eating and shopping.
It was quiet The lady at the front desk when I checked in was not friendly and the room looked nothing like the pictures on line, I would not stay there again just because of the way I was greeted when I got there.
Bed was really uncomfortable. For what I paid, the value wasn't there.
Nice staff clean room It was scary outside and I didn't feel my car or I was safe
The Hotel was located close to my destination. Beds were comfortable and clean. Room was made up when I returned. Everything worked. Someone got a little too zealous with a fragrance. Some sort of Berry smell was a bit much.
Comfortable beds Everything else.
Both pools were filthy, our shower drain was clogged, the room carpet was sticky. Gross.
This Red Lion was build as a temporary hotel for the 74 World's Fair but was kept after the fair ended and good thing. The facilities. Are not overly luxurious but the amenities, location and staff more than compensate for any shortcomings. The river walk runs right behind the entire hotel and enables guests to walk downtown, borrow one of the hotel bikes for a ride or get a great run in.
The room we eventually stayed in. Comfortable bed, OK bathroom, no odd smells like we had in our original room. Our first room had an unpleasant odor, it made my wife feel ill and she started to have an allergic reaction to the room. We called the front desk and we were relocated in ~15 minutes down the hall to an acceptable room. However, it was a lesser room and when I asked for a lower rate the next morning, I was told it was billed through another vendor but the manager would call me to discuss. She never called. It was a $20 difference in rates.
I had troubles getting on the wifi, he tried helping me and when he couldn't even get on he said it was my device that was defective and not there wifi. I Never had any problems before or since staying at your hotel. He kept insisting that it had to be my device and as a customer service person you do not insist that it is their device that is the problem, he should have directed me to their IT specialist and then let th deal with it. Also, we had our dog with us and we were given the idea that we were to be in a room that opened out directly into the dog area. We weren't but on the opposite side of the area. This made it inconvenient for when we needed to take him out. I Don't believe that I will stay at this location again.
Rooms were OK... But nuttin to write home about.. What didn't i like..... Well not enough time for all that.... But $11 for what they call a breakfast buffet.... These people should be arrested as they are robbing everyone.... From the price of the rooms to breakfast..... They should at least be ashamed of themselves.... They advertise pool and spa but fail to tell you they are only seasonal.... And be careful around staff and asking them questions as they can be a bit snippy... If you are looking to argue with someone for any reason i think that you will find that the staff is willing to help. Do yourself a favor just don't start here....
The room was dirty with stained carpets and dusty surfaces. The toilet was clogged when we arrived. After waiting for maintenance for an hour, I was handed a plunger and told to do it myself. The only thing this place has to offer is that it's close to downtown.
Very friendly and helpful staff. ..they really try to make your stay pleasurable. Sporadic WiFi. Could not access in room or restaurant. Had to sit at bar to access. Advertised "river view" is more of a garden or tennis court view.
The Pictures online were not of the same hotel it was the other facility located done the street. Got our hopes up. We will not use this site or booking.com again.
We liked the location and convenience to Downtown Spokane and Medical facilities. We enjoyed our dinner at the onsite Restaurant. Our Smoke Free room smelled of smoke. We had to open the windows for fresh air to help clear out the smell in the room. The in room Air Conditioning/Heating System had to be turned off as it just made the room smell worse. The chair in the room was stained, and the room was lacking the updating that I have experienced in other well maintained Red Lion facilities.
I was impressed with the shuttle service and the friendliness of the staff.
For the price we paid we felt very taken care of, great views of the water, a delicious breakfast, comfortable rooms, it was a great experience!
Perfect location and comfy beds. It's looking dated.
Hotel room was very spacious and clean.
Location to the airport
Location and convenience to airport. Cleanliness and facilities The staff that checked us in couldn´t find our reservation so we had to provide the confirmation number. It was prepaid through the internet and I now have another 450 bill to my credit card taken for none essentials. We spedn no additonal $$ in the hotel and have a $0 balance receipt.I will take this up with you on my return the the country and pick up my car in two weeks Please advise me if you can fix it before then.. Sincerely, Raquel and Darwin Kelllicut
The ease of parking . Slow, slow, slow speed of internet. The bed was an older style., not the most comfortable or the a usual bed that's in a Hilton-Garden inn.
Very clean & neat. Hot tub was out of order the first night, but was fixed quickly.
I did a one nighter in Spokane and needed an inexpensive spot right downtown. And, yes, Hotel Ruby actually exceeded my expectations. The room was clean, the beds were soft, and the shower was probably one of the best hotel showers I've had the pleasure to clean myself in. Also, the staff was great and the layout of facilities was interesting, yet, appreciated. Literally the only thing I didn't like was the fact that the Sapphire Lounge closed early on a Wednesday night.
I liked the location The cleaning people took some clothe out of our room when cleaning it and they made no effort to find them and return them.
Close to everything downtown
Proximity to downtown. It was a little run down and was not as upscale as I would expect for 160.00 per night. Bathroom is very small.
A true plus of the Double Tree is the complimentry shuttle service to and from Spokane airport, the staff was nice, and the rooms were very nice.
I liked how close it was to everything, just a short walk to shopping and restarunts. Our room was a little dated. I feel that it was not worth what we spent for our room. Also our heating unit was so loud, it woke us up every time it came on.
The beds were wonderful. Staff at the hotel were courteous and friendly. Nothing in particular jumps out as something I did not like.
The staff, especially Alexandria, was very helpful.
The hotel was clean and the staff were excellent as with all the hilton hotel chain
location to airport hairs all over sheets..wrinkled and dirty..i don't think the sheets were laundered ..maids just made the bed..so gross to pull down the blankets only to find long black hairs..YUCK
Good location, clean, comfortable room. No continental breakfast.
My Internet didn't work after 10 requests and me calling their 1800 No games for my kids and no business for me, money wasted
Pool, free breakfast Everything was great!
Uncomfortable bed and the loudest room!!
Staff was awesome, room was clean. I would definitely look to stay here again. It was a bit noisy, I think there was a soccer tournament in town and several players were here as well.
Breakfast was good That breakfast wasn't included in stay
nice staff, especially on check-in and at breakfast. Very comfortable and quiet room with all the amenities I needed, though it is a basic hotel and a basic room. nothing.
Close to the airport and a great pool area! Confusing layout and mediocre rooms.
We loved the restaurant staff, they were very friendly Front desk staff not so friendly,. I t was a bit far from our activities , and the room was really old, it was clean but needed a makeover. Felt it was a bit overpriced for the outdated room
The rooms were spacious, the pool area was very nice, the breakfast was above what is expected and the staff were very friendly and helpful. No hotel shuttle needed, we could walk to the terminal. The rooms were a bit outdated with very uncomfortable pillows. The hallways throughout the property were rather dirty and appeared to not have been cleaned in some time.
The proximity can't be beat & the price is good for a quick overnight before an early flight. The hotel is outdated, smells a little funky & the breakfast doesn't start until 6. Service was ok, not exceptional or awful.
The employee Thomas No discount for fire evacuees
Proximity to airport Breakfast buffet plentiful but not hot enough Lukewarm water Inop Lamp Erratic Thermostat Dingy, stained carpet Food service chaotic and slow OVERPRICED!!
The staff was excellent, friendly and professional The food was really good with a nice variety
I loved them Having pool options for my young daughter to play in and the restaurant staff was amazing with her. The fact that we were put right next to a room that was being remodeled, we could feel them drilling in the bathroom next to us.
The hotel offers a buffet breakfast that is incredible and the best way to start any day. Access to the hotel is difficult the first time and better directions through Google maps would be a huge benefit or better signage to help mark the way.
After spending 15 tiring hours traveling, Ramada picked me up at the airport with a nice, warm vehicle, loaded and unloaded my luggage. The check-in was fast, everyone was very courteous, and gave good directions when I needed them. Breakfast buffet was good. Comfortable bed.
Excellent room with every thing we could have asked for a very small price. The breakfast was the best part.
It was clean and comfortable. The shuttle took me to my conference and was very prompt. The way the front desk is set up.....each time I went to ask something at the front desk, no one was there. There was a wall with a back room and I had to wait for someone to peek out.
Walls were super thin. I could hear snoring from one direction and a sick or pissed off baby from the other all night long.
Everything was clean and appeared new or very well maintained. Breakfast was the typical free breakfast fare. They did have a DIY waffle maker, that was a plus. Nothing to complain about.
Very clean, nice rooms.
The room was excellent, the hotel was close to the airport and close to the people I needed to visit. There was nothing negative.
Room size is great, quiet even though it is right next to the airport. Very convenient.
Rooms are clean The steet light out side the building was shinning in the room. The curtains did not block the light. There also was a smell. Like an old smell. Overall I like to stay at wingate motel. I still felt the room was clean.
