The staff was very friendly and helpful at the check in. The rooms are very clean and modern. Good location. No room service. No water bottles in the room, if you want something to drink or eat you have to go to the lobby or a cafe in the second floor.
I loved the location. The hotel staff was fabulous. Very friendly and willing to help. The door to my balcony was permanently locked. I would have like to have had access to the balcony.
The taxes were supposed to be encluded- they were not!!
Beautiful hotel and amazing location with some great amenity options. The staff was very poorly trained and had terrible customer service skills. In our stay we got completely ignored by a consierge, had to wait to check in an hour after the check in time, a stuffed animal taken from our room by house keeping never to be returned. To top it off the walls are painfully thin, and a group of 6 teenagers got checked in next to us. Loved the location but will stay elsewhere at my next visit.
Loved the salt water pool, the oceanfront hammocks, the different restaurant options in the hotel, the 24 pool/hot tubs, very friendly and accommodating staff The rooms were very small and didn't have a dresser
Outdated and deteriorated exterior facade. Bar area can use an update. It's a good 20 years behind. More outdoor seating can be added to the terrace.
The Condado Plaza is a great bargain to escape the Winter blues and the excessive snows of the northeast. The staff is pleasant and helpful. When we first arrived and checked in, the room we were assigned had a defective AC unit and it was a humid swamp. I went to the front desk and explained the problem and was immediately moved to another room with working AC. The front desk staff was polite and personal. The hotel needs updating. It appears to have had a renovation in many of the public areas and the rooms. Those areas have a boutique hotel vibe, but the carpet in the hallways of the room floors need to be replaced.
I liked the beach being right there Wifi didn't work for a few hours tons of problems, when we told staff they said that they would call att, they said nothing was wrong with it, finally me fiddling with my phone, and almost a day later we got it to work. But the one thing that pissed me off, was the fact that they have hidden fees like a deposit of some kind that no one tells you before you go, which you if you pay that deposit with a debit card you're screwed because you have to wait 2 weeks to get it back. Everything is absolutely overpriced even the water. So what I did to frugal with my money was that i bought snacks and water so i wouldn't have to be $5 for a bottle of water. I could go on, but I didn't like it and will not stay here again
I loved the pools, swim up bar, the food was good too! The staff was super friendly and the place was very clean! The beach is man-made, very small, and the ocean is more like an inlet.
Remote didn't work. Exhaust fan in bathroom didn't work Room stains on counter and the floor that were not cleaned from previous guest. I checked in after 10 pm and was too tired to asked for a different room , then the remote didn't work, again too too tired to call but in the morning when the exhaust fan fan in bathroom did not work I, thought the view was not worth it.
Everything was so unbelievably great. The staff was awesome, the views were spectacular, the water sports were on point, proximity to the center of old san juan and condado center. extreme value for the money.
We loved the amenities, cleanliness , and attentiveness of staff in addition the local of the hotel to all different conviniences Nothing to dislike
I saw all the resorts and this on has the best bang for your buck. I am a young doctor and went with my girlfriend and did extensive research on best water front resorts and this is the one because of the pool and service. Becareful other hotels are in front of rocky beaches that will ruin your vacation. This has great beach prime location and amazing options on things to do.
Location is amazing. Condado area is vibrant. Great restaurants, great sightseeing. Our room had roaches and after getting a minor upgrade, things went downhill. In the fine print, breakfast package excluded my 12 year old daughter, which put us in a weird place because we were then forced to pay for the overpriced breakfast or take her somewhere to eat. The hotel muddled up our booking. We received wrong expectations about our room, which ended up Being small and cramped. Hotel management isn't empowered to take care of customers and we received an "it-is-what-it-is" attitude from the staff. After asking, they said that for a discounted fee, we could upgrade. The total amount meant $250 out of pocket which we couldn't do. This was even after letting them know it was our first time staying there and we were in town to celebrate my brother in law's birthday. The hotel restaurant's food was bland and the quality is not 4 star level. Chefs couldn't even get a boiled egg right for our 18-month old. Every morning, we had to request it at least twice. Room service was poor and slow: a simple order of chicken tenders with ice cream jumped from $12 to $23, between tax and the high delivery fee. To make things worse, after almost an hour, the order arrived with missing silverware and napkins for which we had to call again. Was so let down by this experience. Go to La Concha a block down. The few extra dollars will be well worth it.
Service from the staff was excellent. View from our room was fantastic. Room and grounds were kept very clean. Beach was lovely and kept clean. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return. A little pricey. Also someone was smoking on their balcony. We could not sit on our balcony one evening because of the smokers. I was told that the hotel policy allows smoking on the balconies as long as their balcony door remains shut. That may be fine to keep smoke out of the room but it doesn't help guests in nearby rooms. Smoking should not be allowed anywhere on the grounds, including balconies.
EMPLOYEES VERY NICE WORK VERY HARD TO PLEASE YOU LOBBY MUSIC VERY LOUD I USED EAR PLUGS
Nice área of San Juan near many restaurants. Old San Juan is a quick 75 cent bus trip (very nice buses) from in front of the hotel. Hotel has great pools, beachfront, with lots of activities for anyone.
It was on the beach, close to restraunts, walking to almost everything Drinks were very expensive!! 22$ for a local beer and a glass of sangria!! Worst sangria the whole trip! Went down the street and ordered a 3.99 sangria, was the best one!!
Staff is really courteous, upgraded our room for free. Always smiling, will help you no matter what. Had an amazing stay, and will definitely come back again.
Our family loved the close proximity to the beach. Taxis were too expensive. There's not enough public transportation.
Nice hotel, a little bit old Staff members are great Location is one of the best in San Juan Nice Beach front, nice poll area, everything else is below average You have CSV, Walgreens, and many restaurants walking distance Everything is overpriced Rooms are old and small Bar is noisy and crowd not cool at all Casino area looks aweful I didn't wasted time on it
I love how they had all the Amenities on site, and the Staff was Polite always willing to help and offer refreshments. The Rooms had a little Moldy Smell. Other wise my kids love the Pool and the Beach.
Wonderful live music at pool and in lobby. Beautiful beach, plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Nice pool, just a little chilly. Food is so-so and overpriced (no big surprise).
The staff were brilliant, extremely helpful and attentive. The porter staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The front of house was professional and again could not do enough to help. the room was clean and tidy and the facilities excellent. Given I was also working due to plane delays, the addition of fast internet made working extremely easy. The restaurant was also excellent and the location of the hotel perfect, within easy reach of both golden sands and pools with 2 jacuzzis. After my stay in the Marriott Stellaris (sister hotel to La Concha) about 1/4 mile away I was not a fan. This hotel shows them how it should be done. I can't rate either casino as I don't gamble but aside from that I could not fault La Concha Renaissance and would happily go again. I would not return to the Stellaris though.
Staff was great! Location Excellent it was close to the airport but you didn't hear the airport!
Had to spend one extra day in PR after vacation elsewhere, and we randomly picked the IH. We were pleasantly surprised. They let us do early check-in 4 hours before the regular time. The room was very comfortable for all 4 of us, and the beds were super comfortable. The facilities were also great, beautiful pools and of course a nice beach. Will be back for a longer stay next time. It's not inexpensive, but still a good value.
Liked the pool and beach. Service was horrible. Staff wasn't friendly. Had to ask front desk 3 times for someone to unclog our bathroom shower (super unhygienic) and after everything was said and done they didn't come to fix it or move us rooms. They didn't even compensate us for the horrible inconvenience. The place felt really run down and in a not so safe location for walking around. Additionally the bathroom wouldn't stop flushing all night so the sound of water was really annoying. Not to mention the smell of this rancid running water. Waist experience at an intercontinental (which I'm truly a fan of usually).
location to beach and pool Dollar you to death. They charge 22.00 a day for beach taxes and do not tell you to you check out and then apply it to the 200.00 that you must put down when check in. ( THIS IS JUST FRAUD ). when I paid 6.00 usd to use there computer in there business center, the internet would not work. They refused to refund my money. Told me to come back tomorrow and i could use the computer for free. I told them i was checking out today and wanted credit for my 6.00. I was told by management they could not refund me. Due to these hidden cost, we moved to a different hotel.
Nothing I paid a butt-ton of money to stay at this hotel. The girl at the front desk didn't even say hello to me when I was checking in. That says it all right there. Then she hit me with a massive resort fee, which definitely was not worth it. Then I said to her: "If you're going to hit me with an 18 percent resort fee, you might want to ease the blow with a simple greeting." Probably won't be headed back to Puerto Rico anytime soon. I'll just stay in NY where people treat you like shit, but at least you're still in NY.
The staff, the view Sliding door to balcony was hard to open and close.
The staff was friendly This is not an all inclusive resort, it does not even offer breakfast. We do not feel like we got our money's worth.
What's not there to like? There's nothing there not to like!
The location is right on the beach, close to the airport. Good views from the ocean facing rooms. We were on the 16th floor and it was great. Lots of restaurants nearby and within the hotel. The rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable. Great housekeeping staff, very friendly and helpful Sand fleas...a tiny bug that bites like a mosquito/bed bug. They were all over in our room. This was before we had even stepped on the beach, so they were there before we came and stayed with us till the end. We had to apply bug repellent to sleep and not be bitten. No activities by the hotel. They charge a resort fees but it feels more like a traditional hotel rather than a resort. Tiny bathrooms No easy access to clothes dryer, c'mon you are on the beach.
The hotel itself was very nice and fun, very nice overall design and loved the hot tubs. The rooms were very out dated and a little gross. Mold in bathroom and it need re-caulking.
The location was excellent: right between old San Juan and Condessa. The pool was small but it was made for hanging around and sunning. Beautiful old ruins right next to the hotel made it picturesque. My view of the sea was beautiful. Pool food was a bit oily.
the facilities pool and beach beautiful some rude personnel in valet parking
Let me start by saying that I am the type of person that reads negative reviews and most of the time ignores them because I feel some people can never be happy or they paid the price of a 2 star resort and expected services and amenities of a 6 star resort, that is not the situation with me and the Caribe Hilton. Also, I am not a newbie when it comes to travel. I cannot possibly fathom why someone would stay at this resort instead of going to an all inclusive in Aruba, Jamaica, River is Maya, etc... an all inclusive would be less than half the cost when considering food and drink (no exaggeration). Let me put it this way, if the Caribe Hilton was an all inclusive, it would be my least favorite all the resorts that I've been to but it is not all inclusive and you get price gouged with food and drink. Way, way, way too expensive for the value. You are not within walking distance to anything worth noting. Some will tell you that Old San Juan is within walking distance, that's bullcrap, unless you are a person that runs a couple miles every day it is not. It is close to a half hour walk. Who the hell wants to walk a half hour in 86 degree weather then walk up and down the hilly streets of Old San Juan all day then walk another half hour back to the hotel? The city did put in an awesome bicycle path so I guess you could do that, we didn't want to have to worry about them getting stolen while we shopping or eating. I enjoyed Old San Juan but if I wanted to visit again, it would be by a shore excursion while on a cruise. Our room was nice and clean. There were not that many people at the resort, wonder why, but you still couldn't get a good seat at the pool or Lagoon. The pools were small and freshwater and I worried because they didn't have chlorine the type of germs and things that were in it. The hotel was kind enough to put free fruit flavored water out for a few hours a day that ranged from refreshing to disgusting depending on the type of fruit. There was a wedding held there the Saturday we were there. An entire section of the beach was closed down and all the hammocks were removed because of the wedding. The hammocks were one of few things i enjoyed. At the end of the wedding, sometime between midnight and 1AM, someone decided to light off fireworks which I typically enjoy but not being woke out off a sound sleep and not going off feet from my room's balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful except when I was asked at checkout if I had a nice stay and I said not really, the girl just smiled and handed me my check. That was the icing on the cake for me, not only would I never stay at this resort again I would never stay at a Hilton again. For the grande finale, this hotel charges you a hotel fee on top of quoted price AND it is not cheap. Not sure if this is legal, but they know you can't do anything but gripe and moan because it isn't like you can walk to the hotel next door. Bottom line is if you are not concerned about money it's great
I really love everything about the Caribe Hilton: the lovely and calm beach, the food, the location, etc. I first came here in 1976 on my honeymoon and have returned twice! Lovely gardens and great service. Prices are very high, especially breakfast!
Awesome views, friendly/helpful staff, and beautiful private beach. Best resort in PR!
It was in the right between the old and the new city.
The staff were amazing and very accommodating The view was amazing, the hotel was very comfortable and easy to get around.
I like the exclusive beachfront and pool area with the view and close proximity to old San Juan. The staff was rude and sarcastic except for two which I came across towards the end my stay but far in between. Was treated as if we didn't matter since my arrival. Was told I could check in early as long as I paid a $75 fee when I spoke to them over the phone a day earlier and once I arrived was told I had to wait and I waited 6 hours.
This hotel is in a good location in San Juan, close to the airport, Old San Juan, and La Placita Sancturseas. Pretty beach area and overall appears to have nice banquet and resort amenities. From the website the location on the ocean looks appealing. Unaware of the additional resort charge I encountered when checking in. All additional services extremely expensive and gougingly high for mediocre service. Got sick from the food twice, facilities were dirty, loud and ill kept. Additional cost for ocean view balcony was not even close to that was described online. Perhaps it was just the timing and this hotels abundance of touristas that can't grasp good service from udderly piss poor hospitality and lodging. I've been to San Juan many times and travel frequently for work. Was absolutely accosted at the price, the additional resort charge and the complete disarray I found the resort to be in. Will most likely never stay at a Hilton chain again due to this experience. Not to rant on this as I'm pretty low maintenance, have worked many years in hospitality and it takes little to appease me. This experience was grotesque and I will certainly be more diligent in future bookings. Encouraged in discounts and refunds offered by companies such as Expedia for poor customer services such as this. No more Hiltons for me and most likely the last visit to San Juan given the costs.
Nothing. Staying there
The hotel is comfortable - not exactly a luxury hotel but certainly adequate. The staff is very polite and helpful. I was there for work so I didn't get to use all the facilities so I can't really comment on them, but my stay was very pleasant. I was charged an extra $100 or so tax (for a 3 night stay) in addition to the so-called "taxes" I was charged by Kayak. Whose fault is this? I assume Kayak is to be blamed here, since they do not mention that there are extra fees and taxes in addition to the price they charge. This is a deceptive practice.
