I had a very frustrating experience renting from Wiber in Mallorca. Despite checking in online in advance, I waited for over an hour in the office just to pick up the keys. It seemed like the staff were more focused on their socializing than actually serving customers—there were endless hugs and kisses during a shift change, which felt completely unprofessional. This is a business; I just wanted to get my car and be on my way. The insurance offered is also extremely poor. The excess is a hefty £1000, and the policy doesn’t cover much of anything significant. They’ll push you to buy their own insurance for an extra £120, which felt like a money grab. To top it off, the car was in terrible condition. It was dirty, had multiple scrapes and dents, stains on the interior, and even missing floor mats. It made me seriously question where the damage fees are going, as it’s clear no repairs are being made. In short, this is a case of “you get what you pay for.” Low cost means poor service and a shabby, damaged car. I won't be renting from Wiber again.
They scammed me to pay for insurance which was 60 euro for one day when the car itself was only 57 euro per day . Kayak should not be having there business on there site
Price & value was excellent. Auto itself was also excellent. Personnel were all friendly and helpful. Poor communication about where to get shuttle van was frustrating.
We had an unpleasant experience renting a car from Wiber. We had made the reservation via Kayak.com, and it was fulfilled by RentalCars.com and eventually, Wiber. Contrary to the listing, this location is nowhere near the airport, and requires a shuttle. There are no signs for Wiber shuttle, and it was difficult to locate their distant pickup location, far outside the shuttle area adjacent to the airport. The shuttles arrive every 10 mins or so, but we had to wait for second shuttle as the first filled up instantly. The rental location is quite far, and it would have been much quicker to rent at a proper agency like Avis or Sixt located at the airport, or even at a small agency in town. Upon arrival, Wiber would not honor our reservations with the documents we had provided, requiring instead an international drivers license. They also would not accept the 3rd party insurance we had purchased. We had no such problem renting vehicles with large and small agencies in Barcelona, Madrid and Vejer. When we finally got our car, it was not a convertible as advertised, but instead just a sunroof. When I insisted with the staff that they arent honoring the terms of our reservation, they said that Kayak.com reservations were not their responsibility. The staff was confrontational and rude, both at pickup and return. I rented the same fiat 500 at Avis at Jerez a few days later, and paid for a standard, non-convertible model. I had no such problems, and it came with the same sunroof.
Easy to use, nice and helpful employees
the car was clean and comfortable. there was a long wait for an associate at pick up and then a wait for a car to be ready. anna at the pick up desk was friendly and helpful. at drop off we were initially told that we would incur extra charges because the gas tank was not full and we were late. neither of these things were true but we had to go back and forth and pull up receipts and emails to argue our case. silly.
