We really enjoy our stay in this riad. It's very cozy and the staff was great! Mohamed was fantastic. He even woke up at 5 am, to walk with us to the taxi on our last day. We also had dinner in the riad one night and the food was delicious, but I my opinion a bit pricy considering the average prices in Marrakesh. It can be a bit difficult to find the place, so the best on the first day is to go with the taxi service provided by the Riad (however I must say, that you if are on budget, you should be able to negotiate better prices for the taxi - we paid 8€).
Riad Azenzer was exactly what we were looking for in a Riad in Morocco. The Riad was extremely clean and the staff was absolutely amazing. The location is a little off the beaten track in terms of the big concentration of Riads is near the main square but I much preferred our location as it gave an opportunity to explore a bit of the non-touristy side of Marrakech, and in general was much closer the the more authentic souqs than the main stretch beside the square. The food was AMAZING and came in huge quantities *especially the Tagine. The hosts really take care of you, one night we received a free meal of soup and dessert because it was too late to go look for food. Great Riad, staff and experience There was no door to the washroom, we already knew this before coming so we were prepared. IF you are uncomfortable walking around an authentic part of Marrakech then this isn't the place for you.
Friendly host who helped to set us up and to orientate ourselves quickly. Nice terrace and pool (which we didn't use, being winter). Free usage of Internet with computer (though quite slow)
The Riad was great for exploring the city of Marrakech. The owners Said, Cecille were excellent, also there staff, really helpful. I would recommend a stay at the Riad to anyone
the quietness of the place, away from the hustle of Marakech, feeling at home, superb honest food, wonderfull staff NO
The staff were more than helpful going out of their way to make our trip more enjoyable. The Riad itself was lovely and the breakfast was also very good. Nothing, everything was great.
Staff were very nice and extremely helpful. Hotel was clean and well looked after. Breakfast was excellent and the room was comfortable. There was no door on the ensuite bathroom... not a huge problem for us but some people might want to be aware of it. The pool wasn't heated and never got any sun, making it very cold and there unusable at this time of year (October).
The guesthouse was like an oasis where you could relax and enjoy the tranquil pool, with excellent service by the attentive staff
The riad was basic and clean, breakfast was generally excellent. It was proximate to the the souks and main square. If you book this riad make sure you sort out transfers from the airport with the riad direct as taxi drivers will not find it. The staff spoke little English and the more helpful ones are rarely about. so if you want to organise trips (such as to the atlas mountains) via the riad do it by email before you go otherwise you will be disapointed. Whilst the riad was proximate to everything it was not prominent (down a tiny back street) we got extremely lost (for at least 2 hours) everytime we tried to relocate it. Taxi drivers will not help you out of that situation ours had a fight whilst trying to ascertain where the flaming place was.... As for the breakfast being generally good, it was until the last day... Let's just say bacterial infections that I'm still fighting now!! Guess we just had a bad experience.....
