Easy to deal with, convenient off site pick up and drop off and very reasonable rates. I would definitely use them again as cars were good and they are by far the cheapest car rental company I have ever used.

Cons:

Dropped off prior to opening time at 7am but didn't get loaded onto bus for 15 minutes. Maybe they could start work 15 minutes earlier to check cars so we can get to airport on time. Also, clients had to work out who should go on first bus to airport based on flight departure times. I think the staff could have organised this. Excess was $5500, we would like to pay a (very) small amount extra to reduce this to $5000 as this is what our travel insurance will cover.

Compact car and efficiency of fuel

Cons:

Poor condition of vehicle. Vehicle made rattling noise from engine, which made us insecure of car breaking down. When defrost / a/c system was powered an extremely loud and disturbing sound came from what I imagine is the compressor. This last condition resulted in lots of vibration in the car when idle.

Pros:

Car was waiting for us...no delays. Clean, and gassed up.

Cons:

Car was old...it had over 117,000km on odometer, plus a weak battery making for difficult starting. But having said that, the car made it through iur rental period ok.

Would love the ability to select from a range of available vehicles or request a specific model of vehicle. Pick up and drop off quick and easy, 3 minutes walk from the terminal building.

Sixt was fantastic. The shuttle bus driver came to pick us up at Hobart Airport, despite being unable to find our booking. He spent an hour with us until the problem with Kayak had been sorted and they had assigned a vehicle for us and sent an email confirming this. He then took us to Cambridge Sixt rentals and explained to the receptionist the situation. We received a better car and completed all necessary paperwork in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. We could not have asked for better service when renting and returning the car.

We arrived at the airport. Phoned the pick-up bus phone number to only hear a recorded msg. The sixt website stated the closing time of the office was 545pm. We ended up getting a taxi to the office arriving 430pm. The place was closed. We had to get a taxi to our hotel on the other side of town. I phoned another few times to no answer. I phoned the office the next morning and found sixt didn't have a booking for us! Fortunately East Coast car rentals made a car available for us stating that they are breaking ties with sixt car rentals in the new year as this happens frequently
