efficient staff, excellent breakfast und dinner we booked 4 twin rooms not double rooms
it was good even though i thought , it was expensive. it was not made clear during booking that price goes up on weekdays breakfast was same everyday
Very nice hotel in City Bowl Breakfast for a child was extra ZAR 75 although he hardly ate anything.
I was given a room which was very small. Hardly any space to keep the luggage. There were problems in the bathroom.Wash basin was blocked, There was a leak.Only on last day of my stay I was given an another room
location, service, food
Very friedly staff. The upgraded rooms are well appointed. City hotel, good for business. Excellent breakfast and room service
Great location, great service and free wi-fi througoht the hotel. Nothing.
The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was good. Service excellent. Good value for money. The WiFi in the room was down the entire time. Hotel did, however, make internet available in common room available. Bathroom satisfactory, but detail to cleaning would be helpful (grouting and shower areas).
Sense of security Slow lifts.
Hotel has a modern decor and is clean. Breakfast is good and wifi worked well in the room. Price was reasonable for the quality. Bed was comfortable. The room was tiny but maybe I had a special price and got the small room. The room was prepay and I had to do a special credit card form (or wire transfer) to pay in advance.
Stunning building and proximity to many attractions in Cape Town, including Company Gardens, Parliament, St. George's Cathedral, Greenmarket Square, etc. Apartment-style is very suitable for family travel. En-suite bathrooms in each of the 2 bedrooms is very convenient and also private enough for the adults, as both were well separated. Guest Loo - what a luxury to have, and the hotel made no hassle of guests in the apartment with you. Staff were accommodating and kind. The state of cleanliness left much to be desired. You have all these great facilities, but when you travelling with small children, you do not want them rolling around on scuffed floors and dirty carpets, nor touching dirty chairs, etc. Throw-up from a previous stay was regurgitated by one of the many basins in the apartment, and never used again. That was disappointing. They do need some assistance with housekeeping, but I found that to be a problem in restaurants as well in Cape Town. Hope that it gets better. The facilities in this apartment do make up for the lack of attention to details, though.
Very comfortable with gym facilities The shower in the studio apartment W503 messes on the floor when taking a shower.
We had a huge flat with an excellent view an the table mountain. Very well situated and good price ( we were there in august 2010).
Apartment with kitchen Everything nearby shuts down early, not the most inviting area to walk around after dark
Rooms are beautiful with fantastic views. Gym access was great. WiFi was TERRIBLE!!!! If you need reliable internet access, this is not the place, the signal is poor, access is difficult and limited. If this was corrected, Madela Rhodes would be a superb hotel.
The friendly disposition of staff, especially Thembi and Zanele in restaurant. Mary from housekeeping none
Hotel was excellent, staff were very friendly an helpfull.Facillities were superb.Had a great time at the hotel
very comfortable child friendly had to use two lifts to get to breakfast
Apartment hotel room was large and fully equipped for extended stays and had an excellent location close to eateries and clubs and added plus a great view of Table Mountain.
The location was very good and the rooms themselves were really nice. It felt like a spacious 1 bedroom/studio apartment and it was awesome to have a kitchen (although we intended to use it we didn't, the restaurants are great and affordable) The WIFI connection is very slow. This seems to be an issue in South Africa at times, but it was incredibly bad at times. It would take several minutes just to load e-mail. Also, there was no fitness center there. We were given cards to go to a local gym around the corner, we did that one day and then one of the security staff told me they had made a mistake and we weren't allowed. I asked other members at the front desk later, they had no idea of this policy change. In all, I was disappointed there was no fitness center there, felt a little misleading.
Very convenient central location for sightseeing and shopping. Well equipped rooms - loads of space and comfortable furnishings. Good choice of places to eat nearby. Extremely helpful and courteous staff ... after check-out, we requested somewhere to store/re-pack luggage and to shower and change before a late evening flight, and we were kindly allowed this facility at no extra charge. Nothing.
Superb quality accommodation in an ideal central location in Cape Town
Helpful staff Noise ++++++ - the hotel is located above a nightclub, surrounded by bars and opposite a backpackers on the only party street in capetown. Do not stay here unless you intend to party and be the last in bed each night a sunrise!
After having stayed at all category og hotels for 30 years; this is the most pleasant receprion staf ever. A bit noice from the street, bars and trafic. Hope some will be better after consruction work is finished
The hotel is well decorated but dirty, hairs in the bath etc. The location is shocking, it's extremely noisy (Sunday night clubs go till after 4am). We left after 1 night as we had no sleep, and were very disappointed with the hotel and how our problems were dealt with. Everything
Great location, great design, amazing rooms.....in other words: perfect! Breakfast is poor....you don't understand if the "breakfast included in room price" means continental breakfast or all inclusive, since the staff is handing a menu with prices.....another thing, we came to have breakfast an hour before the official breakfast end time and there was almost no food available....
In trying to create a balance on all the above points, lack of sleep can lead to murder..... I loved every thing about the hotel, except the unassuming, hidden noise factor that takes over from 11pm -4am every day. Please sound proof the window area.
Contemporary style and location right in the centre. Breakfast is just superb with a special for their yogourt and cooked plates. Staff utterly friendly and accomodating. Cleaning ladies very helpfull. Being located on Long St with Bars and Restos everywhere, it is pretty noisy at night. However on the 5th floor it gets fine. Otherwise room was beautiful and overall hotel is great.
Nice room and nice service A little bit noisy : the windows are too thin to block all the noise from Long Street which is noisy street at night
The room (602) was absolutely beautiful with the most stunning view of Table Mountain. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The garage parking included in the price, was much appreciated and an added bonus when you compare to other hotels parking situations. windows urgently need a wash (on a more regular basis at least) and the shower door did not work (room 602) - a fault from the installers - which the hotel staff should have picked up on a walk around when building was finished. road was very noisy.
Perfect Hotel, good location. Situated on a very loud street where security is an issue. Surroundings (aka streets) are not well maintained. Be careful at night.
Great view to Table mountain from the hotel room. What a way to wake up!A bit noisy from the street, but with earplugs, you won't notice.Restaurants, shops, museums etc in the neigbourhood.
Proximity to city centre and the V+A Waterfront, etc etc. No issues
Near to the city centre and shopping.
Modern and stylish hotel. The best part of the hotel is the reception staff, extremely helpful and very friendly. They gave us good advice on day trips to Cape Point and Stellenbosch. The location is excellent, nearby a good choice of quality restaurants, Greenmarket, Long Street and the bus stop of the red/blue sightseeing bus. Breakfast is good. The room is good, but could have more closet space, especially for a longer stay. The bathroom is good, but could have more towel racks. Wifi is expensive and sometimes not working.
The hotel is conveniently located from shopping area and for takinf the hop On Hop off bus. The staff were very helpful. No porter facility. More variety for the breakfast and if the time for serving breakfast could be extended for until 1100hrs. they forgot to send a taxi for pick up at the airport.
When I got to the Hotel there was no record of the reservation that your company had made for me. Luckily they had rooms available which I needed after flying and sitting for 30 hours.
The helpfulness of the staff and the quality of the room we stayed in Trying to find it when arriving by car. It is very difficult to find especialy as to get to it you have to drive up a street marked no entry! Guests should be warned about this as trying to get to the hotel resulted in a very frustrating and stressful hour driving in central Cape Town
Very near to our business partners.
Central location, great for walking ever where Hotel heating system in room was hard to work.room was cold even after we had someone check it out
Safety of the place TV screans are too small
The staff was very friendly and helpfull! Room was impecable and clean! Will definitely recommend it to any traveller!
The fact that it was very reasonably priced right in the middle of Capetown and within easy access to the Waterfront. Loved the Jazz night too. Nothing
The staff was very nice and helpful, in addition to offering a welcome drink on the balcony facing Long St, they took our clothes to the dry-cleaner and stored it in their office for a week (while we were gone doing the Garden Route). They also changed our rooms so that we got to see a couple of the fab rooms in the hotel.
The unique style and friendliness of staff.
cheap and clean no
Location was excellent- staff friendly and helpfull- especially when we locked our valuables in the safe and couldn't get it open again! Bedspread was a bit dirty- no towel racks in bathrooms.
Being in Cape Town Rooms not clean. First room- old blood on sheets, second room, cushions on bed have not been washed, full of food& ..... No place to do makeup/ hair. only one plug socket per room. No cupboard to hang clothes in.Hotel staff was incompetent; No hot water when the hotel was fully booked. Hotel management thought we were ridiculous when we complained. Parking not private as advertised. Had to park our car at the Chris Barnardt Hospital 4 blocks away and paid. Anyone considering this hotel should immediately reconsider unless you like dirty, unpractical, low budget accommodation where you get treated like an idiot when complaining: and to add to that you need to walk 4 blocks from your parking to room afraid you might be mugged.
Great concept, fantastic staff with good location. Facilities very good and art work fantastic.
The Concierge went out of his way to help us park and deal with our luggage
The location is excellent and the room was quite nice. I loved the shower. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay at the Cape Diamond again. The room door did not lock automatically so you had to manually lock the door each time you left. Other than that everything was great.
friendly staff, great location, large room, good breakfast Pattat restaurant food not quite as we expected, ate there first night as tired and hungry, but not very good
The staff were very friendly and tried to be helpful. The restaurant was also OK and was good value. The room was very dated, and the bed covers were not overly clean, the linen was clean. The location of the hotel was not ideal if you wanted to walk out at night, you would not be safe.
Staff was very friendly, the fact that booking.com offered a 'winter special' rate, which I did not receive at the hotel. (admittedly I did not bother to fight for it, as even the standard price was reasonably low)
I cannot praise this hotel enough. The staff were amazing. When we arrived there was an issue with our booking but they sorted everything out for us perfectly and couldn't do enough for us. They were all so friendly as well. The rooms were great - we stayed there twice on the trip and once our room had a fantastic bath and the other a shower so I think you should request which you prefer. It's also right in the city centre and a 5 min walk to Long Street. When we go back to Cape Town we are definetly going to stay there again. We loved it!!!
I found the overall stay at the hotel to very pleasant. non what so ever.
The staff are nice.
There was a leak - so they gave us an apartment for the same price! yay! ;0)
location was convenient. we didn't really use the facilities other than the bedroom there was confusion over a change to our booking and we were then given a room on 9th floor with a double bed when we had specifically requested twin beds; the lift stops at 8th and it was really was not acceptable to expect guests to carry luggage up another flight of stairs. Having done so, the room was excellent but we still had to ask for it to be changed due to the beds. The hotel did move all of our luggage while we were out - which is good. The 9th floor room seems to be a "penthouse" but the flight of stairs had electrical panels that made it feel like service stairs not what you'd expect leading to guest accommodation.
Due to a water leak being repaired, the room I had booked was not available, so the hotel gave me an upgrade at no extra charge. The room was comfortable and ideally located for my purposes. Internet access good, but the charge a little on the high side ~ free internet access as part of the package would have been preferable.
