I got there and they told me they had noncars for me because they ran out of them. So basically he told me to go frog myself and get for a car somewhere else. He was not going to help me. The requested car, automatic, was not available. The wait to pick up the car was long. The car was dirty and nearly empty of fuel. The rental car company insisted we but insurance even though I told them I had bought insurance separately. Drop-off was smooth and quick.Reviewed 11 Aug 2026

The deposit turned out to be 300 % higher than expected. Had to purchase a much more expensive insurance just so I could avoid the ridiculously high deposit of 80.000 dollars for a Skoda Kamiq. What a jokeReviewed 22 Jul 2026

Absolutely horrible experience. A classical bait and switch operation. Sleazy to the core. It was " either you will pay four time as much as we advertised and agreed to charge, or we will not rent you a car", specifically targeting customers that didn't buy third party insurance through them. I ended up taking a taxi and renting a car next day from a competitor without any problems. Avis at Sarajevo airport is a disgrace to the Avis name. The man behind the counter had a name tag that said his name was Ermin Kovacevic, in case that Avis wants to do something to clean up the cesspool that is Avis Sarajevo airport office. I chose to rent with Avis exactly because I wanted to avoid situations like this, thinking that a well established company would have high standards and good customer service. Nope, I got exactly the opposite. Avoid Avis Sarajevo airport like a plague!Reviewed 25 Feb 2026
