At reservation pricing was attractive

Cons:

Re-booking confirmation was not found by Buget/Avis in SYD. Avis rep then hijacked rental and I ended up paying TWICE the quoted rate online from Kayak. Avis//Budget rep also claimed there was no drop off station in the Flinders area (specifically Frankston, but there is). Complete RIPOFF from SYD Int'l Budget/Avis.

Pros:

Great car except for seat belt problem and fact that Hertz forgot to install car seat that we requested in writing and verbally

Cons:

So we had to return to pick-up location for car seat. Then when we removed car seat to adjust straps for our four year old we could not get he seat belt to ratchet and lock properly to secure car seat, so we had to return to pick-up location a second time(!) for a service person to help with their tricks for getting this seatbelt to work! Basically it cost us two full hours before leaving on a busy holiday weekend.

Pros:

The pickup/dropoff went well, especially the help when we returned the car. Car was very comfortable, clean, drove well, and we had no problems.

Cons:

When we picked up the car, I asked for a map - especially of how to get to the motorway in Sydney. Was told they didn't have any maps. We used our cell gps, but when you go through tunnels service gets dropped (duh) making it a bit stressful about what turn might be next. I was surprised (frustrated) that even a city map was not available in paper form (come on, Hertz!). Next problem was discovered when we got home and I was paying my credit card bills. When my reservation was made, Hertz charged my credit card one day rental costs. But the system never reflected this when renting or returning the car, so I was charged the full amount when dropped off. This is NOT the fault of the return agent, but the Hertz system. I have since sent an email to Hertz and 2 days later still no reply. If this gets resolved, then my rating might go up - but if it takes more work on my part to get resolved, then rating may actually go down. Also, I thought the charge to drop off at a different city was a bit steep - especially since it seemed like more than twice the actual rental cost.

absolutely terrible. I don't know whether they have actual humans working for them tbh because you can spend over 30 minutes on the phone, trying all 3 phone numbers they provide you with with your reservation , and no one will answer the phone. Instead, you will get sent insane when the same 4 options come back for you to choose from when you select any option and no one answers the phone. Try emailing? You will receive an automated response in German! Don't bother wasting your time and being driven to brink of utter frustration and go with another company

At pick up our voucher stated the wrong address so we lost half an hour with the taxi to find the wright one At drop off at the location near the airport the location was closed and no shuttle bus before 7:30 we were said by a neighborg Our plane was at 8:00h so we had to leave the car and pay a taxi

Pros:

The paperwork etc was handled pretty efficiently

Cons:

1. Pick up location was changed but address wasn't communicated to us. Reminder mail from kayak received a day before with the same old address. 2. We arrived to find the 151 William Street, Sydney location locked and one small notice stuck to it informing us that the office had relocated. 3. Tried calling their telephone numbers frantically but got no reply. 4. Went to the relocated office address and found no signs etc so could not locate the office again.. Getting very desperate by now and felt I had been scammed! 5. Luckily saw a Sixt employee on the street in a yellow jacket... Approached him and told our issues. His response was we were not the first to have such issues and definitely not the last... Office had relocated over the weekend in what appears to be with very little planning. 6. He graciously left what he was doing to take us to the relocated office. Overall a very pathetic experience booking via Kayak and priceline!

Pros:

Car was OK, price was good. we were the only ones in the branch so the process was relatively fast

Cons:

the location of the return is not the branch location and its almost impossible to find, took us 40 min to try and get there with all available navigation software with no luck, at the end, i just drove to the branch and wanted to leave it there and then they explained us how to get to the return place. When you take the car they check every scratch which is not a good sign, once they took the car out from the branch, we found more than handful scratches/dents in the car that were "invisible" due to the lights in the branch. When we finally returned it, it took them 15 min to go over the car to validate we did not add any new scratches/dents, good for us we noticed all before we left.

Pros:

We hired two different cars in a month period with Sixt (in two different cities) and this is for the second hire. Staff were friendly and did a thorough review of the car before we took it away

Cons:

Compared to the first car we hired, it wasn't a very economical car in terms of petrol - it burned through fuel incredibly quickly, and wasn't very efficient in changing gears (an automatic) which didn't help matters. Considering the other car we used was smaller, it was a lot more efficient, so I wonder whether it needed a service. We were also told to call the team when we dropped off the car so they could inspect it, but the phone was constantly engaged, so we had to walk to the other office to get someone. No one was on the phone, and it was really quiet, so not sure why the number didn't work. Luckily, it didn't cause an issue.

customer service person was in training so it took a lot longer, would have been better for a senior person to work with him to get it done faster. Manager was a bit blunt and rude, as a one-way fee was added at the counter and not when we made the reservation, which is why we chose dollar instead of another company. we probably would've went with another company closer if they would've just been up front with the fees. The manger just said "well you can take it or not take the car". a bit rude.
