free internet, good in-room coffee maker. Close proximity to metro, restaurants, cafes, department stores and shops
the proximity to shopping, restaurants and transport. Also liked the view from room - comfort of room - range of restaurants in hotel was great - service was friendly and prompt - felt very welcomed - especially as our knowledge of the language was limited - liked the ambience - international Cannot think of a thing we didn't like
The location was amazing but that's about it Rooms very outdated, very pretentious staff, everything that has to do with this hotel is ridiculously overpriced! We to check out one hour later than planned after a 6 night stay and they asked us to pay a fee... very disappointing
Breakfast options are good. The South wing room bathroom had a slight sewer odor at times.
Great location near the Shinjuku train station. Service was excellent (although perhaps average for Japan). Pillows not so comfortable - would have liked a selection of hard/soft (therefore the OK rating on comfort). Room A/C worked very well (I like to sleep in a cold room). Great view of Mt. Fuji and Tokyo government buildings. I prefer the Hyatt Regency Shinjuku when the cost is reasonable but this time it was considerably higher. Have stayed at Keio plaza about 5 times and at Hyatt about 20 times.
Location The room and the hotel are not so modern
Comfortable and convenient. Everything is fine.
The only good thing about Keio Plaza Hotel that they have a shuttle bus line direct to Disney Resort, but need reservation 1 month earlier before the date. The front desk for check-in and check-out really really really not friendly (especially to foreigner), no smile at all and very bad in english. Very old hotel, we've paid for the premier room (recently furbished they said) but still looks old, they're only put more lighting inside the room and LED TV. Better stay at International Brand Hotel.
Close to Shinjuku station. Fun restaurants nearby. Waited on average 10 minutes for elevators, which were full and stopped almost every floor. No seating in lobby. Restaurants in hotel very overpriced. Would not stay there agin.
Small but cozy room. Perfect location.
Price was slightly below the competition, but in retrospect, I would've gladly paid more for a much better stay. Close to 7-11 and some fun areas in Shinjuky. I've traveled to Tokyo for 3 straight years. This hotel is the worst by far. Even though it's advertised as a 4-star hotel, it is NOT a 4-star hotel. Here's what I think: Very small room, even for Tokyo standard. There were a few groups of rowdy tourists, and I can tell that the concierge was exhausted by them, and was not very friendly when she was helping me out. Even though it's in Shinjuku, location is not that good. It's right next to a bunch of love hotels and far from the main Shinjuku station. Overall, a big disappointment for me.
Good location in Shinjuku within walking distance of major shops, restaurants and public transportation. Hotel looks new and has nice lobby, breakfast area, and rooftop lounge. Bed was very comfy. Room is tiny but not a complete surprise in Tokyo. However, there were several small things that could have been done to make the space more useful such as more clothes hangers, a shelf over clothing rod, and towel hooks in the bath to name a few.
the location is good, very clean hotel the shuttle bus services is very helpful No comlpains
huge 'n not cosy
the huge comfortable bedrooms, and the excellent staff.
Second time to stay there. First time was given a free upgrade (to an Executive Room) as there were no single rooms available. This time no upgrade but the room was almost as good. The most spacious rooms I've had in my trips in Japan. Good views, good for business district and short walk to main station/shops. The area is a bit of a quieter and a bit of a breather from the crowds/bright lights of the area around the main station. The bathroom could do with being refitted to be more modern and contemporary.
The moment we arrived, we were greeted by a posh and luxurious hotel lobby. There's no doubt about it, the hotel is beautiful. The room is even more so. It is spacious, has very modern furnishing and a very unique window that is able to transform itself to look like a Japanese sliding door. The hotel shuttle to Shinjuku Station is most useful. It would be great if the hotel shuttle operates abit longer. It stops at about 9.50pm. Guests that spend late nights out would benefit if the shuttle could extend its operation hours till midnight. It would also be great if the hotel has transportation arrangemen for Tokyo Disney Resort like some Shinjuku hotels that I know.
Extremely polite and helpful staff. Quiet location, very close to Tokyo Metro station. Wifi was expensive and had to be renewed every 24hrs.
it is strategically located, and its value for money is an added value. i enjoy the luxuriness of the hotel and its facilities.the staff is very helpful and courteous
i like the friendly and helpful staff staff. however on the nite of 30th we came back very late and accidentally left our two strollers outside the room. when we checked the next morning the staff at the concierge was not so pleased with our explanation and sort of sternly reminding us not to repeat the same event again. but overall it was a pleasurable experience there.
Free upgrade to Executive Room with lounge access. Our request for crib, late check out and extra amenities catered for. The lounge pre dinner drinks and Breakfast following morning was superb. Minor issue. Kettle took forever to boil
First, let me start with the location. I will say it is friendly for all ages 18 and up. I include even seniors because the location really does have it all! However, it is really close and somewhat in the middle of their redlight district and Although I know this can sound problematic or even too crazy, it really isnt because all of it is kept away from the streets. You only know what the places are based on the wording of the advertisement outside such as "thai special massage." All funny though even for us as a married couple. You are only two blocks (5min walk if you are slow and not from the city like we were) from the Shinjuku train station and this was solid gold for us to get around even with our luggage because in case you have not heard, Taxis are pricey!! Another great thing about the location is the food! We are foodies and we love bargains and high end so we can try it all!!! I also do not eat fish and my husband loves his sushi and again, they have it all! From 1,000 yen lunches to nice steak dinners in which we spent up to 9,000 yen but we also ordered a couple rounds of beer and limited this kind of spending to only every other night. Other than that they have reasonable 3,000 yen dinners for two and we even had steak tacos at this rate!! As for the staff, they answered all the million questions we had even when it was reallllly busy during check in hours. They were all very patient! Our package did not include breakfast but the hotel is located in front of a family mart and across the street from a 7-11 (with an ATM) and in case you did not hear in places like reddit, some people come here for food from these places alone! We usually picked up sandwiches or hotcase items with drinks for under 1,000yen in total for two of us! And went about our day. The hotel people clean the room everyday, restock toilettries in the bathrooms daily, and leave you water bottles daily as well as fresh towels. Very very clean people and yes you might be culture shocked to learn the square footage is veryyyy small but two of us fit just fine and comfortably and come on, if you are going to japan do your research! Anywhere you stay will have the same issue with squarefootage because this country has one of the most expensive realstate value, meaning this culture often downsizes in space because larger does not neccesarily mean better. I wish there were more i could say and although I could it really means you should choose APA at Kabukichu! I have nothing I could possibly complain about. I mean wour airplane landed 6 hrs ago and I am already leaving a review.
Best in Class Service, ambience, Decor, Views and Iconic reputations. $40 hamburger in the lounge upstairs. It was delicsious, but wow
Great views from room, lots of space in the Park Deluxe room, very good service. The New York Bar on the 52nd has the best view and great jazz nights our rate did not include breakfast..
A nice hotel living up to luxury billing Having to pay to use leisure facilities and cost of restaurants is too high
I like that the location it is excellent and its to easy to registration and ubication I will like that the hotel have red wii fii because de internet acces is poor, and the check in time i think that it is too late al 2 00 pm
The location is great and the price is very affordable. There are multiple convenience shops nearby for quick snacks or forgotten items. The tub is very deep and offers a relaxing soak with very hot water and good water pressure. Also the included cable lineup is more robust than many hotels. A couple of smart features for working with such small rooms. I like the ledge of the window for adding space and the included large hand mirror in the room. The rooms are so hot. Even in winter. And it felt like every morning the room would get extra hot and forced me out in a heated panic. It would be different if the windows opened but mine did not. It was insufferable at times making the small size (even in the double room) seem even smaller. Also every morning the cleaning staff would take hours to complete a room. I was often working around their schedule and felt I couldn't be in the room between 10:00-13:00. It's also a very crowded hotel and getting an elevator at certain times of day was frustrating. I stayed here for over a week where I'd suggest 3 nights be the max.
The location is not that really that convenient except if you take the airport limousine to the airport, otherwisem, it is a long walk from the hotel to the station, especially when you have to toll the luggage.
know location and ease of movement around Shinjuku My room was just off the elevators. And the door jams showed lots of light on the sides and the bottom of the door. Used towels on the bottom to eliminate some but not all....
Good location for shopping at Shinjuku Room price did not include breakfast
the airport bus stops at the door step the rudeness of the staff
very hard bed
Good location, fair price, good staff Very small room
This hotel location is very good - really near the Shinjuku Station, one of the biggest point of communications in Tokyo. Between Shinjuku Station and Shinjuku Washington Hotel is a tunnel Internet wasn't by wi-fi. It's only with cabel
- Cleanliness - Spacious Space - Amenities - Friendly Staff - Service - Shuttle to Shinjuku Station - A bit far from Shinjuku Station by walking - Underground (Metro) does not have full escalator (a bit difficult if carry lots of stuff)
Location was good near Shinkuku station (one one the biggest) The hotel has a gymn and a pool but you have to pay 2,100.00 yens (US$ 26.00) / person / day. The staff speaks poor english. Check out at 11h00am so not good if you have a late flight (30% of the daily rate to stay to 03h00 pm).
Staff is extremely helpful with everything . I have requested to make a reservation at many famous restaurants and the concierge staff did a very professional job securing a seat for me . They have planned everything for me better than I have planned by myself .
Tokyo area was greate.
Just about everything was as expected. Only complaint was that room was too warm (March stay) we couldn't get the air conditioner to cool the room adequately and couldn't open the windows to cool it down to an acceptable level.
This hotel cannot be beat for location and value. There are nicer and/or cheaper hotels in Shinjuku but I will be staying at the prince from now on.
The stall was really helpful and was the only hotel that I stayed in Japan that provided soft pillows... This hotel was the most expense one that I stayed in Japan, around US$185,00 and for that price I was expecting a much better room. The bathroom was disgusting with visible mold all around probably because the exhaust fan wasn't efficient enough to keep the moist out of it.. The toilet bowl underneath the seat was all black mold... The shower walls is getting yellowish probably because no scrubbing it's been done.. I saw a single room keeper guy cleaning the whole building floor when I got there but he was cleaning alone at least 18 rooms in that floor as I noticed the rooms doors was all wide open and he was running between those rooms with vaccum and cleaning supplies and etc... The blocks/area around of this hotel have lots of "massage" business places and lots of guys hanging around the walkway corners to offer girls to do a "special" job if you interesting... Definitely not a family hotel to stay ! Few blocks away from the opposite side of the Shinjuku Train Station I stayed at Sun Route Hotel of Shinjuku that was much much better location in the area and a family hotel with quality and breakfast include for under US$120,00. Hope this review helps lots of visitors.
Great location, close to the night life and train station
Hundred Stay was a great value, with the weekly rate plan & offering rooms with a kitchenette. The location was very good for either business or tourist travelers -it's close to transport, shops & lots of restaurants. We had a great experience, the staff were very helpful & room very comfortable - I would definitely stay there again. They also have a great book/dvd library and plenty of English language brochures for tourists, plus guides for the room features, like how to use the tv, the temperature controls, etc. very useful! The carpets were badly stained in the room & hallways, which was unfortunate, but a very minor issue. Also the bathtub/shower was very slippery, so might be problematic for a guest with disabilities.
Very clean room and bathroom. Japanese style bathroom which is quite convenient. Room was small but functional. Check-in was easy and hotel relaxed. Breakfast was quite basic. Air conditioning instructions only in Japanese. Not very central in Shinjuku area but close to good transport links.
Friendly Staff Great Service Great Location Great View from Room
Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was plenty big (I'm 6'2"). Price couldn't be beat. About a 15 minute walk from Shinjuku station (take exit near new BusTa). As with most rooms in Japan, it was small. Not even enough floor space to open my suitcase. That was to be expected.
compared to other hotels in main tokyo areas, it's a decent value. All rooms are tiny there, and tend to be expensive. This one was clean and quiet and 10 minutes if you walk fast from Shinjuku station (15 if you walk slow). Don't be deceived as I was by proximity to Shinjuku Gyoenmae station. Most of the places you are going as a tourist are off the Shinjuku station. Tiny pillow which gave me the worst allergies of my life. Bed can only be entered from one side, so couples may be inconvenienced. Room was not serviced one day so had to go down and get towels. Have to put key in slot for electricity and of course I forgot it there one day.
Very near to subway station. Very clean too
Great spacious room well located with a modern touch (new furnitures)
The room was cozily small. Enjoyed the value of the price as well as the helpful staff.
Very conveniently located right at a subway stop and very close to Shinjinku and the Golden Gai. Hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly. There is a good breakfast buffet that was not very expensive and very convenient. We decided to add a night on our way back after being in kyoto for a few days and decided to stay here. Be ready for small rooms, but I think this is normal for in the city. We really liked the hotel.
The room size is of the right size, which give luxury feeling. It is not really small as describe by others. We cannot control or off the bright light in the room at bedtime, which causes discomfort.
Location, it is adjacent to a subway exit. Literally everything but the location. It is a 2-1/2-star facility with delusions of adequacy.
It's a great location by the Higashi-Shinjuku train station. Staff is very nice and very clean. Mattresses are hard to sleep on.
My experience here was excellent. The staff was awesome, friendly, efficient, professional in every way. The rooms were quite clean. Mine might have been a tad small for a couple, but for just myself it was fine. It is located about 15 steps away from exit B@ of Higashi Shinjuku station on the F line of Tokyo train system. The price is fair and I would highly recommend it and will stay again myself when I return to Tokyo. The F line is a minor hassle compared to other lines of the train system, but this is a very minor inconvenience that only came in to plahy once or twice in my week in Tokyo.
All of the toiletry items are there in case you forget. If you take subway it's just around the corner. However if you take Jr. Lines it will be a 15 minute walk to hotel. Resturant downstairs with breakfast coupon from hotel is a great breakfast buffet and a great way to start your day. Golden gai is only 9 minutes away. Room was very dusty and turned on air filter for a better nights sleep but pillows were very hard it made getting a good nights sleep very difficult between sneezing and getting comfortable.
The hotel is clean, safe and convenient. There is no Wi Fi for Internet.
it's a fairly new hotel with modern facilities, clean, comfy and the staffs speak english. although the room is not that big but enough for 2 with moderate suitcases. the location is strategic with 2 lines of subway stations very nearby, a lot of 24/7 mini-market - even 1 supa - and 24/7 McD, gyudon and other eateries at the neighborhood. and the hotel has coin-laundry which really handy. just a few suggestions: 1. for a long stay they could offer a lower rate. 2. provide a detailed city map. 3. perhaps they can add more coin-laundry machines.
Location is very good (if not accompanied by young children or teenagers).new furniture, excellent room amenities, every thing you need is there. Very clean. Toilet is brilliant (shataf and bidet). I would rate it as excellent 3 stars hotel according to European standers Very small rooms 17 sqs meters. Good for young couple with 2 small bags! Poor breakfast
Fine location on Shinjuku area, friendly and english-speaking staff, free lan-cable internet and nice breakfast (japanese and western style)
The hotel was very clean and the location was very good for someone who is interested in seeing the middle class Japanese lifestyle. The breakfast menu could be more international, it's too Japanese. The complimentary bottled water should be replaced every day.
Nice location but that's about it Never seen Japanese worker has no smile and unwilling to cooperate
There is nothing to dislike. Very clean and well kept. Nice breakfast and reasonable price for Tokyo. The rooms are somewhat smallish but this is to be expected for Tokyo and the price
Room was small just like any other hotels in Tokyo / Japan but the bathroom was surprisingly spacious with a separate bath area and bathtub. The hotel is clean and new and staff spoke reasonable amount of english. There is a computer for guests to access internet in the lobby which is great. The bedroom has barely enough space for us to walk, let alone our luggages. The double bed was too small for the 2 of us (mind you, we are just 2 average sized asian). The location is a distance away from Shinjuku station (15mins walk). We had to drag our luggages across the busy streets to arrive at the hotel after alighting at Shinjuku station in the airport limousine bus which we had to repeat when we head back. This is the biggest problem we had of the hotel.
The location in Shinjuku is excellent you can walk to the Shinjuku station or get a 5 min cab ride. Tokyo is an incredible city but the areas are quite spread out so you need access to the JR or subway so that you can get around quickly. like most Tokyo hotels at this price the rooms are pretty small
Impressed by not only being allowed to be ecologically minded but being recompensed. If you choose not to have your room serviced you got back 500¥ per day up to 2days permitted. Other hotels could learn from this
Good central location, right in the middle of Shinjuku, easy to find and to reach by public transport. Very clean. Helpful staff. Small room, big bathroom (the bathroom is as big as the room itself!!)
The location, very close to the Shjinjuku Station. The room was quite small. The only window in the room was fixed with no possibility to open it (the personnel justified it saying that it was due to security reason). Due to this, it was very uncomfortable to stay in the room after a shower for the limited space available and condensed steam on the window, meaning... shower only in the morning and then go. Wi-fi network available only in the lobby and always very very slow.
all the staff were relly helpful and friendly check- in too late
Easy access to the essential street buzz of Shinjuku Breakfast isn't too good. Better eat your breakfast outside.
Massive room for Tokyo standards with a lovely large washroom. Excellent staff service. Laundromat in first floor was appreciated as we were on a 6 week trip. No
Very cool room clean n enough space just the location not ideal Location walking to subway ok but station is at least one transfer from most destination
Nice ambience , clean ,comfortable, quite near to Shinjuku , fast food , restaurants at doorstep of hotel Rate is less competitive It's quite steep
The rate is cheaper than similar hotels in the neighborhood and breakfast is complimentary.
Well located and comunicated. Very clean. Little rooms (as usual in Japan) but confortable. Would stay here again.
Best of it all, the location and the general appearance. Clean, quiet, nice staff and close to a konbi market.Guest rooms are fair in space. Microwace oven and a brand new washing machine. Just to mention something, lets say there was no ofuro, wich may not be necessary for most people, but i think it is one of the nicest things before going to sleep.
Convience to subway and did not cost too much considering it was Tokyo. Bathroom was very good. The bathtub was large. We had a city view also. The pillows on bed were hard and small. Room was very efficient but very tight for two people,
