Pros: The place smells wonderful, from the floral smell that hits at the door, the wonderful food smells in the elevator to the clean room smell, this is a beautiful place to stay. The view of the city is lovely, and the room good sized. We have the option of luxurious bath tub or rain type shower. There are two sinks, and the bed is of course most comfortable with light control buttons on the nightstand. The toilet is automatic, and I do believe the seats are heated somehow. The staff is attentive and courteous. Location is close to trendy restaurants and shopping.
Cons: I wish we had time to experience the spa services and pool area, but we had to dash. The price was expensive, to be expected for the luxury, but still, expensive.

Pros: Modern, clean and efficient. Good location and public transportation, such as the MRT Subway, is just a few steps away.
Cons: The main restaurant on the 2nd floor offers an excellent buffet breakfast with great international food variety ; however, the staff needs to be more pro-active to ensure an efficient service. On several occasions there were no tables available, not because they were occupied by other guests but because they were not clean. The waiters, seems to be waiting for something to happen because some of them are not pro-active enough, seems they are waiting for instructions, or maybe they prefer to remain in their "comfort zone".

Cons: AC & Heater is very noisy (it won't allow you to sleep at night), Bathroom has see through window so no privacy from the room, beds are very hard, not enough plugs for computers, iPhones, iPads, etc.

Pros: The hotel is modern and almost perfectly located in the Jing'An district of Shanghai. It is a 5 min walk to the Subway station and around the corner from a number of great eateries both Chinese and Western. Travel time to places like the Bund/Concessions and Financial District are less than 30 mins by Taxi even less by Subway. Most of the staff speak some English which was not always the case in other 5-star hotels in China. Concierge was well informed and more helpful than the average as well. Another reviewer mentioned that they didn't like the hard beds. I like the firm, yet comfortable mattresses they have.
Cons: All 5-star hotels in China provide you with two bottles of drinking water per day. Swissotel's bottles were actually half-bottles. This is really nit-picking but I couldn't think of anything else I didn't like!

Pros: The location is great and they have English-speaking staff. The Hotel itself is very comfortable and the mini-bar is refilled everyday and Free (coke & sprite, water and cookies). The Restaurant of the Hotel, in the 4th floor has a wonderful view and good food. I went for breakfast and lunch, the prices are ok and the food is safe and tasty. Pros: Staff was responsive and tries to help.
Cons: It appears that more female staff are recently hired, which is great. More materials need to be provided to them to help them know what tourists generally ask about. One thing I noticed about mainland Chinese is that that they do not give details but only a generalized answers. The more experienced staff are okay. But the newer staff should be told to be more specific because world travelers are not stupid. The details are what tourists want. Also, give the young female staff encouragements rather than criticisms. And have the experienced staff, who seems to be mostly males, to give the female staff a chance to help tourists - so don't take over but assist on the side.

Pros: The hotel is located just adjacent to the Yu Garden, ah historic and picturesque neighborhood the recalls the Shanghai of yesteryear. It is fascinating to walk through the little lanes and see the ancient buildings. The Yu Garden is a real gem as well. The hotel is located just above the Yu Garden subway station and could not be more convenient for getting around the city. The hotel is clean and modern. The staff was wonderful. The executive lounge had great food and a terrific view. Our room was large and comfortable. All in all this is my favorite hotel in Shanghai.

Pros: Staff from front desk, club lounge, restaurant, operators, and housekeeping needs to speak better English. The English of the staff is compared to an Elementary student.
Cons: No English communication skills. We asked fo freeze our bag for our baby milk and they failed to freeze the bag causing for my baby's mom's milk to spoil. When checking into the hotel, we were told 1/2 hour until room ready and proceed to the club floor. It took over 1 1/2 hours and the room was still not ready. Pros: Beware Hotel is in great location. The pros end about there. Yes its true, the hotel is very near the main walking Street. However, you're better off sleeping on said street. We checked in for a total of 15 mins. That was enough time needed. Our "suite", and I use the term liberally, resembled the steerage room on an old ship; small, dank, and full of condoms. The condoms were on a convenience store style display, I'm assuming to give you a choice to use on whatever hooker youre bringing back - assuming theyre willing to set foot in Such a place. The "king" bed fit 1 small child or 1\3 adult. Rooms are cleaned after 1 pm based on our trashed room that we checked into. One would hope that the maids use a flame thrower. Room was roughly the size of a prison cell. However, room was not as nice as previous point. Beware of pickpockets: not nessessarily on the street, but on the elevator - they have ample time to rob you, since it stops on every floor for no apparent reason... We attempted to voice our concerns to the front desk who merely offered to send the maids to our cell block. They attempted to pursuaid us that all king beds are 5ft x 5ft and that rooms with windows are "deluxe" suites and can only be booked through the hotel. If you're looking to stay in the area - try anywhere else...
Cons: Everything. Also, they would not honour their free 24 hour cancellation policy. Beware!
