The hotel was really great. There are several shopping centers near by and a market next to the metro. Also loved the location because it’s about a five minute walk to the metro.

The Men's Sauna and Hot Pools in the changing room are the best in the Jing'an district.

Hotel rooms class, peacefulness, internet, breakfast, concierge service, check in check out, stand to the same standards of reputation than when I stayed there often in 2010 - 2011. I like the location as it is close to many points of interest

Fantastic central location, comfortable, quiet, clean rooms, beautiful lobby area, pillow menu, free pool/spa use, staff were very accommodating and helpful, breakfast buffet had a lot of variety, excellent quality/price ratio

Bathtub had non-functional water temperature regulator (only had scalding hot water), temperature was difficult to manage in room, breakfast buffet was very expensive even by European standards (33 euros), pool was closed but we were offered another one close by.

I went for a 3 days business trip and loved everything here ! The spa, fitness and swimming pool are just amazing ! The room is very big with bathtub and shower , and the bed is confortable. I didn’t use the breakfast but went to the restaurant for dinner and food is great. I recommend this hotel for the very good price/quality, amazing value for money!

The only thing bad is that the room are clearly not soundproof ! A couple next to me was talking a lot and I couldn’t sleep... call the reception and they fixed it ... but good to be aware of that ...

When I booked through booking.com I searched for 4 people and 2 rooms with breakfast. When we went for breakfast I was told booking.com had only included 2 breakfasts, not 4. It was not the hotels fault, but booking.com and the hotel need better communication.

The concierge service was excellent! They gave us tips regarding the city, what to see, and how to get around.

Communication when emailing the hotel from the US was difficult. They need someone with a better master of the English language to handle their emails.

Great location, close to shopping, metro, coffee bars and really central. Very nice room and we were upgraded so had a fabulous view. Nice bathroom and very comfortable bed and pillows.staff were helpful in making reservations and nice happy serene atmosphere.

Swiss Grand is my "home-away-from-home" in Shanghai. Location is perfect with direct access to Metro line 2 and Airport Bus City Terminal. Staff is always very friendly, rooms nice and fresh, gym well equiped, and breakfast offers nice choice of delicacies for every taste. Whether for business of pleasure, this hotel is a perfect choice in Shanghai.

Excellent 5-star hotel in great central location

The hotel is modern and almost perfectly located in the Jing'An district of Shanghai. It is a 5 min walk to the Subway station and around the corner from a number of great eateries both Chinese and Western. Travel time to places like the Bund/Concessions and Financial District are less than 30 mins by Taxi even less by Subway. Most of the staff speak some English which was not always the case in other 5-star hotels in China. Concierge was well informed and more helpful than the average as well. Another reviewer mentioned that they didn't like the hard beds. I like the firm, yet comfortable mattresses they have.

All 5-star hotels in China provide you with two bottles of drinking water per day. Swissotel's bottles were actually half-bottles. This is really nit-picking but I couldn't think of anything else I didn't like!

Modern, clean and efficient. Good location and public transportation, such as the MRT Subway, is just a few steps away.

The main restaurant on the 2nd floor offers an excellent buffet breakfast with great international food variety ; however, the staff needs to be more pro-active to ensure an efficient service. On several occasions there were no tables available, not because they were occupied by other guests but because they were not clean. The waiters, seems to be waiting for something to happen because some of them are not pro-active enough, seems they are waiting for instructions, or maybe they prefer to remain in their "comfort zone".
