If kitesurfing is more what you have in mind then Long Bay Beach to the east of the Chalk Sound is the spot. Smiths Reef by Bight Settlement is also an option for snorkeling and scuba diving. There are also a number of affordable hotels in the Bight Settlement like the West Bay Club.
