Top tips for hiring a car at Pensacola airport

  • Whether you’re flying into Pensacola International Airport (PNS) for business or adventure, you’ll want to explore the Gulf Coast in style. Luckily, you can rent a car right from the airport. Car rental at Pensacola Airport should be at the top of your to-do list if you want to explore the vibrant Pensacola Bay, sugar-white beaches, and historic sites your way. From luxury cars to compact models, you can always find something to match your vacation style through the KAYAK website.
  • You’ll find car rentals next to the baggage claim section right in front of the terminal building. Main offices are situated at 2430 Airport Blvd. When the time comes to fly back home, return the vehicle to the same place you found it. Use navigation features or follow the signs reading ‘rental car return’ on the way to the airport. Drive into the car lot at the baggage claim area, take your luggage, and leave the keys at the rental desk. You might need to record the fuel level and mileage according to the agreement. It should be mailed to you shortly afterward.
  • Many residents prefer to go to downtown Pensacola and nearby beaches by foot, so you can expect relatively heavier pedestrian traffic. Watch out for people crossing the roads or marine life nesting on the beach parking. Pensacola Airport car rental lets you relax in your seat and eliminates the hurdle of waiting in line for public means of transport. During the peak hours, in the morning and evening, make a point of leaving early so you can make it to your destination in good time.
  • During the rental period, you’ll be responsible for all toll payments. Certain rental companies provide an optional e-toll service that allows you to drive through tolled bridges, highways, and lanes. Rental vehicles are specially equipped to process tolls electronically. All you have to do is agree with the rental supplier on how to access this program. You might have to share your credit card information to process the related fees.
  • Book your car hire at Pensacola airport at least 1 day before your trip in order to get a below-average price

FAQs about renting a car at Pensacola airport

  • What conditions must you fulfill to pick up a car rental at Pensacola Airport?

Rental qualifications apply to all renters at the time of picking up the cars. To avoid misunderstandings, have your ID or passport, credit card, and license matching the name on the reservation. If any doubts arise, the administrators may ask you to cancel and re-book a rental. Make sure your driver’s license is in your name, and the driving record is safe. For most companies, the minimum age for renters and their additional drivers is 21 and 25 years, respectively.

  • Are there any guaranteed reservations at Pensacola Airport car rental?

Sometimes you want to ride in a specific convertible, minivan, or SUV when heading to certain locations. At the point of booking, check for cars that have been highlighted for guaranteed reservation. Such bookings are usually secured with a credit card. If you change your mind, follow the cancellation policy of your preferred car rental at Pensacola Airport.

  • What mode of payment is acceptable for car rental charges at PNS Airport?

Review the T&C concerning credit card acceptance at PNS car rentals. You must meet all the requirements at the rental desk regardless of the prepayment method. Credit cards are the most preferred form of payment. Find out from your rental supplier the specific type of credit cards they accept. Avoid gift cards and prepaid debit cards during pick-up. The provider might evaluate your creditworthiness depending on the rental policy if you present a debit card (only at locations accepting this card). They will also request another form of identification. It is best to offer the same mode of payment you used during your online reservation for identification reasons. Confirm whether you need to give proof of return flight ticket at the airport location.

  • Which car rental companies will pick you up at Pensacola airport?

Car rental companies that offer shuttle or pick-up services from Pensacola airport to off-airport locations include Ace, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hertz, National, Payless, and Thrifty.

Took 45 waiting for key to vehicle. Man in booth decided to help people with directions at their car for 20 min. Bringing car back, there was no person there to receive the car. There was about 30 to 40 cars just lined up and we all just left the cars there, but there was so many they were going into the roadway. There was a guy just collecting our keys at the very front, but it was a fiasco.

There was no car available upon arrival despite a reservation far in advance. One was procured after a long wait of over an hour. The provided vehicle was dirty and smelled bad. The safety features were also giving error messages. Cruise control and front and rear collision sensors were not working. The return process involved poor signage and unfriendly employees and was also slow.

At both my Pensacola pick up &my Atlanta dropp off, the staff were fantastic & the wait was very short. However, I had chosen intermediate SUV and I got a small compact one that was harder to get in & out of than expected. I was coming to town to meet up with my husband and I wish there had been an option online I could've used to add him as an extra driver at the time of reservation, because we then had to find a Hertz location along our route in order to add him as a driver in person. We were also disappointed at the cost of adding an extra driver. Wish the staff had been more knowledgeable about toll roads on my explained route, as I ended up paying a much higher rate using your daily 13.99 toll coverage fee than if I had paid tolls individually. Being from out of state, I didn't know which highways were tollroads or not and I could have saved a lot of money, just paying them as they came up, probably over $70 at my estimation! I would definitely use Hertz again now that I have experience with some of these additional costs and what questions to ask up front.

Everything was wonderful. I did expect to receive a Tesla both based on when I booked it and the additional emails that came to me related to what I needed to do for the Tesla so that was a little disappointing as I was really looking forward to a Tesla, but loved the Jeep also. Since I needed a car, it was good. The counter person was dismissive, just did the basics, explaining both (such as do I bring it back filled or not?, THAT was important and expensive), then handed me paperwork with instructions to go to the Dollar kiosk in the garage for my keys and vehicle. No one has entered the Dollar kiosk in that garage in quite a whlie. No employee present anywhere near, I wandered around, found the car, still no help. 15 minutes later a car driver brought a car in and saw me, directed me to the HERTZ kiosk for my keys. She actually got the keys for me. I wish I had her name. The car was not clean, had several minor things that no longer worked, nothing that affected drive ability and I was already hours late. Little, annoying things. And the oil change notice kept coming on at odd times. It was NOT worth that kind of money.
