Mostly good experience. Since we were visiting Jebel Akhdar, we needed a 4WD and were grateful the agent at pick-up could provide that. I would have been even more grateful had that been clear when I was making the booking. I checked the model we reserved online prior to booking -- when booking with the same company in both Salalah and Muscat -- but that was not a reliable way to ensure we had a 4WD. Also, returning the vehicle at Muscat Airport was very frustrating; there are few and poorly placed signs directing to rental returns, and then there is no way to get through the gate into the parking area, which requires an entry card. This left a poor end to an otherwise great experience, both in Oman and with Dollar Rental.
It is strange that after using car you should wash it - it could be rental service responsibility

Collection was terrible. Long waiting time, only one person on desk. They didn’t have the car sizes we had ordered. Would really recommend not using these guys. Cheap for a reason!
We got to Muscat airport at 4am. Once we cleared immigration/customs etc we were in our car within 25 minutes and ready to go. Badr who was our check in agent was not only very helpful and easy to deal with, he even walked us from check in counter to the rental car area (5 minute walk) as we got a bit lost. Car was waiting for us with ignition switched on. Instructions for everything was very clear - we got a gate card for the way backk. Returning car took 7-9 mins for all checks and we were all good. Would definitely use Dollar again.
They charged me twice with no explanation whatsoever, no email describing the extra charges. They simply used my deposit after I had left the country and managed to raise the original deposit value to the total amount of my rental, thus charging me twice. I don't recommend.
