Pros: It's a nice hotel, nice location, clean, nice staff, nice beachfront
Cons: We stayed there for a week and we didn't like: - Noisy, music everywhere, very loud, not smooth nor relaxing - noisy guests that staff did not stop, in my case, people came to the lounge with their own speakers - noisy rooms, better get out early, before 9 am or housekeepers will let you know you are lazy - fees for everything, it's ok to pay for additionals, but resort fee is not worth it (and it's a hidden cost), valet excessive, fees for receiving packages is expensive. I would recommend to bundle better tariffs and consider flat fees or caped fees for those who stay several days. After the second day, we ended trying to avoid every reason to stay in the hotel during the day. In particular, we avoided the pool, only one time tried to spend the morning there but could not resist the music of the hotel and the personal music of some guests.

Pros: Pool area was beautiful, and open 24 hours! Love how the hotel was right next to the beach. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Price of food and drinks at the pool / beach was expensive, but it was what I expected when booking the hotel. Beach chairs were included in the resort fee, which was nice, but the fee didn't include a beach umbrella with the chairs...the umbrella was an extra $25 for the day (and we absolutely needed the umbrella because it was so hot outside).

Pros: Beautiful hotel, with a very very attentive staff. This hotel is walking distance from all the best parts of Miami Beach.
Cons: The only bad thing about this hotel is that there are sooo many families (mostly from Europe) here, that the pool becomes way too crowded. As a couple in their 20s, we had to avoid the pool, and stay in the ocean.

Our room was so great even had a record player we put on Latin music to start our vacation. Great to use the Raleigh Hotel pool across the street on the beach. I will come back. Pros: Brilliant location and hotel. We found all staff very kind, friendly and accommodating and felt very at ease from the moment we arrived. The pool area was quiet and a much needed escape from the craziness of Miami. The room was clean, the bed extremely comfy and the bathroom great. Would highly recommend.
Cons: The breakfast was described as continental and was an unusual mix. Simply as a suggestion, it would be nice if basic pastries were provided in addition.

Pros: Nice place with excellent happy hour.
Cons: Front desk service was very poor, I was kept waiting at time of my check-out while the front desk manager( never acknowledging my presence) was talking to a couple at great length about the best restaurants in town and other possible points of interest, all the while the concierge sitting at her desk directly behind us had nothing to do, finally after about ten minutes another front desk manager came out to assist me. I also did not like the $19 " hotel fee" for pool towels I did not ask for or use! When I politely asked to have the charge removed I was gruffly told "No". All the above left a bad taste in my mouth as I departed on what otherwise was an overall positive experience.

Pros: It was quiet & tranquil. Enjoyed watching the few wedding ceremonies. Hotel staff cordial & efficient. Breakfast by the pool was enjoyable. Size of hotel just right cozy & understated rooms were comfortable we had small size rooms when we arrived & when we requested larger rooms they accommodated us. Would recommended to our friends.
Cons: Cannot recall that there was anything we did not like about the service or the hotel.

Pros: Close to the beach and spa is nice. The rooms are cramped but nicely furnished.
Cons: I am an experienced business and leisure traveler. I've stayed at over 250 hotels all over the world and I have never experienced such poor customer service from the front lobby employees. They seemed to purposely not want to accommodate any request. I would never want to stay here again even though I liked other aspects of the hotel.

Pros: I adored the pool and beach area.... Just spectacular! Very relaxing! The rooms were nice. However, the first room they put us in smelled of mildew. Overall I would stay again!

Pros: My stay at the Palms Resort felt like being in paradise! All services and facilities were exceptional.
Cons: The check in [front desk] staff was not the friendliest. The staff person told me that my reservations were made by HotelBeds and that the room preference was not guaranteed when reservations were made through 3rd party sites. I asked to speak with a manager and was told that the person was on a short break. The manager never spoke to me, however I was given the double room per the reservation.

Pros: Room's view was gorgeous. Tiki bar and pool were hopping and service was attentive.
Cons: Beds were fulls and not queens so me, my wife and daughter were cramped. We were told facilities and services were 24 hours but pool area was a dark ghost town after 9 pm while neighboring hotels were jumping. $37 a day for parking was very high.

Pros: Really clean and well located
Cons: The night was windy and something on the roof or the building was flapping waking us up at night. After mentioning it to the front desk, we were just told: we will send somebody looking at it. I would have expect a discount to compensate as the hotel is a high end hotel. Really disappointed.

Cons: There was a few small things with the television and the maids who did not necessarily pay attention to the “Do Not Disturb Red. Button”. The staff was amazing and I was very impress with their ability to provide the service they possibly could. I worked for the Ritz Carlton Hotel and they we’re just as capable of provoking the same service. There was a few discrepancies with the billing but hopefully they will go over the payments and do the right thing?

Pros: I did enjoy that the hotel offered a gorgeous view and was perfectly located in the heart of biscayne /downtown Miami area. I also enjoyed most of the amenities
Cons: I did not like the fact that the hotel did not appropriately handle the New Years clientele and would have 30 minutes to an hour for lag time on ordering room service, getting front desk assistance, and general services. I also thought it was very unprofessional of the hotel to give my room away on the night of New Years eve after I paid over 2 thousand dollars to reserve the room almost two weeks in advance. Although hotel credit was given, I still feel the hotel could have done more since we had a filthy hotel room. I really felt this hotel had the potential however they failed to show me that and honestly with the prices I paid I really deserved more

Pros: The room was nice and clean. The people were friendly. The pools were nice. The beach was great.
Cons: Room: We had requested an ocean view room with a patio. We were not given any options. The room# was 534. It was on the side of the building facing west so our main view was the hotel rooms on the other side. There was just a sliver of ocean view. If I were to go again I would insist on a room facing East and much higher up. Noise: Music from the restaurant was loud and started at 10:00 p.m. and continued until 4:30 in the morning. Extra Charges: There was a $150 charge extra per night which will be allegedly refunded. the parking was $40 per night. The taxes are a killer. So for two nights at a quoted rate of $260 per night, instead of being $520 turned out to be $729.

Pros: My stay at Thompson was very satisfactory. Everybody smiled and greeted us everywhere without making us uncomfortable or being too friendly. It was a quiet and relaxing stay that I very much anticipated, and I was glad that I chose Thompson for my first visit to Miami Beach!

Cons: The hotel hosted an event at the pool all day Saturday which meant it was closed to hotel guests. Relaxing and drinking poolside was not an option but one we had counted on and paid for. Pros: SOME of the staff were very kind. Almost kind enough to make up for the two people who had terrible attitudes when faced with an actual customer service situation prior to them. First impression is everything. The bed was actually quite comfortable.
Cons: The hotel signage is terrible for a place that makes that much money and is located on south beach. Why is that an issue here? There are multiple buildings with no parking anywhere around them and surrounded by a difficult two-lane road. The building that has the more obvious sign (shown in the picture) isn't even the building you check in at, or will likely stay. When I called trying to get assistance, the woman on the phone had a one inch fuse before I could hear her try to pass me off to somebody. She thought she was muffling the phone well enough but I could hear her telling the gentleman there how stupid I must be. They kept insisting there was a man outside, which there was nobody anywhere and she kept giving me terrible directions leading me in circles around there building as I tried to avoid letting the cars line up behind me. Finally, a gentleman I could only assume was the one she was speaking to came out and frankly spoke to me like I must be an idiot, pointing at the building aggressively yelling "Do you not see that black and white sign we are telling you about? Just use your eyes and look. This is the riviera!" in a tone that suggested I'm a child who has been crying in the back seat of his car for an hour. I didn't even feel up to letting him know they don't know left from right and he was pointing at the complete opposite of where they were guiding me on the phone. It then turned out my only option for parking was to pay $40 a night for valet. Only other option is a nearby garage for $35 a night. That is the ONLY parking option if you are driving; so budget for it. There is also a $20 hotel fee added as well. I thought the hotel fee was... Well, the rate. I had never been so frustrated by a hotel before actually even getting checked in. When expressing my discontent to the gentleman checking me in, he said he would give me a better room, which meant a room with more space and an obstacle course to the phone I needed to get to so I could ask why he though that I (checking in alone on a business trip) needed to trade the one king size bed I reserved for two smaller beds. They finally put me in the room I reserved and the bed was great besides my pillows smelling like wet towels. Let me tell you, the views of the destroyed and dilapidated buildings that just about every window comes with were great. They give you two iPod radios that have first generation plugs, so don't expect to listen to music on them. The tv had no hdmi plug to let you supplement their terrible basic cable package. Half the channels on their directory didn't work. But the fridge was stocked with overprice booze. I felt like I wasted my money and could have paid half as much for twice the experience almost anywhere else. Are there worse places? Obviously. But I would never recommend this hotel to anybody. If I was on vacation and not business, my trip would have been ruined by how short they fell of how decent they look online.

Pros: Close to the convention center Private balcony Contemporary room styling
Cons: Here's my list: -No ice machines...I had to go to the bar in my pajamas to get ice -Took over 30 minutes to check in -No one helped us with our bags even though they force you to pay $35 a day to value -Everyone seems to ignore you unless you directly speak to them -Air Conditioner was broken and they fixed the day we left...over 90 deg on SOBE! This left a wet, slippery film over the floor -Not very safe...anyone can walk into the side entrance of the hotel (there is no door whatsoever) and have access to the rooms -No room service even though there is a restaurant attached to the hotel -The beds were DEFINITELY not Tempurpedic as advertised; it is a cheap knockoff -I wouldn't stay here again unless I had to

Cons: There was a roach running around as we entered the room. I guess you can say, it was a surprise being welcomed by a roach. The room was tiny with a separate bathroom sink right next to the bed. Parking is horrible. Customer service is not that great. So we ended up saying forget it and checking out early to stay at double tree.

Pros: The was excellent, especially the pool staff, Joe was excellent. Check in was a breeze and we were upgraded to a king suite. The location is great and quiet/peaceful.
Cons: Was charged for two luxury beach chairs when we had two local friends join us for about and hour at the beach. The hotel could pay more attention to the cleanliness of the pools and common areas. Small details matter and considering the size of the hotel it would not be difficult to keep spotless.

Pros: The hotel’s location is very good. The facilities very nice, and overall, the customer service was AMAZING. All very nice, attentive, and efficient. I have traveled a lot and cam say this is the best customer service ever. Will definitely visit again.
Cons: The onlu complain would be the the pool and service at the beach closes at 6 pm, which is still very early.
"Nestled on the beach, this South Beach hotel is within a 5-minute walk of Collins Avenue Shopping Area, Miami Beach Boardwalk and Espanola Way and Washington Avenue. Miami Beach Convention Center and Lincoln Road Mall are also within 10 minutes. "

Pros: We were fortunate enough to have a pool/ocean view room with a balcony. The view was gorgeous, especially in the mornings as the sun moved up. The room was small but well laid out so that it didn't feel small at all. The bathroom was well designed and appointed as was the closet. The staff was extremely friendly and although the service was somewhat continental.. we were on holiday and didn't mind things taking a bit more time. The facility has beach access behind the pool so, you're never far from the water and sand. We are actually from Miami and were looking to get a change of venue for Thanksgiving and this was ideal.
Cons: Nothing really.. I suppose that it would have been nice to have in room coffee, but that's a WPP.

Pros: Completely disorganized. Awful service. Food and pool servers are COMPLETELY oblivious to anything. Fish sandwhich had maybe less than an ounce of fish for $25. Pool servers looking to gouge you charging for water, & upselling over priced cocktails. You're lucky if the food ever comes. Room was Nice and clean however. They wouldn't let me check in till 4pm despite me being there at 10AM and asking for early check in. Then, they locked me out at 12noon sharp and refused any sort of leeway at all. Avoid!
Cons: Completely apathetic staff, disorganized and chaotic dining area. No one really in charge. Despite multiple attempts to speak to the manager, the mgr never came. I'd rather burn my money or throw it away than give it to an establishment such as this.

Pros: The hotel is located right on the beach with an amazing swimming pool too. Because it has just been refurbished everything was NEW. With in a short walk to Lincoln for fabulous shopping and food.

Pros: - staff super nice, flexible and make you feel at home - location is fantastic - beach (even though they charge u $19 for an umbrella, but chairs are included) - bed is pretty good
Cons: - price too high - very very small rooms - pillows didn't have cover under the sheets and the pillow was yellow and smelled terrible -- but for the second I tried it felt amazing! - room was pretty clean, not spotless clean (some hairs on the shower)

Pros: For a hotel right on Miami Beach, the Riu was surprisingly quiet.

Pros: Great service everywwhere -- restaurant, bar, beach. Felt very welcomed. The towel service company is superb.
Cons: Understand it's a small room but there were two of us, very strange to have only one wine glass, and one tumbler in the bathroom, while there were two bathrobes. one of the bathrobes literally had caked on boogers on it, very digusting. we displayed it for housekeeping to see and they didn't even replace it. not did they replace the dirty towels they took away. The one wine glass had left over liquid in it from we don't know when. we put them on the room service tray hoping house keeping would get the hint but they simply put it back on our desk. cleaniness in the room was no star. Do not like the fact that Hyde Beach club does not serve the regular cocktail menu at night. the cocktails rocked, and i really didn't want to pay $15 at night for a very watered down vodka soda when the awesome cocktails are $18 during the day.

Pros: The room, the bathtub, the decor, the food, the pool.
Cons: Customer service needs to improve radically, for such an expensive hotel, they're lacking of guest assistant. Just stayed for one day and encountered that the guest services speaks way to fast and they give you too many directions. Couldn't make it to the pool through the side pool because it was close even for the guests. Things that they didn't told us. The waitress at the bar acted null. Called the valet 30 minutes before I went downstairs to have my car ready and waited 25 minutes more do some dumb excuses from the valet guy, then when I claimed he started to argue with me. My fiance spent in total $500 for one night and it was a HORRIBLE experience. Never coming back.

Pros: Certain staff were excellent. One woman at the front desk, one waiter in the Restaurent area, and the entire group on the beach were excellent. I stayed for a week to regenerate, as I am a busy doctor. Food tried too hard, and it was tough to get something basic. Expensive for what it was, and I couldn't even get a refill on coffee without being charged.
Cons: Expensive for what was served in the food area. Certain staff were somewhat arrogant, but that disappeared since I was there so much. Hah

Pros: Unfortunately nothing.
Cons: Experienced an absolutely terrifying check-in experience by a Ms. Yomaira, causing us to cut our stay and leave after one night. Were treated with disrespect and subpar to the expected service to be provided by comparable hotels of the same class. However, in my experience with the Beverley Hills SLS Hotel, the above review of not a reflection of the staff as a whole of these hotels.

Cons: Housekeeping stored housekeeping trash in the halls. Management not responsive to this condition trash was stored in the hallway 4 out of 5 nights. Drinks are $20:00 each. Rooms are smaller than a jail cell

Pros: Everything about the place is ascetically pleasing, staff is super nice, people are cool and laid back, I brought my three small children there and everyone treated them like they were the cool kids on the block haha. They had a ball, and we felt comfortable, being young parents it's hard to find somewhere to go that's a good balance for our type of family.
Cons: Rooms are a little small and food and drink prices a little steep.

Pros: Definitely a high price venue. While the room cost is high, you are not nickel and dimed for everything else like at other hotels on the strip (e.g., you do not pay for beach chairs)...
Cons: Rooms are a little on the small side. Great for a luxury/exclusive weekend but gets a little tight beyond a couple nights.

Pros: pool area is nice
Cons: Staff was friendly at first but did nothing to accommodate us even though we were staying for 5 nights and had 2 rooms and lost or luggage for a few hours by accidentally sending it to another hotel. Room can barely fit 1 person. Food was so overpriced by the pool. Has a snobby vibe. Would never go back, checked out early to go to another hotel..

Pros: Great location
Cons: The staff was not very friendly or helpful. My booking had been accidentally cancelled and I was left standing in the lobby trying to solve the issue with getaroom.com. Finally when they fixed the mistake, the staff was no more friendly or helpful, and made me wait almost two hours to get me a room. To be fair they sent a bottle of wine to my room (nice gesture but no glasses or opener!

Pros: The beach staff was friendly.
Cons: I didn't like the front desk personnel. Everything we requested the answer was always no. Also, our room wasn't cleaned all day. I had to request for the room to be cleaned when we left for dinner in the evening. Once we returned late at night no towels were left for us. Had to request at 2am.
