Reeks of cigarettes, shark tank was down, pool small and resort fee is expensive.
Affordable & comfy beds Water pressure wasn't great & tub/shower faucets needed to be replaced b
Bed/room felt old and uncomfortable
The location is the only positive When we checked in and got to our room the ac didn't work and either did the lamp. While we were waiting for maintenance we found a bunch of trash and dirty towels in our room. They moved us into a room which was better. By the time we woke up in the morning we were woken up by water running out of he ceiling like a river. When we called to inform them they said thanks for letting us know. Took a lot of arguing to even get my resort fee back which I paid for in cash but come to find out they charged my card for it anyways. Every time I had to deal with the front desk they were rude and not very helpful. they charged my card for a resort fee even though it was in cash and were rude every step of the way. I would never ever stay here again.
Stayed at golden nugget many times, the shark slide is great as well as the pool area, clean rooms and great staff Nothing
Hotel overall was great. To much construction going on..ammenities not all available.
Great location No outlets to charge phones, laptop... Also the towels smelled as if they were sour, like if they weren't put into the dryer fast enough. The sink had a terrible smell coming out of the drain, the restroom constantly smelled bad.
Love the gem of old Las Vegas. I always stay at the golden nugget at least one night when I come to vegas. The pool rocks and the shark tank is awesome! There's another cool aquarium in Chart House inside the hotel that the kids will like! Love the big bathtubs in the rooms! I stayed in Gold Tower! Will definitely be back.
The pool was nice. The room was nice and clean. Shark tank and slide were inoperable. Not to mention the jack hammering going on was really loud. The sink to our room was clogged.
Great location. Shark tank is under construction at this time but pool is open.
I went for the pool I had to leave due to a violent neighbor beating a female and I didn't feel safe. I told the front office staff who said sorry but we will not return your money
Price Lied to by staff about smoking room Extremely loud room next to elevator and ice room Window only looking at solid wall
Nice pool area and friendly staff. When I arrived, there were dirty towels and linens left on the counter in the bathroom. Furthermore, the toilet had not been flushed, much less cleaned (there was still feces in it). Midway through my stay, the television stopped working. Disappointing.
Revitalized downtown area of Las Vegas. Excellent location near Mob Museum and Fremont Street; one mile to Neon Museum (retired Las Vegas signs). $5 craps tables, sports book, live music, multiple bars, 3rd floor roof pool, very good restaurant. Good overall value. Comfortable bed, spacious room and clean. Courteous, friendly staff. I don't like hard, overstuffed pillows for sleep. Ask for soft and flat at check in as they have them available.
The AC was perfect! Everything was extremely clean. Food was great. Service was friendly. Casino was not too busy but still had all the good games with an awesome rewards card too. Honestly hardly wanted to leave the hotel. Those pillows are not comfortable at all. The drinks were not very strong - but hey, they were free. Can't complain too much.
Great location for The Fremont Experiance the long walk from the lobby to the rooms in the tower.
Nice view from the 24th floor. "included breakfast" was only for 2 people event though we reserved a room for 3... and really basic breakfast in a 5 x 5 meters room separate from the main restaurant. Bad water pressure in shower, poorly designed bathrooms. The complementary parking is across the street. Its a 10 minute walk from the parking lot to the room.
I liked everything about it! In fact we talked about it being are regular spot when we go to Vegas! It's close and the hotel can help you with a lot! Warning you can hear music from Fremont street but it stops at 3am! They provide ear plugs but I did not need them and did not mind!
I like that it is walking distance close to Old Vegas. The showers at the pool level were being repaired. The main cafe was being remodeled. after calling ahead to add a guest name and tell them I wes arriving late, I got checked into a room I needed to move out of the next morning. The voucher cashing machine was not working. I was there 2 nights and it should have been easier.
The room was very clean and the staff attentive. It was nice to see that no smoking really meant no smoking. The tower in which we stayed appeared to be all non-smoking. Things about the pool: 1) it closes at 7:00 which seems to be too early-given it was above 100 degrees at that time during our 3day stay; 2 the music in the pool area was deafening loud.
Location, very clean and value for money! Next to smoking room
They allowed me to switch to a room on the otherside that was not as loud. staff was great. room was clean my first room was way too loud as I was on the Street side where the stage was set up and the music did not stop till 3 AM. The elevator never went to the ground floor even during business hours. and when I reserved the room there was no mention of resort fees as there were for other rooms, this could be an issue with AMOMA leaving this out, however I had to pay resort fees of 19.95 a night when I checked out which I was told is now 23.05 a night. I have stayed a the Golden Nugget and never had a noise issue, the reason I chose the grand over the nugget was because there was supposedly no resort fee. Also I have used Kayak several times in the past and have been able to cancel my room a few days before but could not with this reservation made with AMOMA via Kayak. Also Could not get a late check out
This may be the best value for a downtown location. Rooms are clean and adequately sized. Noise tends to be lesser than other downtown locations, but ear plugs are provided anyways. Probably one of the most comfortable pools downtown. As a downtown spot, it's a great stay. If you're used to the strip ammenties and atmosphere though you may be put off by any spot downtown
Needs a coffee shop
The location is convienant to all downtown amenities and the rooms are very nice for the price. The casino is also fairly large and had a good mix of newer slot machines. The hotel restaurants were very good. They are doing some construction that was rather noisy in the mornings. It was also quite loud at night, due to proximity to the Fremont Street stages. The parking garage is also a very small and difficult to navigate.
Location to Ampitheater Staff and Mgmt. were unconcenred with having happy guests
Extra-clean. Housekeeping and valet were phenomenal. You can walk out of the hotel onto the Fremont Experience. Rock band on Fremont St played every night until 1am. Not any affordable dining options at hotel and hotel extremely cheap when it came to comps.
Location on Fremont Street was good. Easy access to everything. Room was acceptable, nothing elaborate. Bathroom was nicest. There was not an in room coffee maker which was a huge disappointment for me. No microwave or refrigerator. Actually, thinking back there was not a chair or table either which most rooms do have. It was clean enough but not white glove clean. Elevators worked fine.
The employees were great. The location was ALWAYS busy. Rock bands play at the Fremont experience every night until 1am! Partying in fun; however, there has to be time for rest.
Check in was quick. We had 4people in line before us, we were done in about 8 minutes. The elevators were excellent.Type your floor number and the kiosk tells which elevator to go to. No buffet at this hotel. The cafe was OK. Ask for a room away from the Ceremony Street show noise.
Great hotel. It was my first time staying downtown. I really enjoyed everything My only complaint would be the elevators. There was one day where we waited 20 min to go down to the lobby.
No amenities, yet you are charged a $22 a night "resort fee". Don't think about sleeping, you won't be able to. And don't forget, wifi not included, you have to pay for it. Worst hotel I've ever stayed at in Vegas.
The location was great. Parking was easy. Our AC Unit seemed to be poor. Yes, we were there when it was 109 outside, so the AC units were working overtime. Still, ours ran all night and the room was still pretty hot.
The facility and location is great. It's BS that they charge you a $20 a day resort fee. Why don't they just add it into the price instead of surprising you with at checkout.
The room was clean. The basics were provided. Bathroom was very nice. We were on the 18th floor. No noise problems. No elevator problems. Enjoyed everything. Loved the Longbar is a lot of fun.0888`
Friendly and helpful staff I do not have any complaints
Very cozy and comfortable. Staff was amazing. Always willing to help in any way possible. Rooms do need updating. We came with a large group and had quite a few rooms. Everyone ended up with some type of rash before leaving. Not sure if it was the hard water in the hotel, or whatever the sheets and blankets are being cleaned with.
Price point House keeping "Threw Away" My Rasberry Pi 3, the internet is wildly overpriced for 2016, They forced me to change rooms mid-stay. and Eric Eisenberg, Eric Eisenberg, Director Of Hotel Operations was completely unhelpful in compensating me for all that went wrong. His response to my missing hardware and move was "Can I buy you a coffee?" Just a nightmare but hey you get what you pay for....
I love the California hotel, whenever I visit Vegas it's my little slice of home (Hawaii). If you're from the islands the California is a pretty comfortable place to be. They have a variety of food choices, and a lot of things I can't normally get on the mainland. The gambling is fun, the people are nice, and overall I think it's a great hotel. The majority of the crowd is rather old so if you're looking for something more modern or trendy than you would probably be better off somewhere on the strip. There was no microwave or coffee maker. I was kind of surprised by no coffee maker. I think curtains vs slats would be better for the window shades.
I enjoyed the restaurants and the all around service. The valet and front desk personnel should smile more and remember that you need good personal skills in their field. All in all their service was good.
Quiet yet close to everything . A great value and being partnered with Main St casino made it very nice . Just a short walk and Main Street Casino is where you will find a value priced buffet for all your meals at a reasonable price . You could walk out the east door and walk across the street into Binons casino or walk a block to the Freemont Experience . Very nice location and easy to find anything in downtown .
Price & location Mold on ceiling
There was a leaking toilet, noises and keep us awake. Other than that it was ok.
location was very good ,quieter yet close to fremont street . staff were friendly and helpful . breakfast buffet was good deal rooms are a bit dated but comfortable . charged for Wifi ten dollars a day seemed a bit much.
the staff was very friendly and helpful. the room was very nice and bed was super comfy. that you can only ask for one extra pillow and it took forever to get it. and they need more 24 hour resturantes open. it was a busy weekend with concerts on fremont plus they had a craps tournament going and a huge line at their cafe at 3am. had to venture out to north vegas to get food cuz we didnt want to go back to fremont.
Great location! Delicious Hawaiian restaurants!
Nice valet Bad beds smokey smell everywhere rooms were smelly air conditioning did not work
This is a great place for the money. It is old but, well maintained. Food is good and reasonably priced for Vegas. No resort fee, but they will try to up charge you for WiFi. Just say no. Did not have a sports book, but there are others close by.
The antique decor and the area of town are big pros for this hotel. Minor fault which plagues almost all of Vegas, strictly Pepsi products, no Coke.
no free wi-fi
The check in lady was awesome, they were overbooked and was going to only give us smoking room and when I told her we couldn't cause my wife was pregnant she immediately shifted gears and made an exception for us. Very awesome. room/bathroom was okay. No continental breakfast. Channels on the TV sucked. Wifi was not free and worse super expensive.
The rooms were so clean and the service was good.
Train going by behind the hotel several times throughout the nite Requested non-smoking room which I verified again upon check in at front desk. The clerk even dblchked w/me on non-smoking preference. Got assigned a smoking room on the 15th floor which I didn't realize till the smoke came whiffing down the hallway couple of days later when new guests choked in on the floor. Housecleaning had to open the exit doors at both end of the hallway to get fresh air in and smoke out. Found the remainder of my week's stay irritating dealing w/the smell but had situated myself in the room already, thus, did not want to move rooms. Brought to front desk attention upon chk out and not even a apology. Her attitude was like "Oh Well"
Location great. Price good. Service good. Rooms are avtad shabby but nice views if you get the right one.
Close to highway 15, easy and available parking at any time come and go. It takes a very long time to validate parking everytime we return... Constant waiting in lines and waiting on staff to overlook the ticket... Took much longer then it should have twice a day.
The hotel had a lot of character, friendly staff, good buffet and Video Poker Machines. I like how it's connected to the California for additional gambling options. Our room faced the freeway which was very loud. It's a few blocks away from Fremont street, which is okay during the day, but would not want to walk alone at night. Fortunately, I could cut through the California most of the way.
Price Front desk representatives Room smells nasty Unfortunately all night water leaks inside in my room from tap floor. My last time too purchase online hotel room, I'm check in 00:45 after 30min. Waiting time check out 9:15 am. I'm sleeping totally 2hr.
The hotel was pretty far off the Las Vegas strip, it was at least a 15 min car ride from there. The rooms were okay, not the cleanest rooms i have seen but good enough to spend the night. Seems like a good option to save a couple of bucks but at the end of the day, take it from me, if you are going to visit Las Vegas and be close to everything, look elsewhere, the crowd was a bit older and not the atmosphere that i was expecting, not that i was looking for a crazy party atmosphere, but it was kind of dead.
The rooms were a bit modern and in the downtown area. It smelled like smoke which I won't take my family too. The rooms are dark so for business it's a bit hard to do work in the room on the computer. As its so dim and barely light.
Remodeled rooms Hotel was under staff, 1 person to check in, 1 bellmen, 3 elevators not working, food in cafe waa cold. They need to hire more people.
I liked the how friendly the staff were. The valet worked out awesome for me as I flew there to pick up my new 'stang. Every time we called the front desk everyone was incredibly friendly and nice. I wish there was a mini fridge in the room. I figured that was standard nowadays but apparently not. I would definitely stay there again. First time staying in that section of Vegas. I loved how tall the bathroom counters were. For me it was the perfect height. No fridge in room was our major downside. One outlet by window did not work and there was limited bathroom counter space.
It smells so bad !!!!! All casinos stick like smoke ... this is so much worse ... I had to brace myself every time I came back in the door ....I will not stay here again
We really enjoyed the stay in Plaza, and the location is great to visit the Freemont Experience. Be aware that there are 2 towers, and one is newer than the other. I would make sure to choose the newer one to ensure you get a better room. Maybe it's a bit far from the strip (you will need to take a taxi/uber)
Nothing Room, food
The staff was courteous, the hotel is conveniently located. The room was clean. Housekeeping didn't bother us at all. When we had an issue the front desk was wonderful about addressing it. The casino was one of the less hectic ones, lots of food and convenience options around. Glad that they actually had a first aid kit and sewing kit available in their store. There were two outlets in the room and one of them didn't work at all, the one by the desk. There was also a problem with the boiler that caused the hot water to be effected on our first day there, we couldn't shower until after noon. The beds are below average in comfort and will leave you stiff. Probably bring extra padding if you have back problems.
Are family enjoyed the Palace Casino and Hotel. It was a second time we stayed there and we will be back because the hotel staff was so friendly. Also we like the grand Café the food is good in the waitstaff is always Nice. Also the prices right so we like to eat their grand Café nothing better I didn't like the fact that two elevators were out of order. That's all I can think of that would be that they offer all the things anybody could ask or even a free shuttle to the airport so my complaint is very minimal indeed.
Very helpful stall. Left my cell phone there and Lost and Found were on the ball found it. Very please on the attention.
The location is perfect. The elevators were among the slowest I have ever seen.
Easy walking to Fremont experience. No pool and not kid friendly. Our's are 14-18 and still bored to death. Had issues with the electrical outlets. None of the bottom ones worked. We had to unplug things to charge our devices. I had to put my phone in the bathroom to charge. Speaking of bathroom, the floor was wet when we arrived, and remained wet. Even after putting down several towels.
Free parking, good location for downtown Vegas The overall experience was hilariously bad. The non-smoking room smelled like an ashtray, there were cigarette burns on the toilet, the bathtub faucet dripped all night, and we enjoyed thumping bass from the club across the street until the early morning hours. Most interestingly of all, the entire room vibrated all night long (the room must have been located next to some heavy equipment).
Very short stay, liked the vintage decor. Beds were great. Low clearance in parking garage.
Close to all of the excitement but Easy to get away to rest. Good security and nice staff. It's slightly dated and smoke filled casino. It didn't bother me.
It was clean and quiet. It would have been nice to have a pool, but not necessary.
I had the pleasure to stay in the deluxe cabana suite at the El Cortez. I absolutely loved my room. The color did take a little getting used to, however, I felt very safe with security on patrol outside of the hotel. Across my trip and four different hotels, I would have to say, this hotel had the most comfortable bed. Not to firm, not to soft. It was convenient to both the Mob Museum and the Freemont Street experience. The free parking and internet was awesome as well. The only that I really didn't like was the fact, that you had to walk across the street to the actual hotel to check in. You could check out at the suites, but not in.
Close enough to Fremont but tucked away from the big clouds. I liked that it was nice and quiet.
Close to the Fremont experience street. Not a bad deal given the price. At the front desk you will be surprised by additional fees that aren't mentioned while booking. The staff are unfriendly. The room's service was very bad.
Great food options, love Pizza Lotto. Service and food is always great. Fun variety of table games and slot machines. Just a couple blocks from Fremont.
Cabana room had good amenities. Staff could have been a little more friendlier.
Everything was wonderful There wasnt anything i didnt like there is nothing baf to say about this hotel and casino
They kept it clean. Garage parking was convenient. It's very very aged. The room had a musty smell and it needed some upgrading.
Classy Hotel a bit of old Las Vegas
The South tower, rooms very nice with walk in power shower in bathroom. Do not stay in the North tower, it is awful, desperately needs refurbishment, like going back in time about 50 years!
beds were super comfortable and clean...great location no toothpaste..no microwave in the room
Location On Hotel TV, they said they were remodeling the rooms, and it would be finished by the end of 2006. They weren't!
There wasn't anything I didn't like. Everyone was very friendly
We love the location.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, especially, Ruby at the front desk The noise from the north side rooms. Also, the service in the Magnolia restaurant was not the best.
The only quiet room they had was a smoking room
good downtown location and frinedly staff.
the fact that you could open the windows,my room was on the fremont experience side and could open the window to watch the show!
the being able to stay right on the strip, and being able to have a casino at the same place the room we were in was right by the light show at night and we could here everything all night, so it was hard to sleep at times.
No pool and "non" smoking rooms still smelled very much like cigarette smoke.
The hotel room is very cheap. The bathroom was small and disgusting. Very out dated. The only up to date thing in the room was the T.V. Also plumbing was bad as well. Took water forever to drain out of the sink and tub. Would not recommend.
Nothing The room was too small, there where no curtains on the window just wooden shutters, the room was very hot in the morning, but at nights its was freezing. The bathroom was horrible, it was very small! I dont recommend this hotel to anyone!
Room was next to strip way to noisy
Location Front desk very unorganized and under staffed, slow
Great value, clean rooms and clean organized casino floor. Bathroom a little small but well stock with towels
Nothing At check-in one Asian guy had a guest he was check-in . While waiting in line the other employee was on computer shopping and paid no attention to us need to checking , when Asian guy finished with guest he politely asked may I help you and started the our check-in , the girl raised her head up and asked the white couple standing do they need help. I felt she didn't give us the same respect since we were not white. We were check-in 1424 the a.c. didn't work !!!! I reported it . Maintenance couldn't fix it , went front desk for update because we were out and was going to be out the remainder of the day. The front agent told me I have to move by 2pm if I won't to change rooms . I asked can I just move when I get back , she told me "No" by 2pm if not they want be able move me because housekeeping need to clean the room I am in to sell it . I told her I work in engineering 15 yrs and that is clogged/dirty line on chill water and it won't be fix when you have paper with all the rooms on 14 floor with a.c. not cooling . She said will sell those rooms regards of repaired or not , I told her this ridiculous and to give me my new keys. We were move 318 a.c. didn't work there either , only worked because the lower you room the cool the chill water , meaning there possibly a circulating pump broken and that the case there will be hot for a while. So taking people money and and selling them product that you know before is not working is very unlawful.
Convience Tony Romas restaurant. They offer steak and lobster for $11.99 from 9:00 - 11:00pm. We went to eat at10:20 and were told that the wait was too long. I waited all night to have that dinner. Although the manager was nice enough trying to explain the situation I was not happy that we were not offered some sort of comp.
Low nightly rates. Convenience to the attractions. Free valet parking at Fremont. No self parking at Fremont. Free self parking at California Hotel. Get the voucher at Fremont but present it to California for a refund of any fee paid at California. No Resort Fee. Depending on the resort reservation, you can even get a $10 voucher towards the restaurants, etc. We reserved a "2 double/1 King room" and ended up with the 1King bed. There's 4 of us (2 adults + 2 teens). Front desk gave us a foldabed for free. For the price? No complaints on the older room and austere bathroom (e.g., shower head about eye level of a 5'8" person). $9.99 wifi per day per device. If you have 2 devices (ipad, iphone with limited data plan, etc), you pay $20 per day. ---> Resort fee of $20 per day would be better when it includes wifi for any number of devices. Website only indicated "wifi". I think this racket is even worse than the resort fee, which, at least is shown in the reservation page of travel websites. The payable wifi for our stay was not shown anywhere in our reservation details. We reserved through a website called Amoma, which was one of the sites referred to by Kayak I did not bother to check if they have a swimming pool. I think they don't.
Our room was facing the west we could not hear the bands on fremont st. the room was plain bed was old but clean. No frills but good enough for us. They were kind enough to let is check in on a friday at 1 pm which was great after long flight. toilet over flowed onto floor. window did not open in smoking room.
good location if you like the freemont experience affordable valet parking is nice our room was ransacked while we were out! reported to security, no response at all. there is no swimming pool :( loud, duh its the freemont experience but yes LOUD in your room. air-conditioner loud and didnt work very well to cool the room. no wifi! what?!! yes true. guess they want you out gambling instead. no coffee no fridge in room, guess they want you out of room...
valet workers were nice... but practically mandatory to use valet because there is no free parking loud band playing outside fremont street and no sound insulation no free parking, $3 an hour fee, cheaper to use valet ac sucks, on max ac, it couldn't cool the room
Too much noise from outside...rooms too small
Location Staff rude rooms terrible not clean its more like a motel with gambling
The pictures of the rooms you are shown are the newly renovated rooms. The problem is not all of the rooms are renovated at this time. We had a room that smelled musty and one they would have been ashamed to put a picture of online.
This hotel was terrible Loud location, music doesn't stop till 2am, small dingy dirty room, hotel over charged for stay, rude staff, worst hotel I have ever stayed at.
Convenient Cozy Nice decor Friendly staff Floor in bathroom substandard Seemed not clean Maybe needs remodel Also freebie chips rip off Not usable on all tables and $25 each too high to really play Reasonably Suggest lower denominations
BEWARE!!! Upon check-in I was advised that I needed to make a $100 security deposit. When I checked out the next morning I was charged an additional $22 for a resort fee. The room was old, small and noisy. But what can you expect for what was supposed to be a $42 room charge (plus $22).
It was the cheapest price on Freemont The hotel is long overdue for a remodel. The air-conditioning in the room was mediocre and would keep switching off. Some kind of construction was taking place that prevented me from being able to sleep. I could understand if work was being done during the week when there's less customers staying in the hotel. But no, on the weekend and in the morning I wake up to a drilling sound coming from the next room. I've learned my lesson and will never stay at this hotel ever again.
Not overly priced for being on Fremont Street Small room, no refrigerator, no microwave, was told wrong parking on two different occasions
We stayed facing Fremont street, it was a little noisy.
The location was good , The room they gave not my standed, morning notice the hand basin blocked , washroom door hiting the toilet unit , ok for thin people, shower low pressure , no table to seat and eat , very noisy, request for room change , denied , $64+ 22.60 resort fee,
I was looking for a cheap place to sleep, but when I checked in, I was charged a $22 resort fee. The total was still less than $60, but it would be nice to have known about this fee ahead of time.
Terrible that they are so hard to reach because they have no phone, just a cell phone. Then they clean my room ouy , with all of my belongings before I check out and one day early. I got most of it back but this should not happen. Loud, far from everything. Overall, bad.
Comfy bed, clean room, loved all the yard games and board games inside. Was really loud till 4am but they provide earplugs. Night lady that checked us in was unfriendly but the day guy was super nice.
I love the boutique hotel feel and that its not a hiant resort with an uppity concierge. Everyone there, staff-wise, were so cool and personable. We went had two suites for a bachelorette party and had fun in the room and were able to easily walk to the Gold Spike backyard for more stuff to do. The crowd was awesome as well as the live band that was playing. We loved the stay and were very comfortable there. Wish we couldve enjoyed the pool. It looked so cool! Thanks again! We will be nack for sure, even as locals! I wish there was a way to plug in a ipod or phone to play music. The vintage record players are cool, but wouldve liked to play other music.
Decor is extremely cute and modern along with the full adult playgroup with giant beer pong connect 4 and other games. Whole staff was very nice and helpful and the 24/7 restaurant next to the bar was really good
Recently renovated with a mid century style. The bed was comfy and the pool was nice. Location was close to Fremont St so it was easy to find food etc. Price was good. They provide ear plugs and warn you about noise. It seemed fine at first but as the night goes on it seems to get louder. The sheets didn't seem very clean. The morning we left we had a cockroach that visited our room. Wasn't the first one seen in the property.
Staff friendliness, pool aesthetics Music noise from next door bar/club until late in the night.
Modern hip feel Clean rooms Inexpensive Fremont street is 1 block away Free parking (limited) Loud at times - they provide ear plugs Party central which never ends (good and bad)
The hotel is very trendy and had one of the most unique rooms I've ever stayed in. the adjoining hotel has a club inside that was open until 4 or 5am. SO LOUD.
I like that they accept pets. Plus, I like that they still clean the rooms daily if you have a pet. Some hotels do not. The location is good. Parking is free so that's nice. The decor is funky and cool. The pool and backyard areas would be great in summer. Noise levels were high with music at the pool during the day, and music from the backyard area at night. Rooms are pretty small, but you can get a larger room/suite if you need more space.
The pool was refreshing. The room was clean and hip and the shower was great. The bed was fine - not too hard. Great location if you're staying in downtown vegas and or wanna get into the Gold Strike without waiting in line. Our air conditioner broke in the middle of the night. It was 120 degrees outside! They were swift about fixing it, but then it kept going on and off every 15 min the rest of the night and my husband and I could not sleep. The air conditioner drowned out the noise of the party at Gold Strike (blaring music til 4am) but without the air conditioner you could hear music and noise, and we weren't even that close to the bar! The pool could use more lounge chairs - I only counted 4. This was the cheapest place I could find on a Saturday night without being a total dive, so you get what you pay for I suppose.
Unbeknownst to us there was a "Skating Party" being hosted by the hotel. Despite not seeing anyone else in the entire hotel not at the party we were put in a room directly above the DJ. The music played until after 2:00 AM (which was 4:00 AM Dallas time). The only thing done to help was a couple of ear plugs that were entirely unsuccessful in drowning out the bass. The bed was uncomfortable and there was a smell of smoke in the room despite asking for a non-smoking room. It also took 20 min to check us in despite being the only people in the room trying to check in. Finally we were charged a service fee on top of what we had already paid through Kayak which meant the price reported was not the full price and we would not have stayed there knowing the room was going to be more like $70 for the night instead of $45.
location, staff, pool area noisy, party location, loud room parties going until 4 am
The location is awesome. Room isn't awful. Super cheap. No blankets (or fitted sheets).. in the middle of winter. Not filthy but not real clean. Shower temperature fluctuated by like 10 degrees at a bare touch.
The only good thing about this place is the location. Kinda shady but manageable. The rooms were very basic which for the price is expected and wasant a big deal. They never answer the phone and if they do they are extremely rude. Extremely bitter and unhappy employees. Our toilet seat has some red sticky dried liquid on it. Kinda gross.
Quite, clean, and comfortable. The A/C kept the room cold enough that it even kept our sodas cold. No refrigerators and microwave in our room and people hogging up the ice in the ice machine by the main building. There should be ice machines in each building.
Loved the proximity to old downtown Vegas!! You could not control the water temperature when showering, it would either be too cold or too hot. Once adjusting the handle would give you the same result.
Closeness to Fremont. The fact that they sent me to an side building and not their main hotel. Which meant I had to park in a public parking lot which lead to my car getting a ticket. Which now I have to fight to get it cleaned off my record. All because of either the incompetence or maybe they did it on purpose of the women at the front desk who gave me the parking pass and putting the wrong date on it. I was tired from the drive and did not check it, so now I have that ticket I have to battle to get cleaned up. So I would NOT recommend this hotel!
The room was clean. I was guaranteed a price of $25 and it ended up being $55. It's frustrating when you're on a budget and a website lies to you about the price.
Very helpful staff; very clean room; comfortable and light-filled lobby sitting area. Hotel phone was not working: calls went thru an intermediary ("The Oasis") though answered professionally; so it was not possible to reach the Front Desk directly; only way was thru email; there are also no room phones, which was not per se a problem for me. Ventilation fan in bathroom was quite noisy.
Recently renovated Longest check in process in my entire life. And I was the only one the agent was checking in! Asked for a quiet room, got put on a floor where people were arguing in the halls and banging doors all night Front desk originally granted me a late checkout but told no one so banging on my door the minute after normal checkout commenced. Clogged sink. Had to use the bathtub to brush my teeth and wash my face.
I tried to find outlets next to the bed to plug in my phone. Couldn't find any. There where two lamps next to the bed. I wondered what they were plugged into. Turned out nothing. The lamps where just there for decoration! Turned out you didn't need the lamps. There was a lamppost directly outside the window that lit up the room. It felt light late evening with all the light a out. I didn't realize this until it was late. I just went sleep. They need to provide curtains in that room.
Retro (art deco elements). Older building/room is refreshingly basic and has authenticity. Very close to Freemont street yet quiet block. The bedside lamp cannot be turned on unless the overhead light is on
At my arrival i was informed the hotel had been oversold and there were no rooms available. 7 p,m during one of the biggest conventions in Vegas (sema) . It defeats the point of making a reservation. Great Location ,
Clean. Felt safe. There is a building across the street that has a giant mechanical ant that has flamethrowers for antennas. And the flame throwers go to the beat of the music of some of the songs and it shakes the motel windows & doors when it goes off.
location is the one thing I liked about the hotel I did not like that housekeeper ignored my sign "Do not disturb" and inter my room anyway twice, even though I called the manager and complained. Frankly, I was afraid for my life. The hotel had a very poor security; extremely noisy environment and on top of that horrible smell of the room. I would not recommend this hotel.
The hotel is in a questionable part of town. The pictures on the sites do not depict the real experience. There are people living in this hotel long term. The room was dirty, only half the outlets worked, the door didn't lock, the mattress and boxspring are wrapped in plastic and I found a bug on my bed when I pulled back the cover. We only stayed one night and thought we could get the two nights credited back to us. Instead they said we broke the door lock and handle. Don't waste your money!
don't like at all Fuck, last Saturday i pay with my credit card on arrival for usd55+tax 12%=USD61.60, but when i check my credit card account, they charge additional USD160++ the next day i check out, i m very sure they charge my credit card illegally without inform me, not only that,i got few more strange transaction in my credit card account total USD400++, now the bank is investigate, and most probably i will report this case to police,is really suck for my first visit in las vegas with this kind of experience,so everyone please beware when you make a hotel booking online. Find a secure website!!!
the room was old, internet does not work, there was a cockroach in bathroom, the pool does not work
Price was OK. Bad neighborhood. No hot water. No phone. Only two outlets. No sound-proofing. No Gideon's Bible. Arguably the worst motel I have been to in 56 years. My wife shares that opinion
