Very slow service and damaged cars
Cons: Took 2 hours to get the car. that office needs more people but employees need to be more direct and assertive.
Car was dirty inside and out and made very weird noises .
It was also very damaged, we spent 30 min detailing all the previous bumps and issues before I took the car

Don't even think about not buying their insurance!
Cons: I bought the insurance I was offered during the booking process. Since I had that covered, I asked Thrifty NOT to add any insurance on the contract. Since they don't trust any other insurance policy "other than the ones they sell", they request that I provide a credit card where they can BLOCK 7,500 USD (That is seven thousand five hundred dollars!) UN-BELIEVABLE!

Kayak drops the ball
Cons: Arriving at the rental place, they had not received the booking from Kayak. It took a very long time, but the car company did set us up with a car. Not one that we had booked, but a lesser model and still charged us the quoted price. This car was not the greatest for what we needed it for but we made it work. Not sure if I'll book through Kayak again.

They didn't have my reservations
Cons: They didn't have the van I reserved and I had to get 2 cars and we had to ride with the luggage inside the cars because it did t fit. It was horrible. The cars where super dirty also.
Cons: express service at car dropoff needed: i shouldnt be made to wait in a line (that includes car pickup customers) to dropoff a car at an airport. i have a flight to make.

Don't recommend (At least the car I got)
Pros: Didn't like much other than the price.
Cons: Thought I was getting a deal for the CSR and the money, but then they pulled up for me a Renault Logan, and had an Avis sticker on it vs Budget. That said it was as basic a car as I have seen in a long time. The price was cheap given the week and peak demand. But, it was in poor condition, barely made it up hills, had a notchy clutch, no windshield wiper fluid, and the trunk seal came off upon trying to remove my first piece of luggage. Rental was around 360 for 8-9 days which was quite good, as I was not willing to pay 12-1500+ for a few other rentals, but I would gladly have paid 2-300 more for something better....but was told there were no other options. In general, worst car rental and experience I have ever had

Helpful in montevideo
Pros: We rented a car to travel the country. the service at the car rental was efficient and friendly. My Spanish is terrible but the agent was extremely helpful and friendly. Great service.
Pros: AVIS Montevideo was exceptional. The checkout was fast, courteous, and professional. There was some confusion regarding the location, which wasn't at the port as listed but at another location in Montevideo. They quickly reimbursed my cab from the port to the new location. Secondly, we had an issue with the rental car in Punta del Este and the AVIS location there also had a great customer service. We had a new car and were back on the road within minutes. Overall a great experience.
